  The best decision.

  Emily and John made all our wedding day photo dreams come true. They are sweet and so fun to be around, and brought an incredibly calming presence to our day. They helped us establish a timeline and were flexible with changes. Most importantly...we are obsessed with the pictures they took and will cherish them forever!!

  Genuine and easygoing photographers! Beautiful photos from this pair!

  Emily and John are just incredible to work with! They are very relaxed and easygoing photographers.
  
  I just love their instagram and their blog; they are two of the most genuine people. That was huge for my husband and me, as we are definitely not the most comfortable in front of a camera.
  
  We had such a fun time during our engagement photo session, even though we had cold dreary weather. There are so many beautiful photos that came out of that afternoon!
  
  On our wedding day, I never felt stressed about looking a certain way or doing an unnatural pose. Emily and John just capture the natural feelings and smiles that come out! We are so grateful that we chose Emily and John to document the biggest day of our lives. They were amazing to work with; everyone from the bridal party and our families cannot say enough good things about the two of them! I would definitely recommend this duo to any bride and groom in the area!

  We also thought the quality and artistic nature of the photo book in our package was top notch.

  Wonderful photographers for Hindu and Christian wedding

  Emily and John McNiel were such a great team to work with! Our wedding was a huge, two ceremony in one day affair with a Hindu ceremony and lunch, 4 hour break for photos and outfit change, then Christian ceremony and evening reception. We knew we'd need to find photographers who would be able to be with us for at least 12 hours, which is longer than most photographers offer for their full day packagers. John and Emily were able to accommodate that for a totally reasonable price and were such a fun, laid back couple who kept us completely at ease all day. I really appreciated their way of guiding us through photos so that we were never guessing how we should pose, but without making us feel unnatural or frozen. And our photos are COMPLETELY GORGEOUS!! I definitely recommend working with Emily and John!

  It has been a month since our wedding and I still can't stop looking at the beautiful pictures that Emily and John took on our wedding day! Photos were one of the most important things of our wedding day and Emily and John captured so many amazing memories. Their laid back attitude helped us stay calm and comfortable for our engagement pictures and wedding pictures. I loved the email reminders that gave tips and suggestions before the wedding. Emily also helped go over the final timeline of the day and made it run so smoothly! I couldn't recommend McNiel photography more for amazing wedding memories.

  You truly cannot put a price tag on the pictures that Emily and John are able to capture during your engagement session and wedding day. Outside of their professionalism, they are incredibly kind (talk about amazing wedding guests, I probably would have invited them even if they weren’t our photographers ) and share an incredible amount of industry knowledge with their Client Guidebook.
  
  They make you feel incredibly at ease on what can be an otherwise stressful day—they encourage moments of “escape” with your significant other (which I highly recommend) to create unforgettable images that you will cherish for the rest of your life.
  
  Their pictures speak for themselves—but these images are cultivated out of the experience that they bring to all of their clients.

  We couldn't have asked for better photographers for our engagement session and wedding! Emily and John are amazing at what they do and are extremely professional and easy to work with.

We appreciated the time they took to get to know us and always kept our wishes and our vision for our wedding paramount. They were sensitive to the groom’s health concerns and seemed to plan ahead for everything. They brought a gentle and reassuring presence to the whole day and were just a joy to have around. They got the best shots while blending in and not creating any pressure or drawing attention to themselves. It was like they were nowhere and everywhere at the same time, and we couldn’t believe the little moments and big emotions their cameras caught. Not only do they possess an extraordinary ability to find just the right angle and combine it with just the right lighting, but they have an uncanny gift for capturing the spirit and beauty of the moment. They were so kind and easygoing - we felt like we could be ourselves around them, no awkward smiles or forced poses.   We were looking for a photographer that could do mostly candid shots of the day as well as a handful of well-positioned shots. Emily and John were so much fun to work with and really captured the day as we will remember it. She's very responsive and accommodating. She even customized our package deal so we were paying for anything we didn't want.

