Stressless Creative Videographer

We hired Meagan Lucy Photography in 2018 as our videographer for our wedding in May 2020, originally planned at a winery in Sacramento. Due to COVID, we last minute decided to elope to Lake Tahoe and postpone our reception party to 2021. We're SO thankful we had Ryan to capture and film our special day, creating BEAUTIFUL films that we can show our family and friends who couldn't attend. In the end, we decided to cancel our reception party and Ryan/Meagan were so kind to make edits to our elopement films, which I know must've been a lot easier said than done! Thank you so much!

Meagan is simply the best!

Prior to hiring Meagan, my husband and I had another photographer take our engagement photos. We didn't love them.

I was expressing my frustrations with finding a photographer for our wedding with a colleague at work. He gave me Meagan's name and she was absolutely the BEST choice we could have made.

Meagan is so much more than a photographer. She's a circus wrangler, a cheerleader, a visionary, and a hands-down joy to work with. We were both clueless when it came to what shots we wanted, and she managed to capture our entire day perfectly. (Pro tip: Definitely take her up on the engagement shoot!)

Meagan is timely, understanding, positive, and a truly fantastic photographer. My entire family expressed how wonderful she was and how much she added to our special day.

Stop hesitating! Call her! You'll be glad you did!

My Wedding

Meagan Lucy (Meagan Lucy Photographers) instantly makes you feel like you have known her for years! The first time we spoke over the phone we talked for over an hour. I felt like I was talking to my best friend. In the last few months before my wedding I was back in the emergency room twice and just weeks before I had to undergo a treatment. Meagan was so gracious and kind during this very stressful time in our lives. Her positive attitude was infectious! We could not have been more fortunate to have her capture our love in both photos and video. Our wedding video was so far beyond our expectations, we are still speechless when we watch it! She has truly given us memories of our love that will last forever.

My savior!!

Meagan and her team are AMAZING. I got married on October 13th of this year and my now sister in law gifted us with Meagan as our photographer. My sister in law spent countless hours researching and felt that after reviewing the website of Meagan Lucy Photographers that this would be a good choice to capture our day. IT WAS AN AMAZING CHOICE!! We met with Meagan multiple times and spent countless minutes going over every single detail. I would’ve never thought of most of the things we covered but Meagan is a true professional and goes over everything you could ever imagine. I am a crazy person when it comes keeping a timeline and Meagan went over what we were doing when and who would be involved so that come day of, I didn’t even have to worry about a think! We just received our pictures and I’m so in love with how her and her team captured everything. We also went ahead and did the video too, and my gosh I’m so glad we did!! We got our trailer which is a little 1 minute teaser about a week after our wedding. A WEEK. Always, ALWAYS go for the video too. You will not regret it. I could go on and on but I’m so thankful we had Meagan as our photographer, it’s such an important thing for your wedding. Don’t miss out on having beautiful pictures to look back on, you’ve gotta pick the right person and you will absolutely be overjoyed working with Meagan! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who made our pictures unbelievable. You guys truly made our day ten times more special.

This review is a year overdue!

My wife and I met Meagan and her team at the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show here in Sacramento. This was after seeing her listed on Weddingwire. We had a chance to speak with some other photography vendors, but we passed them all up when we didn’t get that vibe.

Our first impression was that Meagan wasn’t just a photographer looking for business. She was a passionate professional really interested in capturing one of the greatest moments of our lives. We immediately booked an appointment to meet with her. Talking to Meagan is like talking to a friend, someone who makes you feel comfortable, calm, like she has everything under control and you don’t need to worry. She helped us envision what was to come, which made every transition on our wedding day smoother than we could’ve ever anticipated.

A year has gone by and we still look at Meagan’s work; thankful that we chose her and honored that she shared her creativity with us.

As a side note, we pushed our wedding up a year (from 2018 to 17) because my mother had cancer. On that day my mother witnessed her eldest son commit himself to a beautiful woman, she was so happy that she didn’t feel any pain from her illness. The moments with my mother that Meagan captured on my wedding day are the last images I have of her and I will always cherish them. She passed away 3 months later.

