  BOOK MELISSA! She’s incredible.

  Where do I begin?! Melissa was absolutely the best to work with and I absolutely recommend hiring her. Melissa’s “eye” is impeccable, and I love every photo she took. We had such a great time meeting Melissa for our engagement shoot and we immediately all became friends and were so comfortable working with her. She walked us through some poses that felt and looked so natural and also captured us just being ourselves. We unfortunately postponed our wedding (due to COVID) twice, and Melissa was always one of my first texts to make sure she would be available before we selected the new dates. Melissa took such gorgeous photos of our perfect day and even three months later I find myself looking at them everyday. THANK YOU MELISSA, you are truly the best!

  Absolute perfection

  Melissa is absolutely incredible. And she is one of the kindest people I have met. She came highly recommended and after looking through her photos I could see why. My husband and I didn't get a chance to meet Mel before the wedding (we live out of state) and as soon as we met her on our wedding day we both immediately felt comfortable and it was as if we had known her forever. She arrived early and extremely professional, was always easily found when we wanted to take extended family shots at the reception and was vocal about making sure everyone could be seen and was evenly distributed in the shots (we have a big family) and I really appreciated all of her direction! Her photos of the day are absolutely beautiful and I am so thrilled we went with her. My husband and I were talking after the wedding and were sad we never got to say goodbye after the sendoff, everything happens so quickly! But that's when you know you've got a great photographer, you miss them after only spending a couple hours together.

  Although not for our wedding, Melissa took our family pictures in September and the whole experience was absolutely fabulous! I have known Melissa for many years (although we don't live close to each other) and have always been in awe of her photos. She always seems to capture the people and emotions in her pictures so beautifully so when I had the opportunity to have Melissa take our family photos I jumped at the chance! The whole experience, from planning the location, outfits and overall vision to the actual day and then post photo shoot was so fun, effortless and rewarding, that our family could not be happier! And of course, the most important part - the pictures - came out exceptional. Melissa captured our family so beautifully, I look at the pictures daily because they make me so happy. Melissa was helpful, professional, fun, patient, and just overall the best photographer I have had the pleasure of working with. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone! Thank you Melissa!!

  Melissa shot our engagement and wedding photos in Richmond, VA. She is such a talented and creative photographer that I would recommend to anyone who wants to capture individuality and beauty in their pictures. She makes every encounter so effortless yet her photos come back as such incredible pieces of art. She is great with communication and making the process stress-free which is important, especially to any bride. I would love to put my dress on again just to get some more photos taken with Melissa!! We are eternally grateful we chose her to capture such an unforgettable day.

  It's been two months since our wedding and I can say with absolute certainty that Melissa was our favorite part! I found her business through a mutual friend and could not have asked for a better photographer for our event (her second shooter was equally as awesome).. Melissa was a dream to work with since day one.. everything about our event screamed chaos - from the planning, to the venue, to the sudden venue change, etc., but Melissa not only photographed our day with ease, she essentially became our number one point of contact in regard to the coordination of our wedding! We honestly could not have handled everything that was thrown at us without her and can't imagine loving her work any less.

  Melissa photographed my wedding at the Hippodrome Theater and the pictures were AMAZING! She is so talented, I was so amazed how she captured the best moments. Not only were the pictures top notch but she is also very organized and professional. She worked so well with the other Vendors and it really helped us keep on schedule with the timeline. I cannot stop looking at my wedding photos. Melissa is seriously the absolute BEST.

Melissa's work immediately struck me as a cut above the rest. And now, having worked with her, I can say that her professional demeanor matches her incredible talent. She is one of the loveliest and most responsive people I've ever worked with, and our photos turned out perfectly. She took the time to listen to what the Bride suggested and also had the coolest suggestions herself. She was so creacom/‎tive with her shots and captured the couple beautifully without them even noticing. Melissa took her time from the start to the end. She was everywhere and I didn't even notice. I was nervous not hiring someone to video tape the wedding and now I have NO regrets because Melissa captured so much love and happiness on our daughter's special day.   I couldn't have asked for a better person to be such a big part of our wedding day! Mel is an amazing human gifted with a beautiful talent of capturing life on film. I was blown away by my bridal portraits and wedding day photos and am incredibly grateful for her hard work. Mel is easy going while staying attentive to detail and timelines on the big day. She is professional in all aspects - my family still raves about her and her second shooter, Brittany. I can't provide enough praise for Mel, you'll know once you start working with her that you've hit the wedding photog jackpot ;)

