The perfect wedding experience!
Thank you to the team at the Marriott Syracuse downtown for making our day absolutely perfect! Anissa was the most organized, thoughtful and caring coordinator from the day we met her. As a bride who loves to plan, she impressed me and took a ton of stress off of me especially on the week leading up to the big day. The day of, Sharon was so perfect- even with our 34 person massive wedding party! Our guests couldn't stop telling us how impressed they were and we couldn't have been happier. I even got to see a sneak peek of the reception set up before my guests entered. Thank you so much!-

Simply Fantastic
The Marriott truly gave me the wedding experience I could only have imagined. Planning a wedding is stressful and I think no other venue compares. The level of service is truly astounding. Being a Southern girl, I always imagined I would have a lovely venue that would take care of all my needs in a professional and thoughtful way. I found that with the Marriott. They took care of EVERYTHING. They answered ALL of our questions. They were so kind and communicative during the whole process. They truly made us feel special and taken care of. Several times, we sent long, detailed and itemized emails with many questions. The staff at the Marriott replied with every question answered in detail. The food was fantastic, the ballrooms are gorgeous and full of history, the staff is attentive and excellent in every way. They accommodated several special requests and helped set up and take down decorations. Even though our wedding was on the smaller side, they still gave us fantastic service. -

Highly recommend! We were so happy with the services that were provided to us at a very affordable price and had a wonderful time working with the whole team. Kara did a great job as our coordinator and Sharon was the sweetest host. We love the Marriott! They made us feel cared for and well taken care of!-

Choose this venue!
The perfect wedding day is almost completely unheard of, everyone tells you that something will go wrong, however, with the help of the team at Marriott Syracuse Downtown our day was truly and completely perfect.
We were first connected with our coordinator Anissa Quilty. She was ready for anything and everything we threw her way! She helped with all our questions as we started digging into the planning process and helped to answer questions we were getting from our outside vendors. Anissa also helped us to get our room block set up and get the Hotel Syracuse Suite reserved for our Bridal Party. About 4 months before our wedding, Anissa got a promotion (yay!) and helped to provide an easy transition to our new coordinator, Kayla Sawyer.
Kayla was truly amazing to work with! I was an extremely organized and detailed Bride, and I knew exactly how I wanted our wedding day to look. Kayla was ready for the challenge of helping us achieve the vision that we had. She was always ready for our questions and answered them quickly, if she didn't have the answer, she knew who to go to for help! Kayla helped to bring all our little details and ideas to life. We wanted a classic wedding, but we didn't want to be traditional, and Kayla completely understood that vision.
Kayla met us in the lobby when we arrived at the hotel on Friday of our Wedding Weekend and helped to get everyone checked into their rooms and get all our belongings onto luggage carts. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, Kayla was attentive to all our wants and needs and made us feel special. She checked in on our parents and Bridal Party too. We also brought in a day-of-coordinator and Kayla very quickly approached her to go over any last-minute details or plans and they stayed in contact for the duration of our wedding weekend.
On Saturday morning, Kayla got right into setting up all our decor (and there was a lot of it!). I provided Kayla with a detailed list along with a few pictures of how I wanted things set-up, and she executed everything perfectly. Everything was exactly how I wanted it to be, and she even found the perfect places for our miscellaneous items that didn’t really have a “home.”
Sharon was working seamlessly with Kayla throughout the entire night. She was there to make sure our guests were happy, well fed and hydrated. She helped to put the finishing touches on the tables and made sure to check in with us and our parents during our cocktail hour and reception.
Now, let's talk food! It was the best food I've ever had at a wedding. Hands down! Our guests are still telling us how great their meals were. The cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres were unmatched! The shrimp cocktail display that we added on was to die for! I highly recommend splurging on that if you can. Your guests won’t forget it!
The wait staff and bartenders were shining stars! Mandy was waiting on our head table (we met her at our tasting and requested her for our reception) and I am so grateful for her. She was consistently (but not annoyingly) checking in on us, making sure we had enough food, refreshing our cocktails and so much more. You could really tell she cared about helping us have a perfect night. Our guests also raved about how quickly the bartenders worked and how fun they were while they did it!
I promise you won’t regret having your wedding at Marriott Syracuse Downtown. The Grand Ballroom is unlike anything you will find anywhere in the Syracuse area and the amount of beauty and history the hotel holds makes for a really unique venue.

