Main Street Ballroom was without a doubt the best wedding venue! From the minute my husband and I toured it, we immediately knew we had to get married there. It had the amazing industrial vibe we were looking for and the ability to bring our own catering helped bring down wedding costs so much! The included decor and the all day venue rental as well really helped make this venue standout. The venue is so pretty that you do not need a lot of decorations, it speaks for itself. Along with that, the staff is incredible! They were just as excited as we were on our big day and were there to help if we needed anything! HIGHLY recommend Main Street ballroom -

It was an amazing experience having our wedding at the Main Street Ballroom. We went for a sort've modern take on vintage theme and the interior fit what we looked for perfectly. We also loved that our caterer brought in their truck utilizing the parking spaces in the front, which really made the outdoor patio feel more private and connected to the party inside.
Considering that all vendors are booked independently of the venue, it made DIYing our wedding easier. Scheduling walkthroughs and mapping out the venue floor plan with Rachel was a breeze and Gemma was quite responsive via email to answer any questions you had. Booking our date was especially easy given that we requested a weekday at their hourly rate. On the day of, Tyler was the acting venue manager and was also great and easy to work with. If we had to do it all over again, we would still choose MSB. Thank you for making our day the best day of our lives! -

The moment my now-husband and I stepped foot into Main St. Ballroom we knew this was our dream venue. Besides getting so much venue time (from 8am-12:00am), it is absolutely gorgeous. I knew we wouldn't need much decor because its so naturally beautiful. The staff at Main St. could not have been more professional or helpful. We spoke so highly of Main St. that a friend of ours booked his wedding there already. Thank you Main St. Ballroom for being the PERFECT venue and making our wedding such a dream! -

With having a 1920's theme, we knew instantly when we stepped into Main Street Ballroom that this was the place for our wedding! Historic building with stone walls and a speak easy feel! The entire process for renting the space was smooth and the staff were always quick to respond and constantly made us feel heard. The staff were always so friendly and were also such a great help to make sure that everything for the event was a success! I will now forever hold a special place in my heart for Main Street Ballroom. -

Recently had our wedding at Main Street Ballroom and we could not say more positive things! The venue is very beautiful and intimate, the staff (Rachel, Gemma, others) were excellent and very helpful getting our day organized, and they provided many tables/chairs to accommodate for everything. The venue rental price is well within budget and they give a whole day time window for your event. Parking is a little difficult at times but being in Old Ellicott City that's expected and was not a problem for us. They provide a lot in terms of furniture and vendor recommendations and made our planning very easy and worth it. Main Street Ballroom was amazing and made our day very special! -

So glad we chose Main Street Ballroom for our wedding venue! Not sure what was the best part- the 16 hour rental or the fact that they allow you to bring your own caterer compared to other venues who have their preferred caterers. Everyone at MSB is very friendly, especially Morakot who I wish I could personally meet because I had a huge issue last minute and she was very kind, compassionate and understanding. She even called me to offer help rather than going back and forth via email.
The venue comfortably housed all 150 of our guests. Our guests loved the venue for its character and its location. We had our wedding on a Sunday and I was nervous about the parking lot situation- but it was not an issue with guests finding the other parking lots to park at.
Thank you MSB for allowing us to host our wedding at your wonderful venue!

Main Street Ballroom is an amazing place to host a wedding! We chose Main Street Ballroom for our wedding venue due to the flexibility of its catering requirements and gorgeous interiors, and we absolutely made the right call. The staff were flexible and communicative throughout the planning process. Because MSB is already so beautiful, we ended up saving a ton of money on décor. We also saved money by providing our own alcohol and caterer, rather than going through a venue approved caterer as many venues require. Everyone at our wedding remarked on the gorgeous setting and we loved getting ready in the bride’s and groom’s rooms! If you want to take first look photos, we recommend going to the Patapsco Female Institute, which is just around the corner. -

