McKenzie was great from our initial phone call all the way through our beautiful photo book! She was very accommodating, personable and did an incredible job capturing the essence of the day in a beautiful way. We love all of our pictures, film and digital. We can't recommend McKenzie enough- she was both professional and easy going which allowed her to blend in with our wedding party and capture all the beautiful, often candid, moments. -

I am so absolutely in love with the photos McKenzie took on my wedding day. She is such a talented artist and knows exactly how to capture the beautiful moments. McKenzie is such a pleasure to work with. She is casual yet professional and definitely experienced (as proven when successfully gathering my unruly family to settle in for a picture). Every detail and emotion was displayed in her photographs and I can't stop looking through them weeks after she sent them to me. My husband and I most definitely recommend her for your wedding day! -

Look no further if you are looking for a wedding photographer. It took me a very long time to find a photographer that I would be comfortable with for my wedding. Once I came across McKenzie's portfolio I was ecstatic, as I love her artistic approach and her ability to capture the most beautiful moments of a wedding in a way that feels genuine, unique, tasteful, and moving.
If Wedding Wire had 1000000 stars to use as a rating I would select them all for every category. McKenzie is communicative, professional, extremely kind, and made everyone (including myself who is typically incredibly awkward when a camera comes out) SO comfortable, had fun little games to lighten the mood and capture playful/AMAZING shots, and was just a pure joy to have at our wedding as a guest. I couldn't recommend a photographer enough.
We just received our wedding photos back and everyone I have sent them to is equally amazed and impressed as my husband and I. I looked at myself in some of them, and was like WOW, that is that me?! Her ability to capture the perfect setting, lighting, and angles is just unreal. She's the best!!!! HIGHLY recommend. -

McKenzie is INCREDIBLE. We could not have asked for a better person to capture our big day. Her photojournalistic approach captured candid moments perfectly where you can feel everyone's true and genuine emotion. McKenzie and her team captured it all better than I could have imagined and I would highly recommend her to anyone :) She overdelivered and went above and beyond by delivering all photos in 1 ) color 2) black and white 3) captured really authentic film moments with point and shoot cameras and 4) a wedding album. I really cannot express how great our experience was. -

There are no words to adequately describe how wonderful and talented this photographer is, but I will try. I was initially drawn to the warmth and genuineness of McKenzie’s photos. As soon as I reached out, she set up a time for us to discuss working together and immediately I felt like I was chatting with an old friend. Her kindness, down to earth attitude, and fun spirit immediately put my photo-aversive husband at ease. We had a blast taking engagement photos. It just felt like a fun day playing in the snow, but she captured the most beautiful intimate moments between us, as well as our goofiness. She assisted me with my entire wedding day timeline, always offering fantastic advice, and helping me to stay calm the week before. On our wedding day McKenzie made miracles: she somehow managed to be everywhere at once, capturing every special moment between us, our family, and our friends. All of our guests who reached out afterwards mentioned how kind, attentive, and overall wonderful McKenzie was. When our photos arrived (incredibly fast too!) we were completely blown away. Somehow the pictures are even better than our memories and this was the best day of our lives! She managed to create images that were elegant without any pretension, brimming with joy and laughter, and most important of all a true representation of us. There is no way we can ever thank her enough for not only being such an integral, fun, supportive part of our day, but also for giving us the most beautiful way reminisce about our favorite day. If you are trying to decide on a wedding photographer, please do not look any further, there’s no better choice you could make. -

McKenzie is SUCH a wonderful person! So kind, helpful, and friendly! She did our engagement photos and wedding photos! She even did a small set of pics for our original wedding day (we postponed the large reception for a year due to covid). Each and every time we were so happy with working with her!! Can't wait to hire her again and again for any future photos we may need!! ❤️ Wonderful photos from a wonderful person!!!! The photos I added are from our small wedding last year. I cant WAIT to see what she got from our larger reception this past weekend!! 😍 -

I am so happy that we went with McKenzie. Her photos of our small, 20-person ceremony really showed how special the day was to us. After COVID came, my husband and I knew we would need to change our original plans to have a 130-person wedding at a small venue in Baltimore. McKenzie was with us every step of the way and so supportive! We still hope to have a larger, 1-year anniversary celebration/wedding this year, and I can't wait to have McKenzie there again to capture the moment.
The couple photos, family photos, and candid shots she captured for us were fantastic. Her photos really help us to relive the day and remember it for all it was. -

Amazing Wedding Photographer!
Mckenzie was a joy to work with! She is very sweet and has a great artistic eye for beautiful photos. We were initially drawn to her natural style and professional but relaxed vibe.
McKenzie gave us great suggestions on where to take photos and how to organize the day. She is great with gently directing family members and getting a wide range of shots of guests. She is great with always being present for the important moments, but being stealthy about it, haha. My husband said he totally forgot she was there taking pictures during our ceremony.
We are so happy with how of photos came out and feel lucky to have had Mckenzie as our photographer! -