Sadly, Wedding Wire limits my rating to 5 stars. Without reservation, we highly recommend Meagan Lucy and her team, and “highly” is an understatement.

Meagan Lucy is an excellent wedding photographer! She made every member of my wedding party very comfortable during the photo shoots before and after our ceremony. She captured the essence of our wedding ceremony and reception through film. We just received our wedding album and the quality of the photos is excellent. I would recommend Meagan Lucy photographers to anyone that is looking for the perfect wedding photographer!

Meagan has been our photographer from the beginning - from engagement shoot, wedding, and now many photo shoots as our family expands. She has an amazing eye and beyond technical talent she works well in different environments and with people of all ages. We often get asked "who shot your wedding, we love the photos ?!?", including our brother in law who recently hired her to shoot their wedding and reception. Basically, you won't be disappointed if you hire her and her team!

We are a Sacramento winery and venue that works with a select group of "Preferred Vendors" throughout the year. Megan Lucy Photography has been part of our preferred vendors list for a number of years and our mutual clients couldn't be happier.

Megan and her staff are very professional yet take the time to really get to know their clients in order to create the most authentic representation of them as a couple, always though keeping in mind each individual's personality and style.

Meagan did a fantastic job! She is very professional and conducts her business efficently. She walks you through the process from start to finish before your big day leaving you nothing to worry about but to smile for your photos! She did great with my kids as well and we plan to use her in the future for family photos. I loved her attention to detail and her candid shots!

If you are looking for a photographer in the Sacramento area or close to, Meagan was fabulous. Meagan shot our wedding on september 16th 2017 and i wouldn't have wanted anyone else. In total we received 640 photos from our wedding and close to 300 in our engagement session. She caught every candid moment without even knowing she was there. My husband I both were nervous when it comes to having our photos taken, but Meagan has the best personality and brought us both our of our shells. Highly recommended!!

Megan was the most amazing photographer! She captured so many beautiful pictures of my wedding day and also some amazing engagement pictures that I shared with my friends and family. I will definitely come back to her to have her capture many more of our special moments because she is amazing. Photography was very important to me when I was planning my wedding and I have no regrets, I know I picked the best! Not to mention she has a very sweet and bubbly personality! I LOVE her! Meagan Lucy Photographers was amazing! They were our favorite vendor (and we had quite a bit - decorator, 2 caterers, videographer, florist, etc.). We had a 3-day wedding and they were there to film all parts: Sangeet, Hindu Ceremony, Catholic Ceremony, and reception. 2 events were in Sacramento and 2 in Livermore - the 2 photographers for each event were very prompt and responsive in emails and over phone.

Extra Kudos to Andrea who was our main photographer and there for all days and events. Meagan was also great and was there for 2 days. I really appreciate how we had one main photographer and Andrea was always willing to talk to us over phone about the shots and give us advice on location, what shots to do, how many, and answer our questions. We had a very personalized and fun experience - never felt boring and she made it seem like we had already known her (not like some vendor just trying to rush through day and be done). She was also super detail oriented and when we received photos back, I saw that she had placed our rings in one of the candy jars of our candy bar AND on a buddha (which was one of our name place holders). These pictures and all the pictures were great quality.

My daughter got married on a Sunday late morning/early afternoon in September and she chose Meagan Lucy to photograph the wedding. This turned out to be a great choice. Meagan and her assistant provided 5 star service throughout and stayed late in order to capture the bride and groom being lifted up in chairs over the dance floor toward the end of the reception!

Meagan Lucy from Chris Kight Photography is simply amazing. We researched many photographers in the area and met with 4 of them. We chose Meagan because she is experienced, professional, and friendly. Of all the photographers we met, she provided the best value in combination with experience and quality. She and her assistant shot over 700 photos for our wedding at 3 different locations. She was very accommodating and worked with us beforehand to plan out the shots, including first look, ceremony, post-ceremony with family, reception photos, and our special sunset photos on the balcony. Our package included DVDs of all our photos as well as a customized photo album. We gladly recommend Meagan Lucy to anyone looking for an amazing wedding photographer.

