I’d give Donna 100 stars if I could!
Donna and her team are simply the best—hands down. My daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, and I were beautifully enhanced with the most gorgeous hair and makeup. We received so many compliments that I was afraid the bride would be upset! lol

If you’re fortunate enough to find space in her calendar, snatch it up. Her schedule is usually booked with show-biz clients worldwide, but she loves doing weddings, so whenever she’s home in RI, she’ll book a few. We felt incredibly lucky she was available, and she treated us like family from our very first conversation. I can’t recommend her highly enough. I’d give her 100 stars if I could.

Donna and Ratina were an absolute dream team for my wedding day. From the moment they arrived—on time and completely prepared—they brought such professionalism, warmth, and calm energy to the room. They made everyone feel so comfortable and confident, from my bridesmaids to our sweet flower girl.
Their work was truly stunning. Everyone looked and felt beautiful, and I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. My makeup and hair lasted all night, and I still felt like me—just the most radiant version possible!
What really touched me was the care they showed even after we left for the ceremony. They took the time to clean up our wedding suite so I wouldn’t come back to a mess at the end of the night. That kind of thoughtfulness says so much about who they are, both as artists and as people.
I would recommend Makeup Artistry to absolutely anyone looking for talented, kind, and professional hair and makeup artists. They helped make my wedding morning stress-free and unforgettable! -

Makeover Artistry is all you’ll ever need!
I hunted for months to find somebody who could help me and my bridal party feel gorgeous, but I had absolutely no idea where to begin. After a few other makeup artists just missed the mark with us, we finally found Donna and Ratina. When I tell you everything from the initial text message to our big day was perfect, I mean it. She answered every question, responded to every message quickly, and made all of us feel so incredibly beautiful. She is a no pressure, purely professional expert in her craft, and Tina is the wizard behind the braids. Donna is also my new hairdresser, and I couldn’t be happier! -

Most beautiful day!
I was a very last-minute bride and I hadn’t really thought about Makeup. I did my research. I Read her reviews and thought there is no way I will get this woman for August 3 of 2024! I called Donna and her team last minute And not only did she fit us in but she made my entire day. She listened to every one of my ideas. I didn’t want to look overdone and she is just pure magic. Aside from the fact that they are obviously incredibly professional and amazing at what they do, Donna made sure every detail was perfect. She even touched up my 83-year-old father-in-law’s eyebrows much to all of our Surprise and laughter. Donna you honestly made my day! ❤️❤️ I’m even going to go back to her for makeup lessons. -

Donna did my hair and makeup for my wedding on February 24th 2024 and she did an amazing job! I was worried about my hair coming loose while dancing or my makeup smudging but she took care of all of that! I was carefree the whole day! I wanted natural makeup and she did exactly that, she covered up my red spots and made me look glowy which was exactly what I wanted! I got so many compliments on my hair! I truly felt like a fairy princess, not to mention how sweet and fun Donna is to talk to! I would recommend her to anyone I meet!

The team listened to the wants and needs of each member of the party resulting in perfect hair and make up. At last minute there were two additional women who needed their services which they accommodated. Everyone had different skin tones and hair types but all were beautifully and professionally handled. A little about me. Donna has been doing my hair and highlights for years. She loves long hair. But I don’t wear makeup. Being the mother of bride and I needed make up that would hold up to tears of joy and the long day of hugs and kisses from family. I had so many compliments on how gorgeous I looked. Thank you so much Donna! My daughter Bella the beautiful bride had been so stressed her face broke out. But Donna made her look flawless. So natural. It was my beautiful daughter. She looked like a magazine cover. But it didn’t look like she had any makeup on. Just a natural beauty. Oh and definitely do a bridal trial!! She recommended highlights and a hair cut. It was all crooked and had a chunk of hair missing in the back. Donna fixed her hair. It just all came together. Just Trust Donna!! She is a professional! Oh and one more thing… Trust Donna!

