  Matt was awesome. We reached out for a musician very last minute, a week before our event. He was responsible, flexible, professional. He really works to cater to your needs. His music was excellent and the perfect backdrop for our event. Everyone commented 'the music is such a perfect touch!'

  Perfect for cocktails and dinner

  We recently hired Matt to perform at a corporate event during cocktails and dinner. In the lead up to the event, Matt couldn't have been more professional and responsive. He took the time to understand the vibe we were trying to achieve, shared a sample set list for us to react to and was cordial and prompt in every part of our communication.
  
  The day of, he arrived early to set up, taking extra care to ensure everything would go smoothly and most importantly the music was amazing! We opted for a mix of classics ranging from Tom Petty/Van Morrison/Bruce Springsteen to more current songs along the lines DMB/Chris Stapleton/Foo Fighters. Matt performed every song perfectly and our group couldn't have been happier - I caught many people singing along! Don't hesitate to hire Matt! We most certainly will again!

  A showstopper for any event.

  I was lucky enough to meet Matt while searching for someone to perform for a surprise 25th anniversary party that I was hosting for my wife.
  After watching Matt’s videos and emailing with him I realized he was the perfect choice. After the privilege of having him perform at our event, I now realize I underestimated him! Throughout the whole process Matt was responsive and supportive in every way possible. Throughout the night many of my guests commented on how amazing he was and what an asset he was for the event. One of the most memorable moments of the night will be my son Nick (an aspiring vocalist) joining Matt to perform Your Song by Elton John, truly amazing. I can’t recommend Matt. enough to do him justice. He is a showstopper for any event.

  Amazing!

  I cannot say enough good things about Matt! We hired him to play at our small intimate beach wedding and we were over the moon with the vibe he brought to the day. He arrived on time and got himself set up. We had him play during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and throughout dinner. In the hiring process, we had told him a few songs that we were interested in having him play, and he actually sent over live recordings, which were amazing.
  
  On our wedding day, Matt was set up outside. We did have some wind and some of our guests gathered indoors for periods of the night which wasn’t expected. Matt took it upon himself to move inside and outside with the crowd always playing beautiful music. We were really really happy with him and of course his voice and musical ability is so so good. He played covers that we liked better then the actual artists! We asked him to play a Tyler Childers cover for the ceromony, Chris Stapleton for our first dance, and others like Jason isbell during the evening which he did without a hiccup’

  Having an intimate wedding that revolved around food, we wanted entertainment but did not want to break the bank on a band and couldn't stand the thought of cheesy dance tracks bumping from a DJ. Matt was the perfect choice!! He really listened to our music preferences playing all of our favorite artists and songs. The specialness he brought to our ceremony and our first dance by having a very talented musician singing our favorite songs to backdrop these moments was priceless. We were a little hesitant that by having one musician our guests might not have felt inclined to dance but we should not have feared! Matt had everybody up and partying and the night ended in a giant sing along. It was more than we could have ever envisioned or asked for. I would hire him for future parties as he really is so talented and your guests kept mentioning what a wonderful choice we had made.

  The Perfect Musician for Our Wedding!

  We hired Matt Chase to play our wedding ceremony (guitar) and cocktail hour (vocals + guitar) in Scituate, MA this past summer. After hearing him play a few times locally, we knew he'd be the perfect fit for the acoustic atmosphere we were going for. He was SO great to work with, always responding promptly and sharing helpful suggestions to make sure the day ran as smoothly as possible. He customized his set list to fit the vibe we were going for during the cocktail hour, playing songs we had requested along with other fun ones that our guests all enjoyed. AND he even learned our first dance song so he could perform it live for us during the cocktail hour (we wanted to do it before the reception began) - it was absolutely perfect, he did such a phenomenal job!! From start to finish, working with Matt for our wedding was completely seamless and such a great experience - I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful, talented musician for their wedding!

  Matt was excellent throughout the entire process of planning and performing. He sent us numerous samples and emphasized that we could send him our own requests for precessional songs. We ended up requesting 2 songs in addition to what he had available and he performed them beautifully. He continued to play during the cocktail hour and struck a balance between setting the vibe and not overpowering conversations. We’ve had a number of guests comment on how great he was and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a guitarist.

  Matt is an excellent performer and exactly what we were looking for!

