    Perfect Spring Wedding 4/20/24

We got married at the Merion Tribute House on April 20, 2024. It was a perfect day and everything went so smoothly. We originally toured and booked the venue with the previous event coordinator who was wonderful, but they transitioned to a new event coordinator, Celine, and she picked up everything seamlessly. We had 105 guests and it was the perfect size for everyone to enjoy the outdoor spaces for the ceremony and cocktail hour on the patio, and inside the ballroom for the reception. The stage and acoustics are perfectly set up for a live band, which was a huge hit. Everything is handicap accessible, including the option to make the first floor bathroom gender-neutral. It's in a private and serene little neighborhood with plenty of parking, but it's close enough to the city to make it easy for guests to call Ubers or Lyfts. We loved our experience and we would recommend MTH to anyone getting married in the Philly area!

    Beautiful venue and helpful team

This venue was perfect for our November wedding. It was the first and only venue we looked at. The venue manager, Colette, is a total pro and super responsive and easy to work with throughout the planning process. It is a beautiful building and grounds. We held our ceremony outdoors and the reception indoors, but were comforted by the fact that we could decide to move the ceremony inside too, depending on weather. In addition to the beautiful ballroom, the surrounding sitting room and patio offered several spaces for quieter conversations. The venue staff had fires in the sitting area fireplaces which made it very cozy inside. Our families had a wonderful time.

    Gorgeous and safe atmosphere

My fiance and i did not select a venue yet for our wedding, however we did tour this location. This location is in our top 5 for a few reasons. 1. The small detail is impressive and if you have military background in your family, this is a MUST see. 2. The woman who gave us the tour was so welcoming and really knew knowledge about the grounds. If you are apart of the LGTBQ + alphabet community like my fiance and i, this is a must see. It's safe, welcoming, and overall beautiful.

    Highly recommend!

Merion Tribute House was the perfect place to have our Philly based Game of Thrones/Harry Potter themed wedding. The price was great for how close to the city it is and the venue is stunning. Colette worked with us from the start of the pandemic until the wedding date and was flexible with our situation.

    Very Pleased

We had a wonderful experience using Merion Tribute House for our wedding reception. Colette Speakman, the manager, was great to work with. She responded quickly and thoroughly to my calls and emails. The venue is beautiful and unique. We got so many compliments.

    The most modest castle

My husband and I found Merion Tribute House amidst a variety of reception venues and immediately fell in love. As soon as we drove into the venue location, I was in awe of the natural beauty of the landscape and the building. The amount of history this place has is unreal and it makes for great stories to share with loved ones. From day one, Colette Speakman made us feel welcome, relaxed, and informed about all things wedding-related, not just about the venue. We were given a thorough tour of MTH, including the bridal and groom suites, the “lending shelves” area, and the patio. We were given a handbook of sorts so we could plan our wedding without stress (yes, we planned it ourselves), and it did answer most of our questions if it was not covered in our first on-site meeting.
Colette used mostly a hands-off approach as we planned our big day, which allowed us to gain clarification when we wanted without feeling hounded by a vendor. She was SUPERB the night of the wedding as she was the point-person for all questions and concerns regarding MTH. I felt confident that if I couldn’t get to her, one of my bridesmaids or groomsmen could speak with her and get immediate assistance. Everything at the Tribute House went off without a hitch. I was even able to go up to the balcony for a few photos AND you and your spouse can sign on the walls going up to the balcony-fun memento to leave your mark.
In terms of payment, the fee is very fair, and you can get a discounted rate for paying in cash ahead of time. Colette responds in a timely manner via email and phone calls and respects your time. For any walk-thoroughs with other vendors, Colette is present and can help answer questions along the way. She was very pleasant to work with and we are thankful for her amazing work at the Merion Tribute House. Thank you so much, Colette!

    A Magical Experience

Merion Tribute House was the perfect venue for our Harry Potter-themed wedding! We used it for both our ceremony and reception. It's in a neighborhood setting, so you can't actually see the venue from the road, but once you turn into the driveway it really does feel magical - like you're arriving at Hogwarts! Not only was the venue stunning, but they also have an on-site coordinator to help you the day of, which was enormously helpful to us as we were planning from out-of-state, and they have a room filled with supplies other events have left behind that you can borrow from. And, if after all that you still aren't convinced - you get to toss your bouquet from the balcony. I mean, how cool is that? If you're looking for a one of a kind wedding venue in the Philadelphia area, look no further than the Merion Tribute House.

Classic and elegant place for wedding ceremony & reception

Merion Tribute House is a gorgeous place to hold classic and elegant wedding ceremony and reception. Our ceremony was out-door in front of Merion Tribute House on second weekend of April. Weather was very nice, perfect warm spring temperature, sunny, fairly green nature in background, hints of yellow flowers here and there, and pink flower trees nearby.

Reception was hold in-door, inside the ballroom which has capacity of around 150 people at max. Intricate interior designs of Merion Tribute House provided guests to look around and enjoyed the views and us to take many great photos inside. They have nice fire place only used over winter. On the hallway, there is second floor balcony where you can toss bouquet.

It was very pleasant to have ceremony and reception at Merion Tribute House. The place has bridal and groom suite individually, where you can have getting ready photos. They give you earlier access to the venue if you want to have first look before the wedding. The place has plenty of open free parking spots for guests, large kitchen area for catering.

