Beyond amazing quality and attention to detail!
Mei is the sweetest AND most talented seamstress you will ever meet! SERIOUSLY! She altered my organza bottomed, and beaded, lace topped wedding dress... And you cannot tell it was ever even touched! It not only looked flawless and perfect, but it fit like a glove! She also did my dress' bustles to my liking ! (I didn't even want it bustled at all before Mei helped me!) If you want beyond high quality work done, go to Mei!!! You can drop your dress off and NOT WORRY ONE BIT about how it will come out! Trust me! You will be blown away by her skill!!! Thank you again Mei! You're the best!!! -

I purchased a beautiful full lace gown without thinking of the price it would cost to hem and alter it. I searched many places and stumbled upon Mei's. I was so worried about how my dress would come out since there are so many details to my gown but Mei left me completely satisfied. Her prices are very reasonable and she pays great attention to detail. She is hard to understand but don't let the language barrier deter you because Mei is top notch. -

Mei's Bridal was recommended to me by a friend when I was unhappy with the alterations department at the bridal boutique where I purchased my dress. Mei did a beautiful job and the cost was half as much as I was quoted elsewhere. -

I am so happy that I found Mei’s Bridal…and it was completely by accident. I was interested in a specific designers line and was out shopping with my mother that day at another salon. After no luck I did a quick search to see if anyone nearby carried the line. Just 5 miles down the road was Mei’s. We walked in and was greeted by the entire family! They had a great selection, but luckily for me they had a sample dress never worn, never tried on in my size! It was from the previous season so they no longer would make it. They offered a great discount and I got to carry my dress out of the store that day!
The owner of the store and her daughter were helpful and attentive and explained how the alterations would be done. Luckily for me they were very minimal, I had just two fittings and both were easy to schedule and very well organized. I never once had any issues. I loved the fact that the moment you walk in the store the dress is there waiting for you to try on.
While I won’t be looking for another wedding dress, I will definitely be back for tailoring – perfection! I was so pleased. I highly recommend using Mei’s. Thank you again for helping make my wedding day so special! -

Found my Chinese wedding gown! It was more than I imagined. The ladies there were very helpful and I appreciated their patience in helping me select the gown. I tried on SIX!! The first four were my own selection and didn't really look up to par for a wedding. The last two were more than I had budgeted but it was just what I was looking for. Since the wedding is for February, we asked if she has a shawl of sorts. There was two both of faux fur and I was able to purchase it for a low price. (I later compared the prices to others online, it was cheaper than those listed) I will be returning in January for another fitting and the alterations. It's included. -

I had a great experience getting my wedding dress altered at Mei's. I did not purchase it there, but they did a fabulous job knowing exactly where the dress needed to be altered. I had the dress hemmed (I didn't think it needed to be hemmed but I'm SO glad I got it hemmed), taken in on the sides, cups added to the bust, and extra support up-top. When I went back for my second fitting, it was amazing how much better it looked and felt. In that fitting, however, I realized that when I raised my arms really high in the air, the dress fell (due to how heavy it was), exposing parts I didn't want exposed:) They knew exactly what to do, and when I came in for my final fitting, it was perfect.
Only cons were that it's hard to understand them at times (but they know what they are doing), and I didn't feel like my dress was perfectly steamed when I picked it up - not a big deal, though. -

Mei's has beautiful wedding gowns and also traditional Chinese dresses. It was a one-stop shop for me since I wanted to buy a western-style wedding dress and also a traditional Chinese dress for my wedding. The owner of the store and her daughter were helpful and attentive and explained how the alterations would be done. I have one more final fitting before the wedding -- and am coming from out-of-state, and they assured me that if any issues arose during my final fitting, they could accommodate me.
I also thought that their prices were more reasonable than other places including department stores and boutiques. There are some places where you can't get wedding dresses under $1,000, but at Mei's the dresses seemed very high quality, but also very reasonably priced. -

I knew there was something wrong with the dress I bought from a different store, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I went to Mei's Bridal even though the hem and bust fit perfectly -- I thought that all I needed was a bustle. Without saying much, she carefully pulled in several inches of fabric on either side of my hips and pinned it down. Sure, why not? A few months later, I came back for my first fitting and wow ... taking in the hips made a world of difference! My husband said I was grinning ear to ear leaving the store. The bustle was very well-hidden and held up through a lot of hopping and dancing. She does great work, the price was much less than the store I bought it from, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back again! -

Mei did my dress alterations and steamed the dress. She is great! It can be hard to understand her at times, but she knows what she is doing and she is good at it. In fact she is my go to alterations lady now :) -

I loved Mei's Bridal and recommend that anyone in the market for a wedding dress be sure to visit this shop. She has a wide selection of gowns to choose from, all at terrific prices. She even has a selection of dresses on clearance. That's were I found my dress--a gorgeous gown with train for about $400. Mei also did the alterations for my dress, and I was blown away by her skill and experience with wedding gown alterations. Their was a little difficulty with English not being Mei's first language, but just be patient and know that you're in good hands and everything will be fine. -

I took my wedding dress to Mei's for alterations. It had to be taken in a few sizes and shortened. I also had sleeves added. Mei was very helpful and knowledgeable, and my dress turned out beautifully! She spent about an hour with me discussing what I wanted and taking my measurements. A few weeks later, I stopped by for a second fitting so that she could make sure everything fit well (it did!). Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality of the work, the price, and the service. Her prices are probably about half those of the tailors usually recommended by bridal gown boutiques/shops, but the quality is excellent! -

