We had MPS take care of our MC/DJ services, photo booth, lighting, and chair covers. I was so happy to find Phyllis and Richard!!!! We mainly communicated with Phyllis and she was simply wonderful to work with. I was looking specifically for an MC that would be able to speak fluent English and Cantonese for some of our family members that only spoke Chinese. Richard was perfect! Not only did he speak both languages but he really brought a great upbeat energy to the wedding and kept everyone entertained during the whole reception! The games were great!!!! The DJ was great! We couldn't have asked for a better last song encore (Taylor Swift - Shake It Off) to end the night because everyone loved it!!!! The photo booth was a blast and we got a nice scrapbook at the end. The lighting (GOBO, uplights, spotlights, etc) and chair covers were perfect and matched my overall theme. I only wish I got to meet and thank each of the MPS staff personally but because the whole day was such a whirlwind I didn't get a chance to :( I'm really happy that MPS did such a great job and I would highly recommend them to everyone! Thanks MPS!!!

Phyllis and Richard are the the best. I looked around for a long time for a bilingual wedding planning team for my Chinese-American fusion wedding, and I am so glad I had them as part of our wedding. Phyllis is a very experienced and sophisticated planner. During the planning stage, not only does she listen to my ideas, she would often times surprise me with her opinions and creativities to make my ideas even better. Every vendor she recommends is top notch.

Just like other reviewers commented here, as the wedding MC, Richard has the best sense of humor and really knows how to get the crow going. 80% of our guests are our parents' long term friends, so we were really worried that the dance floor was going to look empty and the crowd was going to be too quiet. Richard was able to get almost everyone get up and dance with us. It was a blast and we couldn't have been happier.

On our wedding day, Phyllis and Richard went above and beyond to make sure everything was absolutely perfect, and everybody in their team was super nice and professional. Looking back, I couldn't even imagine how I would have survived this process without their input. Definitely a 5-star for the impeccable work and I would highly recommend Machs Party Studio to anyone!

We initially found MPS through yelp for lighting services and eventually booked them for MC, DJ, officiant, lighting, backdrop, and wedding coordinator. Boy was that a wise decision. We probably would have booked MPS for more vendors but had already book those elsewhere. Richard was our bilingual (Cantonese/English) MC and officiant. He was charismatic, calm, and professional. We received a lot of feedback from our guest that the wedding was fun as Richard had kept the guests entertained throughout the entire time. One of our favorite was how he was able to get all of our the guests into the games and onto the dance floor. Phyllis was our wedding coordinator. She was very organized, professional, and supportive. At many times, we were uncertain if our wedding planing progress is at a good pace or not and Phyllis was there to give us honest feedback and advices on what to prioritize on. From start to finish of the wedding, she is attentive to all the details and her work really shows because our wedding went very smoothly. On the day of the wedding, we didn't have to worry about a thing and just enjoyed the spotlight. Overall, we really miss working with MPS, especially with Phyllis. As our guest puts it, "there was never a dull moment". MPS, we wish you success in the future because you guys definitely deserve it!

Phyllis and Richard are the perfect couple! It's no wonder why they work on weddings! They exceeded our expectations and made sure everything went as planned. We hired them for day of coordinating, officiant, DJ/MC, lighting and draping.

Richard has the BEST personality and really knows how to get the crowd going. He was able to keep both the young and old crowd entertained through out the entire night.

As great as Richard was, there would have been no night without Phyllis. She was with us from the beginning and made sure we didn't miss a single thing. She is so experienced and has a great way of incorporating new and old traditions. She helped us to shop for the best vendors to build our dream wedding.

Our wedding was perfect!

We hired Phyllis and her team for our wedding as our officiant, day of coordinator, DJ/MC and Lighting. Phyllis is very organized and she will ensure everything runs smoothly on your big day. She worked well with all my other vendors and made sure everyone knew the run down. One thing though you do need to do a lot of planning ahead of time yourself but Phyllis is always there to guide you if you need help, some of the things she thought of we would never have realized that it would be so important like assigning gift # for all your guests so you know who gave you what, little things like that makes all the difference.
The only thing I wish could have been better if the assistant were better trained so that they could help Phyllis out as I felt they weren't as sharp and everything was dependent on Phyllis, probably would have been even better if the assistant was able to help out more.
All our guests were impressed by how smooth the wedding went. Overall we had a great experience with them would definitely recommend Phyllis and her team if you need a vendor that can provide the full solution or need a bi-lingual officiant/MC. Her prices are also very reasonable for what you are getting.

