Maggie is absolutely amazing! She listened to all my fears and worries about how I wanted my makeup to look and she went above and beyond! She made me look better than I thought was possible! I hope I have more event that I can use her for!

LOOK NO FURTHER! These ladies will make your wedding hair and makeup dreams come true, and for less money!

In a sea of wedding hair and makeup that all looks the same (opposite of what I wanted), I was super picky about choosing my team, which I'm sure is a common issue amongst brides. But I'm not kidding when I say I looked, and looked, and looked, AND LOOKED for a makeup artist that would go BEYOND THE NORM for a true fantasy fairy tale look. Maggie elevated my makeup so much higher than I expected a wedding makeup artist would. My hair looked equally as amazing. My friends and family were legitimately shocked and impressed with their work. It was a dream come true!

Not only did Maggie make me feel my most beautiful on my special day, she was absolutely wonderful in the makeup trial. She listened to my likes and dislikes and the result was exactly what I envisioned and BETTER. Maggie is extremely professional but at the same time super personal and friendly. On the day of my wedding she was so great at time management as she did all of my bridesmaids' makeup as well as mine. Everyone looked beautiful and felt beautiful! One of my bridesmaids loved her makeup so much, she hired Maggie for HER wedding. I was so happy with the overall result, I would absolutely hire Maggie again or reccomend her to any of my friends!

Maggie and her team were an absolute dream to work with! Starting from day one with hair and makeup trials, these girls went above and beyond to be accommodating. They had great flexibility with scheduling and when it came to the trials themselves, they styled me exactly as I had pictured and dreamed. The day of the wedding, they arrived promptly on time and got down to business! With a bride and entire bridal party to style (both hair & makeup for all), I was very impressed with how well they managed their time in order to get everyone done and looking their best! Not to mention, the Mags Cathey team was so fun to work with in the bridal suite, keeping the mood fun, excited, and light. I would absolutely recommend this team to anyone!

When you look at Maggie's work, it really speaks for itself! I wanted a very glamorous look for my wedding, and Maggie more than delivered! Throughout the process of working with her, she was always very kind, enthusiastic, organized and responsive. Most importantly, she presents as very confident in her ability! I really enjoyed my trial with her as she is so easy to talk to and bubbly. On the day of our wedding, she came in with her team and got to work straight away as we had 12 people getting hair and makeup done. Prior to, she had come up with a schedule to ensure things moved efficiently, and that there was more than enough time to have everyone looking their best. She came prepared with a variety of tools and makeup to suit all skin conditions, tones, and types! My bridesmaids, the moms, grandmother, and me walked away extremely happy and feeling gorgeous! Thank you Maggie :)!

Maggie and Julie were FANTASTIC! Everything from the hair and make-up trial to the day of the wedding went so smoothly with them. They did hair and makeup for me, my bridesmaids (3 of them), my mom, and the flower girl. Maggie and Julie were punctual, professional, and a pleasure to work with - they definitely know what they're doing when it comes to hair and makeup and you can tell they are passionate about what they do. They were responsive and flexible when it came to specific requests - everyone just looked so fabulous! Me and all of my girls received so many compliments on our hair and make up throughout the day. I'm so glad I decided to go with Maggie (yes, dishing out the couple extra $$ was well worth it) because I felt absolutely beautiful and confident on my wedding day. I can't thank these ladies enough!!

I know that 5 star reviews can sometimes seem a bit "too good to be true," but honestly there isn't one thing I would change about working with Mags Cathey. She earns every star. From our initial communications to the makeup trial to the big day, she is incredibly professional, friendly, a great value, and amazing at what she does.

I do not wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis (in fact, most days I skip it entirely) so I was a bit worried about excessive bridal makeup making me look like someone I'm not. Maggie created a look that was special but still looked like me, and I'm so grateful.

I did my makeup trial pretty early, so my overall event look went through a couple of changes before my wedding. When I asked Maggie her opinion on changing my lip color a few weeks before, not only was she flexible with the change but also very supportive of my new vision.

She came to my hotel room on time and ready to go – complete with her own special makeup chair! I especially loved her joyful attitude during the process. She chatted and laughed with my bridal party and was more than happy to accommodate requests for specific "getting ready" shots from my photographer.

I cannot recommend her enough.

