    Mixed Feelings

Initially I hired Magnolia Event Rentals for my Bridal Shower. They provided both florals, and rental items as well as setup and breakdown. Gabrielle was super responsive during the planning process and brought great ideas to the table. She was also very patient and flexible as my vision for the shower evolved and rental items were added and omitted. On the day of Gabby and her team executed everything perfectly. My husband also drove a U-Haul to my shower filled with decor items we personally brought and he locked it with a lock pad and left the key at home. We live an hour and 30 minutes away from the venue. Luckily, a Magnolia team member was able to break the lock to retrieve all the items.

I was so happy with the way everything turned out I hired them again for my wedding.
Unlike my bridal shower, there weren’t as many moving parts here as Magnolia was only providing rental items for three key areas of the wedding - the ceremony area, the seating chart display, and our sweetheart table. Even though the rental wasn’t as plentiful as the bridal shower, these were significant parts of the wedding. Everything was fine until we weren’t receiving answers our emails, calls and texts for a period of time one month from the big day. It wasn’t until two weeks before the wedding that we FINALLY received a response at which point we had made other arrangements in case Magnolia fell through.

Ultimately their execution on the day of the wedding was flawless, but it was a journey to get there.

    Magnolia Event Rentals LLC's reply:

    Hey Aaron!

We are so sorry about that lack of communication in that time. Our brand has grown exponentially in the past two years and the influx of inquiries caused us to have a shift in our team and company, so we apologize that it may have come as lack of communication to you. We are very glad to hear that you loved the wedding and we hope that we can work with you in the future!!

    Disappointing Wedding Rental Experience

Of all our wedding vendors, Magnolia Events was the only one who was a disappointment and difficult to work with. We ran into a number of issues with Magnolia. First and foremost was the quality of the rental items delivered. The white rental bar were delivered in a damaged state - shelves were broken off, paint was chipped, it was dirty and covered in black scuff marks, and pieces were loose and about to fall off. It looked like the rental items were at the end of life and had been through the ringer. Second, they missed the promised delivery window. On top of the disappointing product and service, Magnolia has charged us $1,000 for damages that did not occur during our rental period and were not noted when they picked up the rental items. We have attempted to contact them numerous times to dispute the egregious charge and address our negative experience, and they will not respond.

    Run from this vendor

If you want to cry on your wedding day, have zero flowers at your sweetheart table and bridal party tables, miss your cocktail hour because of your florist, be lied to, and have to go to court after your married - than this is the company you should do business with.

The flowers on my wedding day were so bad and completely off from what I asked for/contracted that myself (in my wedding gown) and the venue staff removed them before guests came into the ballroom which caused me to miss my cocktail hour. My husband who doesn’t even notice anything and always thinks everything looks great thought they looked terrible and told me he didn’t want to say anything to me on our wedding day when he saw them before me.

I had nothing but amazing experiences with all of my vendors for my wedding - except magnolia. I read reviews like this from other brides and I ignored them thinking they were one offs. But after speaking to a handful of brides who used them, it was clear that this was a pattern for them. They have a terrible reputation despite what the “google reviews” say. In my opinion a majority of the reviews on here are either fake, from people they know, or they are a bipolar company offering vastly different services across their customer base. Never have I met such an unprofessional and unethical business. Please RUN from them - you will regret it if you don’t.

Below are the consistent experiences other brides have had working with them including myself:

    1. Extremely Difficult to work with - defensive with an attitude, making you feel like they are doing you a favor by paying them to service you, late or no responses to emails, disorganized, forgetful.
    2. They will threaten you - 2-3 weeks out from my wedding day they threatened to cancel my floral contract because they were annoyed that I was upset they couldn’t get the flowers they originally told me they could. They said it was because the flowers weren’t in season. A) Why was this communicated 2-3 weeks out from my wedding day and not when design was finalized months in advance ? The season of my wedding was always fall. B) Why am I being threatened because they’re unable to deliver what they promised ?
    3. They are dishonest - they will tell you one thing and not follow through. For example, after what they did to me on my wedding day, they said they would refund me a portion for the flowers. They kept saying the check was in the mail (oldest excuse in the book, also I paid via credit card a simple refund on the original payment method would suffice) - 2 months of asking where the refund is, and still no refund. Now we are suing them.
    4. Pay more get less - You will get WAY less than what you paid for (across every bride I spoke to, every single one of them said this. They were shocked with the quality and amount of florals they got for how much they charge. For example I got a quote from the top lush florist in NJ for my venue that does the BEST work and is in tons of magazines, they were cheaper than magnolia who doesn’t have the reputation or quality of work to match their prices. Only reason I didn’t book the other florist is because they were unavailable on my date. Biggest mistake - should of kept looking for other options.
    5. You want to pay for a trial? Better luck next time. I had asked for a trial 10 different times starting a year in advance of my wedding. They told me I needed to wait until we were closer to the wedding. So I waited until they told me to and when I asked again they said they didn’t have time. They then said they would do a spray paint sample and send me a pic since they couldn’t do an in person trial and that was also a lie. I reminded them several times about the sample and they just simply never did it. They told me I needed to “trust them” and that they knew what they we’re doing. So I did - and I ended up in tears on my wedding day.

    Wouldn’t recommend at all

The first two pictures are what Magnolia did on my wedding day and the last picture was in my contract and what I was expecting after multiple phone discussions with Gabrielle. We agreed upon the top portion of the picture. Gabrielle who I worked directly with has ignored my emails and text messages about how disappointed I was in the service they provided. I asked for a full refund bc they broke the contract. My contract was for mini white string lights and they hung medium sized bulbs. Also, they gave me 6 single strands of lights. How is 6 strands of lights worth over $2,000? I discussed with Gabrielle over the phone that I would be getting the top portion of the string lights photo which is also posted in my contract. I do not recommend using Magnolia Events for your wedding. They even charged me an extra “repurpose fee” to move my arrangements from the alter to the sweetheart table. No one from their company was there to do this. An employee of my venue did this. It’s been almost a month since my wedding and Magnolia still hadn’t responded to my emails or text messages and Gabrielle hasn’t tried to rectify the situation.
