The best wedding makeup artist and kindest person!
I’m so grateful I had Amy as my wedding makeup artist! From the very beginning, she was organized, responsive, and easy to communicate with. She is truly a professional who takes pride in her work, and it shows.
Amy did my makeup for both my rehearsal dinner and wedding day, and one thing I still think about nearly five months later is her incredibly calming presence. Wedding weekends can feel chaotic and overwhelming, but sitting in her chair felt like a moment of peace. She made me feel completely at ease and gave me space to relax and just enjoy the moment.
She really listened to what I wanted, and I felt so beautiful. My bridesmaids couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved their makeup, and I especially appreciated how natural and elegant she made my mom look. My mom typically does not wear much makeup, but throughout the entire day I could just tell how confident and beautiful she felt!
Amy also kept everyone on schedule the entire morning, which is no small task with a group, and handled everything seamlessly. I truly can’t recommend her enough. You won’t regret booking her!

The BEST of the Best!!
Amy is truly the best of the best when it comes to wedding makeup in the Wilmington area. She was so easy to work with from day one and is so talented. I did a trial with her which I highly recommend because it reassured me that I was in the best hands for my wedding day. She did such a fabulous job on myself and each of my six bridesmaids as well as the MOB and MOG. She exceeded my wildest dreams for my wedding makeup and made me feel so beautiful! Not to mention the makeup didn't budge the entire day! If you want to look your best and have an absolutely seamless wedding experience, Amy is the one to book.

A mastermind, beautiful work!
I live in Miami and got married in NC. I cannot believe an artist as eonderful, skilled, professional and DID I SAY SKILLED? Lives in Wilmington. Girls you need to book Amy. She does a FLAWLESS JOB and will make you and your wedding party look drop dead gorgeous for the wedding. She was able to create a different look for the wedding and for my rehearsal dinner. I only regret is I live in Miami because if I was closer I would use Amy's services every weekend. BOOK HER

Truly one of a kind
Amy is hands down the best makeup artist I’ve ever worked with. She made me and all of my girls, both young and seasoned, feel like the best versions of ourselves the day of my wedding. Amy’s energy is exactly what every bride needs on her wedding day, she is kind, calm, and organized in a way that helps the day run flawlessly no matter how big or small your group is. When I tell you my makeup lasted the entire day, I mean it held up beautifully in 90 degree heat and humidity, as well as in torrential rain fall as we were leaving the wedding! One of my favorite parts of working with Amy was her willingness to fit in my 90 year old grandmother, who had never had her makeup before and was fearful of too much glam, but instead Amy made her feel beautiful in her own skin - I can’t recommend this enough for those that are lucky enough to have grandmothers there to celebrate the day together. One more suggestion, professional makeup for rehearsal dinner! It is absolutely worth it, especially if you plan to have a photographer there to document the evening. I look forward to working with Amy for every big event or photography shoot our family does in the future, and can’t recommend her enough, again, there’s no one like her. ♥️

The most talented in the area!
Choosing to work with Amy was the best decision I ever made! I searched high and low when looking for someone to do my makeup for my wedding day. I have done my own makeup with my favorite/guaranteed products for many years, and am very particular about getting my makeup professionally done. I knew when I found Amy that she was exactly what I was looking for. She is truly so talented and she makes you feel like a bridal beauty. She was so professional, kind, easy to work with, and made me feel so calm and at ease the morning of my wedding. It’s true.. she set the tone for the entire day! At 8 am with all the chaos going on… Amy looked at me and said “take a deep breath… relax” and from that moment on the rest of the day I did exactly that. I was able to be in the moment and feel all the love knowing that I looked and felt my very best! I would highly recommend Amy to anyone in the Wilmington area looking for bridal, bridesmaid/family makeup. We all were so very happy with the results. Despite having a beach wedding and boat happy hour, the makeup lasted all day! We didn’t have to go to the bathroom once for a touch up and were able to be in the moment! If Im ever in the area and in need of a makeup artist, I will hands down not hesitate to work with Amy again.

