Great Officiant Who Adapt to Each Couple!

Reverend Martin officiated our wedding and did a phenomenal job! We weren’t really sure about what direction we wanted to take the ceremony. After being introduced to Reverend Martin, we felt very confident the ceremony would get off without a hitch! Reverend Martin provided several options for ceremonies and previewed the program with us. He was super flexible with his ceremony script and even made great suggestions to personalize it!

During our rehearsal, Reverend Martin orchestrated the whole proceeding and coached us through all the little things we definitely would have forgotten. During the actual ceremony, Reverend Martin performed a wonderful ceremony for us and made the whole affair match the elegance of our venue. Thank you Reverend Martin!!

Very accommodating & genuinely cared about our ceremony

I would definitely recommend Rev. Martin because he so very helpful in our very tiny event! He was willing to accommodate our location and time without supplementing every item with a fee. I called around and no one was as eager to help make our day special! It was perfect!

Wonderful person and officiant

Martin was informative, flexible, and gave the perfect amount of suggestions during planning. At the wedding, he was an invaluable part of how the day unfolded with an uncanny intuition for when a suggestion for this or that would make for a smoother experience. He worked with us to produce perfect vows and we look back on the experience with happiness that he was with us on this special day. In the end, he's a great officiant but most important, he's a wonderful person and it shows in everything he does.

Perfect officiant

Reverend Martin Lavery was the perfect choice for us. He got to know us, helped us figure out an ideal ceremony (from the flow, to the style, even with bridal party ideas) - and then most importantly, executed perfectly. He is very clear and understandable, great inflection of voice, paced the ceremony well, stayed right on script without having to keep his nose in the papers to read it. Friendly with the family, available and so helpful during the rehearsal the day before.
Can't say enough about him, everything went perfectly with Rev Lavery -- thank you so much!

Great Job Martin

Martin was an awesome officiant and the perfect choice for our elopement! He helped out with more than just officiating the ceremony! He helped with taking photos and with music! We have already recommended him to a few of our friends who will be starting the planning process soon!

The Amazing Martin Lavery!

Of all of our vendors, Martin was the most reassuring and helpful to our special day. Martin gave us a clear and flexible script for the service so we knew exactly what would be included and allowed us to make any changes for it to be perfect. He responded to our emails/texts quickly and even late at night. He was on time and very helpful in coordination during the rehearsal and wedding day. And on top of all of this, Martin is just an overall wholesome and charming man! Better than we could have ever imagined.

Had our beautiful ceremony thank to Rev Martin’s service!!!

Rev. Martin was awesome!!! He is very professional, very well-organized with scripts for different types of services. Our tree planting ceremony was thrown in very close to the day and he put it together so well. We interviewed several officiants but did not feel right and we were so happy that we got connected with him and he had time for us. Couldn’t be happier! Definitely highly recommended!!!

A Fantastic Ceremony with Rev. Martin

I highly recommend Rev. Martin. He took the time to get to know us as a couple and made us feel comfortable leading up to the big day. He walked us through everything to expect and made last-minute adjustments without a second thought. He was a fantastic officiant of the ceremony - we received many compliments on how our ceremony went. By the end of the night, he felt part of the family. You'll be in good hands with Rev. Martin.

Couldn’t be happier!

Reverend Martin was an absolute joy to work with! We have been in contact for about a year (thanks to covid and my fiancé’s deployment) and he was with me through every change and heartbreak along the way! He constantly reassured me that everything was going to be perfect and he was right! Not only was he professional, but he felt like family by the time the day finally came; our day would not have been what it was without him. If you’re looking for an officiant, look no further! Martin made my daughter's day extra special

The ceremony that Martin put together was wonderful. He was able to incorporate my daughter's Irish heritage by including an Irish Blessing that indeed brought a tear to all of our eyes.
He really embodied the bride and grooms spirit in the ceremony as if he had known them forever. The blessing over the food was also a special touch that everyone enjoyed.
It was a blessing to have him officiate the wedding especially since we just made it to have the wedding because all venues were shut down in Maryland because of the pandemic. In addition to the luck of the Irish we had the luck of Martin.

