Katie was amazing! Not only did she do a fabulous job she was fun to be around. Katie came through for me and my girls after my original MUA canceled on me 3 days prior. As a bride that was beyond stressful but Katie reassured me she had my back and held true to that. I truly appreciated her giving up her Father’s Day morning to take care of us. Beings that Katie and I didn’t even get to trial she aced my bridal look. She even understood my vision without a photo because what I wanted I couldn’t put into words. I would recommend Katie to any bride who wants a phenomenal experience not only with their look but while their sitting in the chair getting ready for their big day! If you ask nicely she can hit some notes too ;-) -

She was incredible! She supported me through quite an ordeal with another makeup artist. Myself, my mom, and all my bridesmaids looked amazing on my wedding day. Her hair stylist was so sweet and as a team they worked so hard to keep us on schedule. My hair and makeup held up all day long in 90 degree heat and I have gotten so many compliments on how beautiful I look in photos. I felt so gorgeous on my wedding and day. Thank you doesn't cover it! Hire her and thank me later! -

Amazing Hair & Makeup!
Mary Katie did my makeup for my wedding as well as 5 of my bridesmaids and my mom. I booked her without a trial as I live out of state and she did not disappoint! She was super cool, down to earth and my bridesmaids and I all looked fantastic! I am a cryer and my makeup withstood all the happy tears throughout the day and even looked pretty good the morning after!
She had Kelly with her who did our hair and was just as amazing! We had a great time getting ready and all felt so beautiful! Would highly recommend!!! -

Kaylyn Sent on 10/01/2018Katie did a fabulous job on my hair and make up for our wedding back June 9, 2018. She was able to incorporate clip in extensions (that I provided) at no extra charge. I really wanted my hair off to the side, full but not poofy, curly, romantic, with a bit of bling, some up, some down and a braid or two. I couldn't of been more demanding...But it wasn't a problem and she nailed both hair and make up at the trial. I really dislike when make up artists do so much you don't recognize the bride. She made sure to ask me my normal make up habits to make sure she wouldn't over do it. Or I assumed thats whyyyy :) All the girls in the bridal party were happy (moms included). She left us some powder in case we started to get a little oily in the evening. She was a pleasure to talk with, to work with, and just be around. Thanks for being very calm Katie. You were a shoe in with my bridal party! We loved you!

Traci Sent on 06/07/2016Katie was wonderful to be around. She has a great personality that would fit with any bride and keeps spirits up so that the bride doesn't stress. She came to my hotel room with an assistant and did the bridal party's hair and makeup. By the time all was said and done we were an hour ahead of schedule but quality was not reduced. Everyone looked stunning! -

I really enjoyed working with Katie. She let me do a second trial when I wasn't sure that I wanted what I asked for after the first trial - she was so nice about it and was always helpful. She traveled to my venue with her girls and made the day easy and fun. Thank you, Katie! -

Katie and her partner did a BEAUTIFUL job on hair and makeup. I told her that I didn't really like the foundation used during my trial, and she switched it the day of the wedding. She also took the time to go back and review my trial pictures and decided that there were better lashes to use on my wedding day. I gave her full professional control and I am so happy I did! My hair and makeup were both beautiful!! -

We had our wedding this past April and from the moment Katie was recommended to us to our wedding day our experience was nothing short of perfect. My girls and myself typically wear a very natural look and Katie understood that and helped us look like ourselves with a pop of glam! She was so easy to work and communicate with. Katie worked with me at my trial to find the perfect touch of makeup and she truly delivered. I would highly recommend her as a very qualified and experienced addition to your special day! -

