I can't say enough amazing things about Michelle. I would give her 10 stars if I could. I only got my alterations done here, but they were amazing. I purchased my dress from another salon and was unable to get alterations done there. I saw Michelle recommended in a local group and I contacted her about my alterations. We scheduled a consultation for the following week. She is amazing at whst she does, she is truly so talented. She fixed everything that needed to be fixed: took in the bust, hemmed the dress, and did a bustle. The lace on the dress was extremely detailed, and you would never know she had to hem it. Everything was perfect. She was so flexible with the dates for all 3 appointments. She responded to messages quickly and was always there to answer questions. In my opinion, her prices are great. She steamed my dress and held it until the day before my wedding, as I didn't have anywhere I could keep it. She even steamed my veil for me, as well. She took a video of how to do the bustle so my mom and bridesmaids knew exactly what to do. She is so nice and professional and amazing at what she does. I don't have any personal experience with her custom dresses, but if they are anything like her alterations work, I'm sure they're incredible! -

Dreams Came True after meeting Michelle
I was referred by a friend that had her dress designed by McEllis Brides. My vision was far from traditional and I'm a bigger girl so the shape of the dress had to be flattering. I came in with some example pictures and discussed material, color, etc. The dress I had my heart set on was re-created by Michelle and everything I could dream of. I'm so in love with my dress I'll have to wear it again some day. It's just too perfect. Also, must add she is a perfectionist and if something looked slightly off she would take the time to fix it. -

Michelle was amazing to work with! I wasn't finding a dress I loved in other stores and stumbled upon her shop. She was so creative and helped me realize exactly what I was looking for --- and then I found it at another store. I was so grateful for her help that I used her for my alterations. She worked quickly and they were flawless! She took in the waist, shortened the straps, and added a bustle (that lasted all night!), She also is so friendly and fun to work with. Would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone! -

Amazing!! Very talented and friendly!
Michelle was amazing!! So kind, flexible, and great at what she does! She altered my wedding gown which was a very tough job! It was incredibly beaded and detailed, and had very delicate fabric to work with and she did it beautifully! I would 100% recommend her to everyone!! -

Last Minute White Dress
Michelle is amazing! I had purchased a champagne coloured, gorgeous wedding dress many months ago but when our wedding date changed so that my fiance would be wearing his black and white uniform, I had to switch to white… Michelle was the first shop I went into and the first dress was perfect! She made needed alterations with only two weeks before the wedding. I highly recommend her! -

Michelle, the owner of McEllis Brides, is literally the sweetest woman I have ever met in the bridal attire business! Her professionalism (responsiveness to emails on point), talent, and price was beyond anything I could have hoped for. I was the bride that was very indecisive and asked countless questions and Michelle helped ease my nerves every step of the way.
I had two wedding gowns that needed alterations, a ballgown and a mermaid/fit-and-flare styled gown. My dresses needed cap sleeves removed, beads sewn on, fuller skirts, lining filled, satin spaghetti straps added, and other minor changes and Michelle DELIVERED.
Michelle was even flexible enough to have her brother-in-law unlock her shop on the Saturday evening before my wedding because I FORGOT to pick up my dresses during that day! She sent her brother-in-law to her shop without hesitation.

I had purchased the gown of my dreams and was absolutely in love with it! When I received my gown I was in need of alterations! I was referred to Michelle after I still needed additional alterations on my gown! I contacted her 5 weeks before my wedding date! I was a nervous anxious and excited bride that had a vision for my dress! Michelle was cool, calm, patient and attentive to my thoughts and vision! I can’t stress enough how she paid attention to detail even though I did not purchase my gown from her and contacted her in short notice! She immediately replied to my message and scheduled me for a face to face visit. We had multiple visits until we were both satisfied and my gown was picture perfect! Thank you Michelle I recommend her to any bride for alterations or for purchasing a custom gown! I was able to see her work in the studio and her gowns are beautiful! -

Tisa Sent on 06/02/2018Where do I begin?? I first reached out to Michelle having not gone to try on any dresses. I wanted to at least try on some dresses before I made my decision to drive to Hampton from Maryland. I was also very nervous about the decision to get a custom made dress for my wedding day! So, i went to local bridal salons, tried on dresses and actually put a deposit on a dress that I wasn't very excited about. After some thought, and coaching from a friend, I went back to the bridal salon to get my money back, and made an appointment with Michelle. During our first conversation, she wasn't pushy, she was patient, and explained the process to me from beginning to end. She eased my fears, and made me feel comfortable. I sent her pictures of the type of dress I wanted, and she sent me pictures of a dress she had made that was similar, that made me feel a lot better. On my appointment day, I was nervous but very excited. Michelle had me try on dresses that were made by her that had some of the designs and accents that i wanted. After trying on the first dress I was fully at ease!!! I knew right then and there that I had made the right decision to come to McEllis. The dresses fit like a glove, the material and craftsmanship were excellent! Michelle took my measurements, we picked out material for my beach wedding gown, I paid for the dress and everything was left in Michelle's hands. Michelle is very accommodating and flexible. She makes you feel comfortable and at ease. You actually feel like you've known her for years. From the beginning she responded to every email and phone call right away. She's very professional and most of all she seems to be more excited about your dress than you are!! My dress was everything that i could have ever hoped for!! It was perfect for the beach!! For a custom made gown, the price was unbeatable!! This McEllis dress fit better, felt better and was money well spent!!! I don't regret my decision at all!

It's hatd geese days to find people that can make a dress from scratch , but they are the real deal. I can't recommend them enough, especially if you want a gown or dress with some orginality!

It was everything I had ever wanted (sweetheart neckline, lace, ball gown, vintage feel) and I just “happened” upon Michelle and this dress at a bridal expo. She was accommodating, let me try on the dress then and there, and was very helpful throughout the entire process. I highly recommend McEllis Brides!

Mc Ellis Brides worked around all our schedules to get everyone fitted. Mrs. Michelle, replied in a timely manner to any questions that I had. Also, kept me informed on what was going in with my dress and the other ladies dresses. Very professional setting and I'd recommend Mc Ellis Brides to anyone. Being plus size, I'm so glad I was able to get a dress made for me because nothing off the rack at a bridal shop would fit me. Michelle was amazing! From start to finish, she took tremendous care to make sure my dress what exactly what i wanted. She was very flexible and available via phone at all times. She was efficient, delivered on her promises, and exceeded my expectations. Michelle went above and beyond the call of dress designer. She made me feel like a friend; offering advice and styling tips. She took care of my alterations, as well as the alterations of my mother's and bridesmaids.
