If you want beautiful, classic photos and someone with a contagious energy that puts you at ease, Mel is it! Choosing Mel to be our photographer was the easiest decision in wedding planning. Mel did our engagement shoot & our wedding and we could not have asked for a better photographer. Not only did we love the photos but working with her felt like you were hanging out with a friend. Mel truly wanted to know what we wanted and she was going to do whatever she could to make that happen!! She and her team knew how to keep everyone on track. Mel is fun, energetic, most of all talented & we highly recommend her! -

When we started planning our wedding, I told my fiancé (now husband) that photography was what I would be most particular about in terms of wedding vendors. We met with a handful of photographers, all very experienced, but none compared to Mel. As soon as we had our first chat with her, we knew we had found our wedding photographer. Not only did she take the most incredible engagement photos (an added bonus we had with our contract), but she made our wedding day seamless. She made us feel at ease in front of the camera, a place we don’t normally like to be. She was able to tell us how to pose without making us look stiff and actually made the day so much fun. For the wedding day itself, she was down for all our ideas (normal day photos, sunset photos, and even nighttime photos!) During our first talk with Mel, she mentioned how important it is to find a photographer you mesh with because they are your sidekick for your whole wedding day. We couldn’t agree more and Mel made our day so special. She has the best personality on top of being at the top of her skill set of photography. We had the greatest day, laughing and enjoying time together, and it wouldn’t have been possible without Mel. We love each & every wedding photo she took for us and we fully plan to ask her to take our future family photos too as we hear she is a kid guru. A huge, heartfelt thank you to Mel Kay Photography — we will cherish our wedding photos forever 💕 -

Mel is truly amazing at her job. She made my husband feel so comfortable at our engagement shoot even though he is uncomfortable taking photos. After our first intro meeting with Mel, my husband and I both agreed she was exactly who we wanted to work with. She is professional, affordable, and so sweet. She made us feel so comfortable during our engagement shoot. On our big day, our wedding party all agreed that she is the best! The photos came out perfect. We cannot recommend her enough. If you are looking for the perfect wedding photographer, look no further. -

BEST photographer
Mel is the BEST photographer! We met Mel through our family and immediately knew we wanted her to be our wedding photographer. We had Mel shoot our engagement pictures, welcome party and wedding day and will continue to use her in the future. Every session we did, we fell more and more in love with Mel. She truly is wonderful to work with and so personable, she makes the whole process so easy and makes you feel so comfortable. She also gets the most beautiful shots you could ever ask for! -

Mel is a dream to work with! My daughter had all her photos done ahead of schedule and was able to enjoy cocktail hour with her guests as well as her reception. Mel makes sure the day flows exactly how the bride wants it to flow! You want Mel Kay Photography as your photographer!!! We had a second photographer who was just as good & fun! -

Mel was an absolute dream to work with!! We extensively searched for a photographer, as it was one of the most important aspects of our wedding to us. We talked to countless wonderful photographers prior to Mel, but when we got on our initial call with her, we fell in love with her bubbly personality and excitement and instantly knew we loved her and had to use her for our special day. We got off the call and said to each other “She’s the one!”. She was so fun during our engagement photoshoot and the photos turned out wonderfully! She really captured who we were and encouraged us to bring props/wear outfits that were an accurate representation of “us”. She takes a ton of photos, which we also really appreciated. You can tell she truly loves what she does. Her friendly and fun personality really made a huge difference on our wedding day. She (and her second shooter) were so calm and sweet during the whole day. They did a wonderful job at interacting with all of the guests/families and having everyone be where they want/do what they want when they want, without ever being pushy, mean or bossy. Mel coordinated everyone with such a funny, loving demeanor. She made everyone feel so comfortable and made photos in the freezing cold fun! (January winter wedding) When I, as the bride, knew we were running behind schedule, she reassured me that everything was totally fine and she calmly took control of the situation by just switching the schedule around a bit and telling me that everything was perfect. She handled everything like a true professional! She has an incredibly eye and vision for photography and she captured our day perfectly! She is so personable and genuine and our family and friends even commented to us how amazing she was and how much they liked her. She spent a lot of time in the bridal suite in the beginning of the day, and I’m not one to really enjoy “strangers” company on one of the most special days of my life, but I seriously loved having her in there with us! She had us laughing constantly and she photographed us doing a bridal party dance party, which was so much fun. She kept me calm and happy prior to the ceremony and during the reception she always was at the right place at the right time, so we feel like she really captured every aspect of our day. Mel listened well to my many photography requests and did a wonderful job at working through sticky family dynamics. She was also so accommodating to my many changes I made along the way. Mel was truly a highlight of our wedding and my husband and I are still talking about her saying to each other “Mel was seriously the best!”. We are just so grateful!! -

