Reception Dinner at Mastros

The food was absolutely delicious and generous portions! Shashona was great to work with! She offered to set out our menus and name cards. We came to the dinner each table looked perfect! The serving captain was attentive and proactive. The venue was beautiful.

Far exceeded expectation!!

We had originally hoped to book Mastros Ocean Club for our intimate wedding ceremony and dinner, but had a very difficult time getting the coordinator there to respond to our emails and she eventually ghosted us altogether. We reluctantly reached out to the Costa Mesa location expecting a similar response, and we are so glad we did!! Shashona’s responsiveness is impressive, and her attention to detail was much appreciated. Our wedding was postponed once because of the pandemic, and Shashona made rescheduling a breeze. She threw in so many complimentary services for us to thank us for sticking it out with her, but we couldn’t have imagined doing this with anyone else but her! She adjusted her work schedule to be there the day of the wedding, and came early to make sure vendors could drop off and set up without a time crunch. She really went above and beyond for us, and we are so glad we decided to try Mastros Costa Mesa!!

Amazing venue!

Our larger wedding planned in 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic. However, it was a blessing in disguise as Mastros was the perfect place to host a smaller wedding! Ask for the director of events at Mastros. She is amazing and really helpful with planning your dream wedding. The venue, ballroom and outdoor terrace, is on the second floor. Super private and since we had a daytime wedding, we had the whole venue to ourselves (Mastros opens to the public in the late afternoon). The ballroom and terrace are adjacent to each other with adequate airflow as the entrance to the terrace is fairly large. Our ceremony was at the terrace and right next door was the reception. Really convenient. Mastros really turned out better than we could have imagined! Highly recommend.

Wedding Celebration At Mastros

We decided to hold our wedding reception In January at Mastros after the initial visit and knew it would be our best option. From the beginning, we knew we wanted a stress free reception with good food and drinks. Mastros provided just that! The Lemon drops were a hit! We did not have a day of coordinator and the employees at Mastros and Shashona made sure the night went smoothly. It was easy to narrow down the food options . The servers/ bartenders were attentive the entire night. Also, the room/bar area we used for the reception required minimal decorations, yet still looked classy.

Amazing Experience

I was surprised to find out that MASTRO’s host wedding receptions. I’m so glad that we reserved with them. Shashona and Katie made the whole experience so easy and stress free. Everything was set up the way we wanted and the menu options were fantastic. Our serving staff were very professional and many of the guests commented about how great the bartenders were. Everyone loved the high quality food and drinks. The price was very reasonable for a fancy dinner and drinks at MASTRO’s.

Perfection

The event coordinator Shashona Reynolds was amazing. She made our night so spectacular and listened to everything we talked about and made helpful recommendations based on her years of experience. I would highly recommend the Mastro’s team. They executed our wedding day to perfection.

I can’t say enough great things about Shashona. She went above and beyond to insure I had the best birthday experience at Mastros. The moment my friends and I arrived we were greeted and taking care of. Not one time did I have to look for someone to help us. They were always making sure we had everything needed throughout the evening. The staff took great care of us! She definitely knows how to add the lil touches to make your experience memorable. Thank you Shashona and team for being amazing!!!

Mastro's is hands down my favorite restaurant. When it was time for my wedding, I could not think of any better location! Shashona was awesome! She is friendly and helpful, totally answered all of my crazy questions and was very accessible to meet. When it comes to a wedding location that includes catering, no detail can go left untouched. Shashona was very professional and precise in providing the 5 star service that Mastro's is known for. Our ceremony would not have been complete without the amazing work Shashona and the entire Mastro's staff put in to making our wedding perfect. Thanks again Shashona and everyone at Mastro's!

Our main focus, besides getting married of course, was to have excellent food at our wedding. Through our extensive search, we stumbled on Mastro's in Costa Mesa and never looked at another venue. We'd like to preface there are three other Mastro's locations in closer proximity to us, but what sets the Costa Mesa apart from the rest, is access to the modern outdoor drought friendly oasis, Noguchi Garden.

We held our ceremony in Noguchi Garden and the reception on the 2nd floor of Mastro's for 105 guests. It was just absolutely perfect! The Director of Events, Sho, and her team were top notch, and we can't stress it enough! Their attention to detail and service truly sets them apart as a fine dining establishment. Sho met with us on multiple occasions to answer our questions, walk throughs, and most importantly, menu planning to help us stay on budget. She was there during our first look to work with our coordinator to ensure the ceremony space was perfect. She was also present during cocktail hour, and was even serving side dishes to our guest! Sho and her team went above and beyond what we could've ever imagined!

