    Epic Food and Servers

    The servers were a bundle of fun and made everyone feel welcome when it came to the buffet. They got into the music and the food itself was delicious and reasonably priced. The owner and her sister are AMAZING people who are really patient during the chaos of wedding planning. Overall great experience.

    Good food on time

    We would definitely use them again. They were scheduled to do our rehearsal dinner and with COVID-19, we had them add the wedding dinner for just family as our plans had changed. They were ready and able.

    It was a pleasure working with Julie. She took my needs and tailored a meal plan to fit my needs. I would recommend working with her for affordable, quality food and service!

    Nothing but excellence.

    From the very first second, Julie was nothing but ears and attention! Every. Single. Detail. Y’all. Seriously. I cannot say enough about her style, options and ease to work with!! Call her today. Or email her in the middle of the night in desperation for a dependable caterer, like I did, and receive a call from her first thing the very next morning. You won’t be sorry. And be sure to order the smoked Swiss cheese ball!!

    Service Above and Beyond!!!

    The food was excellent and the service was even better! The caterers at my daughters wedding went above and beyond to help out with things they didn’t have to do. They were amazing! I will definitely be using Mermaid Catering again in the future! 😊

    Professional and Detailed

    We ended up going with another vendor, but Josh was absolutely INCREDIBLE to work with. responsive, detailed info, very professional.

    Dissatisfied!!! Try at your own risk

    According to our guests, everything at our wedding on 8/6/21 was great…everything, but the food!

    Dissatisfied with food and even more with customer service skills of servers, manager and THE OWNER.
    To begin with they were extremely hard to reach before the wedding, the sales manager kept screening the calls from me and my wedding planner and ignored the voice messages we left(even though we paid in full in advance).

    We ordered seabass in orange marmalade, chicken Alfredo, roasted green vegetables and potatoes- and only potatoes were cooked as promised. Chicken and fish had no sauce on ( when I say no, I mean it) Multiple guests noticed that cornbread tasted like orange… Vegetables were overcooked and mushy, even though when the same exact thing happened during the tasting we were guaranteed it won’t happen again….

    The event caterer was 1.5 hours late to set up( later the owner blamed our wedding planner for not communicating the time properly) The servers were unprofessional and kept complaining to the guests.

    Honestly, all of the above we would tolerate if the owner was somewhat apologetic on the phone discussing the issues with us… stuff happens, we understand, people being late, food is being overlooked… it’s okay. However, Julie- the owner was totally unprofessional on the phone telling us we were the only people at the wedding who didn’t like the food. She blamed everything on the kitchen manager who was fired couple days after our event (of course, according to Julie it was a coincidence and wasn’t connected to our experience).

    Overall, I would never ever choose this caterer if I knew about the quality of customer service and food quality. Your option doesn’t really matter after you paid them. Try at your own risk.

    Aweful food, lacks response time, didn't refund an item

    I had an event at my house on 26 June for my kids high school grads. Intially I had requested my services for `9 June. I later called to change to 26 June. I called to confirm 2 times after and even the week before the 19th and they stated that I had not changed my date - like I'm making this up. Food overpriced - for example I order wedge salad skewers - they were put on toothpick with a super tiny piece of lettuce by a super tiny piece of bacon and 1/2 of a cherry tomato and I paid for 20 portions $36 - I could have made for $7 and that's including the toothpick. Crab cakes and lumpia were cold and I even asked the server to warm in my oven and she stated that they are served cold - I don't think so and at this point I had no choice. Crab cakes were very had and very cold tasting - nasty. My lumpia, cold and very hard. I paid for a Torched Brie and didn't receive it. I called and left a msg 3 days ago telling company that I need to be reimbursed for this and no phone call back. I've tried calling and they don't answer phone and they are supposed to be open 24/7. Overall, I didn't get everything that I paid for. If you secure a date with them, I recommend calling at least 10 times to confirm the date and especially if you change a date. Overall I give negative 1 star out of 5. Heather the attendant did the best she could and she did a great job. Charmaine Hill
