Maria and Scott were an absolute dream team for our wedding photography! From the moment we saw our engagement shoot photos, I knew we were in for something extraordinary on our wedding day. The attention to detail and their ability to capture the true joy of our special day were beyond phenomenal.
I had initial nerves about wedding photography because, let's face it, these are the memories that last a lifetime. Maria and Scott quickly put those fears to rest with their exceptional talent. Maria, and her husband, were the perfect photographers for my vow renewal with my husband. The entire process, from beginning to end, was seamless and easy.
When I was looking at photographers to book for our event, I looked at many possibilities and websites, but Maria's page was the only one that featured a same-sex couple, which instantly made me feel comfortable. Then after speaking to her, we meshed well and I knew she would be able to capture the essence of the day.
During the event itself, Maria and her husband were very comforting and kind. They were very professional but also flexible and able to get the job done while allowing us and our guests to have fun during the process. They were there to guide the photography of the day without adding pressure.
To top it off, the photos all came out amazing and were so beautiful!!

Choosing Maria to photograph our wedding was one of the best choices we made. We know what it’s like to search through a ton of photographers and reviews, so if you’re reading this, we highly recommend her work! We had a micro wedding and having her and Scott there during our day felt like an extension of our group. For such an intimate event, it felt so natural to have them there. They’re extremely personable and made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. It was so fun to work with them. The photography was focused on us having the day and timeline we wanted. Aside from their photos turning out gorgeous, it is a pleasure working with them throughout the whole process. Amazing!
We were fortunate enough to have Maria and Scott capture our engagement photos and wedding photos. I truly wouldn’t want to use anyone else. From our first call, we immediately hit it off. My wife and I connected with Maria Silva-Goyo Photography through a mutual friend whose wedding photos were captured by Maria and Scott. We were looking for a photographer for our engagement party at a beautiful destination along the Hudson. When we first met with them, Maria and Scott were professional and personable. They clearly had lots of experience, which made the process so easy for us. It was completely stress free and we felt lucky to find someone that we could trust to capture these important moments with family and friends.
Fast forward to the event, the helped us stay organized and on time based on the list of photo moments that we provided them. Amongst the chaos of the event, it was clear that they were on a mission to do their job well. They captured not only amazing moments during the event, but they also pulled us aside for more intimate pictures of the two of us as a couple (my favorite ones.) They even brought a drone which was so cool and led to some amazing pictures!!!
Following the event, we were excited to receive the photos in a timely manner. They turned out better than we could have hoped.
I cannot recommend Maria Silva-Goyo Photography enough. When you want to capture your special moments and cherish the photos for years to come, you can trust Maria and Scott to deliver! -

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed working with Maria & Scott. We were fortunate to stumble upon Maria's website during our search process, and once we viewed her online portfolio, it was a no-brainer.
Maria truly makes moments come to life in her work. She was easy to communicate with, both via email and through video call. She asked precise questions about our vision for the big day and worked with us to get the most out of our budget.
We loved her easy-going nature and ability to communicate with our families in Spanish as well. If you think you aren't photogenic, Maria will prove otherwise. When we were unsure of how to engage with each other in front of the camera, Maria made it feel like we were working with friends. While she suggested certain looks or poses, she encouraged us to be ourselves, which ultimately shined in the photos.