People working there, especially Colette and Terri, are very very friendly, kind, and highly professional. They gave many suggestions on where to start planning for wedding, which vendors they have worked with, and what would be good timeline for us. Thanks to them, we were very happy and satisfied with our wedding.

One visit to Merion Tribute House and we were sure this was the place. In addition to the picturesque architecture and landscaping, the flow of the space really spoke to us. On the day of the event, our 150 guests flowed around the fairly open floor plan, exploring the front garden, the fireplace room, the grand hall, and the ballroom. Somehow, it feels grand and cozy at the same time. As a practical matter, it was important that MTH works with a number of approved caterers, giving us plenty of options within our budget, and allowing us to buy our own alcohol. For us, that meant that while the venue rental cost was slightly higher than most other venues we saw, the ability to control our catering and bar budget made it overall much more affordable. The rental also comes with chairs, and several other items they’ve accumulated or inherited from weddings over the years, such as an arc, easels, and birdcage for cards.

And, oh yeah, did I mention the architecture and landscaping is gorgeous? We stayed on-site for our first look and pictures. These pictures will be on our mantels and walls for a lifetime, and hopefully other walls and mantels for generations. Suffice it to say, the grounds certainly rose to the occasion.

Special thanks to Collette, who helped us from our first tour to the last dance and made it all very easy.

My husband and I had an all- around excellent experience having our reception at Merion Tribute House. We worked with Collette from the beginning, and she was patient throughout and especially during the last couple weeks leading up to the planning to answer last minute questions or address any concerns we had. They were so accommodating as well - our aunt had offered later in our planning to help decorate, and Collette allowed her to come in the day before to set up. As well, on the day of, everything was perfect. It is just an absolutely beautiful venue with immaculately kept grounds and facilities. The veranda was perfect for our cocktail hour and the lounges inside gave our guests who wanted a little extra shade a respite from the early summer heat. And if you are looking at Merion Tribute House for a summer wedding, their air conditioning is excellent as well! We had an overwhelmingly positive experience with this venue, and we'd highly recommend to any couple considering it for their wedding!!

This is an absolutely gorgeous venue with beautifully manicured grounds and gardens. It's a picture perfect place to have both your reception and ceremony. Colette, the manager of the Tribute House, made this entire event "as easy as pie". She and Terry have done so many events at the Tribute House, that they are ready for any questions you may have and have great suggestions including lists of vendors that have worked here in the past. Our endless questions and visits were handled professionally. We visited multiples times to see the work of different vendors to help with the decision making process. We couldn't have been happier with the results.

We are so glad we chose the Tribute House for our ceremony and reception! We had a fabulous experience - very professional, accommodating, easy to work with and so pleasant. I held my ceremony and reception at the Merion Tribute House and couldn't be more pleased. They were flexible, helping me set up chairs outside for the ceremony and inside in case it rained. Luckily the weather held out and we had a beautiful garden ceremony accented by their exquisite landscaping and flowers. My guests raved about "how cool" and "unique" the venue was. If you're looking for something a little more interesting than a hotel banquet hall, this is for you. The staff was helpful and responsive with my many questions leading up to the big day and was essential in coordination and logistics the day of. Couldn't thank them enough!

The Merion Tribute House was a dream venue, it makes me giddy just thinking about the fact that I got to get married in such a magical place. Picking a venue and planning a wedding in the Philadelphia Area when you live in California is not an easy task, and I couldn't be happier that I went with Merion Tribute House - it was the PERFECT place for our day and set a vibe that was truly unique and wonderful. The building and grounds are breathtakingly beautiful and made our guests swoon - even my early pictures in front of the beautiful red doors are amazing! The grounds look gorgeous at all times of the year - and what is great about the space is it has it's own gothic vibe, but it can also be transformed to fit your personality. We felt like we were getting married in a castle, and it totally fit the romantic feeling we were going for. The beauty of the building speaks for itself, but it was the flexibility and kindness of the staff that really took this venue to the next level. Colette and team were so flexible about letting me stop by the venue when I was in town from CA any time I needed to, and the venue worked so well with all of my vendors. When a freak summer downpour rolled in 15 minutes before my outdoor ceremony (the weather report said 0% chance of rain!), the team at Merion Tribute House was AMAZING - they helped run all the flowers inside and set up a beautiful, intimate standing room only ceremony in front of their gorgeous fireplace in the foyer in no time - I actually think the ceremony ended up being more perfect than if we had had it outside. By the time the ceremony was done the rain had stopped and we had cocktails on the gorgeous terrace and did our picture outside in the romantic, dewy twilight. I can't imagine another venue handling this freak situation like such pros, and making us feel so at ease throughout. This is a wonderful, special, unique venue for your wedding - highly recommended!!!

If I could give this venue more than 5 stars I would. This venue was amazing. We had our wedding there on April 29th, 2016 and it was so beautiful. We have gotten so many compliments on the venue, all the vendors and guests loved it and it was incredible. It was cold and rainy so we had to have the ceremony inside even though I had my heart set on having it outside. However, Colette and Terri were able to make it happen inside and be just as beautiful as I had ever imagined. They let you borrow their decorations free of charge and are extremely helpful. If you are questioning choosing your this as your venue, I would like to encourage you to pick this location. You will not regret it. You will have an amazing day. Thank you Merion Tribute House for making our day so much more special!!!!