Amy did the most amazing job on my bridesmaids and my makeup! She is extremely professional and THE subject matter expert on makeup!! All of my girls including myself were ready WAY ahead of schedule and we had the most seamless getting ready time I've ever experienced for any wedding I've ever been to. She was so flexible while working with my scheduled ahead of time for my trial because I was an out of town bride and I am SO grateful! All of my girls have different skin tones and it didn't matter, because Amy does it all! Everyone looked and felt absolutely beautiful! I wouldn't change my decision to book my makeup with Amy! So talented
I had my make-up done by Amy at a friends wedding several years ago and knew I had to book her for my own. She really listens to your vision and takes it away. I just got our photos back and am so pleased with how the natural look I wanted came out. My photographer knew who did my make up without me even saying which I thought spoke volumes to how talented Amy is. I also have very sensitive skin and the products she uses left my skin feeling better than before. No harsh chemicals here. I have worked with Amy since our engagement photos in 2019 — she has been outstanding every step of the way. Never have I seen a makeup artist do such an awesome job EVERY SINGLE TIME. The moms, girls, and I looked so amazing and natural! Her professionalism and timely work made a HUGE difference on wedding morning when we had lots of girls getting hair/makeup done and a strict timeline. Amy was absolutely UNBELIEVABLE. She is so incredibly talent, but also the sweetest person. She is a master at enhancing what you already have and making you look like YOU but even better for your big day. All of my bridesmaids had their makeup done as well and they all looked amazing. They could not stop raving about their makeup. My biggest pet peeve is when makeup artists cake you up and hide your freckles and Amy did an amazing job of making my girls' skin look incredible while still letting their freckles shine through. I cannot recommend her enough. She just gets it. Thank you so much Amy; you really put me at ease knowing my makeup was going to look flawless for the big day!

It is no wonder why Amy is ALWAYS booked and comes so highly recommended! I am so glad that we were able to hire Amy to be a part of our September wedding at Wrightsville Manor! She did an INCREDIBLE job with my makeup. It was even better than I imagined, I loved the way it looked in photos, and it lasted me ALL day long (even through many many happy tears). Amy also made all of my bridesmaids look so stunning and they were so happy with her work. She is also a total sweetheart, and made us all feel so relaxed in the bridal sweet all day long. All hail queen Amy! She is both an incredible professional and person, and we were so lucky to work with her. Amy is a true artist, and she pulls of any and every style of makeup you could want. After doing my trial during the holiday season, I knew I was in the very best hands for my wedding. She truly brings out your best features while making sure you still look like you, which was so important to me for my wedding day. Amy is such a fun and calming person, and she instantly helps you relax and enjoy the process. Amy was the best for makeup on my wedding day. I had the opportunity to work with her for my engagement pictures, bridal trial and wedding day. She is so easy to work with and very accommodating. My makeup for all occasions was flawless and stayed on all day/night. My bridesmaids couldn't stop talking about how amazing she was. I even had 2 bridesmaids who hate getting their makeup done and aren't big on makeup and Amy made sure that she did exactly what they wanted and they were so pleased and happy with her work. Amazing amazing work
Amy did amazing work with myself (bride) and with the bridal party and mothers. She made us all look very natural yet highlighting our features. Ive always been skeptical in someone doing my makeup but for some reason i did not with her due her pictures. I did not even do a trial and trusted her to just do my makeup day of wedding. I would love to find another excuse to allow her to do my makeup. Love her work!!!

From my engagement photo makeup to my wedding day makeup, Amy KILLED IT!! I love how natural but flawless she could make me look and feel! Her super sweet and kind personality made it easy to work with her! I made the mistake of letting my bridal party decide if they wanted makeup and a few of them who are from out of state chose not to. These same girls were begging Amy to do theirs on my wedding day! I would HIGHLY recommend any bride to book her and don’t make the same mistake I did but instead just book your entire bridal party! It was such a pleasure working with Amy for all of my make up sessions for my wedding festivities. It is amazing how perfect she is at makeup, you never thought you could look so beautiful until make up with Amy! Her professionalism, detail, and personality was so relaxing but also so much fun. Every session I had with her stayed exactly how it was when I left her until the end of the day. She did make up for my engagement shoot, bridal portrait, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day, as well as my bridal party wedding day. I can't wait to have my makeup done by her again. Amy did my makeup last weekend for my sister in laws wedding, and let me tell you she was amazing!! I’m very weird about people doing my makeup but she made me feel so beautiful as well as all the other bridesmaids and bride too. Not only is she amazing at what she does she is such a sweetheart!! She did a incredible job of making me, my family and bridesmaids all look gorgeous, while still looking like ourselves! I have never felt more beautiful and my make-up lasted all day, night, and the next morning too! One of my bridesmaids who is soon to be a bride, took pictures and wants it replicated on her wedding day, she loved it that much!! I was so thankful to have Amy as a part of my wedding day and I promise she will be one of the best decisions for your wedding that you make!