In September of 2021, shortly after moving in with my girlfriend, Christina, we were visiting a friend in Wildwood, NJ for the weekend and had several beautiful weather days on the beach. Especially the last morning, where I finally thought to myself after 6 and 1/4 years together it was time to begin the process of buying an engagement ring for Christina :). So after I purchased the ring and thought of the time/place, I remembered she requested that whenever we get engaged that there be a photographer. So my mother began looking at wedding websites and found a few that were expensive and not available for the day I targeted, November 6th 2021. After looking through several websites and finding no one local to Cape May, NJ, we opened up the search and my mom forwarded me the information for Maria Silva-Goyo from Pennsylvania, who happened to have a wedding at Peter Shields in Cape May, the exact town where I was going to propose to Christina on the same date. I saw a few pictures of Maria's work online and was sold.
Then came engagement day, Maria was very responsive and reassuring that she and her boyfriend, Scott, will be on the beach in location for the proposal shot. It came time to enter the beach with Christina - who thought she was getting a puppy - I let everything in the world go - including wondering where Maria and Scott would be - and enjoyed the moment and asked Christina to marry me on the beach in Cape May :), I vividly recall as I dropped to a knee to reach for the ring box seeing two photographers - swoop in to capture our perfect moment together. And the picture of the moment Christina said yes, is absolutely beautiful!!! (I'll share in the notes :)). To make it even better, we received photos that same night to share with family and friends!
Afterwards, we had a one hour proposal photo session on the beach and those pictures came out incredible and it was the most fun hour together. We quickly got to know Maria and Scott and noticed how friendly and courteous they are.
Then came the wedding planning! During this process, we reconnected with Maria to let her know of our wedding date, Friday October 4th 2024 in Cape May, and we also booked our engagement session which was in June of 2023 in Cape May as well. After our perfect engagement and photo session we had to make sure we worked with than Maria and Scott. She even gave us a discount and a complimentary engagement session! Unreal!
Then came the engagement session the next year which was beautiful. We included our puppy Maui and the shots came out wonderfully! I believe Maria and Scott gave us an extra 30 minutes as we traveled all throughout Cape May. It was a blast and another example of the incredible work and person that Maria is.
Now it was finally time to get married to Christina! Maria was so easy to work with during the chaotic - but amazing - wedding planning process. She got back in contact a couple months prior to 10/4 and had Christina and I send her everything we were looking for.
Then came wedding day! We scheduled for 7 hours with Maria and Scott and they arrived at 1245pm and the ceremony was scheduled for 3pm. All of the getting ready pictures and prep went great and Maria even helped me finish tying the bow-tie I wore. It was literally 10 minutes prior to the ceremony at the Cape May Convention Hall and inside while we waited to enter Maria got one of the associates to give her a pushpin to tighten my bow-tie. Just another example of how she went above and beyond. Maria and Scott took perfect pictures during our ceremony, capturing everything from Christina walking down the aisle, to me crying, to our vows, our first kiss, and our dip kiss walking out of the ceremony. Then family photos and pictures of the beach were so fun and came out beautifully. We even escaped for sunset pictures during the reception. Maria and Scott captured everything we wanted and more. They were hand and hand with Christina and I from start to finish and one thing I thought was so cool was how they asked for a picture with us in the glam booth we had! Talk about a full circle moment!! Oh and we only were contracted with them until 745pm and they stayed for the entire wedding which ended at 9pm, just because they enjoyed it so much...no extra charge!
Three days after our wedding we received dozens of sneak-peak photos that were amazing! Then about 6 weeks afterwards Christina and I received an album of probably 300+ pictures, incredibly captured and edited, from every part of our wedding day. So above and beyond and it was such a pleasure working with Maria and Scott.
It was a blessing that we found Maria and what started as an email introduction turned into photos of priceless moments from the two best days of our lives and a very good friendship in the end.
I recommend Maria Silva-Goyo to ANYONE who is looking to get engaged, get married, have children, anniversaries, big parties. She is incredible and her work is second to NO ONE! Christina and I look forward to future life events where we will work with Maria in addition to being friends. -

