My wife and I recently had the wedding of our dreams, all planned and managed by Maria.
She took the lead on planning and bringing together vendors, decorations, and day-of scheduling to craft _three_ events for our wedding guests, who flew in from all around the world. This was done while my wife and I lived halfway across the world and without us stepping foot in Greece until a few days before. Literally, all parts of the three days of events were taken care of. Maria was able to take a few ideas we initially shared of what we wanted and create an experience filled with beauty, friends + family, lots of delicious food, and lots of dancing!
In short, my wife and I can't plan a picnic, but we had the wedding of the year. Maria, thank you for a lifetime of memories.

Maria Damanaki is an exceptional wedding planner (and person) who will make your dream come true. She is one the most professional and talented people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.
For context, we’re a Greek-American couple and worked with Maria starting in Fall 2024 to plan a 2025 Greek Orthodox religious wedding ceremony and reception in the Athens Riviera, which also included pre- and post-wedding events.
This was a massive undertaking, and my wife and I interviewed over a dozen planners. After talking with Maria, we immediately knew we found the right one. What I really appreciated when initially speaking with Maria is that she told us she was committed to designing our wedding, as opposed to giving us a one-size-fits-all package deal. She asked questions and helped piece together the vision, while making it clear she would never pressure us to do something one specific way.
We were on a slightly more accelerated timeline (10 months out), but thanks to Maria everything worked out perfectly. Throughout the process Maria was highly organized, extremely transparent, and incredibly patient. She was with us every step of the way to help identify the right venues, select the best vendors, facilitate with the Church, help with invitations/guest management, and give us invaluable advice based on her extensive experience.
The wedding and events Maria created for us exceeded our wildest expectations. Every last event was exceptional and everything was done with care down to the last detail. She and her team were also there every step of the way, and all of our events were organized down to the minute (her timeline sheets are the most organized thing I’ve ever seen).
Maria also went above and beyond to make our wedding a success. There were various things she and her team did for us that weren’t in the job description but really made her stand out.
Besides her professional expertise, Maria is also a wonderful person who truly cares about her clients and takes time to get to know the people she works with on a personal level. Planning a wedding is difficult, and Maria always showed us kindness and compassion throughout the process. There were many occasions where she stayed with us on calls to listen to our worries, concerns, and anxieties (some event related, some just personal). She would give both professional and personal advice, always with a sense of humor and reassurances that things would work out.
We forged a close connection that continues to this day, and I’m so grateful we worked with her. She was true to her word; she designed our wedding, and it was magnificent. I couldn’t make a stronger recommendation and would encourage any couple to hire her for their special day.

Η Μαρία από τη πρώτη μέρα που την γνωρίσαμε μας εξέπληξε με τον επαγγελματισμό της και την ευγένεια της ! Μας διοργάνωσε το γάμο των ονείρων μας όπως ακριβώς το επιθυμούσαμε και ξεπέρασε κάθε προσδοκία μας ! Σε κάθε βήμα ήταν δίπλα μας τόσο σε επαγγελματικό επίπεδο όσο και σε προσωπικό . Όλη η προετοιμασία του γάμου μας έγινε με ηρεμία και προγραμματισμό χωρίς να αγχωθούμε καθόλου και αυτό το οφείλουμε αποκλειστικά σε εκείνη. Maria Damanaki was recommended as one of the wedding planners to contact following our venue booking. From the first meeting, we knew that we wanted Maria to plan our wedding. She was proactive from the get-go, having researched and contacted vendors for some traditional cultural elements that we wanted to include as part of our event. She was courteous, warm, and professional from the start, and we were able to build a trusting relationship with her. Being in Dubai, we had entrusted her with all elements related to our wedding, and she delivered all that and then some. She is one of the most organized people I have ever met, and working with her was an absolute dream. She was very responsive, flexible, and super collaborative on all things wedding. Despite our distance, we felt like Maria knew exactly what we wanted and delivered what turned out to be the most magical three days for us. Her connections with vendors in Athens, and her willingness to solve any potential challenges that came our way were dealt with with ease and professionalism. She was absolutely wonderful throughout the whole experience, both on Zoom and in person. She gave us all the information we needed, she tracked all expenses, and she made us aware of our budget restrictions (and provided solutions to keep the authenticity of the wedding and how we wanted it to be). She also gave us deadlines well in advance to make sure we stayed on track at all times, and worked within our timelines to assist us as best as she could. She made every minute of the planning process a very stress-free one, and we honestly had a great time planning our wedding with her. Maria is very experienced in her field, and delivered everything she said she would in a professional and friendly manner. We loved our time with Maria – she helped us to create our dream wedding, with our selected budget, and with our nearest and dearest. She will forever be recommended by us to our friends and families who are looking to host any events in Athens, and we love her! Maria was such a positive figurehead in the planning process, and I wouldn’t have asked for anyone better than her to take care of our special event. -

