Vendor experience

The experience from beginning to the end was fantastic. The staff was very helpful and professional. The tents and accessories used are all high end quality. I would highly recommend them!!!

Great Rentals for Backyard Wedding

We had a backyard wedding which required a lot of rentals.
We ended up renting a tent, chairs, tables, dance floors, and tableware from McCarthy's. They were easy to work with, very responsive, and provided a lot of flexibility with adding and removing items from our order. They arrived on time to set up and take down the equipment. I would highly recommend them for your rental needs!

Great experience!

We rented our dishware, glassware, and catering equipment from McCarthy’s for our July 2023 wedding at The North Farm in Geneva, NY. The entire process was completely seamless and we were blown away by the quick and reliable customer service and quality of the rentals. Would absolutely recommend using McCarthy’s for your event!

My Favorite Rental Company

I love the team at McCarthy Tents & Events and recommend them to all my clients. Their focus on customer service is one of my favorite aspects about this company. As the owner of the wedding planning company Verve Event Co., it's important that I work with professionals that have the same dedication to customer service and integrity that I demand of our team. The team at McCarthy goes above and beyond. They answer emails within 24 hours, someone always answers the phone, and they do whatever they can to make sure your event goes off without a hitch. Their inventory is constantly being refreshed as the team travels to learn about new offerings in the rental business. The event rental business has many challenges (inventory, logistics, weather, the list goes on) and it takes a dedicated team to accomplish what they do and maintain the reputation they do. Backyard Wedding Success

McCarthys tents and events elevated my backyard wedding to look like a Pinterest dream! All of the staff were super helpful with all my questions and knowing what kind of look I was aiming to create. We rented a few large tents with bistro lighting and lanterns, farm tables, a dance floor/stage, and chiavari chairs. We also ended up renting the luxury mobile restrooms which were a huge hit with our guests! The team who came for setup were really awesome and helpful as well!

Great Team!

We booked McCarthy's to set up for both, our Wedding & Reception. They were willing to set up our tents 3-4 days in advance, which allowed our wedding planners more time to design the spaces. Furthermore, they ran out of pile wood, which was our choice of flooring for our Wedding; however, they upgraded the flooring to Grey Pickle wood, which is significantly more expensive, without extra charge. They have a VAST collection to pick from to create your very own venue and we greatly appreciated their hard work & generosity. Highly Recommend!

Wedding Event

McCarthy Tents is the place to go. Very helpful and professional. I am a mom who used them for our daughters wedding. They worked with me up until the day of the event. From the person who answers the phone to the guys that delivered, All were professional, courteous and kind. Can not recommend them enough

It was great

Through all things pandemic and having to downsize our wedding from 120 guests to 55 guests we decided to splurge with gold Chiavari Chairs and two wine barrels for our wedding. When we postponed McCarthy Tents and Events were so helpful through the postponement process. They even told us they would work with us with whatever date we had chosen for our next date. They worked so well with our venue that we did not need to contact them on the day of our wedding and everything went so seamless.

Best rental company in Rochester!

We rented all our wedding weekend accoutrements with McCarthy and they were absolutely fabulous to work with. Beautiful, reasonably priced linens, tables and chairs. They were responsive, professional and flexible. When the forecast called for rain a few days before my outdoor wedding they worked with me to update my contract quickly, change all the seating, add tents and lighting, etc. I don't recommend that, but they had inventory available at the last minute due to covid, thank goodness! I especially enjoyed working with Jeff and Megan, who calmly handled my many questions and changes. I called the owner, Sean, after hours on his cell when we had a small hiccup with delivery and he could not have been more gracious and fixed the issue right away. The delivery crews were efficient and very nice, making sure I knew how to operate the lights, etc. This is a top notch team of pros. I would never use any other company in the Rochester area.

Bistro Lighting Ambiance

I went to McCarthy Tents & Events to add bistro lighting for a little ambiance under the reception tent and they did not disappoint! Their lights gave the extra oomph the tent needed to have that romantic ambiance you want for a wedding :) The entire staff was friendly and easy to get in touch with, and the person installing the lights sent me pictures to make sure it was what I envisioned!

Our Beautiful Wedding!