We can not begin to say enough good things about Maria Silva-Goyo Photography. While searching for our wedding photographers, we were looking for documentary-style photography to capture the story of our day, editing that stayed true to color and used depth of focus to help frame the perfect moments, and someone who we’d want to spend our entire wedding day around (you spend 6+ hours with your photographers–make sure you vibe well!).
Maria was exactly what we were looking for. She is fun, professional, and captured all of our day perfectly. She managed to capture the cuteness of our derpy moments together as well as all of the love we share with each other and our friends and family. Maria was willing to try different ideas with the area around our venue to capture some truly unique wedding photos and also dealt with the bride’s incredibly large immediate and extended family for photos and managed to get all of us in one shot (no easy feat)! We felt incredibly at ease around both her and her husband, Scott, and are grateful for their friendship and support through our wedding day and beyond. The photo books Maria works with you to create are stunning and look like they belong in storybook libraries. Captured the best day ever!
We were blown away with our experience working with Maria & Scott for our wedding. From day one, the process was easy, and we really enjoyed talking with Maria. She helped us realize what we wanted and helped us determine the style of photos we wanted which turned out exactly how I wanted. Maria and Scott are just the most amaizng humans! I met them at a wedding back in Oct of 21 and knew I had to have them if I got engaged! Well I did! We are getting married July of 24 but just had our engagement shoot with Maria and Scott and the photos were beyond our expectations! First off, they get your pictures back the fastest I have ever seen in this industry. Now with fast service sometimes quality can suffer— Maria’s and Scott’s DID NOT! The quality was pure perfection and the pics were so dreamy! Every single family and friend we showed our pictures too LOVED them! I mean how can they not!?
We were with them for quite some time and they were so funny, down to earth, chill and made us so comfortable taking pics when we for sure were nervous going into the shoot!
We cannot wait for our wedding and to see the magic Maria and Scott create on our wedding day! Can’t wait to see you guys soon!!!

Incredible photographer and person
Maria was the first vendor we booked after we found our wedding venue, since we were looking for specific things in a wedding photographer: a documentary/photojournalism style with natural-looking color grading; expertise in beach and daytime photography; and experience photographing LGBTQ+ couples -- and all of this within our budget. Maria checked all our boxes and even boxes we didn't even think to look for. She was so flexible and responsive in all our interactions with her, and even adjusted our timeline to include meeting up with us for sunset photos several hours after our daytime reception concluded. She surprised us with polaroids at the end of the day, which we were able to display at home right away, sent us a large number of sneak peek photos a few days after our wedding, and even included a montage video set to our processional song with our full gallery. Probably the best part of working with Maria (and Scott, her second photographer) is that while she is very professional, she is also down-to-earth and lets her personality shine through in all her interactions with her clients and in her web and Instagram presence.
Since we knew our wedding photographer would be right up close while we experienced some of the most special moments of our relationship, we needed to feel like we somewhat knew and could trust that person, and we definitely felt that level of comfort with Maria and Scott. I'm someone who is very awkward whenever a camera is pointed at me, but they captured moments when I wasn't even aware of them shooting. When we received our gallery, looking at the photos brought us right back to our wedding day. We're having trouble narrowing down which ones to print or post, we love so many of them! If you're looking for photographers for your wedding who will work with you and are just kind, friendly people, we can't recommend Maria and Scott highly enough. If we ever have any other big life events we'd like photographed in the future, we'd reach out to them in a heartbeat. -

Maria and Scott were AMAZING. They were so friendly and personable and made you feel at ease, especially on a crazy day like your wedding. They made our vision come true
Working with Maria and Scott was absolutely wonderful and I would recommend them to everyone. They were efficient and excelled at pulling us away for quick shots when the lighting was good, and then just letting us have fun the rest of the time! They knew we wanted to spend as much time with our guests as possible, and gave great suggestions on how to maximize our time as well as get beautiful photos. They had such a good eye for finding places to take photos, and put together some really awesome double exposure shots. We loved that they had a photojournalism approach for the reception and were always on the outskirts snapping shots of the guests having a blast dancing along to the band. So easy and fun to work with, you won’t regret choosing them for your special day!

