My husband bought my engagment ring and wedding band at Mappin's in Kitchener and he also purchased a necklace there. We had great service and the quality was outstanding. I love my ring and have had many compliments on it and my necklace. When I went there to get my husbands wedding band I was treated with great service. Although I had not purchased something there before they treated me like I had been one of their best customers. The sales representative that served me was great. He listened to what I was looking for and he also gave me a deal with one of his employee coupons. I would definitly recommend this store. I went to the one in Waterloo and did not receive the same type of serves and would not go back there again. The Kitchener store is the only one I would only go back to. Great sales and service.

The engagement ring my husband purchased was a single piece, not part of a set. The company did not however manufacture a matching band. Because of this we designed a band and had it created during a jewelry "restyling event". This was a huge rip-off. In order to design this band we selected a ring they already carried and had two grooves etched where each end of the channel set diamonds finish. The only changes to this band were four tiny lines etched into it. They estimated the cost as only slightly over the cost of the prototype band, and asked me to pay a deposit. When the band came in it looked great, but the actual cost of it was very inflated compared to the original estimate. I only bought it because of the hefty deposit they asked me to already pay.The engagement ring my husband purchased was a single piece, not part of a set. Please don't buy your wedding jewellery at Mappins. Since buying my original engagement ring years ago it's been nothing but a nightmare. I am so sad to have spent a dime at this company. They are rip off artists and liars.
Recently I went in to have my engagement ring diamond quoted for being set into a prong set bale. Simple. Nothing fancy. 14k.
The store manager assured me it was going to be around $160.
After having my diamond for weeks and weeks I finally (after me calling them repeatedly) was told it would cost $750 to put the diamond in cheap-ish bale!
The manager called me back and tried to offer me a deal at $350. She clearly "forgot" her original quote and tried to pass off the $350 as a deal offered by corporate.
This all started on December 11 2016. It's now February 1st 2017 and they have not yet returned my diamond. And when I called just now I was told that since the computers are not on they also can't write down my number to call me back...?
Mappins is a company without integrity.
They have staff eager to swindle you and then later when any warranty issue surfaces they are like sharks wanting to argue with you and find a way to make you pay more.
Please. Please. Please don't make the same mistake we did. Mappins is a terrible company to buy from. unreal, they send all their jewelry to British Columbia so it takes forever ............................ they promised 2 weeks takes over a month. I called and expressed a concern to Head office in Vancouver, I was told it a normal thing and they give me bunch of excusses (slow mail etc...) after I informed them that I will write a review on Google, they offered me $50 dollars credit.

Awful!
They lost my engagement ring when it was sent in for a "yearly cleaning" that they recommended.
When i went to pick it up it was a ring similar to mine with diamonds half the size.
They said they would get it figured out and that it may take a few weeks up to months to get it back and if not they would replace it with a similar ring.
I said I don't want a different ring, I want my ring; that my husband picked out for me.
It's still yet to be resolved.
Don't buy from these people!Awful!

Me and my husband purchased our wedding bands at Mappins In Timmins on. When we purchased the rings the sales lady was very nice and we decided to purchase the lifetime warranty for both rings as we were aware things happen.
Shortly after we got married I noticed my wedding band had a straight crack on the inside of the ring. My husband brought it to Mappins to have it repaired and was told it would be fixed and we would have it back in approx a month. When the ring came back it was picked up by my husband the sales rep stated all issues were fixed and sent hum on his way. I called them back when I noticed not only did my ring still have a straight crack in it but it did not look like the crack was at least smaller. I returned the ring (with sales slip in hand) and the sales rep accused me of trying to have them repair a ring that was not purchased there due to they could not find my info in their system. (my receipt clearly stated Mappins, Timmins square) They eventually took the ring to have it sent away to be repaired. When it was back (another month) the sales rep refused to give me my ring back stating they did not have it. I was beyond upset. Another sales rep got it for me. Ring was still not fixed but i had now noticed the diamonds on the bad were loose. They refused to do anything else and i was told i was on my own. I eventually spoke to the manager and also got nowhere as the manager stated there was nothing she could do.
I put in a complaint to the Mappins head office and long story short it has been over a year, my wedding band still has cracks, loose diamonds, and is kinda warped and I have yet to get anywhere.
I regret buying my wedding band at Mappins due to the headache of dealing with a defective product and basicly being told 'oh well' ... what a waste of moneyMe and my husband purchased our wedding bands at Mappins In Timmins on.
