When booking vendors for my October 2025 wedding, I found hair and makeup to be one of the last things I booked, because I was so unsure about what I wanted my hair and makeup to look like. Some brides have a very clear vision for makeup; I was the bride who had the clear vision for my dress, but makeup was something that was harder for me to articulate.
After doing many Google searches and getting some recommendations from a trusted hair stylist, I discovered Mckaylee's page.
It is worth noting that I have a port wine stain (more commonly referred to as a birthmark) covering the majority of the left side of my face, and I feel very self-conscious about going out in public without makeup on (so much so that I have friends who aren't even aware that I have one!). Mckaylee was originally unfamiliar with my condition, but did a great job listening and learning, and spent quite a bit of time on my makeup trial to make sure that we both were happy with the look.
Mckaylee did my trial makeup not once but twice, because she wanted to ensure that everything would look perfect the day of my wedding, and with my port wine stain, it can be difficult for me to find that perfect balance of coverage while also feeling comfortable using blush. In fact, prior to Mckaylee doing my trial makeup, I had a huge aversion to blush because I felt that it drew attention to the redness in my face from my port wine stain. However, now thanks to Mckaylee, I've learned to embrace blush, and watching her do my makeup taught me skills that have improved my own use of makeup. I'm very grateful that she was willing to learn how to best cover my port wine stain, since I know it's not a super common occurrence that most makeup artists encounter, and she did a great job!
On the day of my wedding, Mckaylee showed up promptly, had all of her equipment (chair, lighting, makeup) ready to go, and she worked seamlessly with my hair stylist at the same time, providing makeup services for four bridesmaids in addition to myself.
Not only is she a pro, but I'd go a step further and say that she's a perfectionist, but in the best way! If there's any slight imperfection to your makeup look, Mckaylee is going to fix it and make sure that you look flawless. I've never felt more confident and beautiful than I did when Mckaylee did my makeup, and I also loved the staying power that her makeup application has. I usually have to touch up my makeup throughout the day on a normal work day, but on the day of my wedding, I only touched up my lips once. The rest of the night, I didn't feel self-conscious about how my makeup looked at all, and I know I have Mckaylee to thank for that!
She puts a lot of hard work into what she does, and it shows. I am so grateful that she did my makeup for my wedding, and I would highly recommend her to anyone else out there looking for a flawless look for a special occasion!

I honestly couldn't have picked a better makeup artist for my wedding day! McKaylee was not only incredibly professional but also kind, friendly, and an absolute joy to work with. From the moment we started, she made me feel completely at ease. She did an amazing job with my makeup – I felt the prettiest I’ve ever felt! She is an amazing and experienced artist who made me feel confident and special on my wedding day. Mckaylee was able to create a beautiful and romantic look with so little instruction from my end that complimented my dress and wedding theme. She is adaptable, gentle, flexible, with a great sense of humor, and treats you like a close friend. My makeup remained intact throughout the day even after dancing for hours. Quality work, great vibes, just what you need to get you feeling good for your big day whatever that is!
These ladies are the real deal! I’m not much of a makeup gal and I knew I wanted a natural makeup look that felt light but still glam and Mckaylee came through! I felt so beautiful and she kept hyping me up during my time with her that I walked out of there feeling myself and ready to do my maternity photoshoot. Then Kristelle’s amazing hair skills were so impressive. She left my hair just like i wanted and she was so quick. My makeup and hair lasted until the night, never smudging or coming undone. Both girls made me feel so good with their service and the vibes in their amazing space. I cannot recommend them enough and will definitely continue to come to them whenever I need to feel fabulous. Worth every penny! -

Mackaylee is an amazing artist and her team is top notch. She is very receptive to makeup changes, would highly recommend a makeup trial as she works on meeting the look you want. All I will say is she was right on a nude lip. Very versatile and can do any type of makeup look. Day of the wedding she was on time, full of energy. She is efficient in her pacing as she did 7 incredible makeup looks in a few hours. We were all ready to go before the groomsmen that we didn’t know what to do other than lounge around. Her partner is an amazing hairstylist as well! Would loved to have her do my makeup again in the future. Highly recommend. She has so much passion for what she does, will not disappoint! -