The food was in one word, PERFECTION. Our cocktail hour and dinner is truly what set our wedding from "good" to amazing! Guests are able to select for a wide ranging menu and have their meal cooked to order! Our guests continue to rave about how delicious the meal was and the exception service (there was never an empty glass in sight!). We honestly never imagined that we would be able to fit a restaurant of this caliber in our budget range. Once we spoke to Sho, she was able to help us select a menu within budget. Our total cost would've been comparable to other beautiful venues in Orange County or Los Angeles. We highly recommend checking Mastro's and promise you won't regret it!

Mastro's was everything we knew it would be, Shashona Reynolds and her staff are the best they went above and beyond our needs all our guest after the wedding were talking about Mastro's service and the great food, drinks and the classy restaurant, the guest that had never experience Mastro's will now become regular customers. Shashona made our wedding seem less her staff kept the food coming. I would do it again at Mastro's and would tell anyone that Mastro's is the place to have a wonderful wedding. I can tell you where we will be on our one year anniversary Mastro's.

We found the vendor list that was provided by Mastro's to be very helpful. We selected It's All About the Cake to purchase our cake -- and it was a GREAT choice and we chose White House Florist in Bellflower to purchase our flowers again this choice was an amazing as well!

When we were looking for a venue for our wedding reception, we focused on great food and it had to be Mastro's! Planning our event we had the pleasure to work with Shashona and her assistant Katie. They were wonderful to work with! We had a lot of questions and concerns, but Shashona and Katie never missed a step. From answering emails, calls, and even additional walk-through to plan our event, they helped us address any and all concerns. If you're thinking of the perfect venue for your event, Mastro's is the place! We are so HAPPY we chose Mastro's as our wedding venue. From the staff, customer service, to the beautiful decor....everything exceeded our expectations! Our guests loved the food, and even said that all weddings should be like ours. Shashona is amazing!!! She is the main reason that we decided on this particular Mastro's location. We had checked out the Beverly Hills and the Newport Beach locations because we knew we wanted to do it at a Mastros since it's one of our favorite restaurants. But Shashona's professionalism and responsiveness convinced me that she was the one we needed to work with and we are so glad we did. She made everything so simple for us and even offered to help out with things outside of her domain such as ceremony rentals and helping us secure a permit for our ceremony, which was outside at the Noguchi Garden. She also recommended vendors that she had worked with before. All our guests raved about the amazing food, drinks and attentive service. Everything came out perfectly because of Shashona and her wonderful staff. I would absolutely recommend this venue for your wedding since not only do they have the best food, everything is already included so you won't have to deal with a lot of additional vendors. Our guests were screaming when the parade of seafood towers came out. Very glad we decided to do our grand entrance before that since I'm pretty sure nobody would've cared about us once the seafood towers were in front of them. We would've definitely picked this location if we were to decide again. Thank you so much Shashona and all the staff at Mastro's!!

We are so happy we chose Mastro's Steakhouse as our wedding reception venue. We had the best time and were catered to all night by their awesome servers and staff. They treated all our guests with special attention and care. The space was perfect for our smaller wedding of around 70 guests and actually felt quite spacious even with our dance floor. We rented the Metropolitan Room and Terrace and would highly recommend it. The terrace was furnished so beautifully by the restaurant. I cannot say enough about Shashona and her assistant Katie. They went above and beyond to be super flexible to our needs and even help with our wedding decor. You will not find anyone easier to work with than Shashona. She is very experienced and professional and makes everything seem so easy peasy. We had the most memorable night and gorgeous reception and everything went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend Mastro's Steakhouse to any modern or classic bride searching for a unique yet fully equipped venue with awesome food at a reasonable price.

When we realized we could be married in the Noguchi Garden and have the whole wedding arranged (and catered) by Mastro’s it was frankly game over for every other venue. To be honest, we didn’t even consider any other venues from that point forward.

As soon as we started working with Mastro’s the experience was absolutely first class, and the reason for our positive experience was Shashona Reynolds. Shashona was wonderful from start to finish. Not only did she facilitate everything, but she worked brilliantly with our other vendors as well. We were able to draw on her vast experience of events at Mastro’s in so many areas - suggestions on how to use our food and beverage choices, layout of the room, vendor recommendations, and she even got us permission to have our dogs in the garden (the Irvine Company does not usually allow dogs in the Noguchi).