Perfect Ceremony

My new husband and I feel so lucky that we found Reverend Martin Lavery. He made our wedding day exactly how we imagined. We had a combination of a traditional ceremony as well some unique moments that made it more personal for us and our guests. Wonderful Wedding Officiant

When the family friend who would have been our officiant backed out, my wife and I were devastated. For months we struggled to find someone who fit what we wanted. Martin Lavery was a godsend. With the help of Rev. Martin we were able to craft the most beautiful ceremony for our wedding. It was my favorite part of the whole day hands down. He told us from day one that he wanted to help us create a ceremony that was exactly what we wanted and a reflection of us. We were able to do exactly that.

To top it off Rev. Martin was kind, funny, accommodating, helpful and a dream to work with. We had actually previously booked an officiant that ended up not working out for a variety of reasons and as a result were scared of being able to find someone else in time that was a good fit. Rev. Martin was a breathe of fresh air, and we are so very thankful we found him here at WeddingWire. The reviews are no exaggeration. He really is that great.

My husband and I, and our families, cannot say enough wonderful things about Rev. Martin Lavery.

From initial contact right up until our wedding day, Rev. Martin was an invaluable resource for all things wedding ceremony. A response to the very first point of contact included a massive document of different ceremony ideas, including readings, vows, and ceremonial pieces. From there on out, he was incredibly accommodating to all of our (slightly off-the-wall) ideas and edits.

He was always there to calm nerves, answer questions, or even just to chat, and we always received an incredibly quick reply.

Circumstances did not allow him to attend our rehearsal, but he extended about an hour long courtesy FaceTime call with us to explain all of the details of our ceremony, including giving us all of his best advice for conducting rehearsal by ourselves. This was SO appreciated and SO helpful!!!

I had attended so many weddings where the officiant went completely off track and left the wedding guests thinking "what?". There are absolutely no worries of this with Rev. Martin officiating. He has an absolutely wonderful speaking voice as well.

Our ceremony was perfectly us and completely tailored to us, our family, and our friends. Our wedding guests still cannot stop talking about how beautiful our wedding ceremony was! It was my husband's and I's favorite part of our wedding.

Rev. Martin also worked with our photographer to add parts to the ceremony which allowed for the opportunity for extra photographs, which we appreciated and hadn't given a thought to beforehand.

Rev. Martin is a wonderful, personable, and friendly person which translates into an exceptional officiant -- he went over and beyond the call of duty! We can't thank him enough for making our wedding day extra special.

We wholeheartedly recommend Rev. Martin to anyone looking for the perfect officiant for their special day! You will not be disappointed!

Martin was so helpful from beginning to end. He responded quickly, sent examples, readings, quotes, videos, and really wanted my husband and I to have the best ceremony. He was very flexible on a place and time for meeting and the week before the wedding we even video chatted to confirm and go over everything, including how to pronounce names. I got SO many compliments after the ceremony about how perfect and beautiful it was. I highly recommend him!!

Reverend Martin was absolutely amazing for our wedding. He was compassionate, responsive and reassuring when we requested his help to get married in only 2 months before my husband's overseas deployment. I was a very nervous bride with condensed planning time and Rev Martin made it so easy for me to not worry about our officiant and ceremony. His ceremony was beautiful and had our 175 person guest list in tears. He met with us via video conference, in person and at our rehearsal to do whatever it took to ensure our wedding was perfect. We are forever grateful.

Rev. Martin was wonderful!! He worked with us throughout the process of putting together our ceremony, sent us helpful materials and truly made it about us without making us feel rushed. We tweaked it up until the very end and he was always super responsive, getting back to us almost immediately! Rev. Reverend Martin was a pleasure to work with in the months approaching our wedding in September. He was super responsive to email and sent tons of options for our ceremony. In all of the hectic planning that goes into a wedding, getting answers and information from Martin was very easy and the least stressful part of the event. We spoke over the phone the day before our wedding and he gave us some great advice that put us at ease. Our guests thought the ceremony was very sweet and went off without a hitch! Reverend Martin was absolutely amazing. From the moment we decided to use his services he was super friendly, helpful, understanding, and sweet. Reverend Martin and I communicated mainly through emails (solely because I was so busy with wedding planning/life) where we decided step by step how the ceremony would go and it was EVERYTHING i was hoping for. Rev. Martin was an AMAZING choice for a wedding officiant, and we were so pleased to have the opportunity to work with him for our wedding. He was one of the most organized and thorough vendors that we've ever worked with, and conducted multiple Skype meetings with us before joining us in person for our rehearsal and, of course, for the wedding itself.