Although I have not had my wedding yet, I can't wait to hold it at the MTH. Amazing inside and out, it's beautiful and elegant. The staff I have been in contact with have been so kind and beyond helpful. Since this was built as a community center and are a non-profit, I found the pricing extremely fair for what you receive. The MTH has already made a huge impression on me and I can't wait to celebrate an amazing day in my life with friends and family at such a great location.

we hosted our wedding at the Merion tribute house on Sunday august 16th 2015 This was the perfect venue for our Sunday afternoon wedding. The Merion Tribute house set in a beautifully matured garden like area, with a long driveway that blew guests minds as they approached. We had our ceremony of the front lawn, We didn't need any décor at all. The venue has such beautiful gardens and planters that it sets the tone for any affair. Our cocktail hour took place between the stone patio, legion room, lounge area and main hall.. all beautifully decorated areas!!!! Photos do not do the Merion Tribute house justice, you have to see it in person to appreciate its beauty and elegance.

We worked directly with Colette thru out the planning process..... She was so patient, kind, understating and extremely helpful!!! Colette made great suggestions that made our wedding day even more special.... She responds to emails and phone calls so quickly, which is very important when planning a wedding and makes the process seem stress free....

I would refer any couple looking for a great venue to the Merion Tribute House ( ask for Colette)

We are getting married on October 11 and chose the Merion Tribute House for our reception. I have been working with Collette, who is by far the best wedding venue professional that I have dealt with in our search. One look at MTH, and our mind was made up. It is stunning, the price is incredibly reasonable, and their rules are very easy to work with, unlike the crazy list of can/cannots given to us by other venues.

Additionally, their list of caterers/vendors is phenominal and our caterer chosen from their list, Sage, has excellent food and customer service.

So far it's been a very easy process working with the tribute house. They are very responsive to questions and helpful. The place is absolutely beautiful and i can't wait to have my wedding here next month. The prices are very reasonable and if you chose a day sunday through thursday, i believe, you can bring your own caterer. I would definitely recommend this to someone who wants to get married in a castle like place on a budget.

Merion Tribute House is an amazing venue and Colette is a pleasure to work with. She is very responsive to all phone calls and emails. This is the second year we selected the Tribute House for this event and will more then most likely book it again for next year.

My husband and I got married at the Merion Tribute House this past November. We had a wonderful experience throughout the planning process as well as the wedding. The venue itself is gorgeous! Our guests were all very impressed. Unfortunately, we had some unwelcome guests show up towards the end of the night, but the staff from Merion Tribute handled the situation with professionalism and grace. Colette and Darby were amazing to work with! I would recommend this venue to any bride!

The Merion Tribute House was an amazing venue for our 9/20/14 wedding. Colette and her team are extremely responsive and helpful. We planned from three time zones away but had no problems working with them! The grounds and venue are extremely well maintained. We held our ceremony outside under the oak tree. I also recommend having a band- the stage and acoustics are great. Our guests raved about the venue and the location is really accessible. Also- the Tribute House photographs well- your pictures will be great!

My fiance and I immediately knew that Merion Tribute House was the ideal venue for our July 2014 wedding reception. Colette was a joy to work with. She was very helpful with questions, responded in a timely manner and worked well discussing details and walk-throughs with Shannon, our wedding coordinator from Jeffrey Miller Catering.

The patio was a spectacular spot for our cocktail themed wedding reception in the summer and the rooms inside provided great spaces for a variety of food stations, live entertainment, couches for lounging and beautiful fireplaces filled with lit white candles. The balcony was a sweet send-off at the end of the evening. Also, I have to mention that the perfectly air-conditioned bridal suite was a cool respite for changing into my gown on a summer day. Thank you, for making our special day even better than our imagination.

My now husband discovered Merion Tribute House through an Internet search when our previously booked reception venue fell through. Luckily we had plenty of time. This was the BEST thing that could have happened in our wedding planning as it was a true blessing to find this exceptionally unique venue. My husband was very clear that he wanted a UNIQUE space--no hotels, no country clubs--so we didn't have many options. I also wanted a venue that was close to our ceremony site AND was nice enough to take our pictures so we wouldn't have a separate photo stop. Merion had it all and more! I cannot describe in words what a beautiful backdrop it provided for our wedding. All of our guests commented on its beauty and asked where we found it. The venue speaks for itself, but what really made planning a pleasure was the Merion staff. We were so relieved that they didn't have crazy restrictions and were available to answer all of our questions and concerns. We were allowed to make appointments to walk through the venue multiple times as we wanted to show our parents and photographer. Every time we did a walk through, I could picture our wedding day more clearly! Discovering this castle-like venue was meant to be! Merion really made our wedding a true fairytale.

This venue is so perfect for a medium-sized wedding. The primary reason we picked it (aside from being gorgeous) was the size. You have the place all to yourself, no other weddings or guests or recreationalists walking around or near your reception. But it was still small enough that with 100 guests it felt intimate. There were separate spaces for the cocktail hour and the reception. We used the patio throughout the whole night, enjoying the beautiful views and nice May weather. Collette and her staff were superb. They responded immediately to every question. They were incredibly professional, but also willing to accommodate us any time they could. For example, our wedding was on a Friday and there was no event scheduled the day before. So they let us use the large basement to make the flower arrangements and store them in their huge refrigerators. A lot of places would've said that's against the rules or an extra fee or just a hassle, but Collette said "Sure, no problem." I can't recommend them highly enough.