My daughter's wedding was spectacular, thanks in part to McCarthy! All went well, starting with the weather. McCarthy's wonderful crew set up the tents in the POURING RAIN 2 days in advance. It kept the ground underneath somewhat drier, and thus was completely dry by Saturday.

The service was awesome - the staff always provided prompt answers to my many questions over 6 months, and had great flexibility near the end with my additions and subtractions. I was quite impressed with how spacious the 40'x100' tent was with 200+ people inside it! I highly recommend McCarthy's for any event!

Best Rental Company In Rochester!

I have worked with McCarthy on countless weddings and events. As an event planner, they are my go to rental company! We have done small linen orders to full wedding tents with all the fixings. They always deliver great products! When getting linens from McCarthy, they are always clean - which is not the case with every rental company. When using them for a tent, I always trust their team to do a great job with professionalism. And the in office staff is truly wonderful, always answering the many many questions I have on behalf of my clients. Thank you for all that you do Team McCarthy!

Great products and super helpful staff!

We rented catering equipment, chairs and flatware from McCarthy for a July 2018 wedding and were thrilled with their services, and the quality of the items we rented. This is a very well-run, organized, and upstanding company to work with! Whenever we called, each person we spoke to was knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. The team allowed us to make changes to our order right up to the last minute, and were super responsive. We'd happily work with them again anytime!

Working with McCarthy Tents & Events was an actual dream. Their team was magnificent to work with leading up to the event and on site. The team showed up earlier than expected to set everything up, which was a blessing. The men who did the tent setup were extremely attentive, smart, and professional and did their best to make sure everything was in keeping with our wishes for our wedding. The quality of the equipment was top notch, and everything was clean and neat, no stains or damage on the white tent, wedding-ready.

We had a lot on our plate getting ready for this day, and McCarthy Tent & Event made our planning MUCH easier, couldn't have done it otherwise!

The team at McCarthy Tents and Events really helped us out of a pinch when I mistakenly cancelled my ordered for a very large Car Show for our dealership (Van Bortel Chevrolet).
They procured a tent, tables, chairs, popcorn machine all the day before the event and had their delivery team installing at 6:30 am that day!

I used McCarthy for last minute outdoor ceremony chairs recommended by Gala Parties Inc who was doing my inside work. I am glad I took the recommendation as my guests ended up waiting a long time for my arrival. Service, quality and price were exceptional.

I connected with Mike from the Buffalo location to plan ALL of our rentals (tent, tables, chairs, lights, linens, dishware, ovens, grills, etc) for our backyard wedding and couldn't have been happier with the level of service I received from him and his team.

Given that I was planning it from a distance I was so appreciative of the responsiveness and the amount of time that McCarthy's spent making sure I understood everything and that there were no surprises along the way.

I had such a great experience with them that I recommended them to my cousin getting married in the Rochester area and she had nothing but positive things to say as well.

With all the moving pieces to coordinate for an outdoor wedding, do yourself a favor and let McCarthy'a handle the rentals, they are simply the BEST!

I had an open air reception at my wedding a couple weeks ago with lighting done by McCarthy Tents. They did a fantastic job!! I can not say enough great things about how easy and fun it was to work with Mike. He checked in with me frequently and was ALWAYS available when I wanted to talk about plans or make changes. I also rented linens from them and they were perfect. Every part about working with McCarthy Tents was flawless. We rented some flatware for our wedding. It really added to the whole day. McCarthy Tents and Events was easy to work with--no fuss! Did not have to worry about delivery/pick-up, etc. Everything went smoothly. Would recommend them to anyone (I already have!) and will use them again in the future!

I recently worked with McCarthy Tents and Events for our Jan wedding and were absolutely blown away by Sean and his team. The space we had our wedding in was rather unique (Gro Moore Farms Greenhouse) and required a lot more work than originally planned and we also ran into a few unforeseen issues with power onsite, but that didn't stop McCarthy from delivering an outstanding level of service. The guys at McCarthy were attentive, responsive, and professional throughout the entire process and stuck with us until everything was perfect! Their product truly helped transform an industrial and somewhat ugly space into an absolutely stunning wedding!! Sean himself even came onsite at 7:30 am on our wedding day to help fix an issue. Our wedding was a dream come true and we couldn't have done it without the help of McCarthy Tents and Events. I will without a doubt recommend them to all my family and friends for all their rental and party planning needs!

