There is so much to worry about with wedding planning, but booking Majestic DJ Service will be one of your easiest decisions you will make. They kept the dance floor packed and were so professional. You will never regret using Carl and Angela. We used them for our children's weddings and have been to several other parties where they were used and they really are the best. -

My wife and I were blown away by the quality of service we got from Majestic DJ Service. Carl and Angela did an incredible job. We used Majestic for both our ceremony and reception, there were many occasions where we needed songs to start and stop at certain times and it was no problem at all. Every single one of our wishes were met and executed perfectly.
During our reception they were able to keep the party going all night long. There were many occasions where they were able to get people who hate dancing to jump out there and have fun. They helped make so many lasting memories for our family's. I honestly cannot thank them enough. I will be telling everyone I know about Majestic! THANK YOU CARL AND ANGELA!!! -

We had a long list of specific things that we wanted to do/play during the wedding. To say this dj service executed everything perfectly is a gross understatement. When we decided to plan the wedding, Carl and Ang (DJ Majestic) were my first call. If they were not available we were literally changing our wedding date so we could get them. Absolutely the best. They listen to you and do it all in fantastic fashion. Thank you SO much! Our wedding was amazing BECAUSE of you!

10/10 Best DJ Ever!
BEST DJ EVER!! We are so thrilled that we got to work with Carl and his wife, they were simply amazing!
From our first chat in 2020 until our wedding this year, Carl was incredibly organized and asked all the questions I forgot to! All of our guests loved the music and he did a fabulous job of getting everyone out on the dance floor! He has a great ability to read the crowd and knew exactly what music to play to make people dance all night. We even had the crowd yelling “encore” to which Carl responded with one more song and he let my crazy husband sing karaoke! He made our ceremony and reception run so smoothly, even with the last minute changes I made. We seriously cannot recommend Carl enough! -

Carl is fantastic. He was great to work with - professional, friendly, articulate, organized, reasonably priced. He really understood the vibe we wanted for our wedding reception. The music choices were spot on, and it was so fun letting our guests request songs. My new husband & I aren't usually out on the dance floor, but we were that night! There is so much value in hiring the right person as your reception DJ, and I recommend Carl at Majestic DJ. -

Carl was probably one of the only vendors at our wedding that I was not freaking out about! He made sure that we scheduled a face-to-face meeting a week or two prior to the big day to go over EVERYTHING. I'm talking pronunciation of names (for the bridal party entrance), the moment in our first dance song that I requested others join in, an announcement I requested he make prior to the ceremony... everything! He gave us a call a few days prior just to check in and go over everything again quickly. His professionalism was so appreciated and he obviously really enjoys what he does! He seemed so happy to be there and we really enjoyed working with him. I absolutely would suggest Majestic DJ if you want the entertainment experience to be stress free! -

From the moment we met Carl we knew he was a true professional. He kept our guests on the dance floor all night with his great music selections. He gave us a sheet before the wedding to fill out so we knew what to expect throughout the night. He's very organized and was very easy to keep in touch with. Carl was also a lot of fun throughout the night and kept the crowd going. He made sure our wedding reception was a success! -

Majestic DJ , Carl was great! We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ. He did a great job with music options and we had so many compliments from our guests at how fun our reception was. Carl had gotten together with us a few times and reviewed everything a few days before the wedding and was great with any changes we had made. We recommend majestic dj for any occasion. -

I highly recommend Majestic DJ!! Both Carl and Angela were fantastic to work with. From the minute we met them at a bridal show we instantly connected and I knew they were the ones I wanted. They are very down to earth people and easy to get along with. They helped make our day easy for us and everything run smooth. It was a very hot day for our wedding but they had people out on the dance floor all night. You won’t be disappointed with them for your DJ!! -

Carl and his wife were amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure my wedding was special. They worked with me to pick out the perfect songs for my special day & even was accommodating with my custom mix for the father daughter dance. They were so professional and played the best music. The crowd didn’t get off the dance floor all night! I can’t rave about them enough. They are two of the nicest people that provide the best DJ service in the utica area. Use them for your special event and you will not be disappointed!! They even captured some priceless moments during the reception. From the first song to the last they were truly amazing and I’m so thankful I was able to have them for my special day! Very affordable too and they offer additional services. Contact them for your wedding needs we sure were glad we did! -

He ended our wedding 15 minutes earlier than we had agreed to. He was booked until 10 and ended our wedding at 9:45. He called the last song at 9:42. He also didn’t introduce us as husband and wife. I have videos with time stamps to prove all of the above. He announced mother and father of the bride and groom and the rest of the wedding party and then he announced us by our first names which was pretty lackluster in comparison.
I see that he’s got lots of great reviews so it feels like he just really didn’t like us for some reason. Having a bad day could explain forgetting to introduce us as husband and wife but ending the wedding early was a clear choice that he made because he apparently decided that he was done 15 minutes early. We didn’t even get a prorated refund for that.
There was also a misunderstanding when I asked him not to play too many slow songs. He took this to mean no slow songs. TECHNICALLY 0 slow songs is not too many but I wished he had asked what I meant if he was confused. I didn’t realize until the end that no slow songs had played. We would have liked 2 or 3. I guess this is partially my fault for not being clearer.
He did a nice job on the ceremony, but we (as well as our guests) were underwhelmed with him at the reception. Luckily we made a great night out of it anyways but it is still a bummer that it could have been even better if our DJ stayed the whole time, seemed like he wanted to be there, and announced us as husband and wife.