We recently used Merion Tribute House for our wedding ceremony and reception and were extremely pleased with the venue from both the aesthetic and functional perspectives. The architecture evokes the feel of an English manor, which suited us perfectly as a couple. We got numerous compliments on how beautiful the flowers were outside and how nice it was to have space to mingle in various rooms outside of the reception hall.

Colette, the MTH Manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was so sweet, very responsive to emails, and extremely accommodating. Leading up to the day of the wedding, I had no worries about the logistics of the day.

Even though Colette could not be there on our special day, and there were a few minor hiccups concerning the availability of the on-site manager during the reception, everything went smoothly overall. I highly recommend the Merion Tribute House!

MTH was the perfect venue for our perfect day! Colette was incredibly helpful throughout the nearly 2 years of wedding planning, including offering us a discount when we had to change our wedding date after a conflict with another family function. We loved the location, the beautiful grounds, and the fact that the house itself had several areas where our guests could mingle and find a quiet place to sit during the reception. The children loved running around the grounds, and the adults loved the history and beauty of the building. I loved looking at all of the photos of other couples who were married at MTH throughout history, and am incredibly happy to say that we are one of them, now!

MTH is an absolutely gorgeous hall. I could not have chosen a better location for my wedding. My only complaint is that you have to use one of their caterers (I unfortunately chose Tuxedo Caterers and was not happy with my end result but that had nothing at all to do with MTH.) If I had to get married all over again, I would chose MTH - it was like a fairy tale come true.

The minute we drove up to the Tribute House, we knew this would be our venue. We were looking for something historic with a lot of character (that was in our price range!), and this fit our tastes exactly. Colette was very helpful throughout the process, and the night of the wedding was a breeze. The grounds and venue are beautiful, and all our friends couldn't stop talking about how amazing the building was!

The Merion Tribute House was the first venue my fiancé and I visited and we both fell in love with it right away. Colette is amazing, always accessible and helpful and tried to keep me calm leading up to the big day! Our guests were all very impressed with the site, its beautiful! We also loved that there are separate rooms for people to mingle about. If you didn't want to be in the ballroom with the music, there were other places to hang out away from the noise to have conversation. There are so many spots for photos and we loved that the fireplaces were running in the cold weather! Although I did bring along some fall-themed decorations, you don't need much at MTH. The facility itself is so gorgeous, you can just let it speak for itself!

When my daughter and her fiance decided to have an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding the choice of venue became evident from the start. Living only a few blocks from the Merion Tribute House we have attended and previously hosted an event at this neighborhood treasure. Colette and her entire staff (Thank you Suzette, Katie and Jeff) could not have been more accommodating to all of our many queries and to our unconventional decorating scheme. The grounds are just exquisite and the building offers your guests so much room in just beautiful surroundings. We cannot thank the staff enough for their courtesy, enthusiasm and sound professional advice. Our daughter’s wedding was everything we had hoped for and more and we cannot begin to thank everyone at the Tribute House for their assistance not only to us but to our vendors throughout our long planning process.

This a beautiful wedding venue. The entire layout of the Merion tribute house is stunning. This venue gives you the old style mansion feel. It was love at first sight, I knew I was going to have my wedding here. My husband and I visit the venue and booked the same day. Our wedding was outside in the front and our reception was held inside the ballroom. We took our pictures on grounds too. Everyone was done at one place and I like that we didn't have to travel and my it was one stop shot for our guest.. Its was just beautiful a day and the weather was perfect.

We only looked at one place, and as soon as we walked in the door, we knew it was the one!!! It looks like a castle, and it just so beautiful, and unique! Collette (the manager) is so helpful as well, any question that I had, she would respond immediately! The building is a war memorial, and it is decorated so beautifully! It was built in the 1920's, but it looks medival. Taking a picture in front of the "great doors" is a must!!

We got married at the Merion Tribute House in May. It was the wedding of my dreams not only because the venue is so beautiful and unique but because the staff was so wonderful to work with and made it as stress-free as possible. I had complete trust in Colette and her staff to help pull off a great wedding!

Throughout the planning process, the staff at the Tribute House was completely accommodating and flexible--it could not have been easier to set up visits, confirm details over email, etc. They even supplied a lengthy guide book with all of the venue dimensions, rules, floor plans, contact information, etc. which made me feel like I had all of the information at my fingertips.

They were also very accommodating about dropping off/picking up wedding decor and other supplies, making sure we had an electrical hook up for our cupcake truck, and working with me to make a last minute weather decision the morning of the wedding. I was nervous the ground was too wet but Colette reassured me that we would be safe to have the ceremony on the front lawn and it was so nice to be able to trust someone to help make that decision with me.

I feel very lucky to have had my wedding at the Tribute House. While the location fee was more expensive that I originally budgeted for, this venue has so many wonderful features and perks that I definitely feel it was worth the cost.

Our guests loved the grounds and history of the building and there was no shortage of places to take pictures. I would highly recommend the Tribute House.

I had both my ceremony and reception at the Merion Tribute House. The staff was incredibly helpful and supportive as I navigated my way through planning my wedding. Their expert advice before and during the event helped my event run smoothly. I especially appreciated the option to have an outdoor ceremony that can be brought indoors in the event of poor weather...It's always good to have a plan B! The location is perfect for pictures indoors and outdoors, and my guests and I had an absolute blast!