I give Megan at Christopher Kight Photographers the highest recommendation. The basic stuff like keeping in touch, being informative, and breaking down our options for us was well met and we were super satisfied. The amazing part is the above and beyond service we got. Mishaps like our hired planner falling off the face of the earth became less of a big deal because Megan helped us with our day of timeline. Oh, did we mention we were evacuated from our wedding site a day before the wedding? During all of the drama and confusion, Megan got on the phone with my maid of honor and used her contacts and professional knowledge to help arrange a last minute wedding. All of that and we STILL got amazing photographs that we loved and everyone else loved. I cannot recommend their service more. I stand behind this review and hope it helps bring these good people more business. Thank you!!!!

We opted to use a student photographer, Jonathan, and he did a great job. Not only did the pictures turn out great but the value was amazing as well since we paid the student prices. He was on-time, very efficient and made us all feel comfortable. Megan was also very professional throughout the process. We would definitely recommend this company!

We had our wedding at Forest House Lodge in June 2015. Our photographer was Meagan Lucy and her assistant. They were absolutely amazing! Meagan was so fully of energy, knew how to make us laugh, and was so helpful the entire time. She was not intrusive at all and several guests commented on how they didn't even notice that the photographer was there because they were so great at blending in and still getting all of the good shots at the same time. 900 pictures later....they captured every moment perfectly! We are so pleased with our pictures and honestly so surprised they turned out that amazing! There were several other photographers that we interviewed that costs quite a bit more than Christopher Kight and we are so happy that we didn't go with them because our pictures turned out amazing!

Everyone at Christopher Kight photography was amazing to work with. My husband and myself really enjoyed having them capture our special day! Chris was early to the wedding and able to capture everything we could have asked for! He was organized and prompt and gets things done in a fun and timely manner which allowed us to spend more time with friends and family! Megan and amanda were wonderful to work with in the studio. Our engagement photo session was a blast and we got a ton of great pictures without it taking hours and hours! My husband and I are both very busy so this was great! Making the wedding album was made so much easier with their help as well. They really tried to make the process easier by giving a professional opinion on what would look best and being patient to make sure we ultimately got exactly what we wanted. really everything was top notch and when you're running an event with so many moving parts, having something as important as the photographer go smoothly is huge. They're experienced, so they already have an idea of what to do, what photo to get, what you are going to want. their technology is up to date so the viewings and the such are super efficient. Really, they're truly wedding photographers.

Chris was beyond helpful! He was always so prompt on responding to my emails and calls. Since this was my first wedding; I didn't know how things were suppose to go since I didn't have a wedding coordinator. Chris also helped my bridesmaids lace up the back of my wedding dress and after the ceremony helped bustle my dress up! Between Chris (my photographer) and my DJ made my wedding perfect! I couldn't have asked for anything better.

I wasn't sure what I wanted but knew I didn't have time the day of the wedding to figure out poses. I printed out photo's of what I wanted and meet with my gal prior and got all the pictures I wanted plus more and didn't spend a lot of time doing it so I could enjoy the reception. My wife and I used Chris Kight Photo for our wedding ceremony and reception. Our photographer was Meagan and she worked with an assistant. We met with Meagan several times before the wedding to develop a time line for picture taking, this proved to be very useful and helpful for us and our families and wedding parties. Our final pictures came out fantastic. We met with several photographers before deciding on Chris Kight and we were very happy with the results. Definitely recommend them anyone.

Meagan Lucy photographed our wedding this past week. She was absolutely FANTASTIC! She was so on top of everything was able to get all the shots I had asked for despite my bridesmaids and I running late. I was so overwhelmed at one point and she was so sweet and able to help me keep calm. I haven't seen my pictures yet but thinking back to some of the shots she took, I know they will be amazing. You will not go wrong with Meagan. She is AWESOME!