Mei was great. I bought my dress when I lived in China a couple years ago & so it needed to be altered. After doing a lot of research & hearing horrifying stories from other people (about other places), I went to Mei's just to see how it would be (also to see the cost, because I saw no range of prices for many of the alterations places I looked at). Anyway, she was wonderful and knew exactly what she was doing. In particular, on my dress, the zipper had to be fixed, a bustle put in and the bottom had to be hemmed. All of that came to $160 which was very well priced compared to other alteration places that I had seen prices for. Plus, my dress was pressed when I received it back 2 weeks later & looked absolutely perfect. Mei also said she would press it a couple days before the wedding as well, so it would continue to look nice. Overall, I have to say, I am highly pleased with her work & I'll be recommending her to any of my friends who are getting married in the future & need alterations. -

Mei's Bridal is awesome. I got a beautiful wedding dress that you will not be able to find at any other wedding boutiques because the dresses are designed in Hong Kong. I received many compliments on my wedding dress.
The best part is that her prices are very reasonable. I got my dress for under $800, and that included alterations and ironing (these are not usually included when you buy a dress, and these extra services can cost up to $200+).
The owner, Mei, is also very friendly. One caveat though - English is not her first language, so you may be able to communicate better if you have Mandarin or Cantonese speaking friends. However, that said, she has plenty of English-speaking customers. She also does alterations for your dress even if you did not buy it there, although I don't know how much she would charge. -

Her alteration services are superb and wonderfully priced. She is more than experienced with altering wedding dresses, formal dresses, and simple tailoring. The language may be a bearer at times but other than that she knows exactly what she is doing and what needs to be done. I know some of my friends are going back and referring other friends and family as well! Don't get cheated by the outrageous prices other tailors charge for simple alterations! -

Mei's did the alterations on my jr. bridesmaid's dress. The experience was just kind of neutral. They did a fine job, and I'll use them again, but I didn't get a warm-and-fuzzy feel from them, if you know what I mean. It was a big, big deal to me to see my little one all dressed up, I would've like if they'd made a little to-do about how beautiful she looked, so grown-up, all that. I kind of just felt rushed, instead. They had missed a part when they steamed the dress, so I asked them to fix that and they did, but no apology was offered. But in the end all summed-up, the work was good, so I guess that is what matters most. Also, they had a good selection of dresses there .... I had already bought mine before going there, but I'd recommend checking it out if you are looking for bridesmaids dresses or formal party dresses (they have a collection of Asian-themed dresses amongst others). -

Mei's was the only place I found in the DC area that had Chinese wedding dresses. I brought my western dress to Mei's to get altered as well. I found her a little pricey on both the new dress purchase and the alterations (though buying a Chinese wedding dress from her at least includes the alterations) but she did a fine job. Mei and her assistant were very sweet helping me try on dresses. Mei also kindly offered to number my bustle fastenings even though she didn't have to alter them. There was a little bit of a language barrier (I think Mei primarily speaks Mandarin Chinese). -

Bride’s Worst Nightmare
While Mei’s prices were reasonable, my wedding dress alterations were horrible. The style of the bust was completely changed and not in a positive way. Everything I loved about the bust of the dress was gone and even the ruching was altered so it no longer sat flat against my body (think perpendicular to my body, could’ve held snacks). Mei claimed she did not cut any fabric, however when I brought the dress to another seamstress, she said all of the fabric on the inside of the bust had been cut. Luckily this other seamstress was able to save my dress one week before my wedding, but I would not recommend Mei for wedding dress alterations if it’s anything mildly complicated or has tulle. -

I went to Mei's Bridal & Alteration with a group of my friends (bride, bridesmaids, and other attending guests) to buy our dresses and get them altered. The bride had purchased 2 dresses somewhere else, however she had both dresses altered at this shop. First, one of her appointments ran over time cutting into our time and we waited for about an hour then she asked for us to come back in another half hour. So we wasted 1.5 hours doing nothing because she couldn't get her earlier appointment out in time. The fitting and the alteration process was an ok experience, but the biggest problem occurred when the bride's mother went to pick up her dresses. Each person who bought and/or altered their dress were individually responsible for the payment of their own dress. Each person gave Mei their contact information and deposit so that the bride would not be responsible for any other payments, but her own. One of the guests informed Mei that her schedule was very busy and she was unsure when she would be able to come in to take care of her payment, but assured that the payment would obviously be made before the wedding so that she can pick up her dress in time. We are 4 days away from the wedding and Mei decides to hold the bride's dresses hostage until the last payment was made for the last dress. As I mentioned, each person who bought and altered their dress made their own arrangements with Mei so the bride was not responsible for any other dresses, but her own. The bride's dresses were paid for, the bridesmaids dresses were paid for, but Mei still refused to hand over the bride's dresses after we've given her over $1,000 worth of business. As you can imagine the bride was extremely upset and already stressed out leading up to the day of her wedding. This situation could have been handled better and Mei should have contacted that person directly rather than upsetting and involving the bride. She was extremely unprofessional and so difficult to work with. -