Collette, the general manager, was extremely helpful and responsive to all of my questions. Our day-of coordinator made sure everything ran smoothly. Everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating! Absolutely amazing venue for your ceremony and reception!!!! The Merion Tribute House staff was so down-to-earth, friedly and genuinely caring about making our once in a lifetime event as special as it should be. EVERY staff member was so kind and responsive to calls, e-mails, questions and anything that was needed to make our day perfect. Every attention to detail was met with care. You could not ask for a more BEAUTIFUL venue no matter the time of year for your event. The English stone castle feel as well as the amazing grounds and reception areas have so much character, history, coziness while imparting a sense of opulence (without pretentiousness). There are fireplaces, a stone balcony overlooking a large front lawn and plenty of space for all. You must come and see this place in person to truly appreciate its character. We, and our guests cannot stop raving about how perfect and amazing this venue and its staff was for our special day. Run..do not walk to the Merion Tribute House!!!

The layout allowed for a variety of settings for guests to enjoy themselves without being crammed into one room all evening. The charm of the Merion Tribute House was also great. There really was not a lot that needed to be done to the decor to make it just right for what we needed.

You cannot go wrong with the Merion Tribute House for a special location for a wedding. The beautiful grounds and stone building gave my daughter's wedding the feeling of a fairy tale! The coordinators there were very helpful with all our questions and the event went so smoothly. Many guests said it was the best wedding they ever attending and it would not have been the same without MTH. If you want the best wedding ever go with our vendors they were all awesome: Fresh Design Florists did beautifull fall floral creations, Connor Catering set a great mood with his delicious and beautifully presented food displays -(especially the Smores display on the terrace) Soul Patch band rocked the night away and M2 Photography captured it all perfectly!

Fabulous venue; beautiful patio and outdoor garden, unique and lovely interior. My daughter had an outdoor ceremony followed by a reception and dinner inside. It was truly gorgeous and so many of the guests concurred. We are still receiving compliments. The planning was effortless due to the tireless efforts of Colette and other members of the staff who answered our every question (even on weekends and at night via email) and provided so many helpful suggestions regarding music, photography and catering. I will definitely use the Tribute House again for something. It was a bargain compared to the other four venues that we entertained.

I was so impressed with the way everything was organized, set up before hand and packed up at the end of the night! The house manager, Randy, that we had that night was so sweet and so responsive!! Colette is great and answered any concern that I had. I didn't have to worry about a thing! We moved our ceremony inside due to the weather and it was still just as beautiful!! Highly recommend!!!

Aside from the fact this venue is ridiculously gorgeous, it was a real pleasure working with the team here and it made my overall wedding planning experience so easy and stress free. I booked the Tribute House on the spot because I had planned weddings before and knew exactly what to look for. I wanted a venue where I had a list of caterers to choose from, an option to have the ceremony there as well, and for it to be easy for my guests to get to. My ceremony was on the lawn, and the pictures looked amazing. Also, as opposed to having your wedding in center city, having it slightly outside of the city was so perfect because the Tribute House has a big parking lot where people can just pull in and park for free. Colette, and Suzette were my contacts and were both so easy to work with and also very thoughtful. I really appreciate the special thought they gave me - for instance, my mom's sunglasses broke and colette mailed the tiny little screw to her a few days later. Also, my wedding was outside of the fireplace season, but it had been a chilly April Saturday and Colette was able to track down some logs and still run the fire for my cocktail hour. I highly recommend The Merion Tribute House for your wedding. The venue photographs stunningly and you'll be working with really good people.

The Merion Tribute house was wonderful. The staff were incredible from beginning to end and the place was simply gorgeous. We got to save a ton on decorations because MTH didn't need any! From the moment our guests walked onto the property, all we could hear were oohs and ahs. Absolutely wonderful.

The Merion Tribute house is a beautiful venue. The only problem that I have is that the dance floor is incredibly small. I would say that it fits 75 people max. My family and friends are dancers so it was really tight. I chose this location before it was remodeled, and I wasn't told about any plans to remodel until I showed up at one of the open houses. I have to admit, most of the changes were upgrades with the exception of the dance floor. The grounds and the house are beautiful and it's a wonderful place for a small wedding of 100 and under, but anything over that will feel crowded. My wedding was for 135 and it was extremely tight, but I have a hard time imagining fitting anymore people in the ballroom. The staff was extremely responsive and flexible with drop offs and rehearsal. My guests raved about the uniqueness of the venue. I loved it because it looks like a castle, and it fit the style of my wedding perfectly.

Colette was so helpful, accommodating, and reassuring during the entire year of planning that it really allayed any anxiety and concern that we might have had! The venue is as if you've stepped out of a fairytale and we were thrilled to have it be the location of our happiest of days! We were able to come on site many times to visualize and plan our decorations and lay out. Any questions we had were answered promptly and professionally. Our wedding took place on the hottest day of the summer (105 degrees) so we were able to take advantage of the alternate ceremony location and use the legion room! Truly it was perfect!! It made our ceremony that much more intimate and allowed our guests to hear everything our wonderful officiant said and gave us the feeling that we really were closely surrounded by all of our loved ones! Seeing the landscape, castle-like building, and beautiful gardens as the backdrop for our pictures afterwards, it further reaffirmed that we definitely made the right choice in venues! The new renovations in the ballroom were also such a hit as the carpet, light fixtures, paint, dance floor, and draperies really were able to preserve the classic feel of the room but give it a beautifully updated touch!

we had our reception here 11/10 and it was amazing! literally felt like a castle and the grounds were beautiful with bright fall foliage everywhere. everything ran smoothly, no stress whatsoever. staff was very accomodating letting us drop off supplies throughout the week, letting my parents come and tour the facilitities, setting up meetings with caterers, etc. it really is a beautiful receptions site. i had been concerned about the size when we first booked. we had 100 people and fit easily with tons of room for dancing. easily could have fit more. wonderful place!