I had a boudoir shoot, and holy cow, she made me look AMAZING!!! I don't normally wear makeup other than a quick swipe of mascara and maybe a light lip tint, so I told her I wanted a smoky eye (there's no way i could ever do that on myself) and to keep the rest somewhat neutral but sultry at the same time.
When she turned me in front of the mirror i definitely let out a "holy s$&t!" and a few other expletives because i looked hot (but it wasn't so much that i didn't still look like "me").
She is a true artist.
My pictures came out amazing and my face looked beautiful, sexy and flawless in my photos.
I can't recommend her enough!!! -

Mckaylee was absolutely amazing, hands down made my wedding day start the best way it could have! I first learned of Mackaylee's services when my friend had her makeup done by her and tagged Mackaylee. My friend looked so beautiful and effortless. I immediately started following her Instagram page and loved all of her makeup looks. I booked her for a makeup lesson and it was worth every dollar. Mackaylee walked through each step with patience and ease. She taught me techniques I'd never learned before (that have been complete game changers in my makeup routine now). She taught me what products work best for my skin and face shape. At the end, when my face was fully done, I felt so beautiful. The best part of the entire process was how comfortable and safe made me feel as a novice makeup learner. I loved my experience with Mackaylee and would HIGHLY recommend her to everyone. Best Experience I’ve Had
I feel compelled to share about my incredible experience with Mckaylee. I had been looking for a make up artist (with no luck) and then one day by chance on the @exploremidtown page on Instagram, they featured Mckaylee. I started to go through her page and I instantly loved her work. I booked her for an event right there on the spot. Fast forward a couple days later and my work’s Christmas party was coming up, so I figured that I’d book her to do my make up for that as well! (If you know me, you know I looove getting all dolled up.) When I walked in Evergreen, I was enamored. The vibe in the place was incredible and I knew this was a great spot when I saw all the smiling faces. Then I got to meet Mckaylee. I was greeted with hugs and I was instantly comfortable. Her love and understanding for her work is beyond, the attention to detail is impeccable, and my goodness just look at it! Some of the ladies there started to come up and the complements started flying. Enter @__hairbypaigecolleen, and she said to me, “Girl, you need your hair curled.” Next thing I know, I’m sitting in a chair make up and hair done and then started the mini photo shoot right there in the salon! The amount of genuine & positive energy of the entire experience was unbeatable. These women are amazing and it would behoove you to check this place out. I can’t wait to go back already. -

Pure Awesomeness
My mom (mother of the bride) and me (bride) first did a trial with McKaylee for makeup and Kris for hair. I’m the type to let people take liberties with makeup and hair because I have no such skills. I trusted McKaylee completely and got SO many compliments just on the trial alone. (Side note: my then-fiancé (now husband) saw me and his eyes got so wide. He had never seen me with that kind of look. Anyway, I asked McKaylee to take the makeup down slightly one notch for the actual wedding and she did so perfectly!) I wanted a semi-glam look but not too glam. That is literally the only direction I gave to McKaylee, by the way. I also showed a picture to Kris for my hair and she created a beautiful low bun that I wanted since I had a dress with an intricate back. We were overall satisfied with the trial and proceeded to hire McKaylee Mejia Artistry for hair and makeup for the wedding day.
Fast forward to my wedding day. McKaylee and Kris had to start relatively early given the amount of people who wanted services. I had some family members (non-bridal party) and bridal party members who wanted both or one of the services on the wedding day and McKaylee accommodated all of them. There was no compromise on quality at all - she and Kris even touched up the ones who went a bit earlier. Not that it was needed honestly - their work clearly held up regardless of time the service was rendered.
McKaylee and Kris saved my mother and I for last. I cannot tell you how satisfied my mom was with how her hair and makeup turned out. She keeps talking about it 3 weeks after the wedding. I’m glad she was satisfied. And because she is happy, I’m happy too. Lol. My hair and makeup held up SO well and I received many, many compliments about how beautiful I looked throughout the night. What was also amazing was that the makeup lasted the ENTIRE night. I mean, I was sweating (it’s june), drinking, and dancing and it didn’t budge. That’s really what you want as a bride - you want to look good for pictures even after you went cray on the dance floor. Lol.
Overall, we (mom and I) are very satisfied with how it all went. Crazy that it’s over and how fast that day went, but I remember feeling so beautiful! What a blessing and I’m glad I didn’t feel otherwise on my wedding day! Thank you so much McKaylee and Kris!
Another side note: I’ve actually had McKaylee do my makeup for my bridal shower and it was more of a fun, spring type of look. I got a lot of compliments on that day and based on the pictures posted of me on that day and actually it convinced some people to hire McKaylee to do their makeup for the wedding day! Highly recommend the trial if you are considering McKaylee Mejia Artistry because she will do what you want (case in point, my mom) or will do what she thinks works best (me!) and both worked out well. -