A beautiful wedding venue!
Not only is the hotel beautiful, but the staff there are truly professional, personable, and dedicated to their jobs. There is a reason this is the #1 venue in the area...they assisted with every single detail, extremely organized, and really made us feel special throughout our whole wedding weekend. We worked with Jenn and held our wedding in the Persian Terrace. Jenn is incredible and our wedding would not have been as great without her! We loved our experience at the Marriott! -

Every staff member, every part of our reception and stay was the best
Lindsey Cole and the rest of the Marriott team made sure that everything was PERFECT on our day. All staff went above and beyond to congratulate us and help all of our guests. The room was beautiful, food was delicious, and the planning was easy. Thank you!

a night to remember
I can’t find the words to describe how incredible the experience was - from venue searching to planning to the day of the wedding and even the day after. The first time we saw the venue, we were blown away. It was gorgeous and everything we never thought we wanted and totally out of our budget. We thought - it’s too extravagant. But we met Lindsey and she was fantastic. We almost weren’t going to book this venue (because it was out of our budget) until we finally decided - let’s just do it. Lindsey was able to work with our budget and I’m so happy she contacted us again! It is a gorgeous venue and you really don’t have to do much else in terms of decor. I had MANY specific requests and questions and the staff was able to help each step of the way. The staff made it extremely easy - and this allowed me and my bridesmaids (the groom and his groomsmen too of course) to sit back and relax before the wedding without fretting about set up or take down and I think I that was the best part. We didn’t have to do a thing the day of other than get ready, take photos, and have fun. Sharon was fantastic to work with though and we loved her! The hotel and staff were so accommodating and attentive. The night turned out beautifully and even more amazing than we imagined. The only downside to having our wedding at the hotel was the wedding crashers, but we still had an amazing time. In 50 years, if we were to renew our vows, we would have the party here again. Thank you Marriott Syracuse Downtown. It was definitely an unforgettable night. -

World Class Wedding Experience
The Marriot Syracuse Downtown has given us a wedding experience beyond what we thought was possible. The staff there was in constant communication with us when we needed them for anything. Every single person was gracious, respectful, and had a honest sense of excitement and ownership. They had incredible attention to detail (and I can be overly strict on details), were super organzied, and prepared for multiple contingencies (that were never needed.) They really took a lot of the stress out of the planning and setup and provided us with everything we asked for. I wish I could recommend them more because the whole experience was nothing short of beautiful and memorable... truly outstanding. -

Flawless Event, Total Perfection
I cannot say enough amazing things about my experience with this venue. From day one, Lindsey and her team worked so hard to make our event so special. If you want a stress-free day in the most beautiful and magical venue, you MUST book this venue. Lindsey was prompt in responding to all of my e-mails, she always worked to make everything as easy for me as she possibly could. I felt like royalty on my wedding day, every single staff member was there to make sure we had everything we needed every second of the day. Sharon was also incredible, she went above and beyond at the event to make sure we ate, that we got to taste all of the amazing food even if we didn't get a chance to make it to anything. The setup and cleanup was quick and easy, I didn't have to lift a finger. I could go on and on about every single individual at this hotel who worked tirelessly to give up a flawless and perfect event. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you did to give us a fairytale day. It was better than we even imagined. You are all incredible. -

