Jessica was so nice! She made sure we had everything we had wanted and helped create our dream into a reality. She made mini pies to go with our pi themed wedding and everyone loved them! Everything was delicious and beautiful! We found out that one of our guests had a gluten allergy, and she was happy to add on a gluten free torte to accommodate our need. We highly recommend McKiddy cakes! -

Jessica was lovely and did a fantastic job. We loved her cakes (it was hard to pick flavors for our cake because there were just too many great ones when we were tasting!) Our absolute favorite was her strawberry cake. We showed her our Pinterest ideas for our cake and she brought it to life perfectly and worked with our florist so that real flowers could decorate the cake as well. We also had a sweets bar with treats made by her. Our guests devoured them before we even had a chance to so I'd say that they were very popular! (And we know they were scrumptious from our own tastings prior!) -

McKiddy Cakes was amazing to work with. We enjoyed meeting with her to discuss our vision and what we were thinking of for our cake and she had photos and even life-size displays to show us for example that we could get a better idea of sizes and what we were looking for. Out of all of the different bakeries we taste tested we felt that hers was the most flavorful and we loved that she used natural ingredients and made her baked goods from scratch. We ended up getting cupcakes and a small wedding cake and we love the different flavors she offered for the cupcakes. Each one was unique and our guests love them. We would definitely recommend her services for cakes and cookies! -

15 Year Anniversary Party
Wow, the cupcakes were delicious, so fresh, and loved by all the guest at our 15 year anniversary party. Jessica is wonderful and talented. It was extra special for us, because we finally got the cake and cupcakes that we really wanted, but couldn't afford at our wedding.
We can't wait to order more cupcakes and cakes in the future as we continue to celebrate upcoming events. -

Delicious Cake
I am so glad we found McKiddy cakes. My husband and I attended a wedding day at Nazareth Hall and tried SO many cakes- NONE COMPARED TO THIS. Jessica’s cakes were beyond moist, she has an AMAZING frosting, and a plethora of flavors to choose from!!! We were BEYOND impressed with how our display turned out. The cake and cupcakes were a huge hit!! Every single one was eaten!! We did have a small communication hiccup (my fault), but she made sure everything was correct, contracts were signed, quantities were finalized, and made a beautiful display for us. I absolutely LOVE supporting small, local, businesses. You can tell she pours her heart into her business and has a true passion for baking. -

Amazing!!!
The cupcakes were so cute and the taste was absolutely amazing! My cake was exactly what I wanted! We received compliments all night long about how amazing it was! Would recommend it to everyone. -

Our first meeting with her was great! It all went downhill from there. Every time I spoke with her after that I felt as though I was inconveniencing her. If you're looking for an extremely dense cake with two 2.5" layers and a muffin consistency; or a variety of mini cupcake flavors - this is your vendor. Taste testing was done with mini cupcakes and the consistency of those compared to the actual cake is completely different. I will be fair and say that the flavors of the cake are good.
If you're looking for an actual wedding cake - which is what she calls torted (3 or 4 thinner cake layers with frosting/filling in between) look elsewhere. After finding out this is what it's called, we requested to have it torted and paid extra for it. I received a call at 7:30 p.m. the NIGHT BEFORE my wedding to inform me that she would not be torting the cake. She torted the bottom layer and that was it. The cake was leaning, it did not have the lemon curd in the lemon layers that we requested (she never mentioned that wouldn't be included), and it was dry. The frosting design was not what we agreed on and the way she put the supplied decorations on looked like a child had done it. I specifically told her if it would not look good - to leave them off. I guess there is a lot of truth to the old saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
During our conversation the night before the wedding, she told me no less than 5 times in a condescending tone that SHE was the professional and I needed to trust her. I'm sorry but waiting to call me at 7:30 p.m. the night before the wedding (when I'm in between rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner) was the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL thing anyone could have done. She also sprang on me that night that we wouldn't get the cake base that we had requested because of adding the larger bottom tier. That change had been added a week or two prior - any actual professional vendor would have told me right then and there that it would need to be changed due to sizing. Instead it gets mentioned to me in the middle of "I'm not torting your cake" and then she tries to describe what she's going to put it on - I was so livid at that point there was not even a slight chance that I heard the description, let alone was able to visualize it.
I reached out to her via email after the wedding and received a very vague reply that she was sorry it wasn't what I had hoped for and congratulations. I guess if it were my business at the very least I would refund the extra cost for torting since I didn't deliver that service. But there was no offer to even do that. I'm not looking for a refund beyond what we were charged for the torting that we didn't get. At the end of the day she still performed a service and deserves to be paid for it. But I feel we should be refunded for the services we paid for that we didn't get.
Bottom line - I would not recommend this vendor to anyone.
ADDENDUM (added 12/6/21)
I had a lengthy conversation with the owner expressing our concerns over the last minute notification and her response below to my initial review where we felt she took no accountability and while the information she provided is factual, there were several details left out to make it appear as though we were just difficult clients. (Again, she took no accountability for her role.) However, she did offer and provide compensation for the services we did not receive. I have since received two text messages requesting that I revise my reviews. While I mentioned during our conversation that I would be open to the possibility, it was not something I was required to do. I have updated my rating from 1 to 2 stars. I truly believe she is capable of better and perhaps she just had a bad day and we were the unfortunate ones to experience it. But it is my opinion that there are many areas for improvement with this vendor which is why I only took my rating up by one star.McKiddy Cakes's reply:
Aimee, we responded back to your email. You were not charged for the “torting” and we actually gave you a discounted rate for the additional 12” cake you added instead of the two quarter sheet cakes. While I understand your disappointment that the three tiers were not “torted” (the bottom was), we could not continue as your cake would not have been able to withstand all layers being torted (each layer cut in half) given the fact that you had also asked us numerous times to altar our recipe which made it extremely moist and not then fit for torting. We also gave you a complimentary cake in the summer to help you see that our cake was the same as our mini cupcakes in taste and consistency and you said the cake was good and just as you had remembered it. Please note that we do everything we can as a business to ensure the happiness of our clients, within reason and without compromising our product and quality. We have worked with you, providing over $225 worth of free product. At this juncture, there is no more we are able to do as we provided you with a cake decorated as you described, given you a discount on your cake services, and worked with the supplies you gave us. We take pride in our work and in our product. We do wish you both the best and thank you for choosing McKiddy Cakes as your cake vendor. Disappointed groom
Was very unprofessional,lacks customer service , didn't produce the cake we asked for called 7:30 p.m. the night before our wedding to tell us that she was unable to fulfill our request after telling us that it wouldn't be no problem beforehand funny how things change once the person is paid in full . Also the cake was very dry we didn't even keep the top layer of the cake given that it was so awful we donated it all to a homeless shelter.$600 down the tube and did I also mention the cake was leaning to one side would not recommend this vendor to anyone if you do go with her do not pay her in full until you get what you're asking for. -