McCarthy Tents and Events in Rochester literally saved our wedding.

Our wedding was scheduled for November 1st in Buffalo. After a few months working with another tent vendor in the Buffalo area for the ceremony, that vendor suddenly realized that it would be chilly on November 1st and told us they wouldn't put up a tent on that date.

Fortunately, Google turned up McCarthy. Not only were they willing to put up a tent, it was absolutely perfect. The very professional team at McCarthy gave us a tent with clear sides so the Fall colors could be seen as we took our vows. They installed perfect flooring, heated the tent to a comfortable 72 (it was even warmer than it was indoors for the reception!), and put up romantic lighting to make it perfect. Jeff and everyone at McCarthy and on the job site were absolutely professional throughout. They charged a fair price and told me what I needed (and more importantly, what I did not). I was absolutely thrilled with their work and would use them for any event in the Buffalo or Rochester area.

I highly recommend using McCarthy Tents & Events. They were amazing. They were on time. They transformed our backyard from our relaxing poolside retreat to our beautiful wedding venue. Many of our guest were blown away and expressed they never seen a tent so beautiful. The chandeliers were the icing on the cake.

My wedding coordinator recommended McCarthy's and they were amazing! Our reception was a dream come true thanks to their tents, farm tables, chairs, etc. They worked hard for two days and everything was perfect! I'd recommend them to anyone!

From beginning to end, McCarthy Tents and Events was excellent. Without exception, everyone was friendly, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. The tent was top quality! Our particular venue posed a challenge as it spanned two levels; they masterfully managed it! The sail tent was absolutely beautiful and really gave a wow factor. I have rented chairs, tables and linens in the past. This time we added a tent to the lineup and I am even more impressed. What a great company to do business with! They deserves your business! We will be back!

The guys at McCarthy's were so amazing! I was on the phone with them several times adding to or changing my order and they were nothing but helpful. Even on the morning of our wedding they texted a picture (of some bistro lighting) to me to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it! I was so impressed with this (as there was a certain way I did, and didn't want it). Of course they had followed my verbal request perfectly and it looked great! They also provided linens and Chiavari chairs which made the room look perfect! They made me feel very comfortable that set-up and clean-up would go smoothly and on time. I would highly recommend McCarthy tents and events!

LOVED McCarthy Tents and Events! I priced them out against the other main rental company in Rochester, and McCarthy's prices and customer service far exceeded the competitor. I changed my mind a million times and No one made me feel like I was a bother. I needed a specific lantern color, "guava" and they were able to shop for it over the winter and early spring to find the exact color I wanted! We also rented plate chargers, and had McCarthy set up a seating area that was framed with fabric draped over it, for our guests to relax by the lake instead of having the only seating at the dinner tables. It looked perfect with our family wicker for our garden theme, And a special shout out for Jeff for his time, effort, expertise, and patience with me from my colors to my indecisiveness!

Throughout my wedding planning process I contacted McCarthy via email, phone, and in person and countless occasions with various questions, quotes, and concepts. They always treated me with complete friendliness and respect, and not at all like I was bothering them (which I am sure I was :) They definitely care about the products they put forth and how they will be integrated into your day and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again.

They were very flexible with me as we had a few changes last minute before my wedding. The guys came on time to set up the tent and were very friendly and professional. All my dishes, silverware, chairs, glassware were all nice and clean and the counts were exact the first time and even gave a couple extra just in case. The prices were comparable to other places but you got friendly and professional service from start to finish! Thanks mccarthy's for helping my day go smoothly!

We rented a 40 by 60 tent, tables, chairs, dishes, and linens from McCarthy for our outdoor wedding. Everything was beautiful and professional. Highly recommended. They set up early, had everything done on time, and breakdown and quick and well done.

We rented lanterns from McCarthy's for our wedding reception at the Roger Robach Community Center and we couldn't have been happier with the service. Professional, helpful, and great communicators are just a few words I would use to describe Sean and his team.