Talented, professional and flexible
Maria and Scott were amazing to work with from start to finish during our wedding and wedding planning process. They are professional and flexible. They created beautiful photos for our engagement shoot as well as our wedding. It rained the entire day of our wedding day but Maria really made the rain work for us and was about to get absolutely stunning photos! They also sent our photos to us in the time frame they projected in our contract. I could not recommend them enough and I am so happy with the photos that my husband and I will get to enjoy for a lifetime. -

My husband and I could not have asked for a better experience, more beautiful photos, or two more wonderful people to work with than Maria and Scott. Where is even the best to start describing Maria & Scott as photographers?
Let me start by saying, if you are just looking for someone to simply capture a few photos for your wedding or special event, Maria and Scott are not the right photographers for you. This is because they are SO MUCH more than photographers, the way they make you feel comfortable in front of the lens, or in the in-between conversations between photos leads them to feel more like friends and family than just your wedding photographer.
These are two of the most incredible human beings that I have had the pleasure of coming across and every day I think about how lucky I am to have found them; again not only as photographer but as friends, which is what I would consider them now.

Maria and Scott are the perfect dynamic wedding duo! Their friendly and professional style is fantastic. I found these two while they were photographing a friend's wedding that I was in. I knew that I needed them for my wedding! Two years later, I reached out and booked them for our big day. They are great at keeping things moving and organized by reaching out beforehand and coordinating the day of. I worked with them without a planner, and things went super smoothly. We had an engagement session as well, and it was the perfect time for us to all get to know one another. Amazing! The photographers you’ve been looking for…
Look no further for a wedding photographer. Right off the bat, we were impressed with how quickly and efficiently Maria was with responding to all of our emails. She was easy to communicate with through the whole wedding planning process and was so flexible with my crazy schedule. On the wedding day, Maria and Scott went above and beyond for us! Our venue was under construction and they did everything they could to give us our dream wedding pictures. The pictures are gorgeous regardless of the time of day, which shows how skilled they are in dealing with different lightings. My husband and I are awkward when it comes to posing, but Maria and Scott made us feel so comfortable and helped style us in picture perfect ways! Obsessed with our wedding photos!
Maria is the not only the nicest person ever, but we are absolutely obsessed with our wedding photos. We wanted light, airy, natural moments captured and that’s exactly what she does. It is hard to put into words how incredible our experience was hiring Maria and Scott as our wedding photographers. We were married on the Jersey shore in Belmar NJ and I was drawn to their work because of the documentary style, especially with locations outdoors and at the beach, and the emotion I felt when I looked at her portfolios of weddings they had shot and the moments they chose to capture. Besides meeting all of the obvious logistical criteria - great communication, organized, and timely, they are an incredibly easy going couple and make you feel comfortable in your first moments together. On our wedding day, Maria and Scott helped ease us into our first look, gave us great direction and got us to have a lot of fun, they created moments for us and opportunities to be ourselves and we laughed a lot, family portraits and the specific shots were flown through because they give great direction and are very organized, during our reception they were present and captured some great action shots but were never overbearing. We enjoyed them and their energy so much, as a special touch they provided us with 3 Polaroid print outs that they printed on sight before they left us! Even more exciting is that not even a week later we had a sneak peak of photos from our wedding, followed only a month later by our entire event. We are in love with the way they captured us and the moments of our wedding day and the joy they brought us just by being themselves. Choosing the right wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions you make and we love you Maria and Scott! Thank you thank you! -

From our first interaction, we knew that Maria and Scott would be the perfect photographers for us. Their website provided a user-friendly atmosphere, which is SO important when you are planning a million things for your wedding. Maria was always readily available to answer any questions that we had and just helped us to navigate through the wedding process. At our wedding, Maria and Scott fit perfectly into our family and friends and interacted in a professional but friendly manner. Our family could not say enough about them and how wonderful they were to interact with. All of our family and friends commented on how great they were on the day of the wedding. They are kind, funny, and generous people and it was a true pleasure to work with them. Not to mention the photos are absolutely GORGEOUS! They surpassed our expectations, and I am so glad that we chose to work with them! 10/10 would recommend! -