This was the perfect venue for us. It was rustic and I fell in love with the fairy lights on our first visit. The flexibility for arrival and breakdown was a great perk. They were so helpful and responsive the entire time. -

I photographed a stunning wedding here recently and *WOW* I was impressed. The venue was absolutely jaw-dropping, especially with their huge industrial windows! Main St. Ballroom is definitely unique compared to other local venues, so if you're looking for that "edge" in your wedding, book here. Plus, the city surrounding the venue is very charming- fun for your guests! I've attached some interior photos I felt showed off the space well! I 100% will continue recommending this venue to everyone + hope I can photograph a wedding here again!!!

I am SO GLAD that we went with Main Street Ballroom for our wedding!! They had a COVID package that allowed us to have up to 20 guests, use of their house furniture, an officiant, two bottles of champagne, and a small cake for a phenomenal price. Our officiant, Rachel, even met up with us a few weeks before the wedding so she could get to know us and craft our ceremony to reflect who we are. She was so open and awesome in her communications with us that, on the day of, we felt like we had a friend we had known for years marrying us, which really put me at ease. Another employee, Taylor, made sure that the whole wedding was captured on a live stream and got some great angles! Both Rachel and Taylor really bent over backward for us in terms of set-up and making sure everything went smoothly, and I can't thank them enough. You will not regret booking with them! -

The entire staff is amazing and we’re extremely easy to work with. I cannot express my gratitude enough. Even with the setbacks with COVID-19 and the state lockdown days before our original date, Kate and her team were willing to let us reschedule for a later date and kept all the information on hand from the original date. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate, this is the place. A day of venue manager was onsite at all times and tables,chairs, and other items were available with our contract which was a huge cost saver. The space is breathtaking! -

Perfect Venue for Surprise Proposal!
Kate was kind enough to let my fiancé and I use her amazing venue for a surprise proposal. She allowed us to use the entire space for a private dinner for two. She also helped find the best florist and photographer and helped coordinate the entire evening. Because of Kate, everything ran smoothly. She is so friendly and great to work with! The venue was gorgeous and was the perfect location for our engagement. We would absolutely recommend this venue for anyone!!!! Kate is the best! -

Main St Ballroom was the perfect location for our wedding! The historic charm and style of the venue is the main reason we chose it. The stone walls and polished concrete floors paired with the string lights and chandeliers make a beautiful starting palette for any design vision. The bridal suite and grooms room were perfect spaces for us to get ready in, and we could stay separate the way the venue is laid out. It was AWESOME to have the venue from 8AM to midnight. You are able to bring in any vendors you want which provides freedom and flexibility. The space can handle a lot of people, but make sure to think about your floor plan and dinner preference (buffet or formal). We fit 190 in the bar room for cocktail hour with the barn doors closed, but it was very tight. We had a formal seated dinner with that number in the main ballroom, with plenty of room for a dance floor. Communication with the venue managers is quick and consistent throughout your planning process and day of managers are very helpful and available to you the day of your event. A little more expensive compared to some others, but the full day window, flexibility of vendors, unique charm of the venue, and positive helpful staff make it 100 % worth it! Highly recommend this venue -

We had a wonderful experience with MSB. The venue speaks for itself and we were able to add personal touches in every way. We had at least 185 people fit, drink, eat, dance comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful in decor recommendations and the venue provides beautiful furniture pieces to add to the venue. We loved our experience, and guests continue to compliment the beauty of the venue. -

My husband and I loved having our wedding at MSB in October! We fell in love with the flexibility and beauty of the space - and the day of our wedding it was even more stunning (although I may be a little biased!) The twinkle lights and industrial pieces glowed during our reception and we received so many compliments on the entire space. All we had to bring in was added decorations because of the chairs and other furniture being included. This made our day so much easier since we had one less vendor to work with. I would recommend this venue to everyone and anyone! So beautiful and the staff are a dream to work with. Can we do it again?! -