I really cannot say enough wonderful words about Maggie and her team and their services for my wedding. They are exceptionally professional, detail oriented, organized and talented and truly helped make my wedding experience even greater. I don't "glam up" very often so I wanted a very natural and elegant look for my engagement photos and wedding day, and boy did they deliver! Maggie listened to my ideas and filled in the areas in which I was clueless. She has a vast array of eye shadow, eye liner, eye lashes, foundation, blush, lip color and anything else you could possibly want. I wanted very little foundation to compliment my 'natural' look while some of my bridesmaids wanted a more 'bold' and fun cosmetic appearance and Maggie was so great at both! She arranged for me to have a trial for hair and make-up prior to my wedding day so we could finalize my look but she was in contact every step of the way leading up to it. She responded to any question and/or concern I had and made me feel so at ease. Like many brides I was incredibly anxious, excited, and nervous (walking down the aisle freaked me out...having everyone staring at me is not my idea of a good time) but Maggie had such calming and confirming words that really helped me relax and feel good about everything. Every one of my (female) guests came up to me and my bridesmaids to ask who did our hair and make up. People STILL talk about it today when I see them. I mean I already knew Maggie was great but to hear it from all of my guests felt wonderful! A few of my bridesmaids were in a couple weddings this past year and they all came back to me saying their hair and make up for my wedding was the best out of all their experiences. My girls looked absolutely stunning and I felt beautiful too. If I haven't said it enough already..THANK YOU Maggie for your time and dedication to making me feel and look like how I imagined on my wedding day. You and your team are simply amazing.

Maggie did the makeup for a wedding I was in recently- she did the makeup for the bride as well as the bridal party, including the bride's mother. She was incredible. Not only was our makeup flawless (we looked amazing, if I do say so myself) but I was so impressed with Maggie's ability to deal with stressful situations and keep the bride relaxed. On top of that, Maggie was so patient with some diva-like personalities in the party, which really kept everyone at ease. I felt so beautiful when she had finished her work. I hope I can hire her myself in the future!

She and her team were so professional and wonderful. They got all the girls finished in a timely manner. She even came to the venue with us and did makeup fixes before and after the ceremony, and was there to fix our makeup during photos. They were the absolute best makeup and hair team that I've ever had for a wedding that I have been a part of!!

I'm usually prodigiously good at dodging writing reviews, but this one, I just had to write. Mags (Maggie Cathey) is simply amazing. Which would normally be surprising of me to write, as I am someone who is extremely particular about what I like. I suppose it can be said that I am rather hard to please. But Maggie is simply a makeup wizard. As my sister's maid of honor, I have never looked prettier under Maggie's expert hands.

It should be noted that I have a face that many makeup artists easily butcher. I am Asian (Chinese), and despite having double eyelids, I have extremely hooded lids, translate = may as well not have any double eyelids. Under a less expert hand, my eyes could easily be made to look smaller, or even worse, have blue eyeshadow smeared on them. (Seriously, why do so many Asian makeup artists use blue eyeshadow on their clients??! It does NOT look good!) Instead, Mags gave me an amazing natural look that simply made my face glow! I felt radiant!

I seriously cannot recommend Mags enough (and believe me I have!). Perhaps the highest compliment that can be paid however, is repeat business. And I am devoted to Mags. If you are on the fence about your makeup artist, get off it and call Mags.

Maggie is a true professional! As a bridesmaid, I bombarded Maggie with photos of some makeup ideas and looks I thought would fit my style and the wedding. She was really open to my ideas (so was the bride, don’t worry) and knew exactly how to execute my look. She took the time to make sure the tones and foundation really matched my face and complimented my other features. Maggie tended to each bridesmaid, the moms, grandmas, sisters and of course the beautiful bride, she made sure each one had their time in the chair and everyone looked STUNNING!

She didn’t stop there though! Maggie was also a guest at the wedding and was on her game the entire day! She kept her makeup kit around her waist for the photos and ceremony, I would turn around and she was reapplying someones lip stick, powdering a nose, fixing lashes and all of the above! She was our guardian makeup angel and I just couldn’t believe how above and beyond she was going for us! Again, Maggie is a true professional and I cant speak more highly of her!

Maggie is a wonderful makeup artist! She was extremely professional and made sure that mine (the bride's) and my bridesmaid's needs were met as far as application, color, and longevity. Maggie was able to bring my vision to life and made excellent recommendations. She was able to do everyone (6 ladies) within a timely manner and made sure the time line she had created was followed. No one was running late due to our makeup! What made Maggie above and beyond to me, is that she was there for the pictures to apply as needed (lipstick-all other makeup stayed on looonnng throughout the night). She uses high-quality makeup and uses amazing & innovative techniques.

MAGGIE IS A MIRACLE WORKER. I was a Maid of Honor in a wedding back in May and Maggie was our make-up artist. She took special care to ensure that each bridesmaid (and especially the bride) were made up in just the right way. She has a fun energy and a (needed) calming presence around the bride. The girls looked beautiful. The wedding pictures turned out great and were proof of Maggie's excellent quality. I don't think I could recommend her enough!