  I've know Emily and John for years and the moment I started wedding planning I didn't even have to hesitate on a photographer(s). Emily and John are an amazing team that work together to help create great heart felt photos. For my wedding I wanted to look back a feel the excitement in the photos and reminisce on how I felt that day. They both did a great job capturing the emotions that were going on throughout the entire day. I recommend them to anyone looking for a wonderful experience both during the wedding and leading up to it. You will never feel pressured and they both work tirelessly to make sure your wedding day is everything you wished it to be and more. Love you guys :)

  My husband and I loved having Emily & John as our photographers on our big day! It was super helpful that Emily met with us a few weeks ahead of time and we came up with a timeline for the entire wedding day. This really helped to keep us organized on our big day as many people know it gets crazy! Our photos were beautiful and they did such a great job, I would recommend them to everyone!

  Emily and John were fantastic to work with! Our wedding day had crazy weather from heavy rain to strong winds to bright and sunny. They were very flexible with the weather and with our very large wedding party. It was important for us to have flexible and adaptable photographers for our wedding, and McNiel Photography was the perfect choice!

  We had Emily photograph our wedding and we couldn't be more happy with our choice. She not only was extremely helpful and very sweet, but she worked with us and our tight budget! She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and to give us everything we wanted for our special day. Emily captured moments that we didn't even know was happening! My husband and I didn't want posed and perfect pictures, we wanted to capture the love and the fun that our guests/bridal party/we had and she did a brilliant job doing that! I cannot say enough how great, fun, caring, and full of ideas that Emily was and how comfortable she made us feel. I highly recommend her :)

  McNeil Photography made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I feel as though many pictures on my wedding day were taken when I just chatting with my new husband and friends. I loved having those moments captured. They were able to capture the day as I remembered it. It was perfect!

  The photos were beautiful! Having both Emily and her husband there was definitely worth the money. They were able to catch important events from different angles, and able to split up and cover more ground (we had ~100 people). They blended right in with the party.

  They uploaded the photos to a private website to share with people. Anyone who viewed it could order prints directly from the site. We bought some nice ones for family members as xmas gifts.

  My husband and I are so happy that we went with McNiel Photography! They made our July wedding wonderful and we now have a beautiful collection of photographs to look back on and cherish! Our package included an engagement session where we were able to go to multiple places. We then received a CD that included all of our pictures. Our album is absolutely gorgeous and of very high quality! We had a say in which pictures were added to it and received a personalized drive with all of our pictures. It came in the cutest wooden box with pictures of us on it. Emily and John were respectful, kind and extremely helpful. They made our wedding very special and I would definitely choose them again in the future!

  This husband-wife duo was amazing to work with: very down to earth and easy to get along with. They were flexible on the day-of and made us feel extremely comfortable. It was obvious that they enjoyed being there and were having fun doing something they love (snapping great pictures). We just got our digital negatives and have so many amazing pics to choose from!!
  I got compliments from several of our guests about how the photographers were just the right balance of unobtrusive yet assertive enough to get the important shots.

  Emily's personality is not bossy nor did she have a "this is MY wedding" attitude, rather a quiet, confident presence which I found wonderful. She really wanted it to be a lifelong memory of one of the greatest days of my life rather than a personal showcase of her art. We felt comfortable following her direction and had natural, creative photos as a result! At the church doing formal bridal party photos prior to the wedding Emily gently, confidently directed us in groups/poses. She incorporated our ideas (yay Pinterest!) and added other awesome ideas for fun combinations of the bridal party and locations around the church grounds. During the prep for the ceremony, the ceremony itself, and the full reception (requiring great creativity because we hosted it at a community center in their basketball gym LOL), Emily was completely independent and roamed around capturing things that we otherwise would have missed out on given the craziness of the day. She allowed us the time to enjoy the day/evening and not worry about making sure she had everything she needed (she is good at being self-sufficient). She had a great eye for even the smallest of details. We are so thankful!!! The color photos and the BW photos (and those BW with a touch of color "pop") are stunning. Emily is truly focused on your desires for the day (whatever they are) and works to customize the experience with your setting/time and is extremely flexible with all the craziness that a wedding day can bring. She adds to the exciting experience and is helpful, rather than being another stress on you as the bride like I've heard other photographers can do.