I can’t speak highly enough regarding Main Street Ballroom and their staff. The venue has a 16 hour window (8 AM - 12 AM) and they truly go above and beyond to help make your vision come to life. They also provide a huge amount of freedom, creatively and also with hiring other vendors. And I haven’t even talked about how truly beautiful the space is - it has such a cool, romantic, funky and industrial vibe. It matched my husband and I perfectly. Please consider hiring MSB because I know it will provide a perfect canvas for planning your perfect wedding. -

When I first visited the space I loved it so much I didn't want to leave. This venue is a beautiful blank canvas that can suit any style. It's an added plus that the venue has cafe lights, chandeliers and lots of furniture free to use! And two pretty awesome prep suites. You really get your money's worth with this space. The whole MSB staff was super friendly and helpful through my planning process. The owner, Kate is awesome and our event manager, Jess, made sure our vendors had everything they needed on our wedding day. Thank you Main Street Ballroom for being a beautiful backdrop for our special day! -

Main Street Ballroom turned out better than we could have possibly imagined. One of the concerns with having a wedding is your day going by in an instant. We did not want our special day to seem short lived. MSB's all-day availability really slowed our day down and allowed us to enjoy everything going on around us, nothing felt rushed! 8:30AM-11PM is a truly underrated feature. Bride and Groom Suites allowed both parties to spend time at the venue comfortably without running into each other. Outdoor patio worked great for our Cocktail hour we planned on having inside, and the staff was flexible enough to let us hang a floral piece that really helped set the ambiance we desired! I booked this venue because I LOVE their look. However, I was also thrilled with the other things they offer. Rental window from 8am - midnight (and we used ALL of those hours) plus the freedom to use any vendors you want. I looked at places that force you to use one of their contracted caterers and didn't like that. MSB also has a lot of stuff that you can use for free: Easels, picture frames, tables, sweetheart table chairs, etc. They also provide chairs for 120 and 12 60 inch round tables (which I don't really think should seat 120... those tables really only fit 8 comfortably). When we needed to change from an 8:45 start to an 8am start 2 days before, they responded within an hour that it was ok.
Two possible drawbacks to this venue (in my opinion): Parking. This isn't really their fault, but parking was full by 2 or 3 pm, and we had to start about 15 mins late while we waited for people to arrive. I don't know if valet is an option for them, but it would really help. Also, there are crickets in the walls! When no one is in there it is LOUD because the crickets talk to each other and echo. However, either they went to sleep by the time my ceremony started or we just couldn't hear them... but they did not ruin the ceremony or the wedding. Just made me super nervous while getting ready while loud cricket sounds went off constantly :). Regardless, I would not change the venue if I had to do it again. It was the perfect place for us. -

My wife and I booked this venue for our wedding and it turned out just wonderful and beyond exceed our expectations!
Kate and the other staffs were champions. They communicated with our wedding planner to ensure everything was all set, prepared for and double checked on everything it needed to be done before our special day. On our wedding day, I cannot say enough about this beautiful flow throughout the day. The coordination between the MSB staff wedding planner It's in the heart of Ellicott City which that makes it even more a blessing. Highly recommended if you want to use your wedding, visit the venue first and you will love it! Thanks to all of the MSB to make our wedding a beautiful experience! -

So lovely!!!
We loved having our wedding at MSB. The space is rustic/industrial but simultaneously a blank canvas so you can design your own event. You get the space as early as 8 am so for a DYI-er like myself, it allowed me to decorate the space myself the day of. They also have several cool furniture pieces you can use for the day of. We did our wedding on a weekday and loved it! Staff was always responsive throughout the planning process. -