As the wedding got closer Shashona worked with our day of coordinator, and we were able to drop by the restaurant and check out the room whenever we wanted. On the day of the wedding Shashona was at the restaurant early in the day and stayed almost until the very end. She was totally hands on to make sure everything went smoothly - at one point I looked up to find her serving me brussel sprouts!

Now we are back from our honeymoon many of our guests have told us how much they enjoyed the day - we have heard many comments along the lines of “best wedding ever”. I think that in large part our guests feel that way because of the venue - the quality of the food and drink, the first class service, and just how beautifully smoothly the whole day flowed. Choosing Mastro’s was probably the best decision we made when planning our wedding; I recommend working with Shashona and Mastro’s without hesitation; you won’t regret it!

Shashona and her staff at Mastro's made our event so easy and wonderful! Everything turned out so much better than expected. We didn't even have much time to give them before the event date as we never even considered places like this from the beginning. Our plans went from just making a simple reservation for a large table among regular patrons, but evolved into an intimate and private experience! For not much more than we were already planning on spending, we were able to have the private dining room and balcony all to ourselves, before regular restaurant hours! So many, if not all of our guests were pleasantly surprised at the arrangement we were able to make. Amazing experience all around! I would recommend Mastro's and Shashona's staff to anyone looking to create a simple, yet elegant, private dining experience.

Out of all the Mastro's restaurant in the LA/OC area, the Costa Mesa location is the most intimate place to hold a wedding or a private event. The second floor has a huge outdoor patio area which is perfect for a ceremony or cocktail hour.

Shashona was delightful to work with, she walked me through the whole process from beginning to the end. Considering I didn't hire a wedding coordinator, we were still able to pull off a magnificent and memorable night for my guests and I.

The food and service is was excellent, it was no different from any other time we've dined there.

I had my wedding reception at Mastro's Steakhouse in Costa Mesa, CA. Shashona Reynolds, the Director of Events, was absolutely fabulous! The process of actually booking the event was very easy to do.

On the big day, everyone in my party was just amazed at how polite and attentive our waiters were. My family had such a wonderful time. The food was so delicious, it really was the best steak I've ever had.

I couldn't of been any happier!

I would most definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who would consider it. I see myself booking another event at Mastro's in the near future! Thank you so much for everything!

We love the food at Mastro’s and were so excited to find out they did weddings! We had both our ceremony and reception there for about 70 people. The ceremony was held on the balcony and our reception followed directly after in the adjacent Metropolitan Room. We were also able to take photos in the beautiful Noguchi Garden!

The experience leading up to and the wedding itself were perfect! Shashona (the event director) helped guide us through the whole process at Mastro’s. From the food selection, table placement, to arranging all of our rentals, she made the entire process feel seamless and much easier than I expected for such a large event. She was also very responsive to any questions we had and flexible with our requests.

We were so impressed by how smoothly everything went. Many of our guests commented on how the flow of service was all so seamless. Guests were able to order their meal on-the-spot, everyone was served at the same time (no guests waiting around for their food) and, of course, the food was incredible! We had many guests tell us that they would be going back to the restaurant on their own.

We are SO happy that we picked Mastro’s for our wedding venue! The day was absolutely perfect.

Mastro's Steakhouse was the perfect place to hold our reception. They were very flexible when it came to changes we needed to make in the menu, the amount of people we were expecting, and the date that the event took place. Shashona was great to work with! She answered all of our questions promptly and made sure that we were taken care of. The food was amazing. Many of our guests had never been to Mastro's prior to the wedding; they were amazed with the quality and the taste! Our guests also enjoyed the private bar and the terrace where we held the dancing portion of our reception. The staff was great that night! They were able to answer our questions and made sure to provide us with anything we asked for. It was important for us to hold our reception at a place with meaning for my husband and I, and a place that would make our wedding reception memorable to all of our guests, Mastro’s was perfect!