The Merion Tribute House was the perfect place for my reception. The stunning Gothic architecture allows for so many photo ops, and, in the off-season, not only is it cheaper, but they have 2 wood burning fireplaces that are lit and tended during the reception! The fires really add a feeling of warmth and familiarity. The layout is great as well, because you can leave the hall with the dancing and talk in the legion room or lounge on the sofa in front of the fireplace for intimate conversation. I was worried about the bar being outside of the main hall, but it worked out well and we STILL had a party on the dance floor!

They have a choice of around 9 different caterers--I went to the open house and they all seemed wonderful. And there was something for almost any price range (at least in the off-season.) In addition, you get to bring your own alcohol, which is a blessing and a curse--you save a LOT on alcohol expenses and get to take the leftovers home with you--but, it's also an extra thing to worry about leading up to the wedding.

But Colette is a pleasure to work with and she and her staff were incredibly accommodating. (They even let you drop everything off the week before you wedding) I didn't have a single bad experience with the Tribute House and recommend it without any reservation. (it's also nice to know that it's a community owned & operated hall, rather than a wedding factory.)

If you are looking for a "castle" like venue - Merion Tribute House is the place! They are extremely affordable (the venue was built by the community in memory of those who died in WWI), with a lot of inventory to choose from in terms of tables and chairs. They do provide their own wedding coordinator for the day of the event so as long as you tell them what is happening when, they will make sure it does! If you have any questions regarding whatever aspect of a wedding - they DO have the answer! I based my decisions on their experience as well as my caterer's - seriously, they make it so easy that you do not need a wedding planner!

What a romantic and impressive venue. Family and friends were delighted with the venue and the ambiance for our reception. For weddings less than 100-125, this is the perfect venue in our opinion. A great layout and excellent service. Definitely go to one of their open houses, it's a real treat! We had our wedding scheduled the same day as a bar mitzvah, so we paid half the price (a steal!!!). However, we had to stick with the same caterer that they chose (since they booked first) and we were worried about the caterer that they would choose. We could have opted for a different caterer, but it's a logistical issue. Fortunately, the other event also selected Sage (awesome caterer), which was a relief to us. Collete at the MTH kept us informed of this situation the whole step of the way. They wanted to make us completely satisfied before they took a dime from us. We had a perfect wedding day! Thank you Merion Tribute House!

Merion Tribute House was the only venue we looked at for our wedding because the moment we saw it, we fell in love. This is such a gorgeous and unique place to get married. We had our ceremony on the front lawn on a spectacular fall day, followed by cocktails on the veranda, and the reception in the ballroom. Our guests couldn't get over what a beautiful setting it was and loved having the entire facility to explore throughout the night. Many people hung out on the veranda, while others held conversations in front of the fireplace in the lounge. It was just perfect. There are also many beautiful spots to take photos, not to mention that dramatic front door and the cute balcony inside the foyer. Also, the manager Colette Speakman was wonderful to work with. She was very responsive to my many emails and questions throughout the wedding planning process and so friendly and eager to help. I can't say enough good things about this beautiful and special place.

My exhaustive search for a venue suitable for my vintage travel-inspired wedding reception happily ended upon our visit to the Merion Tribute House. It is unique among historic locations in that the house was built to host events, so that guests aren't divided among separate rooms but can enjoy dinner and dancing together in one space. It also has air conditioning, which was a dealbreaker for me when considering venues for our August wedding. The ballroom could also accommodate our 160 guests, which is difficult to find in an indoor space at a historic location. (This was doubly important when a thunderstorm the day of meant that our ring ceremony was also held in the ballroom). They are also more realistic about the price, in comparison to the exorbitant rates of other historic mansions located in greater Philadelphia. The front rooms are cozy and allowed guests to interact while eating appetizers, with enough room to allow for a makeshift photo booth, guestbook table, entrance display, and gift table. The grounds were well kept, even in late August, and the location is enviable -- tucked away from traffic but still accessible, and with plenty of parking. Between our booking and the wedding, the ballroom underwent a major renovation which freshened the space considerably, even though I wasn't crazy about the chandeliers and actually hate the new cornices on the windows.

The staff worked well with our vendors -- the caterer and the bakery, who work with them regularly, and also our florist and decorator, who hadn't worked with them before. Colette is an exceptional manager; she showed us through multiple times and e-mailed timely notices about the renovation and also when a tree in the front landscape had to be removed. Unfortunately, she was out of town the day of our wedding and my bridesmaids told me that the staff member who replaced her that evening wasn't nearly as competent or helpful. Still, I wouldn't go anywhere else -- Merion Tribute House had it all for me.