This venue is a perfect choice for any couple who loves historic Ellicott City as much as we do. It's located right in the heart of the small town and is full of history. The venue itself has beautiful polished concrete floors with so much room for all of the activities you could ever imagine. We had ample dancing room as well as a ton of space to spread out our 10 long farm tables and not feel cramped. The "annex" space was perfect for our ceremony of 75 and felt full yet open at the same time. We love the brick wall backdrops with the over-sized images of downtown EC that fill the space. The bride and groom suite spaces were perfect for getting ready. We couldn't have been more happy with everything at the Main Street Ballroom! -

I love this space! Ellicott city has so much character and the venue does too! I love that it is owned by a woman who is breaking the rules of the wedding industry, you have freedom to use the space from 8am-12am, you can use any caterer you want and you can bring in your own alcohol. All of that saves you a lot of money in the end! They also have perks if you use one of their recommended vendors, we used a recommended caterer and wedding planner. We had a fabulous wedding there! Highly recommend it!! -

The venue space was perfect for our wedding. We loved the aesthetic, and the location in Old Ellicott City was a big hit with our guests. The venue is extremely flexible in terms of how long you can use the space during the day, which made getting ready and coordinating vendors a breeze. Definitely recommend Main Street Ballroom! -
Constance Sent on 10/14/2017We were the first or one of the first to book out date in 2016 before the grande opening in 4/2017! We saw the vision and believed in Kate immediately! She has done an amazing job with adding the portable patio, side entrance stairway, barn doors, bridal suite, chandelier and so much more! We are proud of her success! Our event was simply amazing! Our planner set up Pipe & Drape so there would be a reception reveal and it wowed everyone! We had everything on site- ceremony at barn doors, cocktails on the patio, reception behind the draping. Our colors of wine, champagne and gold popped against the earth tones of Main Street Ballroom!

We originally went with Haven Street Ballroom, unfortunately they closed down three months before our wedding. But The Fêtewell Team, Laura, were so accommodating with getting us into Main Street.
After my doubts about the space, it came together perfectly. Our Brunch wedding fell into place without too many hiccups. At the end there was a little discrepancy that my family handled, other than that I would recommend this place to anyone who wants an intimate space for a wedding. -

I don't even know where to start... We of course had no idea what we were doing getting into wedding planning, but we started with looking into a venue. Once we decided to go with MSB, they made the process as easy as possible. It is no joke when they claim to take out some of the restrictions and general hassles when it comes to having a wedding. Getting into the venue at 8am and having the space until midnight (however we didn't need it that long) was wonderful. We did soo much ourselves and the thought of other venues having only 2 hours prior to the ceremony to set up just boggles my mind. The managers and coordinators were extremely helpful whenever we had questions about our day. We were also able to have the rehearsal at the venue the night before, which was incredibly helpful for planning! The space was gorgeous--urban, rustic, and industrial, so pretty with the stone walls and the bistro lights (which were there to use free of charge mind you!). We were able to make the space our own with hardly any restrictions. We had a lot of handmade/DIY things to hang and set up and when I was trying to figure out how to set them up, the manager for the day completely took care of it; his words, "don't worry we will find a way to do it and it will be done how you want it." HOLY music to my ears! It was also nice to have the bridal suite to use for getting ready with my bridesmaids! It's a beautiful space back there as well. The only issue we had, was we felt like communication could have been a little better as far as updates to the venue. However, we still had a fantastic experience and I could not recommend MSB enough to future couples. The venue is still new and MSB has done a lot of updating along the way to make the venue better and better, but we hadn't known there was an expansion on the venue until the planning was too far to budget for it--I believe we just weren't on the email chain. And there was a beautiful bar and a few other pieces of furniture that we did not know we were able to use. It worked out great because the bar was much prettier than the one we rented! However, if we even knew just one day for the wedding, we could have cancelled our rental and kept the money. Another thing to keep in mind is that the venue is somewhat bare and they don't provide trash service, so you need to pick a caterer that can help with that! Really, really loved this venue and I'm so happy my husband found it for us! BEST. DAY. EVER. -