Wonderful!!
We had our wedding in the Persian Terrace at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown. Emily Rahrle, the catering sale manager was constantly available for us when we had questions, concerns and changes to our contract. Not only was she amazing in helping us plan our special day, but she truly cared about us as a couple and made sure we received everything that was important to us. All the staff at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown from the front desk to the management made us feel so special and we would recommend this venue to any couple looking to make their day perfect, because thats what they did for us. Our cocktail hour was an amazing elegant experience right in their main lobby. Even though my new husband and I did not get to eat a single Hors d'Oeuvres during our cocktail hour, when we sat down for dinner, we had a sample plate waiting for us with all of our food from our cocktail hour. The next morning, we had a farewell breakfast for our guests in one of the rooms upstairs and they had retrieved our center pieces and placed them on the breakfast tables so we could have a little piece of our reception at our breakfast. Those are just a couple examples of the amazing experience that was our wedding weekend. Thank you Marriott Syracuse Downtown for making our day perfect. -

I can not say enough about how Emily and the entire Marriott staff made our wedding weekend absolutely perfect. It was 100% the fairytale princess wedding I had dreamed of. We chose to do our rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception all at the Marriott and are so thankful we did. We were able to plan everything from Boston, with only meeting at the Marriott twice (once for tasting) during this time!
Emily worked with us seamlessly to plan the wedding of our dreams in under 6 months. Whenever we got stressed about something, she took care of it... from food to decorations to our signs (that got delayed in arriving and were stuck in Boston) to making last minute hotel reservations for a guest... As an example of how amazing Emily was: We had a first look. Therefore, I did not know that the men did not get their boutonnieres until we were doing our photos at a garden ~2 miles away. Guess what? Emily delivered all of the groomsmen their boutonnieres to the park, so that they had them for the pictures! Emily to the rescue once again!
If you want a place in Syracuse with unmatched elegance and quality of service second to none, this is the place for your wedding.
Thank you for making my wedding dreams come true! Emily- you are simply amazing at what you do! You made our wedding day absolutely perfect!-

Not only is the newly renovated Marriott Syracuse Downtown an absolutely gorgeous and unique venue, the staff are also the most professional and attentive you could ever hope for! Every detail of our wedding from beginning to end was perfect. We held both our ceremony and reception in the Grand Ballroom and cocktail hour in the ballroom foyer/Empire Room. All of the transitions throughout the day ran seamlessly. The food was excellent and our guests had no trouble getting drinks at the bar all evening. The hotel rooms themselves are gorgeous and comfortable. We have heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests. It was truly the perfect day and we didn't have to worry about a thing because the staff were always a step ahead making sure everything ran smoothly. -

Our wedding day at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown was AMAZING. The venue is absolutely, breathtakingly, beautiful. The service is impeccable and unforgettable. My husband and I were incredibly blessed to have booked this venue. We still feel like the whole day was a dream, beyond our expectations. Our wedding was on a Sunday evening, shortly after the hotel's grand opening. We had our marriage ceremony in the Persian Terrace, enjoyed our cocktail hour in the hotel's lobby and ended the evening in the Grand Ballroom for our reception. Lindsey, the event coordinator, was truly a delight to work with. Prior to meeting Lindsey for the first time to discuss our wedding, I had become somewhat jaded by the stress and frustration associated with planning a wedding. I had lost any feeling of excitement toward the planning process prior to my first meeting with Lindsey. After the first meeting, I felt the sparkle of being a bride again. Lindsey made planning a wedding feel simple, enjoyable and EXCITING!!! I felt like I was her only bride; emails and calls were answered quickly, my special requests were met with a "yes, we can do that" response and an "at your service" attitude, the details of my wedding were remembered and carefully accounted for...she was completely invested in making our wishes our reality, and did she ever deliver!!! The quality of service, by all staff, at the hotel is impeccable. The day of our wedding, every staff person working our event was helpful and friendly. Many of the servers personally congratulated my husband and I and wished us luck. It felt like they were as happy to be a part of our wedding day as our guests were! -