A Joy to Work With
We booked McKenzie after seeing the galleries on her website. We loved her candid style and knew she was the right person to document our wedding day. Sure, we wanted portraits but we were most interested in having a professional capture the spirit of the day and the little moments that were bound to get lost. She did not disappoint. Her photography is sincere and beautiful. On top of that, she was a complete joy to work with. As the wedding day approached, my husband and I both commented that we were truly excited to see her on our wedding day. She is warm, down-to-earth, and easy to communicate with. She was quick to respond to our questions, assist us with decisions, and navigate the process. Our photos arrived in a beautiful box that was clearly packaged with care and love. Our sneak peeks and full galleries arrived quicker than we could have imagined. We are so thankful we worked with McKenzie! -

I cannot overstate the incredible experience we had with McKenzie. We knew from our first conversation that working with her would be amazing and that we would have nothing to worry about. My husband and I are both photo-shy and she warmed us up instantly during our engagement shoot, so when our wedding arrived it all felt so natural.
McKenzie has such a warm presence - she was like our buddy during our wedding day. She captured our wedding so beautifully that I am still in awe every time I look through the photos. It's not just pretty pictures - the personality of us, our day, our guests are so clear in the moments she caught.
Her photography and editing style is so beautiful - feeling classic, modern, and organic all at once. Her artistry and creative eye are one of a kind. After the wedding she sent us the sweetest keepsake that we will treasure always, along with our photography.
Did I mention she was 8 months pregnant when she shot our wedding and was on her feet all day with a huge smile on her face the whole time? I know this is a lot of gushing - but it's all true! Working with her was definitely one of the highlights of our whole wedding experience. -
Melissa Sent on 09/29/2018McKenzie photographed our wedding in July of 2018, and we couldn’t be happier with how our photos turned out!! Not only that, but she was a truly a pleasure to work with during our wedding planning process. She had awesome ideas and even helped us find a great place to get ready/take photos before our ceremony!! She is responsive, super helpful, and kind - exactly the kind of person we wanted around on our wedding day. Honestly, McKenzie was our favorite out of all of the wedding vendors we worked with.
We had wedding events on two different days, and McKenzie was amazingly flexible in working with us to customize a photo package to fit our needs. She shot our marriage blessing at a Hindu temple one night, and then our Christian ceremony the next day (with receptions both nights - this woman has stamina!!). My husband and I get such joy from looking back through our wedding weekend photos - McKenzie's work captured all of the emotion, smiles, laughter, and fun in an artistic and timeless style. We're forever grateful to her!
Oh, and McKenzie is great with kids, which was super helpful for the shots we wanted to get that had young family members in them! -

Amrita Sent on 10/02/2018We hired McKenzie for a courthouse wedding photos and also for a family gathering a few months later. Both were very different settings and with different people. Mckenzie was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about her and her photography it. I love her natural style but also she took beautiful portraits. She's wonderful with kids and elderly folks and generally people who need to be somewhat wrangled for photos. Every single time I communicated with her or needed to get in touch with her, she was prompt to respond and everything was very clear. Everything was delivered on time and as discussed. I can't recommend her enough for all of your photography needs! Thank you so much, Mackenzie, for capturing our wedding and making the experience not just painless but delightful.

Sarah Sent on 08/13/2018My husband and I had originally booked a photographer who knew the location of our wedding extremely well and had the photo journalist touch we wanted; when we changed our date, the photographer couldn't do it anymore but suggested reaching out to McKenzie. We would have never found her otherwise and boy were we glad we did! She had never been to my hometown before, but made sure to make a trip a month before the wedding to check out all my favorite spots as capturing the beauty of the streets of my hometown were of utmost importance to me. The day of, she managed and timed our first look and family/bridal party photos perfectly, handled our church's photography limitations with grace, had the forethought to bring clear umbrellas for our walk between venues(it rained!), and even stayed an extra half hour longer when our whole schedule got pushed back. BEST OF ALL, her price was easily half that of other DC photographers; all my friends who insisted I needed to pay at least $5,000 for a good photographer were blown away by her online album she created from our day. We're so thankful to have had McKenzie document our special day; hiring her will easily be one of the best decisions you make for your occasion!

A Sent on 07/19/2018I can't recommend McKenzie enough!! She was wonderful to work with, very kind and empathetic during what can be a stressful time, and truly committed to capturing the sorts of photos that are most meaningful to you personally. She's not going off of a list of cheesy, traditional photos (though of course we did have a list of certain shots we wanted), she's trying to capture moments and personalities, which is exactly what I was looking for in a photographer. Also, she was flexible and able to support us with a shorter than normal photography period and on relatively short notice. Oh and let's not forget, she's INCREDIBLY talented. I couldn't believe how beautiful our wedding day looked through her lens.