*************************************************************I need to add that his response to my review, while polite, felt extremely dismissive. I know that he may not remember what happened over a year ago, but that doesn’t mean that it didn’t happen. Also, just because we didn’t feel like confronting him (and possible arguing with him) at our wedding doesn’t mean that he didn’t end our wedding early. I DO have a time stamp of our last song being played at 9:42. I started recording after the song had been playing for a little while. The last song we chose on our form was sweet Caroline and the Video I recorded of that song started at 9:42. I knew in the moment that he was ending the wedding early and I did very loudly say to my husband right in front of the DJ booth just a couple feet away “The last song? Didn’t we hire him to play until 10.” That was all the energy I had in me that night. I shouldn’t have to get in an argument with my DJ on our wedding night and beg him to play for the extra 15 minutes that we hired him for. I didn’t want to end the night in a fight and I’m very non-confrontational because of my anxiety. This review is the closest to confrontation that I will get and it still stresses me out. Im not going to fight my DJ face to face on my wedding night and put a damper on that day.
YES I waited over a year to review, but life gets busy and the thought of leaving this review stressed me out. I wanted to stay away from wedding stress for a while after the wedding. I thought about this experience again because our anniversary came up and wedding wire has been telling me to leave reviews. I just want other people to know what happened and I want Carl to know so he doesn’t do this to another couple. I think he just didn’t like us for whatever reason, but wanted to warn people just in case. Is it because we don’t like country music or that we had non-traditional practices like not taking my husbands last name? I don’t know what we did to make him want to end our wedding early. We were professional and polite to him throughout the whole process. We also paid for his plate so that he could eat dinner and dessert and have drinks. We wanted to make sure he didn’t go hungry.
ALSO, just because I didn’t take my husband’s last name it doesn’t mean that we’re not married. It’s 2023 and whatever outdated beliefs people may share shouldn’t leak out into their work. Married women don’t take their husbands’ names as often as they used to, but it doesn’t mean that they aren’t married and can’t be announced as such. He announced “father of the groom, Malcolm lusby” and each member of our wedding party in the same manner - with a title. When our entrance came around he said “majestic DJ and the staff at club monarch proudly presents Kristen murphy and Aaron lusby” with no title or anything. It was like we were just random people aside from being dressed the way that we were. There was no “now for the first time as husband and wife, Kristen and aaron” (or any variation). He could have even said the exact same thing that he “proudly presents Kristen and aaron” and just added “as husband and wife” at the end. Me not taking his last name doesn’t mean we’re not married. There are other ways to announce a newly married couple other than “Mr. and Mrs. xxxxxx.” We were not properly announced as a married couple, so our entrance was lackluster. Then our intro song played at a whisper volume very briefly before quickly switching into our first dance song.
We would have NEVER asked to end our wedding early and I loudly mentioned it right in front of the DJ booth as it was happening (hoping that he would hear me because I was too nervous to confront him directly). We were having fun with family and didn’t want it to end and we talked for months about how we wished the DJ played the entire time and how we wished the wedding itself lasted for longer.
Trust me when I say that I wouldn’t have willingly forfeited ANY of our time when we paid so much. Also, yes I know that his prices are reasonable BUT even cheaper weddings are still expensive and even cheaper DJs are still expensive. Prices have gone up a lot for weddings in general in the last few years and we ABSOLUTELY wanted to get our money’s worth but we did not want to fight the DJ on our wedding day. Also, yes we appreciated the microphones for the guitar performances and ceremony, but it doesn’t change the fact that he ended our wedding at 9:45 when we signed a contract to have him there until 10. He even talked over 27 seconds of the last song. We both would have loved to dance for 15 minutes longer with our loved ones on our wedding day, but we’ll never get that day back. It is what it is. It was still a magical night with loved ones and no one can take that away from us. It’s just knowing that it could have been even better and we could have enjoyed our loves ones for longer on this day that will only come once in a lifetime- that’s what hurts me the most more than anything.
He said that he would not have ended our wedding early without our permission. He doesn’t THINK that he would but he definitely did and we have proof. We would have never told him to end it early and we were upset on that day and for months (and even still now) that it got cut 15 minutes short. Was his wrist watch running fast? I promise with ever fiber of my being that the bride and groom did not tell him to end the wedding early. We will not be gaslit into believing that he ended the wedding at 10 when we have proof that it ended at 9:45. Again, that was an extra 15 minutes that we could have spent with loved ones on the one and only day that we can not do over.
I see all of these amazing reviews for majestic DJ and wish that he treated us the same way that he treated them.