My husband and I had our wedding reception in the Grand Ballroom. From the very beginning we were treated like gold. The staff at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown is not only professional and hard working, but they are all kind-hearted individuals who genuinely have your best interest at heart. Planning a wedding can definitely be stressful, especially when you have a big wedding party like we did (320). I had some last minute guests (two days before the wedding) all of a sudden decide that they would like to attend (which included adding more tables, etc). - I was so stressed! Lindsey and Sharon took action right away and made me feel completely comfortable with the last minute change. They reassured me that they would handle everything and it would all turn out perfect, and it was more than perfect, it was everything I ever dreamed of. Lindsey is absolutely amazing at what she does. From giving us thorough tours around the hotel to being patient with us at our tasting (my husband and I come from two big Italian families so you can only imagine how the red sauce had to taste ;) ) to so much more, she made this experience so much better than I could have ever imagined. She is on top of everything! She responds quickly to emails and phone calls and you can definitely tell that she truly cares about your special day and will do everything in her power to make it perfect for not only you and your husband, but for your entire family as well. I still keep in touch with her and always tell her that I wish I had another event to plan so that I could work with her again! If you book with the Marriott, you are in VERY good hands and I'm jealous! Sharon was unbelievable as well. She made sure the floor plan that I gave her for the Grand Ballroom was laid out exactly like I wanted it to be. She was extremely kind and helpful and the day of the reception she was constantly making sure we were doing well and had everything we needed. AMAZING service and wonderful staff! -

We had our reception in the Grand Ballroom. We weren't sure what to expect with the hotel since it was still a construction zone when we booked, but we are so glad we did because the restoration is amazing! The Grand Ballroom is so elegant and the architectural details of the hotel are beautiful. It was pouring rain on our wedding day, but the we were able to take some amazing pictures inside using the hotel as the backdrop. We worked with Lindsey to coordinate all of the wedding details. She was always quick to respond, and was very helpful in making sure that my vision for the reception would come together. She made some great suggestions for details that I never would have thought of. We are still getting compliments from our guests on how beautiful the hotel was, how elegantly the room was setup, and how great the food was. Everyone was very impressed, especially me and my husband! -

This venue was a dream come true. We booked the Marriott Syracuse Downtown when it was still under renovation. We were worried about whether the venue would be ready in time and whether the day of the wedding would run smoothly. Once we had our tasting and met with our wedding coordinator in person, we felt much more confident and excited for our wedding day. After our wedding day, we are thrilled we went with Marriott Syracuse Downtown! We had our wedding in the Grand Ballroom, which is a stunning room. It was beautiful! Our wedding coordinator and the staff set up the room exactly how we had asked and they coordinated with all of our wedding vendors to create the perfect evening! The food was excellent! The service and professionalism from the staff was outstanding. All of our guests raved about the outstanding service and attentiveness of the staff that worked with us on our wedding night. We went above budget with this venue, but it was definitely worth it! I had the best day of my life in the most beautiful venue I could have imagined! -

A dream come true
If you want an absolutely gorgeous, historic wedding venue with a wonderful staff, look no further. From the time of booking to the day after our wedding, everything was an absolute dream. We couldn't have had a more perfect day. All our ideas were implemented to perfection and they made sure we were completely taken care of, even down to putting a tray full of appetizers on our sweetheart table so we actually got to enjoy the food we selected for our guests. They even blasted the air conditioning when I mentioned I was a little warm from dancing so much! I can't recommend this venue enough if you want a wedding with all the modern amenities and a touch of vintage nostalgia. -

Grand Ballroom Wedding
Our wedding was absolutely beautiful! The Marriott staff did a great job to make our special day run smoothly. The food was delicious!! I would recommend the Grand Ballroom if you are looking to feel like a princess in the great city of Syracuse! -

