Let me start out by saying I did not originally hire Willow & Sage. They came to me thru my hired caterer who due to covid costs and current economy needed to sell off their outside contracts. This process happened 4 months before my wedding...we booked our caterer 2 years out, so to say I was panicked is an understatement. All of those nerves and stress went away within the 1st 30 minute conversation I had with Scott the owner. He took the time to explain. The process, asked me things and for decisions I didn't even know I needed to make, and was overall reassuring. From that point I has the pleasure of dealing with 3 more ladies from his office before the big day for various reasons and they all, just like Scott , were so professional and knowledgeable, and helped me stay at peace with this change. The big day finally came and Scott ran my day with the help of Andrea running the serving staff. Scott made sure everything went out without a hitch, he checked on myself and the groom throughout the night. There was never a point when we didn't have what we needed. Andrea and the rest of the staff were AMAZING , I seriously cannot say enough about how great each and everyone of them were. The food, how did I forget the food, was incredible! Every single bite was delicious, and again thanks to Scott he made sure we had a tray of cocktail hour apps waiting for us, and had our dinner plates brought out at the top of opening the buffet, in a rare occasion I was a bride who actually got to eat her meal! I would hire Willow and Sage again in a heartbeat and know that going into any event, everything would be handled. -

I highly recommend Marian House. My daughter’s wedding was there a little more than three weeks ago. The food, the service, everything was perfect. I consider myself a very picky person, and they honestly were amazing in so many ways. The staff at Marian House don’t just meet expectations, they take it to another level. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone, even the host, enjoys themselves. One of the things I was worried about was how I was going to set up some things the day of the wedding when the hair and makeup people were coming to our house. I mentioned this to Debbie, and she said, “What do you mean? You just drop those bins off the day before and I take care of everything.” So, I thought, “Okay, I can drop them off…they can set things up…I’ll get there early to fix everything…” (Yes, I’m a control freak.) I got there more than an hour before and nothing, nothing needed to be “fixed” – everything was even better than I imagined. I didn’t realize that Marian House staff would help with so much. I had seriously thought of hiring a day-of coordinator, and I’m so very glad that I did not because the staff at Marian House were amazing with how they made sure everything went smoothly. I thought the food that we sampled before the wedding was fantastic – it was even better the day of the wedding. So many guests have told us after the wedding what a beautiful venue it was, how great the food was, how much they enjoyed themselves. You cannot go wrong having an event at Marian House! -

We couldn’t have asked for a better venue! This was the first venue we toured, we met with Will, he gave us an incredible tasting, and made us feel at home. We knew that no other venue was going to top the feeling we got from this place. Kara made the planning process so easy. Will and Debbie were absolutely amazing the day of making sure not just us, but all of our guests were taken care of. The food is to die for!! Plus, the renovations are stunning and was a nice surprise for us because we had toured before they started the renovations. We had the most perfect day and I would recommend this venue to anybody. 1000000 stars!! -

Willow & Sage catered our wedding at the Art Factory this past December and our experience with them was exceptional. For starters, they served as much more than only a caterer when it came to both the planning and execution of what we asked for. They are an incredibly professional outfit and Scott’s (The Owner) experience and guidance was invaluable to us. The food will speak for itself when you do a tasting, everything is top notch and they offer a wide ranging variety of options. Not only are the options vast, they will work with you to customize a menu that will make you happy. Don’t see something on their menu? No problem, talk to them about what you want and they’ll create it for you. I can’t state enough that they are not just cooking and serving food; there’s no part of your Wedding that they won’t get involved in if necessary in order to make sure you’re busy enjoying your time and not worrying about how things are running. Kara whom we worked with frequently in the planning stages was always accommodating and available whenever we had questions or ideas we wanted to talk over. We had a 5-star experience! -

Willow and Sage was the perfect addition to an unforgettable wedding day. Our wedding coordinator Makayla ensured our day was stress free by working with our venue The Art Factory in finalizing the details to create the wedding of our dreams. Willow and Sage provides professional service and amazing food. Many of our guest were quick to complement the food provided. Some in fact said it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Myself and my wife are still raving about Willow and Sage. The experience was so great we were already thinking of ways we could have another celebration just so we can experience the cuisine of Willow and Sage. I must not forget the communication between Taralee, Scott and Will which was timely and friendly. We are happy to say by hiring Willow and Sage we felt like we were part of their family. Thank you again we look forward to hiring you for a future event. -

From our first visit I knew I wanted to have our wedding at Marian House. Every experience we had there was perfect. We attended multiple bridal shows that showed how beautiful the space will truly look for the wedding. All our guests still rave about the food. Every step of the way they made super easy and they were very accommodating and really wanted this to be the most perfect day for us. Wedding day turned out to be everything I could have ever wanted and more. The new patio was perfect for our December wedding. We had it tented and heated and it was a perfect options for guests for especially for cocktail hour. Will truly made sure this day was absolutely perfect and he himself came to check on me multiple times throughout the wedding. I can't recommend this venue enough. -

Willow & Sage was our caterer for an offsite wedding in our backyard.
The staff did an amazing job accommodating us from start to finish. The chef did a wonderful job navigating through our kitchen. The food was delicious and served hot!
The servers and Will the owner!, constantly made sure my husband, our guests, and I had everything we needed and were happy. When I woke up the next morning everything was cleaned up like they were never there!
Everything was top notch and I can't wait to use them for events again in the future! -

Absolutely AMAZING caterers! HIRE THEM NOW! They went above and beyond to help me when my wedding venue cancelled 2 days before the wedding. They found us a new venue the same day, handled all of the logistics of transferring rentals and catering to a new location. Otherwise, their food and level of service is EXCELLENT. Communication is so easy, they're very responsive. All our guests said the food was exceptional. They worked with us so craft the menu exactly to our liking. Throughout the reception the team kept me up to date and helped with in-the-moment logistics. I call the Willow & Sage team our guardian angels impersonated! -