Macmodoe was recommended to me by a friend and i was hesitant because i’m afraid of makeup that isn’t a reflection of me. I was pleasantly surprised McKaylee’s work. She did an amazing job, was extremely professional and very sweet. I was also very happy with her work after my wedding because the makeup held up all day and night. My appointment was at 10am and when I looked in the mirror at 10pm the makeup looked just as good. I felt beautiful as a bride and would recommend McKaylee to anyone. -

Mckaylee is an amazing makeup artist! I hired her to do my bridesmaids makeup and my moms. She is super friendly and understanding. My mom was a little picky with her makeup and Mckaylee accommodated for her and did exactly what she asked. The quality of the makeup was amazing and lasted all night, through all the happy tears, and didn't feel heavy or caked on at all.

McKaylee is a super talented and great to work with. My two sisters, sister in law, mom, mom in law, and had makeup done by McKaylee and our hair done by Kris. McKaylee was amazing! She was easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable within the first 5 minutes of meeting her. I booked a trial just to make sure we were on the same page and it went perfect. I suggested a slightly more pink color for my eyeshadow day of and she did exactly that. The day of my wedding was obviously a little stressful and she showed up right on time and full of energy for 6:30 am! I’m so thankful she was there to make me beautiful and calm me down. She was professional, thorough and overall great! I will recommend her to all looking for a little glam on their big day or any day! -

My wedding isn’t for a few months but she has been amazing though the whole process. When she did my trial she was so professional, answered all of my questions about skin care to prepare. Since then I have had her do my makeup for my engagement photos, my Fiance Christmas party, and my boudoir photo shoot. She helps me find the right products for my skin type without any pressure to buy. Most importantly I always feel like the most beautiful version of myself, not like I have a mask or I’m hiding behind layers and layers of makeup. I feel really lucky to have found her.

They did an amazing job! Overall for full hair and makeup there were 7 bridesmaid, the mother of the bride and the bride. They are very organized and will touch up or change anything you ask. They even stayed after the ceremony to do touch ups on me. Very friendly and high quality! My makeup stayed on all night and I fell asleep with it on so actually it still looked amazing the next day as well. Lol. I would definitely recommend them to anyone! 😊 -

Great work for a good price. Mckaylee is very good at what she does! She did my makeup for my wedding and stayed on schedule the whole time. It takes 45 min for bridesmaids and 1 hour for the bride. She had an assistant with her who would get everyone's skin "prepped" if they didn't exfoliate yet. A major plus was that I have oily skin and she was able to figure out a way so I wouldn't shine the whole night! My bridesmaids were very happy with how their look turned out and how friendly she was. However, she could improve on her organizational skills. There were multiple times that I sent an in-detail text, but maybe she did not have the time or place to document these things so I had to repeat myself each time. I know she was busy with not only doing makeup for weddings or photoshoots, but also moving homes, taking care of the management side of the salon, and starting up her own gig.