She did an excellent job. My makeup and eyelashes lasted all night. I have extremely oily skin and my wedding was outside in july. My makeup withstood all evening with very little shine. I booked Amy for my wedding day last month. She was at the venue early and was already set up and ready to go when I got there. She responded to all my emails within hours. Our makeup was flawless and I got more compliments on it than I got on my dress. She was so calm and methodical it felt like she was one of the girls. I cannot praise her work enough, she is truly an artist. Her price was reasonable and she was able to work with a variety of different skin tones and individual preferences. If she is available BOOK HER!!! You wont regret it.

In other words I didn't want to look like I was wearing a ton a makeup. I used Amy for my bridal portrait and wedding day and I could not have been more pleased with the results both times. I chose her because of her stellar reviews (both Wedding Wire and from my other vendors), looking through her portfolio, and experience with sensitive skin. Amy was so friendly and professional and made me feel at ease despite the rough start I had my the morning of my wedding. I was glowing in all of my pictures, despite only getting 3 hours of sleep the night before and waking up that morning looking like a zombie. No one knew, except my mother and bridesmaids!! She even convinced my mother, who wears very little make up to go with the fake lashes. My mother was so pleased with her more natural look. Thank you Amy! I NEVER like it when other people do my makeup. I have had famous makeup artists do my makeup - I hated it. I've had tv people do my makeup - I hated it. I did numerous makeup trials in Wilmington and they were ok, but I either rushed home to do my makeup or had my sister fix it by the time I got home.
After doing my makeup trial with Amy, I immediately booked her for my wedding a year in advance. She wasn't pushy with a deposit or signing a contract. She didn't even need to coordinate with my wedding planner - I loved that she communicated with me directly.
Amy was so sweet and has such a calming personality. She even gave my little sister, who wants to be a makeup artist, some tips and tricks of the trade. I needed Amy to do 11 full-faces of makeup for my wedding and false eyelashes and she wasn't even breaking a sweat by the end of it. We started on time at 8:30 (she was there early) and finished in plenty of time to take pictures. Everyone's makeup was spectacular and she listened to what each person wanted and brought everything to vision. Almost every single bridesmaid asked me for Amy's email after my wedding so they could ask her about what products she used on them.
Amy's makeup application was so on point that I actually slept with my makeup on and it looked FLAWLESS the next day!
I feel like wedding makeup has a certain look and I didn't want that when I got married. I just wanted to look like a better version of myself. Amy did that for me, and for that reason I CANNOT recommend her enough! If you are getting married soon - book her immediately and thank me later!

She took care of my makeup for the night before for my bridal luncheon and for the rehearsal dinner that night and my makeup was flawless and natural looking all day and night. Before the "big day" Amy and I had a one on one session at her residence where she was able to summon her creative magic and tailor contouring and colors to really enhance my natural features like the color of my eyes, hair, and skin tone. This one on one session really helped prepare both of us for my wedding day. When the day finally arrived, I wasn't worried about how I would look because I had my full trust in Amy. I would totally recommend Amy to future brides because she is extremely responsive to emails, text, phones calls etc. and is willing to work with your schedule. She is a professional and seeks to form a personal connection with you the client to receive the full benefits of her services.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Amy! Before I was even engaged, I knew that I had to have her as my MUA for my big day. When I finally got engaged, the VERY FIRST thing I did in the planning process was reach out to her and see which dates she was available in July :) Amy of course got back to me right away with her availability and also referred me to the super talented Jamie Warzel for hair.
Not only is she an insanely talented MUA, she is truly one of the kindest and most genuine people you will ever meet. She cares about her clients and is a true artist! Amy enhances your natural beauty and will transform you into the best/most beautiful version of yourself! In addition to my makeup, Amy also took care of all of my bridesmaids. To this day, we all still talk about how much we love her and loved our makeup!! All of us agree that we never felt more beautiful and I make certain to recommend her to every bride I meet (or anyone preparing for another special event). Our makeup was stunning and I can never thank her enough! In addition to making sure you book Amy as your MUA right away, I also have another piece of advice...listen to her! :) She is the professional and trust me, she knows what she's doing. I booked Amy Kennison and Jamie Warzel for hair and makeup services for my bridal portrait and wedding day for my entire wedding party. They did an amazing job! They were very professional and accommodating. I have never felt more beautiful in my life! I had never had my makeup professionally done before, and I don't wear makeup on a daily basis, so I really appreciated how Amy asked what I normally do, so I wouldn't look like a completely different person to my fiance on our wedding day. Jamie was so sweet and everyone's hair looks absolutely beautiful! Both their services are also a great value. I would recommend Amy and Jamie to anyone wanting to look their best at any special event!