Coming from someone who has not always been confident in my look, Donna was able to deliver exactly what I wanted while also making feel the most beautiful I have ever felt! While maintaining and actually improving the health of my skin, delivered a natural make up look while enhancing all my features. Donna is a firecracker and there is never a dull moment with her. She will make you feel like you have known her your whole life and always have your best interest at heart. She has an amazing team behind her as well to help her out on the big day. Our hair dresser Tina was nothing short of amazing. While she works fast, she was able to recreate all my bridesmaids’ hair inspirations and put her own personal twist on it. Donna and her stylists who were on site at my wedding (Marianne for hair and Alana for makeup) were absolutely fantastic from the trial through the wedding! They are clearly experts - I was struggling to figure out how the timing of everything should work, but I didn't need to worry, they had everything under control - they were even able to add the flower girls at the last minute. My hair turned out far and away beyond my wildest dreams, even after all of the time I spent on Instagram and Pinterest looking at different styles - she got exactly what I wanted and made it even better - and seemed just as excited about it as I was! Makeup was also fantastic, I especially loved my eyes. I would absolutely recommend Makeover Artistry for your wedding or other special event! -

Donna is outstanding!
As the mother of the bride, I am eternally grateful Donna Sousa was available for my daughter’s wedding. This is the first wedding for my family and as my only daughter, I wanted this part to be very special and memorable for her. After scrolling through many bridal stylist sites and leaving messages and actually making an appointment for a trial, something made me scroll through the Wedding Wire and Knot sites again. Donna’s website popped up for the first time and after seeing all her work experiences, accolades, and excellent reviews, I called Donna with every fingers crossed. What a relief when she told me not only is she available, but she will be providing the service!! From the first phone call to the day of the wedding, Donna was very professional, calm, communicative, down to earth, open to ideas, accommodating, and very supportive, and understanding. It was one aspect of the wedding my daughter and I didn’t worry about at all. When we went for our make up and hair trials, my daughter and I had such a fun time. Donna knew the shades of make up to use based on our skin tones and even used the airbrush which is new to us. Tina created a masterpiece with our hair blending styles from pictures and respecting our expectations. With my thinning hair, Tina added hair extensions which was a surprise and created such an amazing and intricate hairstyle that I have never seen and imagine having for the wedding. My trial make up even stayed on beyond 24 hrs as Donna bragged which was so true because I didn’t reapply when my husband and I went to our anniversary dinner the next day. After our trial experiences, my daughter and I knew we were very lucky to have Donna and Tina as our bridal hair and make up artists!
Besides being our professional artist, Donna was a life saver when I needed to find a seamstress for my mom’s and my dress (which needed a lot of adjustments). Everyone I called was all booked and I was in complete panic! She connected me with one which she had highly recommended and miraculously was available. Is there anything Donna can’t do??? Nope!!
The morning of the wedding, Donna and Tina worked very well together and were completely organized getting 10 ladies ready for the big day. The bridesmaids were happy that they didn’t have to do their own make up and hair since they don’t normally wear a lot of make up and style their hair mostly in pony tails (as pharmacists). My mom and mother in law felt so special as well like they were the “queens of the ball”! When everyone was done and we were all dressed, we all looked so radiant and gorgeous! My daughter had a huge smile on her face and was so elated which is all I ever wished for on her wedding day. She was the most beautiful bride in the whole world! We received many compliments from the guests…even the word “hot” was used! Donna and Tina are 2 precious people that will make every bride’s dream come true…to feel and look like a princess bride on her special day! -

Donna is THE BEST!!!!
Donna has done my makeup throughout my whole wedding process. The engagement session, all the trials, etc. she was always so sweet and always on time! She is very communicative and flexible. She and her crew had 11 girls to do the day of my wedding and they came at the time they said they would be there and were done in the time they said they would be. She and her crew made everyone look and feel absolutely beautiful. We received so many compliments and the makeup and hair lasted throughout the night into the next day. Donna recently did my hair/makeup for a wedding I was attending as a guest and she did such an amazing job. Great experience
Had a great experience with Donna and Tina. My airbrush makeup held up all night through the endless dancing! My curled hair held up well through my indoor ceremony, but once we stepped foot in Newport humidity my curls mostly came out. That's the risk of wearing an all down style in RI humidity! No fault to the stylist, that's just how my hair works and I knew that going into it. It still looked great in most of my pictures! Both the mothers and my bridesmaids loved their makeup and hair as well! -