Phyllis and Richard Mach helped us plan our dream reception. Despite our limited time to plan, they helped us make it a huge success!!! Everyone had a great time and we made lifetime memories. We watched the video of events afterwards many, many, many times and are still amazed how well everything turned out.

Would recommend with the highest praise.

From a friend's referral, we found Phyllis to be our Wedding Planner. Her attention to details and patience really helped us every step of the way during our wedding planning process. Her years of experience really showed in her work. She assisted us with great vendor referrals and we ended up saving hundreds of dollars by ordering our floral and lighting decor with Machs Party Studio. They offered really competitive package price and I only have to deal with one contact.

Richard was a great officiant and MC for our wedding. We received lots of compliments from our friends and family member. A couple of friends told me that my wedding was the best and most "fun" wedding they've attended. I am really happy my friends had a good time at my wedding and I know I could not have done this without Phyllis' detail planning and Richard's MC style. Thank you soooo much Phyllis and Richard for making my wedding so perfect! I will definitely recommend you guys to my friends.

I had Richard as my wedding MC and he is just wonderful. All my guests & me & my husband had a GOOD time! Phyllis was also nice and helpful, she's very responsive to all my questions before the wedding.

It was great working with Phillis, She is very responsible and great at coordinating our wedding. I definitely will recommend her to any future brides. She is a great officiant and wedding coordinator at my wedding. Me and my husband were very pleased with her work. We could not have done it without Phillis. She is very well coordinated and detail oriented. Our wedding was perfect just how I dreamed of because of her. Thank you, Phillis Mach.

We hired Phyllis to be our day-of coordinator for our May 2012 wedding at Pacific Palms in Industry Hills. Phyllis is on the preferred vendor list provided by PP and was recommended to us by our venue manager. I do have to say that even after hiring Phyllis we were still not convinced of the value of a day-of coordinator for the longest time, it turned out to be one of the best hires for our wedding.

Unlike most couples, we were fairly confident in our ability to research the internet and do comparison shopping for wedding vendors. Therefore by the time we approached Phyllis, we had already hired a photographer and an officiant, and had decided the venue. Because of this, Phyllis was nice to recommend only the day-of coordinator service for ~$900-$1000. I can easily imagine people trying to hard sell us the more complete (and expensive) package. (As we later found out, there were A LOT MORE to plan in the wedding than just the venue, the officiant, and the photography.)

We ended up going with Machs Party Studio for the emcee / DJ package (Richard Mach, Phyllis' husband, was the emcee), the florist, the chair covers, and the lighting. For the florist, the chair covers, and the lighting we wrote a check out to Machs Party Studio, but it is not completely clear to me whether MPS functions solely as a middle-person or if they handle these services themselves as well. We also hired the videographers and the make-up artist on Phyllis' recommendation. I would not say these are the cheapest options for each of these vendors, but I think I very much liked how they turned out on our wedding day. The only exception was the quality of the make-up (Janna), but that could be my high expectations having gone through the Taiwanese wedding industry types of make-up for our engagement photos. Even our make-up artist friend said the wedding make-up was professional and great, so it is probably just me.

We had Phyllis as our wedding coordinator, emcee, and she also had a DJ. Pros: She's responsive on emails, tries to be flexible on meetings, was a good emcee as she spoke both english and mandarin, and was organized. Cons: She was supposed to be at the ceremony 90 minutes before but decided to come 60 minutes before and as a result, vendor set ups were not checked properly (ie. our projector was only visible to half of our guests, place settings were not put out in time delaying placement of favors), my father's boutinierre wasn't delivered so my brother (a groomsmen) had to rush looking for him to get it on before the ceremony, she was supposed to make sure the bride looks like "most beautiful bride ever" and that "all members of wedding party are picture perfect" but didn't instruct us about putting my veil back during the ceremony so it was on until I had to put it back myself, and didn't note that my bustle was on properly resulting in me trying not to trip on it during my first dance. These are things that a coordinator is supposed to be paying attention to. I don't think she was able to juggle the coordinating and emceeing as well as she should have since all these things went wrong. Overall the experience was average. At her pricing, we should have had better quality of service.