The Sweetest, most caring photographer
There is not enough words to express how much we loved having Mel as our photographer for our wedding. Mel was so quick to any questions I had for her. She made sure everything I wanted on my wedding day happened, even changing some flowers that weren't exactly how I planned.
She is so attentive to her work and only gives you the best of the best. My husband and I have always been nervous about our wedding photos because we are not the best at taking pictures. Mel gave us the most beautiful photos we could have imagined. She made us feel so comfortable with her as if we had been friends forever. She also captured the most special moments at our reception that showed how much fun our guests had at our wedding. I highly recommend Mel for all your photography needs! We plan to continue to use her for future family pictures! -

Mel is absolutely amazing and her photos are stunning! We truly cannot recommend her enough! She is so fun, positive, energetic, organized and so easy to work with! When we had to completely change our wedding because of COVID, so she drove all the way to our new venue (a lot farther than our original venue), took the most beautiful pictures and definitely stayed way past her contracted time because we were having so much fun! We had the wonderful pleasure of working with her again for our full reception a year later and of course she did a fabulous job! After our small COVID wedding our bridal party did not stop talking about how excited they were to work with Mel again for our reception! She always makes everyone laugh, makes you feel absolutely beautiful and is such a calming presence on a stressful day. When our shuttle didn't show up to pick us up at the hotel to take us to the venue I was very stressed and Mel called me and told me everything was going to be okay and that we had plenty of time, it was just what I needed in that moment! We LOVE both sets of wedding photos and were so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with her for our "two" weddings! -

If you want a photographer who takes incredible photos with a contagious energy, Mel is your girl! Mel is passionate, fun, energetic, gets along with everyone, and knows her stuff. Mel did our engagement shoot & our wedding and we could not have asked for a better photographer. Not only were the photos FANTASTIC, but Mel acted as not only our photographer but a friend during our wedding where buses were late and rain delays were happening real time. Don't hesitate and book Mel NOW! We worked with Mel for a few months leading up to our wedding - she took our engagement photos as well as photos the day of the wedding. One of the top tips I was given when planning was to pick a photographer you would love and want to spend the entire day with. Mel is your person!! She is the most delightful person to work with - energetic, positive, down-to-earth, responsive, organized, and gorgeous! Mel is not only extremely experienced and professional but she single-handedly is the reason why our wedding went so smoothly. My husband was super anxious about posing for photos and she made us feel comfortable & natural and also calmed our nerves throughout the big day. We received so many compliments from our wedding party and guests about how AMAZING Mel was to interact with and we feel extremely lucky to have been able to work with her (& her team). The cherry on top of the cake was we received our gallery back SUPER quickly despite how busy Mel was and the photos are gorgeous. We look at them often and reminisce about how wonderful the day was - all thanks to Mel & her fantastic team. We highly, highly recommend Mel for your photography needs - whether it's engagement photos, wedding photos, or family photos - she's the best out there! -

I cannot say enough AMAZING things about Mel Kay. Mel Kay is a delight and makes you relax in front of the camera. During engagement photos she helps you learn how to pose and to be comfortable in front of her, and then on the wedding day she SHINES. She shows up early, makes everyone laugh and feel absolutely like they are the prettiest human in the world. She keeps the gentlemen in line and paying attention during their photos, and handles the family members like an old pro. She blends into the environment and helps with everything and anything on the day of. I truly could not have asked for a better photographer. Oh, and the pictures---AMAZING. We still are talking about them and pulling them up to look through them. We cannot say enough good things. -

Mel is FANTASTIC! She was recommended to us by a friend's friend and we are grateful for that recommendation. As it turns out, she has been the photographer at multiple friends' weddings! You can honestly look at her work and tell it's great, but the things you can't see without working with her is that she is incredibly upbeat and easy to work with. She is fun, engaging, professional, personable and knowledgeable. If you are indecisive like us, she has a list of engagement shoot locations to choose from. Or she'll throw caution to the wind and jump on the bandwagon of a new location. Mel is super easy to get in touch with and you can tell she really cares about her clients and their happiness. -

Melanie is like a dream come true. She is fun, accommodating, and super down to earth. She took two people who hate having their photo taken and made us feel like the most beautiful couple. I can’t say enough great things about her. She is so talented. There were times I wondered why we weren’t moving to more locations and when I got the photos back I understood. The way the light was falling through the trees and touching bits and pieces of fall foliage was breathtaking, I just didn’t see it. This girl NEVER DISAPPOINTS!! -

The absolute best!
I cannot say enough good things about Mel Kay Photography! Mel is truly the best! She is the sweetest and has a way of making you feel so special on your wedding day. I am not someone who is comfortable being photographed or had ever done professional photos and Mel made the process so easy. She made us laugh and put us at ease. While we weren’t initially sure about an engagement photo shoot, we were so happy that Mel talked us into it. It gave us a chance to get to know her before the wedding and get a better feel for how things would be the day of. Mel added so many special touches throughout the time we were working together and leading up to the wedding. The pictures were phenomenal, the turn around time was so fast, the value of what she provides is unbeatable. Melanie saved my wedding! We had a bad experience with another photographer and she came and saved the day! The minute we sat down with her I knew she was perfect for us.