Meagan Lucy was the best! We had so much fun working with her! We were lucky enough to do our engagement photos with her too which turned out fantastic. On wedding day, Meagan Lucy was fantastic. when I went into Christopher I was nervous. Our photographer Andrea was simply perfect!! She was so friendly, attentive, professional and talented. She spoke Spanish which was a huge plus since my husbands grandmother doesn't speak English and most of his family is bilingual, which I thought showed a great deal of respect! She planned ahead of time so she could be as efficient as possible on the day of the wedding and followed through with everything. She was all very conscious of our time restraint and made sure to fit all that we wanted in before she left. I can't wait to see our pictures, I know she did a wonderful job!!!

I love how at ease Chris made us feel. I just knew, after our first visit, that everything was going to be taken care of and be just fine. He is a bit on the pricier side, but you get such good quality pictures that it's so worth it. I love all the packages that he has, which makes putting together a good deal. He told us that it would take up to 3 weeks to be able to view our pictures online- he had them to me in 4 days!

His staff is so gracious and helpful- I appreciate all those that helped me at Chris Kight!

A great photography team! I really liked that they have a studio to meet at rather than just meeting at a local coffee shop. It also allowed us to look at photos that our photographer had done. They were all very nice and professional and worked around our budget without skimping on their services.

We had the honor of Chris of Chris Kight Photographers photograph our June 7th wedding at Catta Verdera. Chris was very familiar with our venue and from the first day we met him he just brought our wedding day to life. We knew we were in good hands, and they day of he was nothing less than perfect. He took control of the day and knew exactly where to be and at what time of the day to get that perfect picture. Chris kept us on schedule which allowed my husband and I to actually enjoy the reception and our guests--all while getting the perfect pictures throughout the day. We have only seen "previews" at this point, but they for sure have kept us hanging on and we cannot wait to see all of the actual photographs. Chris was also flexible with the young kids in our wedding party and knew how to get them in and out of pictures quickly and effortlessly which helped the day run smooth as well.

We had the pleasure of using Christopher Kight. Christopher Kight is the absolute BEST at what he does! First off, he is hilarious and made us feel instantly comfortable when talking with him about everything for the wedding. He worked with our budget and even offered to help us out by being our wedding officiant since we didn't have one, and he legally could marry us! He helped us personalize the wedding vows and he made our ceremony beyond special! I know this is not a review of his officiant skills but just as a note to Christopher Kight saving the day and being our officiant- we could not have picked anyone better to marry us at the ceremony, it felt like a dear old friend was talking to us and no one else was around. Don't worry- his team was still taking amazing pictures of us while he was being the officiant. Throughout the day, he caught every little detail in the photographs and did an exceptional job at keeping to the schedule while getting every picture taken. The wedding photos are absolutely breathtaking- I have shown many people the photos and they all say how our photographer is a genius and incredibly talented (TRUE)! The wedding was everything we hoped for and more, and the photos are timeless!

I've had the priviledge of working with Christopher Kight both as a groom as well as a vendor. I met him originally by working with him through my DJ business over 20 years ago. My wife (then fiancle) is also a wedding MC, so when it was time for us to choose a photographer, we just had to choose from among the best, and we both wanted Chris.

For me, it was all about his work at the reception, and for my fiance, that was important but she's much more into photography than me, so the quaility of the work was important too. Knowing virtually every photographer in town, we chose Chris and were thrilled with his work.

Since then, we've worked at hundreds of weddngs together and more than anything, I appreciate his sense of the moment, realizing that it's not just a photo shoot, but a wedding reception where brides and grooms need to have time to visit with their guests, yet still have quality photos.

Over the years, I've seen photographers come and go, some very talented, others - not so much. Christopher Kight's company did both my engagement and wedding pictures. Originally I had signed up with someone else to photograph my wedding, but after meeting with that company, I realized I had made the wrong decision, so luckily, was able to book with Christopher Kight, last minute. I couldn't be happier with the outcome! My mother has extremely high expectations when it comes to photos, as she is an amateur photographer, and she was very impressed with the quality of photos we received. The pictures that were taken really captured the entire day - from the church ceremony to the party afterward. There were hundreds of pictures to choose from, which made it so difficult to narrow down the pictures for my album.

