  Beautiful makeup!

  Sophie did an amazing job on my makeup! She has done my makeup for other events as well, and she impresses me every single time. She is an extremely talented artist. On top of that, she is an experienced esthetician and is very knowledgable about skincare. She always provides great advice and recommendations on all things makeup, skincare, and overall wellness. She's also super fun and makes you feel so glam for the big day! I highly recommend Sophie!

  Marvelous Makeup by Maya

  The Sophie Marcs team came in clutch after I had to find a (new) makeup artist with less than a month before the wedding. It was very important to me to find a LGBTQ+ friendly makeup artist and SMBS came highly recommended. While Sophie wasn’t available, I was able to book with one of the assistants, Maya. Since we didn’t have time for a trial, we did a quick consultation call to review what I was looking for, any concerns or allergies I had, and the same for my bridesmaids. Maya did an excellent job on everyone’s makeup and had a great vibe with all of us getting ready. Maya even made each of us individual touch-up kits! While we didn’t need to use them since our makeup lasted through all of our pictures before the reception, it was a great peace of mind to know we had them if needed.

  Sophie is an incredible artist who not only considers your vision, but all the other factors that can affect your makeup - she considers skin type, allergies, lighting, weather, etc. And makes informed decisions that produce stunning results.
  She has a gentle touch and an expert hand. Her training is evident in her artistry, and her passion for what she does is obvious in the quality of her work and her kindness.
  
  I have also gone to Sophie for a facial and her approach to skin and making you feel relaxed, pampered and comfortable is unmatched by other estheticians. I’ve left other facials with marks and bruises from extractions; yet when Sophie worked on my face, I left with minimal redness and skin that looked gorgeous. Sophie listens - she listens to your skin concerns and listens to what your goals are for your skin and coaches you to try and reach those goals without trying to push products you don’t need or want to buy.

  A dream to work with!

  Sophie and her team were a dream to work with. Sophie was so easy to communicate during planning, was super flexible with trials (and in one case a re-trial) and her entire team was beyond talented. They were all open to feedback and made sure everyone was comfortable with their hair and makeup for the day. All my bridesmaids and parents could not stop raving about what a great experience it was. If you want to take some of the stress out of your wedding day, work with Sophie and her team. Cannot recommend them enough.

  Best make up artist for a queer wedding ever!

  Sophie, Allison and each of their assistants were exactly what we needed for our wedding. Their professionalism, sensitivity and utter joy for what they do was immensely appreciated by both of us. They really wanted both brides to feel comfortable in the exact way that each of us wanted our hair and make up. They were able to fully tailor their artistry for each of us and our entire I Do Crew. We simply can't imagine our wedding day with anyone else.

  The. Best. Ever.

  I don’t know if my words will do it justice about how wonderful Sophie is. From my first interaction with her at her job to setting up my make up trial and finally the day of my wedding, Sophie has been nothing but compassionate, thoughtful, patient, knowledgeable and professional. She was very responsive to my questions and texted or emailed quickly, even when I would ask her about my everyday makeup routine. She was very organized and that helped me feel confident in her. The day of my trial I was nervous about how I was going to look because I don’t wear alot of makeup and wanted to still feel like myself. This was also my first time having my makeup done. She did one side with air brush and the other side without. I could not tell the difference until i had one drink out to dinner and redness shown through on the side without airbrush. I have rosacea and it flares up with certain foods and drink. I did not want that at my wedding. The airbrush was the way to go! I also cried taking off my eyelashes. I never felt as pretty as i did that night and the makeup was just enough for me. I knew in that moment there wasn’t any other makeup artist i would choose from. Sophie was it! On the day of my wedding she came early and ready to work and was so friendly to my bridal party. All my life i hated the shape of my nose and she made me feel like I had no imperfections. The makeup stayed on all night, even with crying, dancing and sweating! And I never once saw my redness. My makeup never looked so good and I felt even more pretty than my trial. I received so many compliments about how perfect it looked and I couldn’t have been more grateful. I was so upset again to wash my face that night! I can’t wait until the next time i need my makeup done! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Sophie was also great to suggest and bring a fabulous team on board (Allison for hair and Jessica for other hair and make-up needs, especially our flower girls). Our trial was so simple yet, Allison, who did my hair, and Sophie had such detailed notes for the day of, and even gave up little kits if we needed to touch up throughout the day! Everyone from me, the bridesmaids, to the moms couldn't have been happier with how stunning we all looked! I personally was getting so many compliments about how beautiful my make-up and hair were. Thank you Sophie, Allison, and Jessica! You girls beautified the day even more!

  This was my second time working with Sophie, and once again, I was so happy with her work! She'll take any amount of input and turn it into just what you wanted. She really knows her stuff and can offer a lot of advice on various products or skincare, and she's also just so fun to talk with while she's making you look and feel good. Highly recommend!!

  I absolutely can not rave about Sophie enough. She did makeup for my sisters and I for my wedding. Not only was her artistry fantastic but she was also super accommodating on a very tight timeline. I'm a wedding photographer myself, I've worked with so many MUAs.. I know all of the red flags. Sophie is professional, talented and had such a great, positive energy that morning. If you're thinking of booking Sophie, don't hesitate!

  Sophie and her team treated me and my bridal party with the ultimate glam experience! It wasn’t just a makeup application service! She prepped my skin with nuFace tightening treatment, eyebrow tinting, proper skincare and the full glam customized makeup look! I didn’t only feel like the most beautiful bride, but my skin truly looked flawless! Her personality and professionalism was being exceptional!

She was very flexible as to timing and worked with me to meet my schedule. When it came time to apply my makeup, Sophie listened carefully as to what I wanted for myself - coloring, style, etc. She took that information and, using her expertise, created a look for me that was beautiful yet subtle. For example, she used different colors for foundation and cover up for me and my wife because I have yellow undertones and my wife has pink undertones.... I didn't even know that until then!!