I want to thank Amy from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like a bride! I did a trial run and went very natural which is what I was used to wearing. Amy really listened and gave great suggestions for colors and what would work best for me. On the day of the wedding we went a little bit darker and I absolutely loved the look. Amy is hands down a talented professional and I would recommend her to anyone! I had seven bridesmaids, my mother and mother in law all use her services the day of the wedding. I couldn't have asked for a more amazing makeup artist. Amy Kennison is hands down, The Best! She, as a person, is such a joy to be around & work with. She really connects with you to make sure you are relaxed and feel nothing short of a princess on your big day! She listens to what you like/want, makes recommendations when appropriate, & always makes sure that you still look like you in the end (which to me was super important). My mother and bridal party couldn't stop talking about how great Amy was and how gorgeous they felt all night long. She only uses the top brands in beauty and takes great pride in her work and in her cleanliness and professionalism. We are hiring Amy again for a makeup lesson party! I highly recommend her for any event, any age, anytime :)

Where do I begin? Thank you so much for being there for me on my wedding day. You are truly an incredible artist and individual. Not only did you make me feel the most gorgeous I have ever felt, you have a very calming presence. Everyone in the bridal party bridal party was happy about their make up and kept talking of how you worked wonders. Amy is AMAZING! I first met her a few years ago. I knew she did wonderful makeup so I was very excited when she was the makeup artist for my friends wedding I was in a couple years ago. I sat down and had no suggestions on what I would like but she worked her magic and everyone commented on how great I looked. I booked her a little later for my makeup for my engagement photos and of course she did a wonderful job.
A few days before my wedding she contacted me to go over my schedule for hair and makeup for the morning and then the night before she emailed me to just say hey and remind me what time she would be there. Very professional! She did makeup for my whole bridal party and everyone loved it and her. Anytime someone asks me about a makeup artist my response is Amy Kennison!

I was online looking for someone in the Wilmington area that does wedding makeup and I stumbled on Amy's website and I was immediately sold! I contacted her right away to schedule an appointment and she was quick to respond and set something up. She was always so nice, sweet and professional. I ended up knowing a few other girls who used her as well and raved about her. As soon as I saw all of her pictures though I could see the amazing work she creates and how she brings out women's natural beauty and just enhances it. It truly is a gift! I felt so pretty on my wedding day thanks to Amy. Her set up is very pretty and she makes you feel very comfortable too during the whole process. I didn't even have to tell her much of what I wanted because I trusted and knew whatever she did it would turn out beautifully. I would definitely recommend any bride or anyone that is wanting there makeup done for a special event to Amy, she is seriously amazing!

I felt so honored to have Amy do my wedding makeup! It was one of the things I looked forward to the most because I knew it would be just awesome based on every picture and word of mouth I had encountered. She has a talent for adapting to each person and making them look their best that I can't imagine is easy to do. I cannot say enough praise to Amy and her talent! She by far transformed not only myself but every person in the wedding party from normal to a super model. She was professional, polite, and makes you feel like a beauty queen. I got married in November of 2014 and just recently I got access to the video footage during the morning of the wedding, I am still in awe of watching her do my makeup and how flawless it looks! I hired Amy for my wedding. I requested her for myself, my bridesmaids and my mom and MIL. From the first email contact to scheduling she responded fast and was easy to work with throughout. From my initial emails with Amy to the make-up trial and finally the wedding day make-up for myself and my mother and bridesmaids, Amy was excellent! She is very professional, so kind, and above all else - really good at what she does! I had Amy do my make-up for the rehearsal dinner and wedding and got so many compliments both nights on how great my make-up looked. Amy is extremely talented at what she does. She is also efficient and professional. I was so happy with my makeup and truly felt beautiful on the day of my wedding. Amy was awesome and also did the makeup for 6 bridesmaids, 3 mothers, and grandmother (and we didn't have to start getting ready at the crack of dawn!). The photos turned out beautifully and no one had to worry about their makeup despite the September heat. Amy is, without a doubt, the best makeup artist I've ever worked with. She was able to do my makeup, my entire bridal party of 8, and the 3 mothers. All of us looked simply stunning when she was done with us. Everyone commented how much they loved their makeup, and how sweet Amy was. A few members of the group who do not usually wear makeup were concerned that it might feel heavy or caked on. However, everyone was pleasantly surprised that the makeup Amy used was light and comfortable. Amy was super easy to work with and was a calming presence on the day of the wedding. There is a reason she is booked so far in advance: she is the best in town! I would definitely recommend Amy to everyone!