When my fiancé and I started the wedding process, the 3 most important things for us were family, friends, and food. Mastro’s exceeded our expectation on providing the venue and food for our intimate wedding. Our wedding was small with 64 of our closest family and friends. We wanted a no nonsense wedding: ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner/reception, and call it a night. Shashona was the best person EVER to work with. She reassured me during my moments of stress that everything would turn out wonderfully and it did. She took care of our rentals, worked with my coordinator, and most importantly provided me a sense of calm. The backdrop of the Noguchi Gardens was used for our pictures. I loved the convenience of the ceremony being out on the terrace which then turned into the location for the cocktail hour which was a few steps away from the dinner in the upstairs banquet room. The drinks, appetizers, and dinner were extraordinary and did not disappoint! Everyone couldn’t stop raving about the food and how it was nice to have such an intimate gathering which represented exactly who we were as a couple! Shashona was an unbelievable wonderful events coordinator and I would highly recommend Mastro’s for a wedding venue! Thank you Mastro’s.

We had our wedding ceremony at the Noguchi Garden and reception on the top floor of Mastro's. Our wedding was for approximately 90 guests and Mastro's was the most perfect reception space for a party of our size. We used the entire interior for our guests dinner, the board room was used to store items and for my vendors, and the terrace served the dual purpose of our cocktail hour space and our dancefloor after dinner.

The team at Mastro's was beyond exceptional. Shashona, the events coordinator, was there every step of the planning process to ensure that everything was exactly as we wanted. She assisted with furntire rentals for the ceremony, lighting for the dancefloor, menu selections, wine selections and even recommended a vendor for our cake. The banquet captain Emily was extremely on top of everything on the day of our wedding. The orders were taken promptly, drinks were filled regularly and the entire event flowed smoothly. The service was second to none and the food, as expected, was perfect.

Our wedding was better than we could have ever expected- it was absolutely perfect and we would not hesitate to have another event at Mastro's.

You know how they say when a bride tries on THE dress they just know? Well that's how I felt about Mastro's when I first stepped foot in the joint. I had my wedding reception at here and I couldn't of asked for a better venue or staff. Everything about this place was just perfect, from the food to the accomodating event coordinator, Shashona.

They have a second floor that has a main dining area with a bar and a terrace. There is also another little room called "The Boardroom". I rented the whole top floor. The boardroom was split in half. One was our changing and storage room and the other half we used for a photobooth. The main dining area can hold about 100 people. When it came down to dinner time, the staff was really organized since the dinner is made to order. They took our orders promptly and the food came out pretty quick. I was worried about how long it would take to take everyones orders, but that was not an issue at all.

You can also hold the ceremony on the terrace, if your party is about 40 or less. 50 tops. I held mine at the Noguchi Garden next door and it was perfect since we just had to walk to the restaurant after. I rented lounge furniture for the terrace and kept some of their existing patio furniture. But I'm told they were getting new lounge furniture for the terrace, but would not get it in time for my wedding. They also have heatlamps incase it gets too chilly at night.

The food was just unbelievable. We had the following:
Appetizers
Tempura Asparagus, Chicken Yakitori, and Crab stuffed mushrooms. All were very delicious, but the crab stuffed mushrooms really stood out. The tempura asparagus came in little shot glasses with sauce that tasted like ponzu, and it was really good. The chicken yakitori had a tempura taste to it and was also good, very filling for an appetizer.

Dinner
I started with caesars salad and ordered the petit filet. It lived up to the Mastro's name. Juicy and flavorful.

Sides
Garlic mashed potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and creamed corn. All very yummy.

Shashona was great to work with and was really helpful and accomodating to my needs. She was there the day of to help out with the setting up of the rentals and just to make sure everything went to plan. I would totally recommend Mastro's for any event. Everyone is still raving about how good the food was and thanking me for having my wedding there!

Mastro's was a perfect venue for our small wedding. We had 80 guests and were also able to fit in a small dance floor in front of the DJ. The dining room itself is very cozy and there is also the advantage of being able to reserve the board room which you can use for other purposes. I had the room divided down the middle and used half as a changing room and the other half as a room for my vendors.

The upstairs also has a small balcony which we used as our ceremony site. There is also a Japanese garden for larger parties but the balcony was perfect for us. We also rented a tent covering which gave the place a very elegant look.

Mastro's Events Coordinator, Shashona, was also really helpful from the very beginning until the end. She helped me order party rentals, gave insight on room structure and placement, assisted with linens and lighting, etc. She was an amazing coordinator and the perfect person to help plan a wedding at Mastro’s.

The most positive feedback I received from all of my guests was how amazing the food was and how they were going to bring back their friends and families for a treat. I especially liked that our guests could order at the restaurant instead of ordering months ahead with the invitation. This meant that the food came out piping hot and perfect. Also, the "swarm service" made our guests feel like they were getting a little extra special attention.