This team was awesome. 4 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, and a bride were magically transformed on time and since this wedding took place at a residence, efficiently and stress-free. I cannot sing enough praises about Mags Cathey Makeup and her team. She succeeded in making me feel glamorous and natural at the same time, which is not an easy feat. Maggie is able to translate the social trends your desire to accentuate your personal features. It is hard to find a makeup artist who is able to make you feel like the best version of yourself. I am quick to recommend her and eager to use her again!

Maggie is the best makeup artist ever. I had a horrible experience with my first makeup trial... The makeup made me look like a completely different person (and not in a good way). When I decided not to go with them, it was only two weeks away from my wedding and I was scrambling to find someone else. I was soooo happy that Maggie was available. She knocked it out of the park in an hour for my trial. She was so pro, and the makeup looked exactly how I wanted. On the day of my wedding she knocked out makeup for four of my bridesmaid including myself with time to spare. Her prices are very reasonable for how amazing she is, which is a bonus! You will be very happy if you hire her. I highly recommend her.

Maggie is professional and fun. She can multi task well. She's friendly, yet can stay on task and get the job done. As a participant in the wedding party, you want to look good in the end, but have fun getting there... Maggie does that.

Maggie is AMAZING. She is so easy-going and calming among all the pre-wedding stress. She did a fantastic job on my makeup and both my mothers' makeup, which left us with gorgeous pictures that we will cherish forever. She incorporated everything we talked about and tested at the makeup trial, and even helped me learn how to take care of my skin better (I had no idea it was so dry--now I use moisturizer much more often and it is so much more healthy). I would recommend Maggie to anyone. She completely nailed the look I wanted for a half-outdoor, half-indoor wedding. She made my blue eyes look better than they ever have before. I'm so grateful to her for doing such a fantastic job!

Maggie was friendly, warm and efficient! She was open to any suggestions and did a fabulous job.

It was over 90 degrees the day of the wedding but you would have never know that at the end of the day. My makeup looked flawless!
If I lived in California I would be using her services all the time.

I was dreading having my makeup done for my wedding. I don't wear foundation and can't stand looking too made up. I explained my concerns to Maggie and she gave me a free trial at my house. Although she did a great job, I wasn't happy with the foundation and felt like every wrinkle was being highlighted. Maggie redid it again and it was much better. After she left I reached out to her again and asked if she could lighten it up even more on the wedding day. Honestly, I was nervous... But Maggie had decided to ditch the foundation and use a light powder instead! I was thrilled. It looked great, I felt great and the compliments were flowing all night. Thank you Maggie. I was a very happy bride!

Maggie was quick, efficient and precise- make-up on seven women in five hours was no easy task! She has the perfect eye for color, matching skin tones, and accentuating facial features. Maggie brought a fun and energetic vibe. Highly recommended!

Maggie and her partner did an excellent job! She made every bridesmaid's makeup pop by bringing out their natural beauty! She's especially good with highlighting facial structure and providing much needed definition that looks great on close ups and and far away pics! She was on time and reasonably priced!

When I first met Maggie, I just knew that she was to be my makeup artist. I had less than 3 months before my wedding when I first contacted her so the trial was free. I didn't have anything specific picked out but from our conversation, she managed to select the perfect look on the first try. Maggie is the perfect combination of professional and super friendly. She knows how to get the job done and is such a joy to be around. I have eczema on my face and the makeup she uses actually calmed my breakout by the next day, which has never happened before. The morning of my wedding, she was early to arrive and was ready to go. My wedding was in my mother's house and she was flexible with limited space. She was also flexible when I decided last minute to change my lipstick color to bright red, instead of nude. Maggie went out of her way to make sure that I had enough touch-up makeup to last through the night (thank you again for that, Maggie. That was so awesome of you!). She also did the makeup for 4 bridesmaids and 2 mothers... every single one of them couldn't believe how stunning they looked. We went for more natural hues and she perfectly brought out the color of our eyes and complimented skin tones. Basically, I 100% recommend Maggie for any occasion. She's an exceptional makeup artist and a solid person all around. I received so many compliments from my family and friends. Thank you, Maggie!! XOXOX

Maggie did my makeup for my cousins wedding and it turned out great. She did airbrush makeup which stayed on all day and night and I especially loved my eye makeup, really made my blue/green eyes pop! Maggie has a great personality and felt like a longtime friend instead if someone I had just met - she asked me for input, conversation was easy, and she was very professional. She even provided little kits with mints & lipgloss for all of the girls in cute little bags so we wouldn't be without the color she used for reapplying, that was a great touch!