Gorgeous work and professionalism at its finest
Donna is an incredible artist who is easy to talk to, a great listener, and willing to take feedback about your wedding makeup wants and needs. Since I don't wear makeup everyday, Donna worked with me to plan an additional bridal trial to modify the makeup she had done from the first round, so I had a better understanding of the process and what colors/looks were the best for my skin and dress. After recommending a hydrating skin facial, I followed her advice and my makeup went on even better the day of the wedding! She is the epitome of professionalism and skill. As for hair, I worked with Ratina, an incredible hair stylist. After a few Pintrest photos, she was able to make my wedding hair vision even better than I expected! If she recommends hair extensions (she'll put them in for you and dye them to your hair color), DO IT! You keep them afterwards, but my thin hair could not hold a curl and the extensions were critical for holding the curl and making the look complete. I cannot thank Donna and Ratina enough for making me feel comfortable and beautiful on my wedding day! Their work ethic and attention to detail is second to none; you will not be disappointed. -

Donna and Ratina (hair) were INCREDIBLE for my sister's wedding in Newport. The day was gloomy and they were so upbeat and happy to be part of the occasion. It was an Indian wedding and Donna has about 8 people to do. They came on time and stayed after for touch ups. The airbrush was beautiful, it lasted very long. Donna took her time to put on eyelashes, match our skin tones to the makeup and make sure we felt truly beautiful. They worked extremely hard, have great communication and made the whole experience perfect for everyone involved. They were able to stay and schedule as well which was a huge plus. I recommend them for anyone who is planning a wedding!! I got several compliments on my maid of honor hair and makeup which photographed beautifully.

Amazing experience!
Donna is really wonderful at what she does!! She did makeup for myself and my bridal party for my wedding on 10/08/2022 and everyone was so happy with how they looked all night. All I can say is WOW! My future daughter-in-law found Donna to do her bridal parties' makeup, as well as her mom and myself. I'll be honest, I was a little hesitant, as I do not spend a lot of time on doing my makeup myself, and I was worried that I would look 'fake' having professional makeup done. I couldn't have been more wrong! Not only did the girls in the party look amazing, but Donna gave me the "Hollywood Glam" look I was going for (it was a black-tie wedding) while making me feel so natural with it. She really transformed me in a beautiful way. The whole experience was wonderful too. Nice music and gentle conversation to relax you. I highly, highly recommend Donna - she is a real pro! -

I have worked with Donna twice now. Once for my stepdaughter's wedding five years ago where Donna worked with my mom and I, and then again last weekend for my son's wedding where Donna did the makeup for the entire bridal party. There is no one more talented than Donna. Her ability to transform you, and make you look like an amazing version of yourself is unparalleled. I didn't get to do a trial because of covid and she did my makeup perfectly on the day of the wedding. The airbrush and eyelashes made my look, and our pictures look amazing. And I got a lot of complements overall. I would highly recommend Donna if you want someone professional, experienced, and personable to make you feel comfortable for your wedding. We were in a tough situation a few weeks ago when we had to postpone our large wedding ceremony and plan for a smaller ceremony instead. However, even with short notice from a panicked bride-to-be, Donna and her team of extremely talented make up artists and hair specialists stepped in to save the day! Donna arranged everything to make the process of preparing on the day of the wedding so easy and worry-free for me and my bridesmaids. Maryanne, the makeup artist, and Tina, the hair specialist, came to us so we would not have to travel on the day of the wedding and were both so fun to work with! Maryanne and Tina did an outstanding job on our makeup and hair and made us all look so beautiful! I cannot rave enough about the experience we had with Donna, Maryanne and Tina! Great Wedding Hair and Makeup!
Donna and Odessa did an amazing job! I met with them for a trial a few weeks before the wedding and they were very receptive to my preferences and requests for different tweaks and took lots of photos so we would have a reference for the actual day. On the wedding day, it was like meeting back up with old friends - Donna quickly and perfectly executed the makeup for me, me wedding party, and some of my family members, despite the challenges of some of us being 'newbies' to getting our makeup done. Odessa did a fantastic job listening to what each person wanted and creating some amazing vintage looks for me and my bridal party. I loved that she would keep working on it until it was exactly what you wanted. Communication and payment was easy and I felt the prices were reasonable for the great quality of work. One really important thing for me was that after a tough family interaction I started crying a lot before the ceremony and I thought for sure all of my makeup would be ruined but everything was still perfect - I only had to reapply lipstick. The fact that we all still looked good at the end of the night was also a nice surprise I didn't expect. We don't have our pro photos yet so these are just from my and my bridal parties camera. -

After a disappointing first trial elsewhere, I found Donna and she was able to see me right away. Thank goodness, because she really listened to what I was looking for and made me look absolutely beautiful. I could tell she was extremely knowledgeable and experienced in this field.
