We had a destination wedding, and Mara was truly a lifesaver, making my family and me feel beautiful and flawless! From the start, she was incredibly helpful—quick to respond to emails and calls, flexible with scheduling, and a pleasure to work with. Even from a distance, she made the entire process feel seamless.
On the big day, Mara and her team arrived right on time and immediately got to work bringing our vision to life. She took the time to get to know me and my family, customizing each look to perfectly match everyone's preferences. When it was my turn, she sat down with me to go over every detail—my dress, veil, hairstyle, and makeup—to make sure everything would come together flawlessly.
Mara also ensured that my hair would hold up all day (which it did beautifully!), and I can hardly begin to describe how happy I was with the final result. She nailed the makeup too—I felt beyond beautiful and so confident walking down the aisle.
Despite not being able to conduct a trial due to the distance, everything turned out exactly as I had imagined. The schedule ran like clockwork, with time to spare—no stress at all. Mara was such a calming and professional presence, and I would absolutely recommend her to any bride, especially for a destination wedding. She's amazing! -

Mara did my make up for my wedding and it was absolutely beautiful and stayed literally the entire day! I felt so glamorous for my big day. Not only is she an excellent artist but very relaxed and kind (which is important on your wedding day which can be stressful) and very collaborative as well. We did a trial the day before and if I had any feedback, she quickly would adjust as needed so we were in good shape going into wedding day. She also did both make up and hair for my mother, and my step mother in law, my maid of honor (hair only) and sister in law (make up only) - and everyone absolutely loved the finish result. Seriously, people kept complimenting my make up over and over again. I highly recommend Mara! Thank you Mara! -

Excellent experience - would recommend!
We had a destination wedding and Mara was such an asset! Very helpful in scheduling and answering questions over the phone and email, easy to work with, and great results. The day of, the team showed up right on time and took all of our looks and turned them into reality. Super impressed how on time everything ran and we even had a bit to spare. I wasn’t able to do a trial due to the distance but everything came out just how I hoped! Would most definitely recommend to others. -

I had Megan do my my makeup and It came out absolutely glowing and flawless - I could not be happier!!! I also loved my hair but I cannot remember the name of the stylist! All in all it was a fantastic experience & thank you for the touch up kit and aveda lip gloss!! -

Mara was the make-up artist for our entire bridal party and Maddie assisted with updos and blow-outs, and I couldn't be more pleased! They took the time, care, and attention to make each person look/feel their best! Regretfully, we got married during a heatwave, so the photos do not do her work justice as we walked out of the studio (which was adorable) looking like models. -

Mara made me look beautiful
Mara was amazing. She came to the room to do hair and makeup for my MOH and me. She was so kind and patient and really made us look amazing. I was a bit worried because I did not have a trial, but she made me feel beautiful on my amazing day. -

As the groom, I wanted to set-up the bridal party with their hair & makeup arrangements, but since we were doing a destination wedding, I knew it would be difficult not being able to visit with the vendor themselves or do a trial months in advance. Mara Michael was by far the BEST beauty service I could have asked for. The bride really enjoyed her trial prior to our rehearsal luau, and the bridal party LOVED the team that came over to work on them the day of our wedding - they were very impressed with how they could work so easily with such a variety of hair styles and makeup likes and dislikes. Every one of the girls felt like a beautiful part of our ceremony, just as I had hoped. Chantelle was THE BEST at answering all my questions, making sure I knew the details of everything I was planning for the bridal party, and making great recommendations. The options available for the bridal party was very impressive (they ended up getting mani’s/pedi’s done onsite as well). Our flower girl LOVED being treated like one of the girls, and for that we are truly thankful! If you are considering having the beauty team come out to where you are staying rather than going to their salon, the entire team was on time, professional and friendly, and never made anyone feel like, ‘just another customer’. Julia Sent on 10/19/2017Mara and her team are amazing! They came to our condo and did hair and makeup for me and my 7 bridesmaids. Everyone looked gorgeous and even in the hot Hawaii weather, my makeup looked flawless at the end of the night. They are all such talented girls, and I continue to see Mara as my hair stylist since I live on the island. Mahalo ladies!

Ami Sent on 10/11/2017If I could give more than 5 stars, I WOULD! Mara came to my room on my wedding day. She was punctual and professional as well as very kind. She listened to what each person in my bridal party wanted for hairstyles, and she nailed it! All of us were in complete awe, her hairstyles were magical and made all of us feel like princesses for my special day.

My husband and I got married in June 2018 in Kailua-Kona. Mara and her team came to the condo I was staying in, and they were so kind and truly amazing! My mom, my sister, and my maid of honor all got their hair and make-done with me, and we all felt very well taken care of, and beautiful! We live in GA, so we weren’t able to do a trial beforehand, but Mara still nailed it on the day of the wedding. I was also impressed at how well my hair and make-up stayed in pace throughout the night. Mara is great, and I highly recommend her and her team!

Jennifer Sent on 12/22/2017I was disappointed. I booked Mara, but she didn't come ... she sent two other people to do my hair and makeup, and she didn't tell me in advance. Just got my wedding pictures back and my hair was a hot mess and my makeup didn't look great in pictures at all. If you book Mara, make sure you are getting Mara.