Rev. Martin accommodated all of our requests and had many, many amazing suggestions for things to consider for our ceremony. Additionally, he provided us with a massive, customized document that contained numerous possible readings, poems, ceremony ideas (water ceremony, handfasting, etc.). With Rev. Martin's assistance, we went from "totally clueless" about what to do for our ceremony to having a ceremony in which my wife, myself, numerous attendees, and even Rev. Martin himself cried.

I really and truly cannot recommend Rev. Martin enough... if you're lucky enough to contact him and find that he has your date available, book him! You won't be disappointed!

We were specifically looking for a non-denominational officiant who would respect our wishes to not have an overly-religious ceremony. Rev. Martin was so helpful and easy to work with. Anytime we emailed him, he got back to us very quickly, most of time within 30 minutes. He worked with us to create the perfect ceremony. Our wedding was absolutely amazing and exactly what we wanted! He even took a video of the ceremony which we were able to share with friends and family that weren't able to make it to the wedding. Not many people would be so thoughtful, understanding, and patient as the bride was late to the wedding. Even fewer would have hiked a quarter mile up a mountain and down again after dark to officiate a ceremony for two perfect strangers. In addition to his professionalism, Martin offered much in the way of humor and his personality placed all that were involved in the wedding and the planning of the wedding at ease. We were so happy to have Reverend Martin as part of our wedding day. He went above and beyond what we expected. He met with us in person to discuss our ceremony plans which made us more comfortable. Then, when we edited our ceremony MANY, MANY times he always sent us a new copy within a couple of days. When we decided to do personalized vows he sent us articles on how to write them and when we were having trouble finding wording for the sand ceremony he sent us samples and let us tweak them to make them our own. He stayed in touch with us throughout our planning and the ceremony was one thing I knew I didn't have to stress about. On our wedding day everything went beautifully. Rev Martin was amazing to work with. We had another officiant back out on us and he was able to work with us last minute. Our ceremony was beautiful and exactly what we wanted, he even incorporated my daughter into the ceremony! He was very professional and quick to respond back. Thank you for making our day perfect!!

Reverend Martin made our wedding day as special as it was intended to be. It was as if we had known him all our lives. Prior to the ceremony, he made a point of staying connected with us while understanding our busy schedules and the stress of planning a wedding. You could feel God's love resonate through the room when he performed our ceremony and prayed for us and with us. I am thrilled we selected reverend Martin as our Officiant, it was as if our own Pastor had performed the ceremony. You will not be disappointed.

Reverend Martin was a joy to have as a part of our wedding. From the very first meeting until the end if the ceremony, he made us feel so comfortable and relaxed! He included our kids and really helped set the tone for a beautiful day.

Rev. Martin was wonderful in that he was so flexible and allowed us to edit what he read during our ceremony including a rose ceremony which was dear to our hearts as my now husband gave me a pink rose on our first date and incorporated that in the engagement ring he gave me. We also wanted a secular wedding and had no idea how difficult it would have been to find an officiant comfortable wedding us without reference to one particular religion. Unfazed and professional, Rev. Martin was the perfect officiant for us.

Reverend Martin was extremely helpful through the entire process. Even though we were planning our wedding from out of state, we were able to meet with him and discuss all of the ins and outs of our ideal ceremony. He was very accommodating to all of our requests and questions in the months prior to the big day. He is also very professional, punctual, and easy to work with. My husband and I would definitely recommend his services to newly engaged couples planning to get married in the Southern Maryland region.

Rev. Martin and his wife were amazingly quick and helpful. When we told him about our wedding, he gave us an outline for the entire wedding, and offered us many choices as to how we wanted the wedding to go. He always responded to e-mails promptly and always offered extra help and ideas. He stayed patiently after we walked down the aisle to wait for us to finish pictures before signing our certificate. His wife also took many great pictures, and sent the pictures, as well as the link to the slideshow to us. I absolutely would recommend Rev. Martin to my friends and family in the future.

We highly recommend Rev. Martin Lavery’s wedding officiant services. He was extremely quick in responding to email inquiries. He was very professional, well spoken, warm and friendly. At this outdoor ceremony he didn’t even need a microphone! The ceremony was beautiful and went very smoothly. We really enjoyed having Rev. Martin officiate my daughter's wedding!!!