  We hired Matt to play at our wedding, it was only 18 people so we wanted some easy background music that we could all enjoy. Matt absolutely knocked it out of the park, he played different types of genres that sounded great with the acoustic guitar. He totally fit the vibe we were looking for. Matt was so easy going throughout the whole process, and even learned a few songs for us to choose from for our first dance and recessional.   The best guitarist!!

  Matt was so fantastic. Not only is he a great person, but a wonderful singer and guitarist. He was so flexible and helped me decide on music. Was extremely professional and everyone just loved him. HIGHLY recommend!

  We can't recommend Matt enough! Matt played guitar at our rehearsal dinner. He was AMAZING and made the evening even more special than it already was! Our rehearsal dinner was a backyard clambake on Cape Cod. Matt was the perfect compliment to this.   A wonderful guitarist!

  I couldn’t be happier with the service Matt provided at my recent wedding ceremony!
  He’s an amazing guitarist and sang beautifully as I walked down the aisle, my guests are still talking about how perfect it was.
  Booking was incredibly easy and although I knew exactly which song I wanted to walk down the aisle too Matt was willing to assist with choosing songs for both the prelude and recessional.
  He truly helped bring my ceremony vision to life and it couldn’t have gone more smoothly.

  Would 110% recommend Matt for any occasion. He played during our ceremony and cocktail hour at our wedding. Our guests had amazing things to say about him and the music that was played. They did not even realize we had someone live until they looked to see where the music was coming from. We always try to catch Matt playing at Wequassett during the summer time. That is where we actually met Matt and asked for his contact info. So friendly, professional, and accommodating. He worked so well with us even after post phoning our wedding due to COVID. Choose Matt! He will not disappoint.

  Matt Chase was an awesome addition to our wedding day. He came by recommendation of a friend and we will be surely recommending him to any of our friends or family getting married in the near future. Matt was easy to work with before the wedding including securing the date, flexibility with song choices, and even sending samples of songs when requested. His punctual arrival on wedding day and patience with the weather (last minute decision to move the ceremony indoors because of rain) were telling of Matt’s personality and professionalism. His acoustic guitar talents were the perfect accompaniment to the rustic ceremony in the barrel room of Newport Vineyards. The skies cleared for the outdoor cocktail hour where Matt continued to play a mix of country and classic song covers. Our guests enjoyed the music, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, yard games, and conversation. If Matt is available for your wedding day, don’t hesitate to book with him!

  We were referred to Matt Chase by our venue, The River Club, and hired him to perform our wedding ceremony and entertain our guests during our cocktail hour. Matt was very easy to communicate with by email. He was familiar with The River Club and didn't require much direction from us, which came as a relief to me—the overly anxious bride! He performed John Mayer's cover of XO for the bridal party entrance (my personal favorite!), Jason Mraz's I Won't Give Up as a beautiful instrumental bridal entrance, and Del Amitri's Roll to Me as an upbeat, instrumental recessional. It was perfect! His live music truly added to the beauty and joy of our day. We look forward to seeing him play around the South Shore area!

  Matt was a pleasure to work with. When we contacted him about being our wedding musician, he responded promptly and did his best to answer all our questions. He even suggested we come see him perform at a brunch nearby Boston. Knowing we may be there, he even performed one of the songs we mentioned we love in one of those first e-mails. He sounded great when we focused on his performance and also sounded great as background music. He has a very impressive, lengthy and diverse song list.
  
  We had two songs in mind for the ceremony he did not already know, but was very willing to learn. We also asked him if we he could shorten our first dance song. He was happy to do so and also very accommodating by provide a recording of this cut version so we could both approve and practice our dance to it.
  
  I would gladly give Matt 5 stars as he was friendly, professional and did an excellent job, but I wish I could do more. We only hired him to play through the first part of the reception at which point we planned to switch to an iPod mix following some speeches. We rented an additional speaker, amp and microphone for those purposes, but found that the rental company gave us the wrong items. Although his time was up and he was in the middle of packing up, Matt offered his help and without us noticing used his own equipment for the speeches. Truly the technical difficulties were the only blemish to a wonderful day, but even then Matt Chase did his best to lend a helping hand.
  
  We highly recommend him. We are hoping to catch some of his shows in the Boston area as both a way to continue supporting him and a way to continue celebrating our magical wedding weekend.