Speaking about my album, it turned out beautifully! I was sent the prototype before it went to print and had the chance to change any piece of it I wanted, but when I saw what Christopher Kight put together, I didn't need to change anything about it! It looked excellent!

The customer service at Christopher Kight was fantastic! Christopher came to know us by name and was so accommodating to our every wish. His staff was friendly and really made you feel that you were their most important client.

Lastly, I really feel that Christopher Kight's prices were very reasonable. He was willing to work with us to help make us a custom package to make sure we were able to get exactly what we wanted.

An amazing photographer and well worth the money. From the moment I saw CKP work I knew he was the photographer for me; upon meeting with him any doubt in my mind was put aside. He's funny, artistic, and works fast, with great results, so you don't miss a second of your special day. Not only were my wedding photos more beautiful than I ever imagined, the studio went above and beyond to make sure my memories were perfect. When 2 pictures in my album weren't perfect, CKP redid my wedding album. Chris was the photographer at my Nephews wedding and my God-daughters. In both cases there was so much 'out of the box" aesthetic creativity I was amazed. The album was then put together so artistically and uniquely that when I am visiting either of my loved ones I often check out the album newly as a refresher on what a great time we all had at them, but also to marvel at the artistry of the photography. I would hire him in a heartbeat....Maybe I will if my daughter's boyfriend ever gets around to asking her to marry him !!! LOL! OH, and the other thing, he is very agile at getting the wedding party to get in the right positions and moved us around such that it was quick and effecient and we had fun. Then he was just 'there in the background' relatively un-noticed getting his great candid shots that truly captured the moments. Go Chris !! I couldn't be happier with our wedding pictures. Chris and his assistant made our day magical.

The personality of your vendors can both add to or detract from your day. Chris is funny, enthusiastic, well-organized, and fast! He had my whole family laughing, and our big group pictures were finished so quickly that our guests barely beat us to the reception location.

My in-laws' favorite picture of themselves is from our wedding day, and it's because they are genuinely laughing and enjoying having their picture taken. Chris captured that moment perfectly.

He went to three locations for us, including sunset shots on the beach after our reception - people audibly gasp at those shots. He and his staff were a joy to work with, and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

UNBELIEVABLE! Our photographer Andrea and her assistant Christina were the most professional, nice and creative photographers I have ever worked with. We had a HUGE wedding party as well as many, many family members in attendance. Some of them were not as cooperative as they should have been since everyone was excited and running off to cocktail hour, etc. Andrea and Christina were so sweet and patient with all of our guests includin the many children. They not only got ALL of the pictures with all of the different groups that we requested, but did it all with time to spare so we, the bride and groom, could take beautiful pictures with the sun still up! I would recommend this vendor to ANY person for ANY photos they need taken. This was truly a remarkable vendor!

Chris Kight is AWESOME! We had the man himself taking the photos. He knows exactly what he's doing. He gets everyone laughing so the photos have *actual* smiles in them. The packages are, at first glance, expensive but the quality of photos and serve that you receive are worth every penny.

We got our photos back two weeks later, fully edited. Plus, each package includes aaaalll of the photos on a disc (we had about 1000), a professionally designed wedding album, engagement photo shoot, and more.

I would recommend Chris Kight to anyone. He trains photographers so I can only imagine the other ones at his company are great too.

He is more than the most amazing photographer. Very competitively priced for the quality of service. He did mine and 2 other of my friend weddings in a 3 month period and we all loved him!!

I can't say enough about the great experience I had with Chris and his staff. They were really good at listening to what I wanted and then, wow - he produced a portfolio of photographs from my day that far exceeded my expectations!
I had heard so many great things about his studio that I expected them to be expensive and they were not! I was so glad because I really wanted them.
Chris was there with one of his apprentices and, together they were SO organized and SO fun to work with. And, Chris has my gratitude for being so FAST! He took up so little of our time that I was amazed at how many great pictures he got in such a short time. I highly recommend Chris and his talented staff for a really great wedding photography experience.
Update: A few months have gone by and I've had my album for a while. It is so beautiful. It's still new enough that I look at it every day. What a wonderful keepsake. Thank you again Chris and Staff.