  We cannot say enough about Melissa Desjardins Photography. Aside from her talent as a photographer, Melissa’s energy and creativity made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Her patience and kind demeanor immediately put us at ease when being photographed, which reflected in our photographs looking natural and genuine.
  She has been a dear friend to my husband and me for some time. When he first wanted to propose to me, he asked Melissa to secretly capture our surprise engagement! With absolutely no hesitation, she accepted the “challenge,” even assisting in the planning and execution of his surprise proposal. Melissa’s spontaneity and willingness to seek out unique photo spots and shots are yet another aspect of Melissa we love! The photographs were exquisite, and we knew from the start that we wanted her as our wedding photographer.
  Our engagement and wedding photos were truly sensational as well. Every photo session she went in with an open-mind, listening to our ideas, sometimes using them and/or building upon them. Melissa’s innate sense of timing, as well as knowing the best lighting and angles helped to capture all our special moments perfectly. In addition, throughout the photography sessions we had with her, she always handled things in a professional manner. Melissa was quick to respond to any questions or requests we asked of her and sent us the edited proofs of our photo sessions in a very timely manner.
  We love that we have these beautiful images to serve as everlasting memories. Chris and I could not have picked a better photographer!

  Melissa came highly recommended from our wedding planner at Wood Grain and Lace Events and believe me when I say she lived up to the very high praise we first heard. She emailed/called/texted me back within just a few hours of any communication and guided us through the wedding photography craziness with ease and grace. Not only did she have to deal with the bride, groom, and all of our families, BUT she also took on the challenge of adding in our over-enthusiastic lab and 2 uncooperative horses... The resulting photos from the engagement shoot and wedding were breathtaking and more than we could have ever dreamed of from our big days. I have to say we not only gained an amazing photographer for all of our future life events, but now consider her a friend after all of the wedding adventures we endured together over the past year.

  Melissa came highly recommended from our wedding planner at Wood Grain and Lace Events and believe me when I say she lived up to the very high praise we first heard. She emailed/called/texted me back within just a few hours of any communication and guided us through the wedding photography craziness with ease and grace. Not only did she have to deal with the bride, groom, and all of our families, BUT she also took on the challenge of adding in our over-enthusiastic lab and 2 uncooperative horses...   Melissa and her second photographer Robbie were a pleasure to work with. They came organized and prepared for our wedding with a clear idea of what they wanted our photos to look like. However, they were also flexible and easy going. They gave clear direction to our family and friends during post-ceremony photos, while at the same time being their sweet and kind selves.   We were so happy to have Melissa as our photographer. She currently lives in Richmond, VA, but has family in NH so she willing traveled up to Massachusetts for both our engagement shoot and our wedding. Melissa is very laid back and friendly, making it so much easier to be more comfortable taking photos. She offers up lots of suggestions, as well as taking into consideration all of yours...especially if you have a Pinterest board to share. Her second photographer for our wedding was Robby, and he was also great to work with! Our photos came out so beautifully and we couldn’t have been happier with the results!

  Melissa was amazing to work with! If there was one thing that was most important to us on our wedding day and we knew Melissa was the perfect fit from the beginning! She (& Robbie) were so creative and flexible! We did a casual shoot around town the day before the wedding and it was so fun! We had such a great time and were so comfortable with them it was like working with old friends. The day of the wedding it started to rain about 2 hours before the ceremony. This of course created a little chaos. Melissa and Robbie took care of all of the picture of invitations, rings, clothes, basically everything but us and we were able to take care of the other last minute changes (outdoor wedding ps). We received all of the picture so quickly, and they are unbelievable! We have only shared with a few people so far and they can't believe how perfect they came out! Thank you Melissa and Robbie! You guys were truly perfect for our wedding!

  My advice to anyone wanting to book with Melissa Desjardins Photography, look at her website, look through her photos. Her work is amazing. There is something about her work that has an edge. It doesn't look like just another wedding photo. You really see Melissa's creativity in these photos and she captures each couple for who they are.