I remember seeing the newly restored Marriott Syracuse Downtown (it will always be the Hotel Syracuse!) for the first time on a "sneak peek" tour. We weren't even engaged yet, but I walked into the Grand Ballroom and felt my eyes fill with happy tears. I knew it was where we'd have our wedding reception one day. The hotel is absolutely breathtaking. Our guests RAVED about our wedding and said, genuinely, that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. That's because of the space! The Grand Ballroom is exquisite; you can make it your own while still honoring the history of the hotel. We loved walking out on the balconies to see our guests throughout the evening and to take in everything that was happening. The food was out-of-this-world. I'd heard some complaints from previous events, so I was nervous...but the chefs absolutely delivered. So good. This is arguably the most popular wedding venue in Central New York right now, so be prepared to wait a bit for responses to your questions. I know the team is working on adding extra staff to work with you in the months leading up to your wedding. While slow responses were a bit frustrating at times, they TOTALLY came through during wedding week. Lindsey was a God-send. She made sure our day was perfect and was extremely attentive during wedding week and on the day of our wedding. So many special touches that made it an unforgettable day. And I can't leave out Sharon, who was literally the most helpful, most friendly person I have ever met in my life. She made sure we got to try the cocktail hour food even though we got there late. She packed up all of our items. She was THE BEST. If you're a bride getting married in Syracuse, and you want your guests to have an extremely memorable night (with rooms right there for everybody to stay over!), then you should ABSOLUTELY choose the Marriott Syracuse Downtown for your big day. I wish we could go back and do it again. Incredible. Thank you Lindsey and team! -

It seemed a little pricy at first with a fixed price - but they will put in a ton of extras if you have a smaller guest list. The staff there was fantastic and they were great to work with and made everything stress free. Things were a little behind for our wedding because they had just opened up but even with that it was flawless. -

Absolutely beautiful venue with great service. Our wedding planner Emily was very easy to work with. The food was delicious and the staff was so helpful on the day of the wedding. The wedding ceremony at the Cathedral was only a 3 minute walk from the hotel. We had our rehearsal dinner there too and they gave us a 10% discount. I thought it was very expensive and upgrading anything costs a lot, but I did feel like I got what I paid for. -

We had our wedding reception in the Persian Terrace and everything was perfect from start to finish! The cocktail hour was held in the hotel lobby which was spacious and great for mingling. Then the reception in the Persian Terrace was beautiful - the room is so unique and feels very glamorous with so much vintage charm. It was exactly what we were looking for. All of the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. Lindsey was in charge of coordinating everything and she did an amazing job, we cannot thank her enough for pulling everything through for us. The food was amazing, I had many guests comment on how much they enjoyed it. Additionally, everyone loved how convenient it was to be able to just head upstairs to hotel rooms at the end of the night. A hotel suit for my new husband and me was included in the package and they even left chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in the room for us when we got up there. Overall, we are SO glad we chose to do our wedding here and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a venue! -

After contacting Lindsey with the Hotel Syracuse, I fell in love with the idea of having my wedding there. She was more than accommodating with specifics for my big day! The venue is stunning and I'm excited to introduce my out of town guests to this historic landmark. -

This hotel is so special! It's so beautiful. We had a block of 20 roo.s and suites for our wedding. Each room is spacious and comfortable. We were disappointed to hear from more than half the rooms that they had no morning coffee and those who had coffee had spoiled creamer. The bride was served rotten raw veggies. There are some customer service issues that need work like long lines at the front desk with 1 agent helping customers while 2 others loiter and watch the line grow. We love the venue. The sales dept ( Erica R) was amazing. It was mostly good. I hope they use the feedback. -

Overall our wedding was amazing. The entire venue is spectacular, and you will not find anything else like it in Syracuse. We had some small hiccups in the beginning with some of the staff we were supposed to work with, but they rectified those issues. We did lose our detail coordinator 2 weeks before the wedding, and we got to work with Emily instead. She was great, her enthusiasm and professionalism was spot on. We could not have asked for a better hiccup on that front. Our guests enjoyed the food, and even commented on it afterwards. They brought our uneaten meals up to the suite we were staying in, since we weren't able to eat at the reception. My advice is to stick to your guns, they will try to push what they think is best on to you, but in the end we did what we thought was best for our wedding and they accommodated eventually. -