The Merion Tribute House is beautiful inside and out (the grounds are great) with a wonderful historical feeling. It made my wedding feel grand but cozy at the same time because of the architecture and various spaces. I've been all over the world, but this is absolutely one of the most beautiful (semi) historic buildings I've seen. The management takes great care of it, and it is perfect for weddings. It was for mine. I hope to be able to return to visit after they've finished the renovations. They even loaned us materials (hurricane lamps, etc.) to make our centerpieces. They were very helpful. The only comment I'd make is that the day of coordinator wasn't as accessible as I was promised. Next time, I would ask for Randy or Colette, they were on point!

A gorgeous site, helpful staff. We were very happy and received many compliments on how beautiful the location was! I would say that to comfortably have dinner and dancing all together in the ballroom, the max is closer to 125-150. We had just under 100 and it was great - not empty-feeling, with a nice sized dance floor (which was generally full!). Be careful if you are wanting a venue for a crowd larger than 150. For our event it was fantastic and everything went great; the Tribute House staff is practiced in event prep and coordination and helped pull things of without a hitch.

Having our wedding at the Merion Tribute House was one of the best decisions we made in the planning process. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, so you do not need to fret about decorating or coordinating elaborate flowers. The building's stone architecture and surrounding gardens are a beautiful backdrop for pictures. We appreciated that this venue has a feasible alternative in case of rain: if we couldn't hold the ceremony in the garden, there was another ceremony space that didn't require us to rent a tent or settle for a less aesthetically pleasing room. This venue is especially suitable for intimate, romantic weddings. They just renovated the dressing rooms, so both the bride and groom can comfortably get ready on-site. The staff at the Merion Tribute House, especially Colette, were so helpful and professional. They made the wedding planning process as easy as it can be! Highly recommended!

Beautiful, vintage venue with a great staff! Being able to book their venue and a caterer separately saved us a ton of money too. We were able to have a small, intimate wedding in front of a light fireplace that didn't feel cramped and when we moved to the reception in the ballroom, we didn't feel too spread out. The building manager was helpful throughout the whole process and the events coordinator for the night was kind and patience while still being able to keep everyone focused and make sure we were where we needed to be.

Since it is an old building, there are some rules about what you can hang or add but they are very reasonable rules. As long as you don't want a tacky wedding, and if you're getting married here I will assume you don't, then you should be fine!

I visited on a whim, fell in love with this place, and booked my wedding right away. This was the perfect venue for my May wedding. Colette and Toni of the Tribute House were great. Colette responded to every e-mail and request of mine, and Toni was a lot of fun and worked really hard at the wedding.

I chose the Merion Tribute House (MTH) because it was the perfect place for an intimate setting type wedding (120 guests), stunning place in general, and had a unique look, beautiful terrace and landscape.

I wanted control and personalized wedding touches, so it was great to have full reign over choice of recommended caterers, the bar offerings, florist, DJ, etc. My husband and his friends enjoy craft beers and microbrews, so we supplied 12 different kinds of beers, and guests enjoyed a beer tasting, which was a hit. I was happy to see that guests used all the little nooks and seating areas inside and outside.

The MTH is a gorgeous canvas that I had a lot of fun planning for. It was a tad on the pricey side, but well worth it.

We loved the Merion Tribute House! Did you know that Tina Fey and several Philadelphia Eagles players have gotten married here? It's beautiful both inside and out (since we had a winter wedding, inside was most important to us), an old stone building with working fireplaces and also lovely grounds. Colette was extremely responsive via email with even the smallest questions and concerns, and they let you choose between 10 different caterers at different price points and with different specialties, a flexibility that really meant a lot to us. It's a bit pricey compared to some other venues, but they let you provide your own alcohol, which saves you a ton of money, especially if you go to tax-free Delaware to buy it! The day of the wedding the staff was very helpful and professional, and we couldn't have had a better experience. On top of all this, when we ended up having some problems with our caterer the day of the wedding, Colette and the Tribute House staff really wanted to listen to our issues and be on our side. A great experience overall!

My wife and I had our wedding reception at the Merion Tribute House just over a month ago. It is, without question, one of the most beautiful venues I have ever seen. Collette was our contact there, and right from the start, she made things so comforting for us. She was very easy going, incredibly nice, very organized, and very knowledgeable. She definitely made any stress about picking wedding venues disappear as soon as we sat down with her.

I always appreciate history and character, and the Tribute House has both in spades. An absolutely beautiful stone constructed building, Merion Tribute House was built to commemorate the local soldiers who served in WWI. To help pay tribute, military emblems are embedded in stunning stained glass, and there are hand carved decorative figures and division patches all along the walls. All of this intricate and detailed work was such a nice backdrop to have throughout the evening. There was also a huge stone terrace and beautifully manicured front lawn and gardens right out front where we enjoyed our cocktail hour. My wife and I were even able to have lawn games out on front lawn, which was a big winner amongst our guests!

The dinning area was more than large enough to fit our total number of guests (just around 150). No one was confined to tight spaces, and everyone was able to move around without problems. Our DJ was up on a stage looking down on the guests, and dance floor, which made for a very organized set up all around. My wife and I are so happy our wedding was at The Merion Tribute House, thanks again to Collette and everyone for making it possible!

These guys know weddings. They have everything ready to go for you, and work well with the vendors to get everything set-up and running smoothly. It is the most gorgeous location, and it will awe your guests with its beauty. Our guests said it was the best wedding location they had every been to. The front rooms are perfect for cocktail hour, as well as the porch, and the ballroom is just the right size for a mid-size wedding. If you are looking for a traditional, yet unique, venue, this is definitely the place.