We booked with MSB pretty soon after they opened and loved the fact that we were able to use any caterer we wanted and could supply our own alcohol. The flexible policies ultimately saved us a ton of money. Not to mention the venue is beautiful! We saved on decorations because the venue itself doesn't really need much. I'd definitely recommend booking there. -

We loved how our wedding day turned out at Main Street Ballroom. The additional space that was added in 2018 was SO necessary and we were glad that the space expanded just in time for our day :) The venue provides enough tables and chairs for 120 guests, so we opted to use the round tables with additional rented farmhouse tables. Having the flexibility to bring in any vendors we liked was great and we loved the ability to use contained candles. The location is great as well providing a lot of options for photos, rehearsal dinners, or after parties. Our day was perfect and we wouldn't have changed a thing. -

We did our ceremony and reception here, and the owners were super flexible in how we set up and used the space, which was very accommodating. We chose all our own vendors and were able to bring in our own alcohol which saved us a lot! The only real con was there were other people roaming around checking out the venue during our rehearsal - where we were under the impression we had the space reserved. It was very distracting and they were in the way of our processional practice even after we requested to have the space to ourselves. -

The space is gorgeous, but management is difficult to work with and often left me frustrated. They pride themselves on flexibility, but I found this was only the case when it came to hiring my vendors. With the venue itself, there was very limited flexibility & policies that changed on a whim without notice to contracted clients. I dealt with multiple scheduling headaches, often hearing a different answer from each staff member. The venue itself is beautiful & we loved being able to get ready right on site, but I expected a higher level of professionalism/customer service from a venue that considers itself premium (& charges premium prices). -

First off I’ll start by stating that our wedding was absolutely magical in the space of Main Street Ballroom. I was able to live out my dream wedding within those four walls. BUT the experience of dealing with Main Street was less than ideal.
Starting with them asking us to come in and meet with them for an initial meeting which was over an hour drive for us to get to only to ask us what we were doing there for the meeting. Well—- because you told us we had to come in for the walk through.
Next, for the next scheduled visit to the venue again to drive an hour there to have the lady who was meeting us as if we could push it back a half hour. After we told her we had already arrived she came in and told us she was being a couch potato and wanted to continue to scroll…
Next up would be when I was looking to schedule an appointment and had to download their pricing guide. Just beware that their prices are “market price” and they will book couples later in the year for less money to fill up their rental dates. Initially we had asked if we could do a non peak Friday price and they stated no because it would be unfair to their other brides and after this, I think this was unfair to other brides of the 2024 year. If you want to do that, don’t advertise the lesser price for current brides to see.
They also have no flexibility. We were on a VERY tight schedule and I had asked if our makeup girls could come in 15 minutes early while they were turning on the lights and getting our tables set up. They said no and they only rent out by the hour which was $750 but on their hourly rate it is $600. I did not need an hour, I needed 15 minutes. But turns out that they could not do that because our rental time started at 8am and they got there at 8:03 and had no tables or chairs set up for us so the rental technically was not even ready when we got there.
Also, if you do choose to get married there make sure you have a day of that is there all day. They do not sign in any of your rentals unless it comes from their catalog. Also, make sure you ask if anything has been added to rentals because they will not notify you if new stuff becomes available.
Make sure you also ask about all of the rules. There are some rules that are not outlined within the contract that aren’t necessarily a deal breaker but since we did not know about them until the final walk through, we needed to figure out how to pivot last minute.
Also, they do not assist with anything other if something were to spill, or a toilet get clogged. Yet we had a spill and they were no where to be found. Out catering team was there to clean it up. They did say it was their duty to even move the coat rack out from being visible when brides were walking down the aisle yet they failed on that as well as I’m seeing this coat rack in my photos as they come trickling in small detail that most may overlook but was a key point mentioned for me.
Overall my wedding was a dream and it was perfect but if I could have gotten my money back after dealing with them and moved venues, I would have.