Maria and Scott are a DREAM. TEAM. From the very first time I contacted Maria (2 years out from our wedding!) she was kind, responsive, and thorough. We were planning a mini destination wedding and Maria did not even hesitate in saying yes to joining us on our little adventure! She consistently responded to my many emails, helped us plan our engagement shoot locations and outfits, our wedding timeline, etc. etc. etc. You name it--Maria helped us with it. Scott consistently made us laugh, held my flowers and my dress and my water on the wedding day. They truly go above and beyond for their clients.
For starters--Our engagement shoot that was only supposed to last 1 hour--ended up lasting 4. Maria and Scott kept us laughing the entire time and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. They are both so passionate about what they do, and that shines in the way they carry themselves. They even held our dog for us when he was being just a littttle bit crazy during the shoot.
I think the most important piece of information about Maria and Scott (besides their absolutely incredible work--that speaks for itself) are just that they are GOOD humans who care so much about other humans. For example, Maria went out of her way to take photos during our engagement shoot of a family who were trying to get a selfie right in the direct sunlight...then promised to email them to them for free. She also sent us a surprise photo book after our wedding after she checked in on us nearly everyday when we were going through a hurricane on our honeymoon. These are just two examples of how incredible of a person Maria is.
We hired them for our wedding, but I really feel we made lifelong friends. We will never hire any other photographer again. Our family has even used Maria and Scott for their photos as well. We will forever cherish the photographs Maria and Scott took for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you. -

Maria (& Scott) were just absolutely incredible. She takes amazing photos, I can't even wait to see final results of my wedding shots. She was so responsive and personable through email communication. My favorite part of our wedding night was the sample mini Polaroids as a keepsake. Amazing. I'm so pleased with my choice to use her for our big day. -

Maria and Scott were dream photographers! I stumbled upon their website while looking for local vendors for our wedding. Peering through their gallery, I saw the quality and style of there work was just what I was looking for. From sending the first inquiry to seeing the finalized photos, we were in constant communication and never worried about a single detail. Leading up to the wedding she asked all the right questions and assured we were on the same page. On the wedding day, they immediately came to us and asked if everything was good. Which helped the crazy environment have a calm aura. They went into action and were extremely professional and quick. The wedding party even noted how they did an excellent job. Throughout the rest of the day they blended into the crowd and venue and were able to capture plenty of beautiful and emotional moments.
After the wedding, we still contacted each other back an forth about the photos. One really nice feature is the online gallery available to you. There you can see all of the photos and even order prints. When my husband and I looked over them, it was like we were reliving the day all over again. I am amazed and in awe of how everything came together. If you are considering Maria and Scott for your pictures, go for it! -

I have been working with Maria since we hired her back in March/April of 2019. She has done our engagement photos which we loved. And I was so excited to see how our wedding photos would turn out for our May 2020 wedding….. well covid-19 happened and we decided to postpone our wedding.
From my first encounter I could tell Maria would be a kind hearted person. I really got to see how much of an amazing human begin she truly is. She reached out to me and checked in on our plan for our May 2020 wedding date. When we told her we were going to postpone, she was very flexible and accommodated our new plan.
But that is not the true example of how amazing, flexible, and dream accomplishing this photographer is. In July I had a crazy idea to elope. We found a gorgeous little venue and set up a date for July 19, 2020 to get married. I reached out to Maria and asked if she could photograph my elopement (WITH LESS THAN A 2 WEEK NOTICE). She was a dream maker! She said yes and was thrilled to be a part of our elopement. My elopement was not what I had planned for a year. But it was a beautiful and a special moment. Maria really made it a special event. She made my husband and I a small wedding cake (such an amazing surprise) and took flawless pictures (seriouslythe picturesare breathtaking). Although we did not have family and friends at our elopement. Maria and Scotty truly made it feel like we were surrounded by people that cared about us and felt like family and friends. I am so grateful and thankful for her and her amazing skills with a camera.
If you are looking for a photographer who has amazing talent with a camera and who will treat you like family, look no further because Maria Silva-Goyo is the one. -