We were married on Halloween and held a masquerade wedding. This venue was beyond perfect! The outdoor lawns gave us many options for beautiful pictures and some of the results are breathtaking. We held the ceremony in the Legion Room and I could not have envisioned a more perfect, intimate setting. They even turned on the fireplaces and circled the guests around us.

They were the only venue to respond to my request for information in a timely basis (less than one day response) and they continued that level of responsiveness before, during, and after the wedding day.

The price they offered me was far less expensive than any of the other venues in the area and they were more flexible than others in accommodating drop-offs days prior to the event, morning rehearsals, etc.

My guests raved about the Beaty of the building, during and after the wedding. Afterwards, I received a beautiful wine stopper with a glass top that had the building engraved. It is a beautiful reminder of our perfect wedding.

The moment we saw the MTH, my fiancé (now husband) and I knew that even though it was over our budget, it was our dream venue. And it was perfect. The guests couldn't stop raving about how beautiful the property was. How unique of a venue for our literature themed wedding. We loved writing our names behind the Juliet balcony and the room was more than large enough for our 100 guests. They even let my bridesmaids and I set up the night before. I would 100% recommend the MTH for your wedding!

Colette, the manager of the Tribute house, is fantastic. She will answer your emails, mail you things and return phone calls in the blink of an eye! She was absolutely wonderful to work with and is really a sweetheart. The venue is gorgeous and so different. My guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful everything was! I did brag quite a bit that Tina Fey got married there, too! We did have some issues, however, the night of my wedding with the manager that night. She was sweet, but there were some...hiccups in the fluidity of the events of the evening that bothered my guests and myself quite a bit. Our last song was stopped in the middle of the song because the clock struck 11:00 and that was the end of the party - this bothered everyone because it was an important song and nothing was turning into pumpkins so there's no reason why this should've happened. Our DJ isn't exactly innocent here, either - believe me, they know now, too. At any rate, the venue itself is beautiful, the staff is largely wonderful and responsive and easy to work with. We probably had an isolated misunderstanding so I would certainly recommend them to anyone.

Gorgeous building that guests will remember

Choosing this venue was a no-brainer for us, even though we saw 10 other locations before finding it. The ballroom is spacious and classic, while the adjoining rooms allow guests to explore and feel like they're in a beautiful castle. Colette was great to work with, always ready to answer any questions and concerns that came up during the planning process. There's really no place quite like this anywhere near Philly!

Beautiful venue. Our guests could not say enough about the place, it was beautiful. Staff was very nice to work with. Pricey compared to a lot of other places we looked at. Only downfall was that our wedding was in July and it was extremely hot. During the wedding I requested the air be turned up and was told it was maxed, otherwise expereience was great.

The Merion Tribute House was beautiful and I loved having our reception there. It was more of the expensive side for our budget but I am so glad that we choose this vendor. Whenever I had a question about something, the manger would get right back to me. Everyone there was very professional. If you are looking to have a wedding on Saturdays, make sure you know that they have a preferred caterer list. We didn't have a problem with the caterer but if you want to have another caterer that is not on the list, then that can be a problem. Also, book in advance!! A year in advance would be a good idea.

I got married on November 11, 2012 and my wedding reception at the Merion Tribute house was amazing. All communication with staff was prompt and efficient. I was able to visit the venue on any day there was not an event going on there. I chose many vendors off their "preferred" list and I was pleased with those selections also. Only gripe I have was the hostess and coatroom attendant never introduced them to me upon arrival so half way through the reception I asked who they were thinking they were wedding crashers. But overall excellent facility.

Merion tribute house is a beautiful venue. We loved it and so did our guests.

Make sure you ask lots of questions.
You may need some extras like lighting, decorations, flowers, but it's well worth making the venue the way you want it.

My wedding took place on a Thursday evening the staff there were excellent I was suppose to have a outdoor wedding but because of the weather it took place indoors that's the best flexibility because some places u don't have a choice and they give u enough time to decide the grounds are beautiful and all my guest couldn't stop talking about how romantic and elegant this place was!' They were my first and only choice we partied the night away!!!

A truly unique site! My guests loved the building and grounds and still talk about how it looked liked a castle. It comfortably fit my 150 guests. The sitting area and fireplaces made the Tribute house cozy and familiar. I was pleased that I did not need to use a lot of decorations, candles and flowers were all I needed to enhance the atmosphere for my wedding reception.

The Tribute House is lovely, stunning to look at and Colette was helpful in helping us plan. We chose it because we could bring our own caterer there, and we saved a lot of money in the end doing it that way (Catering by Rich). HOwever, we had to pay a penalty fine for bringing our own caterer, which seems ironic if they say you're able to bring a caterer. Just check your p's and q's in the contract. Our guests were pretty packed in--- for a reception you can't have more than 130-140 comfortably in there. However, for the price, we thought it was an incredible venue for the value.

The Merion tribute house was the most beautiful place I could have gotten married. There were a few bumps and scrapes with the coordinator on the day of- which was frustrating, to say the least. But overall, I don't have a single regret choosing it for our wedding. The only thing I would warn to other brides: make sure you have a LOT of time to plan your wedding if you want it here. We booked it a year in advance, and already every saturday and sunday were taken for the entire spring, summer and fall. We just BARELY slid in on a saturday because it was early enough in April. And also, since you have a limited list of caterers to choose from, it's nice to have the time to really find the right one for you.