Overall, we thought Mastro’s was the perfect choice to host a small and intimate wedding. It was the perfect combination of sophistication and fun!

I had my ceremony and reception at Mastro's. Shashona (the event director) was fabulous to work with and responded to all my questions and emails so quickly. I was suppose to have the ceremony at Noguchi Garden next to it which is arranged by Mastro's, but due to rainy and windy weather, had to change plans last minute. Shashona and my wedding planner (Natalie Goode of A Good Affair) arranged, decorated, and made all the necessary arrangements to move it onto Mastro's Terrace on the second floor all in 24 hours. The service was impeccable and the food delicious as always. People may think Mastro's is an expensive restaurant and would not think to have a reception for 90, but it was cheaper than many of the hotels that we looked into (and guaranteed that the food would be great). The most important thing in the wedding for me was having delicious food...ever been to a wedding where the food was BLECK! I had lots of compliments that this was the best wedding dinner they had ever had.

I had such a GREAT time, and the ceremony area was gorgeous despite all the last minute planning. I would highly recommend this venue.

When we were searching for wedding venues in southern California, my now husband and I almost skipped visiting Mastro's and the Noguchi Sculpture Garden - but after being delightfully surprised by the beautiful minimalist outdoor space and the great ambiance and service at the restaurant, we were pretty much convinced it was the perfect place for us to get married.

Shashona (the Director of Events) was very helpful and accommodating to our needs and her advice and recommendations throughout the wedding process took a huge load off my shoulders.

The Noguchi Sculpture Garden (or California Scenario) is a great hidden gem in Costa Mesa, and I loved being able to have our ceremony in such a unique and beautiful setting. Also, this pretty much goes without saying but the food at Mastro's is absolutely amazing - I had multiple guests tell me after (and during) the wedding that we had the best food of any wedding they had ever attended.

Both our ceremony and reception turned out great and we were so happy to be able to host our big day in such a beautiful place.

Shashona the event coordinator was very flexible and accomodated our requests in regards to setup. venue was classy. service excellent. food was amazing. my family and friends had a splendid evening celebration.

Beautiful Venue. Good Food. But... : (

The restaurant manager is very responsive and answered all of our 101 questions we had during the process. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is exceptional. Our servers took the bride and grooms order first we were asked to order our salad, main entrée, and dessert (offered all three for bride and groom). We received the appetizer within 30 minutes of the event starting. However, things started going down hill after we received our salad. Our salad was not what we asked for, my wife was served a chopped salad instead of Cesear salad. My wife loves Cesear, where ever she goes, she always has to have that Cesear salad. The look of disappointment on her face was not something I wanted to see on our wedding night. She definitely did not enjoy her chopped salad. But knowing my wife and being an inconvenience, she did not want to say anything because not only was her order wrong, but other guests attending had the same issue. Now to our main entrées, that came out about three hours after the salad (3 HOURS)! Our guest was super hungry and kept asking when would the food be served. It was served 1 hour before our event was over. Not only that, my wife and again, the guest were served the wrong order. My wife ordered the 22 oz rib eye and was served an 8oz instead. It was the end of it for her, she was not happy. She's not one to say much, but after waiting so long she definitely spoke up and asked for it to be switched. We had a pregnant guest ordering steak and receiving it rare instead of cooked. It had to be sent back. Other guests received the wrong orders, servers bickering at each other for not serving it to the correct person or forgetting whose is whose. This is Mastro's, I was hoping for some really good services especially if I am paying 18% gratuity. Before the event, we requested to limit alcohol purchases to $1,500 max. However, the server informed us that they did the count and the tab came out to be $2,100 - way past our $1,500 limit. When we asked to raise the limit to $500 higher, we were charged $3,100 in total for alcohol drinks at the end of the event - way past our $1,500 limit to begin with. Before the event, we were also promised there will be Kids menu. During the event, our guests were informed there are no Kids menu. Our young nieces and nephews were sad that they didn't get to eat Chicken Fingers with French Fries or spagatti marinara options. Their parents had to order main entrees for them, which made no sense to me as a groom. They were all under the age of 7 and pretty much forced to order a main entrée that they did not enjoy. Overall, the food was delicious, but I felt like more communication to be made to us as the bride and groom so we can provide a back up plan to entertain our guests more as we were waiting for food. The waiting game definitely cost us more money in our pocket because everyone started relying on alcohol or soda to fill them up. Overall, I wish I can take time back and fill in the empty three hours we were waiting on for food.