They helped make our venue look amazing and what an ambiance at night!! With the lanterns lit, it created such a beautiful atmosphere. They also installed and took down for no additional charge!

McCarthy provided outdoor patio lights for my wedding. They were great to work with and the lights really added to the rustic venue. I knew that I could trust working with them because they had been married at the same venue and so knew the surroundings already. I met them at one of the bridal events in Rochester and they were friendly and eager to help out. Because my wedding was a multiple day event they even allowed me to have the lights up for two full days for the same price. Thanks!

Very easy to work with and their prices were the best of several places we checked. They were flexible and allowed us to change some things about our order (bigger tent, etc.) in the week before the wedding.

McCarthy Tents provided us with a tent and decor for our June 27 wedding. We used this tent in addition to the tent that was already at our reception location. They did a beautiful job! Our daughter got married this past weekend and McCarthy was such a pleasure to work with. They truly were involved and helped to plan the logistics and were very flexible as plans and numbers changed. It is wonderful to work with professionals who know their business so well. Their equipment is top of the line. I couldn't have asked for a better partner in this undertaking. They do their best to remove as much stress as possible and they have a "can do" approach. We used McCarthy's for our outdoor wedding, and I would never go with anyone else! We made so many changes in our months of planning, and they were so flexible with everything! All of my questions were usually answered via email within minutes. Most impressive of all, my wedding morning I was in panic mode because it was supposed to be a 90 degree day and I was worried about the sun since we had changed our minds about tent sides; I emailed and got a phone call back almost right away with help! Now that's service!!

I worked with McCarthy Tent's and Events for my June 2015 wedding. I researched many tent vendors and although their prices were a little more than some others, it was worth the cost. The service was phenomenal, from our on-site visit, to emails back and forth to day of service. The tent, tables, chairs, and everything else we rented from them were in perfect condition, many people said it was the most beautiful tent that had ever seen. I would highly recommend this company for any event you have in upstate or central New York, as they are definitely the best!

Loved working with these guys; they get back to you right away, let you know what they can do and when, and are prompt and professional. Garden Party at the Barn

We hired McCarthy’s for the rental of our tent, dance floor, generator, twinkle lights, fans, and chairs for our wedding.

They were easy to work with and had good communication. It was very convenient to have one vendor capable of supplying all that was required! The tent that we rented was spectacular, and made a huge impression on our guests! Would definitely hire again!!

McCarthy's, working in conjunction with our wedding coordinator, florist, and venue, did an incredible job. We had a magnificent, majestic 60 x 130 pristine tent, napa chairs, white linens, bronze chandeliers . . . breathtaking. The McCarthy family and staff are warm, inviting, and personable . . . easy to deal with. Responsive, efficient, flawless . . . I was amazed at how quickly I received a quote, layouts, changes . . . it was all so easy. A pleasure to deal with.

McCarthy was great - especially in the wake of a pretty difficult caterer/catering experience. I worked very closely with Jeff to get the extensive rentals set up for our day. He was very patient with me and our caterer (who had offered to help work things out with him, but in the end couldn't follow through).

Jeff and his team were responsive and with us every step of the way - which was so valuable to us (especially as we were out of area).

On the day of set up, the staff was kind, helpful, low maintenance and patient. They offered recommendations and asked questions in the most gentle, non-invasive way (considering there was a lot going on). It was amazing how wonderfully and beautifully they had transferred my grandfather's house (though beautiful) into a completely functioning and even more gorgeous venue.

Highly recommend them if you're going "off the grid" or out of venue for your wedding. The price you pay is very worth it - it all comes together!

I wanted lights on the ceiling, and this was pretty much the only vendor that could do it at Bristol Harbour. They charge by the foot, which I think is silly, when they should be charging by the hour it takes to hang them. The lights are already paid for, that's a sunk cost, so they should be charging me for their time. I had a hard time communicating with them, they were really inflexible about stuff, so my dad took over working with them. In the end they hung a few strands of lights and a few lanterns, and it cost us $1000. Silly. I wouldn't have done it but my Dad went through with it.

Very unhappy with this vendor. They started to set up on the wrong day, lost their own equipment, and almost hit a gas line.