Christopher Kight is pheonomenal!!!!! He is outstanding at directing everyone to get the perfect shots in a timely manner. Pictures mean so much to me and I trust him to get the best shots for our big day. We ordered a guestbook with our engagement pictures and it turned out beautiful! (Thanks Meagan!) He is very easy going and was happy to incorporate all of our ideas as well as give us his advice too. He made our families feel at ease and made everyone laugh! He helped us so much at the wedding as well. He made sure we moved through greeting each table in a timely manner without feeling rushed at all! He worked very well with all the other vendors. He is the type of guy you just want to hang out and have a good time with!! I hope we are able to work with him again in the future. Thank you so much Chris. You are truly wonderful!

My photographer was Kim and she was amazing; I can't believe how good our pictures are! Kim was really organized throughout the whole process and wrote down what pictures were most important for her to get during the day. She took pictures at all the important parts of the ceremony and reception, and yet I never really noticed her there. She never got in people's way or made people move out of her way. She just let all of the guests have a great time while she captured the event. We could not have asked for a better photographer.

Christopher Kight is an amazing photographer. He loves photographing weddings and it shows. Book really early (a year or more in advance) and request Christopher Kight himself. I don't like having pictures taken, but he made it fun! His assistants are all wonderful, and I even enjoyed my bridal sitting in their studio.

We live in Sacramento but got married in the Bay Area. We were really struggling with the cost of Bay Area photographers, so decided to look into Sacramento area photographers. We found Chris (the previous owner) at a Sacramento bridal fair, doing a presentation on what to look for in a photographer. We then went to talk to Meagan at the booth, and pretty much decided then and there we wanted to use them. It definitely helped that their package for 2 photographers for 7 hours, plus travel, ended up being about $1,000 below 1-photographer base packages of Bay Area photographers!

Our engagement session in Old Sac was great. Our wedding pictures were beautiful. And every time I went into the office, they were so helpful. Our day-of coordinator in remarked how on top of the schedule Chris was, which made her job that much easier. We highly recommend Meagan Lucy!

Christopher met with us before the wedding and let us know what to expect the day of. He also asked us for a list of photographs that we wanted on that day, that were important to us so he made sure to capture those as well. The day of, he was definitely fast and got some amazing photos. We received a photo book that was included in our package. His assistants were wonderful to work with, very patient and made sure the book was exactly the way we wanted it. It turned out incredible. Thank you!! This is one area that we wanted to make sure we got someone who did good work and had a good reputation. You can't get back that day and those memories, so you want to make sure you have someone who has the experience and does good work.

Meagan Lucy photographed our engagement session and were very happy with the results! We're both pretty private people so public PDA seemed like an uncomfortable idea, but Meagan made it fun and my fiance (who was dreading the day) actually said he enjoyed taking the pictures. Meagan was very flexible with us about scheduling and understanding when we had a change in plans. She was professional throughout and we're excited to have her photograph our wedding next year!

We're glad we decided to go with Christopher Kights photography. We were fortunate enough to have been assigned to Meagan Lucy. She is quick on providing poses and accommodates all of your requests. She takes the time to sit with you to review the pictures you've selected and makes suggestions to crop faces if some photos do not turn out perfectly. We also did a photo sculptures and though my husband's face turned out not so clear, Meagan wanted to make it right and offered a refund which we were very grateful for. Overall, the entire album turned out better than I could've expected. Highly recommend this photographer!

Mr. Kight is awesome to work with, he makes sure you get every shot you want. One of the most efficient people I have ever met. He is prompt and a very funny guy. There prices are more than reasonable. Can't wait for wedding photos. Engagement photos were awesome!

Meagan was the first photographer we met with. After meeting her, we knew we had found the photographer we wanted and we didn't even bother to go to any other appointments. Meagan has a great personality, is easy-going, and extremely well organized. My husband doesn't like to have his picture taken so he was dreading hours of photos, but Meagan made it fun and works fast. I just got the pictures last night and I can't stop looking at them.
