Marilyn was great to work with and reasonably priced - especially compared to other quotes I received. I found a picture of a cake on Pinterest and she was able to replicate beautifully. The cake was very moist and tasted delicious. Our guests really enjoyed the look and taste of the cake, they are still talking about it!

Marilyn's Cakes was one of the easiest and low maintenance decisions I made during our wedding planning process. I met with her once for a cake tasting, showed her a picture of the cake design I had in mind, picked my flavors and didn't have to worry about anything else! The cake was delivered to our reception and was so beautiful and it tasted great!! Marilyn was so easy to work with, and her cakes are such a great value because they look perfect and taste delicious! Thank you Marilyn!!

This is the best value in the TriState area.

Marilyn is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Her cakes are gorgeous and delicious! Everyone was raving about our cake!

By not having the fancy store front, big staff or spending money on wedding shows and mass advertising, you will find the BEST cake for the BEST value, hand down.

Do NOT overlook Cakes by Marilyn. She is a hidden gem!!!

Marilyn was very easy to work and her cakes are not only absolutely gorgeous, they taste amazing as well! She's also incredibly reasonably priced especially compared to others in the area. I would recommend her to everyone! She's great!

Marilyn makes the best cakes!!! My wedding cake was beautiful and delicious!! We went with the raspberry filling and it was amazing! Our venue packed up the (little bit!) of cake we had left and I devoured it later at our hotel room! Marilyn was wonderful to work with. We met with her once and it was great to be able to just know everything was taken care of. She works closely with McHale's (our venue) and so she was able to drop it off whenever. Loved Her!

Best cake, best price! The cake for our wedding was amazingly delicious and beautiful. We could not have picked a better cake!!

Highly recommend Marilyn's Cakes! She bakes out of her basement and the cakes are delicious! Not too sugary and just enough icing and filing. We received many good compliments on our beautiful and delicious cake!

Marilyn provided lots of different options and was very reasonably priced.
Many of the guests commented on how wonderful the cake was.
we were very pleased with the service and would use Marilyn again.

Our wedding cake was not only priced reasonably (best in the area), but also tasted great and looked wonderful. We had our groom's cake done by another company (who also do a significant number of wedding cakes (more than Marilyn)) and while it looked great, it was not nearly as moist as our wedding cake. Marilyn is a sweet woman and very laid back yet efficient. This made her one of the easier vendors to coordinate with. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a delicious cake that looks elegant.

Marilyn Hartman is the sweetest woman in the business!! I went to several tastings (Sweet Water Bakehouse, A Spoon Fulla Sugar, The BonBonerie, Mariebelle, Cotillion Events, Patricia's Weddings and Custom, Dessert Works, etc.), and Marilyn's Cakes was the last stop.

I was a little skeptical at first because she works from home, her prices are lower than the per usual, but but BUT, her cake TASTED the best and was just absolutely beautiful!

We had many, many compliments about the taste and look of our cake. I am just so thrilled to have met Marilyn and I wish her the best!! You can either choose from her past creations, or you can go with your ideas and own pictures. I went with one of her past creations and used red roses and hypericum berries as our cake topper and decor. For us, Marilyn's Cakes was one of those kinds of finds that we were ECSTATIC about! We had a simpler sort of cake, but without the overhead cost of other places, Marilyn gives you exactly what you want in a grand wedding cake! We rented a cake stand from her ($25) and had a little touch of pearlized dust ($10) and our total cost for 200 guests was $406. Please contact her!! She's amazing!

Marilyn doesn't seem to check her email as frequently as other venues, but she will respond to you. I believe she is a bit old-fashioned in this sense. :) When you call, leave a message, and she'll get back to you. I noticed other reviews as not giving her a 5 out of 5 due to responsiveness and I know what the other reviewers are talking about. I just don't that to be a barrier for some of you! She is GREAT!

The cake was wonderful - butter cream icing, four tiers and beautiful. One of the guests posted a photo of it on facebook and said "it was tasty too!" My husband and I hate supporting the big box stores and Marylin's Cakes are made by Marylin in her basement. Not expensive at all and quite wonderful! Her website is: http://www.marilynscakes.com/

I loved Marilyn! The tasting was delicious, the cake was beautiful and a year later our cake tasted almost as good as on our wedding day!!! I even had her make another one for me for another event and she was great. Very affordable and excellent quality.

I received TONS of compliments about our wedding cake from Marilyn's Cakes. Everyone told us that it was the best wedding cake they have ever tasted, and I would agree! It was delicious and absolutely beautiful! Marilyn was able to create my vision perfectly. She is also very reasonably priced.

Marilyn does an amazing job. Not only was the cake beautiful but tasted amazing. Every one raved about how great the cake tasted. I know lots of brides you have used her and each one loved her. This is the best wedding cake i have ever eaten.

Marilyn's Cakes truly makes wonderfully delicious cakes! Not only that, the cake design is outstanding. We were married in January and Marilyn created the perfect cake for our winter wonderland wedding. The attention to detail is amazing. There are many tasty flavors to choose from so you cannot go wrong! I highly recommend Marilyn's Cakes!!

Marilyn was very nice to work with from the testing to the actual wedding day. She accomodated every request that we had- along with me changing the colors mid way through. Our cake was very reasonably priced and tasted awesome!

Marilyn was great to work with. She did such a nice job on our wedding cake. The cake was exactly what we asked for, it held up all day, and it was delicious. Probably the best wedding cake I have ever had! There was plenty of cake for all guests at our reception - we did not run out, thanks to her estimates. Also, Marilyns prices were the best compared to all other cake vendors I looked at.

She did a wonderful job on our cake! If you want fondant I wouldnt go to her though because she charges outrageous prices. But other than that our cake was great and tasted just as great

Marilyn did a wonderful job on our cake! It was absolutely gorgeous and received many compliments. The best part was that it tasted just as good!! She may be slightly difficult to get a hold of... but be patient and opt for email. Its the best way to get quick responses.