Maria was AMAZING. She is kind, caring, detail-oriented, and super easy to work with. We were very nervous about hiring a wedding planner and trusting someone with such a big event and expense, especially since we are not Greek and we live abroad.
When we met Maria, she made us feel super comfortable, and eventually felt like she was part of our family. We could not have done this without her she was 100% worth every penny and more. She is there with you for every decision and never pressures you to go with one vendor or another- she really wants what is best for you. Highly highly recommend! -

I found Maria online after my husband and I decided to get married in Greece! I had no idea where to start and we wanted to have a destination wedding that would honor both of our cultures as I am American and my husband is Greek. From our very first communication, Maria has been responsive and taken great care in her work. Maria provided everything from start to finish: she helped us come up with a vision and theme for our wedding, helped us create a budget, she helped us curate so many customized design choices that made our wedding feel special and personal to us. Maria has a background in design and you can tell that she has amazing taste and an eye for crafting a beautiful aesthetic. She also helped me understand all of the Greek wedding customs and provided guidance along the way about how to make the wedding feel inclusive to both of our cultures. She has many contacts with local vendors at her fingertips and a great deal of experience with printing as well. Because of this the pace of planning was very easy and my friends were always surprised when I'd tell them I'm not stressed about the wedding planning because I have a great planner lol! On the day of; Maria and her staff were very attentive and ensured that the day went smoothly and the final result was a dream come true. On top of all this, Maria is just really warm and friendly. I felt comfortable sharing my thoughts and feelings with her throughout the process. I highly recommend going with Maria if you are someone who is meticulous and likes attention to detail! Maria is EVERYTHING I could have hoped for in a wedding planner and more!! Maria is kind, creative, responsive, resourceful and fun! We had three days of wedding celebrations with 200 people from 10+ countries and everything ran smoothly because of Maria. Maria is there for you before, during and AFTER the wedding and she is so much fun to work with that she removes all the stress that comes with wedding planning. She is so great and threw such a fun event that many of our guests asked for her contact information so that Maria could plan their weddings! Maria saved the day when I was having a venue crisis after all my save the dates had been sent out. It was impossible to plan my wedding while abroad (time differences, language differences) and Maria made it seamless. She is so organized and detail-oriented, and has great taste/suggestions. Maria Damanaki - an awesome wedding planner!
Maria Damanaki was an extraordinary wedding planner! She listened carefully to the couple’s requests, anticipated all of the elements for the wedding, worked with the couple within their demanding schedules (across multiple time zones), provided options and ideas within their budget and collaborated with them to plan a wedding that was elegant, over-the-top, and so much fun! It was totally enjoyed by all who attended and most of all by the couple! Not only did she plan the wedding day event and wedding party preparation events, Maria also planned the cocktail reception the night before and the wedding brunch the day after and these were also beautifully done, with class and they were so very much enjoyed by all guests! Maria is kind, easy to work with, very resourceful and worked hard to provide the best selections and create a memorable event for everyone! We had the best planner and would do this all over again with her! She is awesome! -

Maria is professional, funny, smart, and is the most wonderful person I have ever worked with. She made my dream wedding come true in the most beautiful place imaginable. Before deciding on working with Maria, I talked to 4 other wedding planners and none of them wanted to take the time to know me and if I wanted to schedule a long meeting to talk about potential plans, I had to put down a non-refundable deposit first which is absolutely ridiculous.
Maria is nothing like the rest. She was so informative when we first met and we were able to set up a timeline of what I had imagined for the wedding as well as telling me some great ideas I could do for the wedding. After speaking with her, I immediately knew she was the one because she is so friendly and kind. I bonded with Maria so fast and I will cherish her as a friend for life.
She loves to keep you updated with photos and videos about decorations and venues. She made the cutest flip flops for my guests at the wedding and she was able to incorporate some traditional Crete drinks (Raki) at the wedding which I though was perfect since my wedding was held there and I was able to pay my respects to the island and culture.
She is also VERY organized and great at budgeting, in fact I had my dream wedding and was actually under budget! That way my husband and I had some extra cash to spend on our honeymoon!
Before the wedding started, we met Maria in Athens for a quick tour of where the locals like to go and it was so amazing. She took time out of her own day on a weekend to meet with us in person, talk about wedding plans, AND showed us around for a little bit so we understood more about everyday Greek life.
Overall, Maria is the best person to help you plan for your special day, birthday, or anything really! I know that if I want to celebrate something again and it involves a party, Maria is someone I will always go back to. -