I would highly recommend this vendor. We went to the food tasting and were sold! The food was fabulous and all the guests were raving about the food - the short ribs are to die for! The team orchestrated everything which was so helpful. Hands down this was the best wedding food and experience i ever had with a vendor. Thank you Willow and Sage for making our day so special! -

South Jersey’s hidden gem of a venue! Before my fiancé & I went venue shopping, we knew we wanted our venue close to home. We looked at many venues around the area, but people kept suggesting we look at the Marian House. We had never been to or heard about the Marian House until we started venue shopping. This was for the best because we toured the venue without preconceived notions. We contacted Willow & Sage through their website to schedule a tour. Will (head chef) provided our tour. After walking through the space & speaking with Will, we knew the Marian House was meant to be where we celebrate the start of our marriage! We followed up with Jason (coordinator), who was very patient with us through the holidays while reviewing the contract & answering our questions. One theme echoed throughout the conversations was that we would become part of the Willow & Sage family. It truly feels like we have joined a family, and we can’t wait for our wedding in 2023!
The review from our wedding on 05/13/2023. Will, Scott, Kara & Joe surpassed our wildest expectations & nailed every detail. If you are looking for a venue & caterer, this is it; stop searching. We have been to many weddings, & not a single one was better than Willow & Sage at the Marian House. The food was BY FAR the best food at a wedding anyone had ever had. We had over 200 guests, & the space was more than perfect. It would be the best restaurant in South Jersey if they took reservations. Do yourself a favor and include the French onion boules as part of your cocktail hour (& scallops & short ribs for dinner). The #1 compliment we kept hearing was how amazing the food was. The dance floor was busy all night but never felt too big or too small.
Chef Will & the entire team were amazing to work with. They worked tirelessly to make sure everything went off without a hitch. Nothing went wrong; nothing was average; everything was perfect. We are beyond grateful for how accommodating they were. We were running late to cocktail hour, so they brought our Bridal party appetizers outside while we were finishing up photos. Joe greeted us with drinks & provided world-class service to us & our families. Kara worked tirelessly with us to ensure all our little requests came true, especially being able to set up early.
Scott’s industry experience is visible in every aspect of the event. Scott was ever-present, from hiring the best people for the job to ensuring we were calm before our big day. Scott would be the voice of reason if there was something we weren’t sure about. When we had any request, whether small or large, it was something that was handled promptly by Scott.
Kara was our main point of contact during the major planning phases of the wedding. Any questions we had, which were many, Kara responded in an extremely timely & professional fashion. We made several adjustments, some of which were unique to us as a couple. Kara worked with us & our vendors to bring in oysters from Aquidneck Island Oysters, ice cream cake from Cups & Cones, & flowers from Russo’s Farm Market. Kara put us at ease throughout our wedding planning process.
If you have read this far in our review, you are seriously considering Willow & Sage for your event. The best advice we can provide is to see the place in action at a Bridal Show where you can taste the food & experience the magic. We loved working with everyone at Willow & Sage & can’t wait to see what event we can host next with them by our side! -

Saved our wedding day!
Originally, we hired a different caterer for our wedding, but that company "merged" with Willow and Sage, so W&S took over our wedding and thank god they did. Scott and Will are excellent business men and caterers. We worked with their team member Kara and she was very attentive and helpful throughout the process. My mom had very particular requests for the their staff and they exceeded all expectations. One of my mom's pet peeves is when trays of dirty dishes are left out during the cocktail hour or dirty plates are left on tables. Another is when a staff doesn't dress professionally or uniformly. Will and Scott understood our concerns and made sure that these things did not happen. Their staff dressed professionally and made sure surfaces were clear. Being the bride, I did not get to eat most of the food, but our guests raved to us for weeks about the amazing cocktail hour food as well as the dinner. Based on what everyone was telling us, I wish I had gotten to eat it!!! I'm so happy and lucky that we had Willow and Sage as our (replacement) caterer. -

Carmen Sent on 10/21/2007The food was good and we didn't have any problems planning the wedding with him. The only part I didn't like was that he tried to take over during the ceremony about who walked out when. He is a caterer not a wedding planner, but that was the only problem I remember. -

The venue itself is beautiful, no question about that, but my experience with the booking process was frustrating and unprofessional.
After downloading their menu (which required entering my contact info), I was contacted multiple times and invited to tour the space with the promise of a complimentary food tasting. I accepted the invitation and arrived with my niece, only to be told the tasting was only available after placing a deposit. This was never mentioned on the website or by the person texting me. Despite that, I still loved the space and told the coordinator I’d return with my husband before finalizing.
When we returned, we were told evening events weren’t possible due to a big event the next day, so we adjusted and planned a daytime event instead. We were ready to book, and the coordinator promised to send a contract first thing the next morning.
Instead, I received a call saying another client had just walked in with a cash deposit for the same date and time. This was upsetting because:
• I was never told anyone else was considering that date or time.
• My friend (who I referred to Marian House) called the same day and was told that date was still available for both day and evening. She received an email confirmation with all the available dates.
I reached out to the managing partners. One of them (Will) called to apologize and explained the situation. While I appreciated the call, the explanation didn’t clear up the contradictions. If someone else had the date and put a deposit, why was it still being offered to others? He then preceded to offer me the place because the other party backed out. Why would I accept this offer now?
In the end, while the space is gorgeous, the management is disorganized, and communication is poor. The systems in place don’t seem to inspire confidence and don’t seem to serve potential clients well. Too much ambiguity and not enough clarity. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this venue based on how my experience was handled.