Great quality of work. Photographed very well, even after sweating with the crazy heat that day. The little gift bags to maintain the look were also a great touch.

I cannot began to tell you how amazing Maggie is! My makeup was flawless on my wedding day. She really is very talented. Everyone was asking me who did my make up. If you want to look amazing on your wedding or at any event, look no further. She will truly impress you. People kept telling me that I looked Stunning! I don't wear a lot of makeup, so I was nervous about using a professional on my wedding day. I was worried I would look overdone or not done enough, as this had been my experience in the past. I had a lot of doubts running through my head--maybe I just don't look good in makeup, maybe I have unrealistic expectations, maybe I should just forget it and do my makeup myself. Then came Maggie.
She came recommended by our photographer, who spoke very highly of her skill and professionalism, but I quickly learned there was much more to her. From the first moment we met she made me feel at ease, listening intently to all my concerns and normalizing my nerves. She listened carefully to my feedback, making sure that I was completely happy with how I looked. BUT, she didn't stop there. Maggie came to our first look photos, reassuring me all the way and doing touch ups between shots. She stuck around through ALL of the bridal party photos. She used her sense of humor to help me stay relaxed, clearly tuned in to how I was feeling, and even tromped through the brush with us (did I mention she was pregnant through all of this?). There is no question in my mind about Maggie's skill and professionalism. She knows what she's doing. Maggie was easy to contact, was very reasonably priced, listened well, ultimately delivered on the big day, I looked amazing, blah blah blah. A lot of makeup artists can do that. But what sets her apart is on an entirely different level. She has this ease about her. A calm, focused, and--at the risk of sounding too kumbaya--peaceful demeanor that zaps nerves and puts even the most tense bride at ease (that was me). Somehow, she melted into the group of friends and family surrounding me and I didn't even blink.
I couldn’t be happier with my decision to hire Maggie for my wedding. I am so grateful for her skill, patience, and humor. If I could recommend her services by shouting from atop a mountain, I totally would. But for now, this will have to do.

Maggie is absolutely amazing!!! She made my bridal party and I look gorgeous and was such a pleasure to work with. I wish I could have her do my makeup every day! ;)

Maggie is amazing! I couldn't imagine anyone better to do my makeup for my wedding. She did all the makeup for a wedding in which I was a bridesmaid, so when it was my turn to be the bride I knew who I wanted right away. When I first contacted her she responded quickly and we set up a trial at her studio within a few weeks. She listened and took notes as I explained how I envisioned looking on my wedding day and I loved the result! The package I chose included her staying with me for 5 hours to do touch ups throughout my pictures and before my ceremony which was so great, and even at the end of the night my makeup was still perfect. My bridesmaids were so impressed with my makeup that most of them then paid to have Maggie do theirs as well! I would highly recommend Maggie to anyone!

I can't say enough about how amazing Maggie made me feel on my special day. I had seen a lot of her work and just loved it! Iknew I wanted her to do my make up that day. She already had a wedding scheduled the same day as mine but she worked it out for me that she could still do both weddings. She made me feel so comfortable even though I'm not a person that wears makeup all that often she helped me understand what she was doing and what it did to enhance how I would look in photographs and in the sunlight since my wedding was outside during the day. She was on time the morning of and was done very quickly. I couldn'tbelieve how long my makeup lasted and how fresh it looked even late into the night. I would highly recommend Maggie because she is so professional yet so easy going. I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful makeup artist

I was nervous about make up- didn't want too much, but wanted my pictures to look fabulous of course! Maggie was so easy to talk to, understood all of my concerns and easily won my confidence in her work! She did all 6 of my bridesmaids too- and I absolutely love looking back at my photos to see how stunning we all looked! I'm so glad I chose Maggie to do mine and my bridesmaid's make up for my wedding! The make up she used lasted all day and she even gave us little "to-go" lipsticks of our color to touch it up after the meal and all that smiling for the photos. I planned my wedding in a very short amount of time and in turn ended up contacting Maggie about a month and a half before my wedding date. Fortunately she responded to me quickly and we were able to book. Maggie played her part in making my wedding a beautiful day!

Maggie made me feel so beautiful on my most special day. The wedding photos looked amazing and I have her to thank for that. I had my makeup applied at 6:45 in the morning and my wedding was at 2pm. It lasted all day and looked flawless the whole time.

I've known Maggie for years now, and she is awesome at every event she does, but the best thing about her service is how calm she is. I got a little stressed out on my wedding day and she was extremely calm and professional which was a great help. Her and her team are the best!
Plus, we all looked stunning. =)