Amazing, fun and gained an awesome friend
Katie is absolutely amazing and her love for what she does shines through! I had called a few MUA’s but when I spoke with Katie, we just clicked immediately and ended up talking on the phone for about an hour n a 1/2 chit chatting, getting to know one another. I knew instantly she was the gal for the job! She is very personable and takes the time to get to know her client! I first met her in person when I went for my trial and it was so much fun! She kept in contact throughout the months til the wedding! Day of wedding she was prompt, even arriving a little early and was ready to roll. She did hair and makeup for myself as well as my matron of honor and maid of honor who are also my sister and niece! Everyone who was there during the “get ready” absolutely loved her! She was efficient and got us done within the time frame she gave us. She listened to what we wanted but also gave her expertise opinion based on hair texture, skin tone ect.. she did a PHENOMENAL job on all 3 of us and exceeded our expectations. I 💯 highly recommend her! You will not be disappointed. And through my whole experience I also gained a great and dear friend!! -

When I say Katie was absolute perfection, I truly mean it! I knew she was going to be my makeup artist about five minutes into our phone call when I mentioned that I wanted sparkles and bright colors for my makeup, and she said "oh I LOVE sparkles!" She was so excited to play around with color and shimmer, and I knew she would take excellent care of me.
Leading up to my wedding, I was very anxious and texted her a few times. She always got back to me ASAP with exactly the info I needed, and didn't make me feel like a crazy bride. She cleared up any confusion I had, and kept communication open. I really appreciated that!
The day of, Katie was a total delight! We got started at 9AM but she had pep in her step and kept our energy up (and our schedule moving forward). She was friendly, funny, refreshing, and just a lot of fun to be around. All of my bridesmaids were getting their makeup done alongside myself, so it was a long morning/afternoon and she made us all feel beautiful and energized!
As for the makeup: Literally could not have been more perfect and gorgeous!!! Every one of my bridesmaids had a different shade of chameleon glitter on their eyes and perfectly shaped false lashes. Their faces were glowing and shimmering, and their eyes were breathtaking. As was mine! I gasped/screamed when I saw my final look--I didn't think I could look so amazing, but Katie went above and beyond! She even had some extra glitter to put in my hair--I was a glitter princess, and so much of that was thanks to Katie! Oh and she also did a wonderful job with the groom, who got a little glitter half moon on his cheek to match mine.
I highly HIGHLY recommend Katie for her professionalism, positive attitude, open communication, and incredible talent! Seriously, you cannot go wrong with her, I can guarantee that. -

I had my makeup done by Katie along with my 4 bridesmaids… She did beautifully but after about 2 hours my face was super splotchy.. I had to run and get my make powder and brush to touch it up. Other then that I thought everything was great and all my girls looked gorgeous.. I can’t remember the hair stylist name who did our hair but WOW she did amazing and all our hair held up all night long! -

Abbey Sent on 05/06/2025Worst decision of my wedding RUDE and OVERCHARGED
I don't usually do this but I had to for this vendor. Mary K Engle seemed nice at the beginning but I soon realized I made a HUGE MISTAKE. She showed up unprepared, she miscounted how many people were in the party (even though the signed contract listed them all) so day of the wedding she rushed us, was extremely rude to my parents and friends and charged me for the party member to whom she did not count. She tried to tell me I was not being truthful and that I did not give her the right number. I sent screenshots of our contract and conversations until she finally owned up to it but would not give me the money back.
I would have let it go but the way she treated my family on my wedding day and the unprofessionalism about the payment. Don't make the same mistake I did. She is very expensive, unprofessional and honestly just not a nice person.Makeup by Mary K Engle's reply:
I'm sorry to hear you feel as though your entire experience was unpleasant. However, I did not overcharge you. I had sent you the individual rates at the beginning of the booking process. I showed you a breakdown of the day of service totals to show that you were not overcharged, dispite the miscommunication over the extra person receiving services. I only charged you for services rendered and nothing more.
I went out of my way to rearrange my schedule when you had a medical situation and could not make your original trial date. At the trial, which was 2 days before your wedding, we went over numbers, times and details. If anything was incorrect or had changed you could have told me at that time.
I am sorry to hear that your family and friends thought me to be rude. I had to set boundaries for safety reasons and they were not being followed. They all did tip myself and my hairstylist, so that is very surprising to hear that they felt that way.
I know that wedding days can be very stressful and a lot of things were not going as planned for you that day. I do hope you still had a beautiful day. I wish you all the best in your new marriage.
