Where to begin! John made the evening spectacular, and our friends and family are still talking about him! We had a pre-wedding party for my daughter with around 90 guests and John was a huge hit! He plays instruments, has a beautiful voice, and is so engaging and charismatic. Not only is he an incredible entertainer, he is genuine and kind which is a bonus when you have someone in your home. He will be the go-to entertainer at all our future events. Thanks John! -

My husband and I, truly enjoyed working with Merciers Music. All of our guests had a fantastic time. John was super flexible with his schedule created the most sweet, fun and special atmosphere for us to enjoy our special day. Our friends and family had a blast. John went above and beyond and kept our guest entertained and in the dance floor. My family is Latin so we all enjoy the variety of great music he knew and made my family feel right at home. The kids had a great time dancing as well. He truly has a gift and a passion for what he does. I totally recommend booking Merciers music, my wedding day will always be remembered for how much fun with had celebrating. John provided a few services at my wedding. He kept our party going on the party bus and after party. His intuition for vibes is unmatched. He knows what to do at the right time and how to communicate effectively. He is super flexible and works well with wedding coordinators to ensure the special couple is taken care of. Can’t recommend enough! -

John was the absolute best
We had John at our intimate 80 person wedding celebration and he was incredible! He sang, played the violin, played the sax, dj’d and danced. He made the party SO fun and everyone couldn’t stop raving about him. Best decision we made was hiring him!! -

These Guys Are Gamechangers!!!
HIRE THIS BAND!!!! I can write pages and pages about how incredible John Mercier with Mercier's Music was for the entire 8 months leading up to the wedding, from moment of first contact. My fiancé (now wife) were searching high and low for a musician that would be reasonably priced, able to MC, support a live band, and (most of all) breathe life into the crowd... We interviewed with tons of different musicians and none fit the bill like John did... It was an immediate hire. John was professional, timely, and most of all, he was CARING! He was willing to work with us on finances in terms of payment structure, because he knew that as a younger couple (22 and 20) getting married these days, every dollar counts and weddings add up! John put us immensely at ease. He displayed a strong desire to make our special day incredible and unforgettable, and let me tell you, he did just that... John kept in touch all the way up to the day of the wedding, and we didn't have to worry about getting him situated or anything. He was already set up and going as guests arrived at the cocktail hour (he offered to do the church as well, but we already had friends for a choir) and he made everyone that showed up feel welcome and like they were about to be part of the party of a century. THIS MAN CAN DO THE SPLITS! AND HE FLIPS!!! It is insane. Needless to say, there was not one guest who did NOT mention him and how incredible his performance/act was post-wedding, and during the reception, each guest would ask my wife and I who our "friend" was because, despite having only met him that day for the first time ever, John made us especially feel like we were old friends!! He displayed a tremendously chill, go with the flow attitude while beneath it all working rigorously to ensure everything went as planned per the schedule (he even coordinated a couple surprises from our siblings and wedding party for us!) I cannot express enough how incredible John Mercier and his musicians were at our reception, and they have become the talk of the guests ever since. Finally, John's musicians and his incredible musical ability were unmatched. They played over any track we wanted, adding to it in tasteful and tremendous ways. We didn't even ask for a fog machine, yet he had one at the ready as a complimentary service, among so many other little extras. His MC abilities are unparalleled, to top it all off, and if I could have him at every single event I ever host from now on, I absolutely would. A million thanks to John and his musicians for taking a normal-looking wedding which could easily be forgotten about by our guests and turning it into a truly unique and lively experience for everyone. I will always consider John a friend and recommend him anyone who asks. -

John was absolutely fantastic! I was going to pop the question and was looking for someone to serenade us and set a romantic mood. He more than delivered! This all happened during the covid-19 pandemic and we decided to do it in a secluded location on the DC wharf while respecting the social distancing rules in affect. As he was setting up he was approached by security and was told he would not be able to play. Through a mutual respect as musicians he was able to convinced them to allow him to play acoustic and at the end of the pier with no one around. The whole plan would have fallen through if it wasn't for John's quick thinking and ability to adapt to any situation. He even learned a song I had in mind for the big moment. I would recommend John for any and all your music needs! -

My daughter got married last night and originally I had a few fears about having a live band at a wedding. I’ve seen circumstances where they might not dress the part, where they take too many breaks, or where the sound isn’t good, but I didn’t have any of those problems thankfully with Merciers Music! John was such a wonderful individual and did everything he possibly could to take care of us and make this night unforgettable for my daughter. He honored all of her requests, pronounced everyone’s names correctly (even her new last name, which even we have a hard time with sometimes!) and was very charismatic. When the dance floor was empty, he would go out himself and start break dancing to get the crowd going. In all my years of weddings, I have never seen one where so many people were out of their seats and actually dancing, laughing, having fun! A wedding should be a celebration, and John helped make it exactly that for my daughter. She said she had multiple people approach her saying that this was the best wedding reception they had ever been to, and that he was the life of the party! It’s true, a DJ or band can make or break the entire atmosphere of a reception. John definitely makes it, but goes further than simply “making” it, he makes it unforgettable and magnificent. In the midst of all the stress and uncertainty that goes into planning a wedding, do yourself a favor and go with Merciers Music so that’s one less thing you need to worry about. John, we all LOVED you and your band! You are all so fun and wonderful! We can’t wait to get the photos! -

Deciding to hire Merciers Music for our wedding was the BEST decision I have ever made, hands down! I got married last night at Valley Mansion by Martin’s which was a very upscale place. Originally, I hired John with just one guitarist. A month or so before our wedding I got a phone call from John himself saying that he had a surprise for us, he said he was upgrading to a full band free of charge so of course I said yes very enthusiastically! The wedding day, walking into the reception, I could have cried it was so beautiful and surreal seeing the purple uplighting peering out through the doors and hearing his saxophone in the background. The bridal hostess informed me, rather enthusiastically, that this was the first full band they have ever seen play, and that he was really good so far! When I got in, it was unbelievable! John is such a talented man who could play so many fantastic instruments, dance, sing, and remain energetic the entire night really getting the entire crowd (even non-dancers) moving, his energy and charisma was through the roof!!!! I lost track of how many people singled me out just to tell me how phenomenal the band was, it was one person after another! John is such a godly, energetic, passionate, selfless, kindhearted, talented, amazing performer that I strongly recommend anyone hire! The rest of his band had excellent personalities, as well! They were all very clean, dressed professionally for the event, kind, and of course, extremely talented. They are all hidden gems that shined such a brilliant radiance the venue couldn’t contain it. Furthermore, John can SING the song “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran for those looking for a cute first dance that’s really intimate and personal!!!! After the event, it was so much fun sitting with my husband for our first breakfast together as a married couple, watching his Instagram feed of our beautiful night, laughing over all the dancing that we missed during the time we were either pulled away for pictures or otherwise busy greeting friends and family! If you want your wedding to feel like a perfect fairytale, hire Merciers Music! -
