    Wedding of my Dreams!

Marathon Village allowed me to have the wedding I dreamt of! It was a gorgeous venue with the string lights and exposed bricks plus the view of Nashville's skyline you can't get anywhere else. It was the perfect room to fit 115 people and had plenty of space to dance. Victoria and the staff were lovely to work with and had an answer for everything.

    Amazing experience and beautiful location!

Barry and his team at Marathon Village were absolutely amazing! His staff was very easy to communicate with and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. They were great with all of our vendors as well. Highly recommend this incredible location!

The venue is beautiful. We were going for a vintage look, and this definitely fit the bill. The lighting is low, but we used string lights and chandeliers, and it definitely helped. We had approximately 150 guests, and we used 15 round tables and 4 8-foot rectangle tables. There was plenty of room for a small dance floor, a photo booth, and serving lines for the food. I highly recommend this place. I also loved the fact that I could choose my own vendors. The one thing I would say to be aware of....there is no elevator, and the venue is on the third floor. Your guests must be able to climb stairs, and vendors may charge an additional fee because of it. There is also an option of renting the space the day before to decorate for an additional fee of $700.00. If it's in your budget, it's a very good idea to do that. All in all, I love the venue and Kelly was very easy to work with. I highly recommend Marathon Village! :)

We had our reception at Marathon Village. It was one of the first locations I visited and I always went back to it through out my search. I loved the exposed brick and cedar beams. Very industrial looking. They were very helpful with any planning you needed. They are one of the few locations in Nashville where you can bring in your own caterer (or bring your own food) as well as your own liquor. This was a huge cost savings for us. We hired a professional bartender and brought our own alcohol and saved thousands of dollars as opposed to paying per drink at most venue! I would recommend this location to anyone. (downfall is it is on the 3rd floor and no elevator) but once you are up there, there is no need to come down until you leave!

Marathon Village was the PERFECT place for our wedding reception. They were very flexible in allowing us to visit as many times as we wanted prior to the reception. We did not have a wedding planner, so this was extremely important to us. For an additional $300, they also allowed us to come in on Friday and decorate. This was a HUGE help... since we did everything ourselves, we could not have decorated Marathon Village without that extra day.

All of our guests LOVED this venue and continue to comment on how beautiful and unique it was. It is the perfect place for brides who want an empty and blank space to work with. The only issue we had was that the venue itself is kind of dirty. At the end of the night, my white dress was gray/black on the bottom. Also, the refrigerators in the kitchen were disgusting (the groom's mother spent hours cleaning them herself, so the next couple of brides shouldn't have an issue with that). Other than that, I highly recommend using Marathon Village - we couldn't have been happier with our decision!

We loved this venue. We had a great experince and would highly recommend this to anyone planning a wedding. Most of our gest had not been to the venue before and they all loved it. The view of down town is amazing, even more beautiful at night.

Let me just start by saying that finding an indoor venue in Nashville is a challenge. If you don't mind getting the bottom of your white dress dirty and getting married in a place a little rough around the edges, Marathon Village is for you.
I wanted a vintage, 1920's themed wedding and Marathon was perfect. Industrial ceilings, brick interior, old staircases, yes please! The history of the building as well as the car museum downstairs were an instant hit with our 100 guests. I got multiple remarks about how cool the venue is. It is in a pretty ghetto area, but the place is nice and safe.

Cindy, the office manager was the greatest. She helped me a ton and answered all my questions in plenty of time. They are extremely flexible with your time frame, decorations, etc.

    Recommendations:
Make or buy parking signs, it can get a little confusing if you don't know exactly which building you are going into. The GPS just leads you to the area.

Pay an extra $150 to get the building the day before to set up. Let them know what time you will be there so they can clean the floors beforehand.

Very low lighting, so plan accordingly. We turned the lights towards the dance floor but probably should have had some lighting.

Know about the stairs. They are a doozy. I had to pay my rental company $300 extra dollars for the guys to carry the stuff up and down the stairs. Totally worth it, but know it may happen.

    Love Marathon!!!

Marathon Villages pro's definitly out way the con's. The place is very ventage and your pictures will turn out amazing. The rental is very decent compared to other downtown venues. The view at night of downtown Nashville is one of a kind. The staff was so wonderful and easy to work with. They made sure I had any and everything I needed. The one and ONLY one con (though its a big one), is the venue is located on the third floor of the building. There is NO ELEVATOR! It is NOT fun taking 100 of trips up and down getting ready for the reception. IT was very hot and by the end of the day I was extremely sore and worn out. Again, there are more pro's than con's to consider!!!

We held our wedding reception at Marathon Village in July 2006. It was truly perfect! The view of downtown is the selling point, but the history and the decor are also huge points too. The building is actually an old car factory, built in different phases between 1881 and 1912. They seem to have done a little bit here and there in way of renovations but it has remained fairly similar to its original incarnation. The only complaint that guests had was the lack of an elevator. It didn't bother me, but I had a few elderly relatives that had a hard time going up the two (very steep) flights. Also, most party rental places will charge you extra for delivering the tables and chairs up two flights of stairs. The cost was very reasonable ($600 and we had it the whole weekend), but I've heard they've gone up a bit in rates. With a little decorating work, the place can look truly gorgeous at night. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to have a party or wedding reception somewhere a bit out of the ordinary.

Beautiful venue for a great price

We unfortunately had to switch to a different venue, but we loved Marathon Village for it's unique beauty, flexibility, and great price. It's a great deal and it's located close enough to downtown that guests can easily visit, but yet far enough away that it's not super busy with traffic.

This is a great space! The brick is beautiful and raw and there is a great view of downtown outside the windows.

GREAT reception venue. It is HUGE and allowed us to have 13 tables, a buffet area, a photo booth, AND a dance floor. The lighting left a bit to be desired, but allowed us to decorate with hanging lights that definitely added to our decor. There was a little difficulty that the photographer had when transitioning between different lighting. We took the day before to set up, and it was absolutely necessary and nice to not have to think about it on the day of our wedding. The floors were VERY dirty, but you get what you pay for.

I held my wedding reception at Marathon. The rental fee is very reasonable for a downtown Nashville location. They have tables and chairs available for an additional fee, which is very helpful since it is a 3rd floor location with no elevator. It is a rustic looking space, with exposed brick and beams. There is a kitchen type area for a caterer.

They are extremely hands off when it comes to planning. You can bring whatever vendors you please, they have no rules about that. It seemed to me that they really didn't care what you did at all, as long as you didn't damage anything. The rental is for the full day up until 2 a.m. the next morning. You can set up the day before, as long as there are no other events, for an additional fee. It was really pretty at night with the view of the Nashville skyline.

There is no staff, so absolutely everything is left up to you to work out, right down to taking out the trash. They give you a number to call in the case of emergencies and for when the last person leaves so they can come lock up. It's basically just a blank space that you decorate yourself, set up yourself, and break down yourself. No elevator, everyone must walk up 3 flights of stairs. There is a very bizarre looking, huge white tiered structure in the middle of the room. We ended up displaying pictures on it and it turned out okay, but had a hard time figuring out what to do with it.