October 4, 2019 was literally the best day of my life. Elisa and I could not have picked a better photographer! Everyone said during the planning process to make sure you get a good photographer because your wedding photos are really the only memory you’ll have of that day and it is the absolute truth. Maria and Scott not only captured every single moment but the photos they took literally made me feel like I was reliving my wedding day. Me and my now wife ;) in almost every single photo feel the love and emotions all over again. They both are just the most absolute sweetest people and are amazing at what they do! They never missed any of the important moments and made the awkward photo taking process 10x easier lol. Our wedding photos are officially a piece to my heart and we will forever cherish them ❤️ Even after the wedding Maria and I have stayed in contact and already have our next photo shoot setup but this time with our fur babies! From engagement photos to wedding to now fur baby photos we will use them for EVERYTHING and I can’t wait till we need you guys for a maternity shoot! You will not be disappointed when you hire Maria and Scott. They did our our engagement shoot which came out amazing but their expertise really shown through during our wedding day! They were so much more than our photographers. They helped us with our wedding day schedule, helped to corral our family the day of, helped to put on my husband's boutonniere and so much more. They were such an integral part of our wedding and I couldn't imagine our day without them. To top it off, the photos came out stunning! My family said that we looked like models. -

I had found Maria on The Knot. We were not sure what to expect because I did not know anyone that had used her before. Upon meeting with her and looking over her work, we decided to book her for our engagement pictures and May 2019 wedding.
She suggested our location for engagement pictures, which I would never have thought of and they turned out great. However, we just received our wedding pictures and they exceeded all ideas I had for them. I literally cannot stop looking at them all (and there are a lot of pictures). I’m not sure anyone else could have captured our day as well as Maria and Scott. Every moment that happened was captured beautifully (even the crazy, tipsy dancing candids). I can’t imagine the time and work that was put into editing each image, but the end result was so worth it!
It can be worrying to spend money on someone’s service for such a big moment in your life, especially without knowing their work. However, our end result was beyond amazing!! -

Maria was absolutely perfect for our special day. She was very flexible with our time line (we had to move up our wedding date last minute). She was professional and respectful of the wedding party and guests’ space. We didn't even know she was there, yet she captured every moment of our wedding. We felt very comfortable with Maria as she is kind and easy going. By the end of the wedding she felt like part of the family. Maria was the perfect photographer for us! She was laid back but gave direction when needed and communication with her before our big day was a breeze. She captured our day the exact way we wanted her to...with lots of candid photos. During the ceremony she was noninvasive but managed to capture the little faces we made to each other...including my “oops” face when I accidentally spilled the glass beads during our pouring ceremony. Given the fact that my husband and I are photographers on the side we shopped around to make sure we found the quality of work we wanted for the right price point. Maria did not disappoint! I would definitely recommend her to any couple looking for a wedding photographer! -

My husband and I had a photo shoot done for our fourth Wedding Anniversary. Maria and Scott we're amazing. They made us feel super relaxed and gave the gentle encouragement we needed to get into the moment. We really wanted to capture our connection on film, so to speak, as we didn't have any professional photos from our original Wedding day. When we got the photos back, we sat together, and while listening to music looked through the photoshoot. It was exactly what we hoped for. With happy tears going down my cheek, I saw our love, our connection, right there, captured in time, in photos for us to share with our families and for us to be able to reflect on for a lifetime. I can't recommend Maria enough. She has a natural talent and is a wonderful person to top it all off. ❤️ -

Our wedding day was freezing and she was able to improvise and still get wonderful photos inside. Her lighting quality and style was exactly what I was looking for!
