Perfect Wedding cocktail reception music

Lydia played for cocktail hour before our wedding dinner. She arrived and set up without me even seeing - the music just magically began. The choice of pieces she played was varied and just lovely background music. My grandsons even recognized some pieces they love. She was very flexible and easy to work with. Then when the time came for dinner she quietly disappeared. Very nice experience. I'd definitely hire her again.

Ceremony music- Harp & Violin

Lydia is extremely talented and has a large catalog of songs to chose from. She play before and during our ceremony, we had a violin as in addition to harp. Our guests enjoyed the music pre-ceremony. She responds to our email communication in a timely manor and was professional and polite. We are very pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Lydia!

Wonderful and beautiful music

We used Lydia for our wedding and couldn't have been happier with our experience. She was professional, flexible, and very willing to work with our requests. Having her music really elevated the beauty of the event, and she was truly an invaluable part of the experience!

Perfection!

Lydia's music transcended the decorated industrial-garden courtyard, rustic ivy background, and spiffed-up guests who attended our daughter's wedding ceremony, adding an elegance that was as perfect as the September afternoon.

Peaceful addition to the day!

What a joy it was working with Lydia! Besides the obvious (she plays beautifully), Lydia was so easy to work with. As I was planning an out of town wedding and had never heard Lydia, she arranged for me to meet in her studio to review the selections and timing. Made a couple of changes to the original contract, all of which were executed flawlessly. Thanks Lydia for your contribution to a wonderful wedding day!

Amazing experience

Lydia was absolutely fantastic! A harp was something I’ve always dreamed of playing at my wedding and it was certainly not disappointing. By choosing the music to the day of Lydia was on top of it. Very thankful we found her!

Made our Wedding so Magical!

Lydia made our wedding day feel so magical and special. Her playing is so beautiful and my family enjoyed listening to her so much. Lydia was responsive and so flexible with constantly changing wedding plans, due to our wedding being during the covid-19 pandemic. We ended up have a backyard wedding with only immediate family and were so thrilled Lydia was able to be a part of our day, truly so special.

Wonderful musical performance!

Lydia Haywood did a wonderful job playing the harp and piano for my wedding. Everyone loved her music! She is a skilled and passionate about her music. I would definitely recommend Lydia for any special event!

Beautiful Touch to our Ceremony

Being the bride, there are so many things you miss but I can tell you I remember the harp in the background guiding me and my father down the isle to my husband. It calmed my nerves and was simply beautiful. Lydia was so fun to work with and truly set our ceremony apart from others. She was even willing to learn a few extra songs for me at only the cost of her sheet music. I would highly recommend her as she continues to receive only the highest of compliments from my guests.

Lydia was wonderful to work with! Our wedding was a small backyard wedding and she was the PERFECT addition to our ceremony. She had no hesitations about being outside and was just a joy to work with. It was really fun picking out songs as we planned the ceremony. She was helpful and full of suggestions. I love the mix of classic and modern songs choices and also her willingness to learn new songs. Oh and the music was beautiful!!!

Lydia was wonderful. There were so many compliments given to us regarding the choice of the harp for our music. We would highly recommend Lydia. The ceremony was outside in a wedding garden. The music carried along with the breeze making the sound even more beautiful. It was also nice having harp music playing during the cocktail hour as well. Lydia's music is absolutely beautiful. It added an air of elegance to our tiny service, making a big impact. Our church was very old and very tiny and frankly any other music would have overpowered the small venue. It was so important to me to have a harp at our service that I chose it over things like flowers, etc. We had a small budget to work with so we had to be particular with our choices. Thankfully Lydia's rates are extremely reasonable and to be quite frank, flowers die but I will forever have the cd she produced for us, just as I will always have my memories. I know I will never forget standing in the vestibule, listening to her play Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring; my heart felt so full it's hard to put into words just how much that meant to me. Then she moved on to Canon in D and it was time for me to finally walk down the aisle to meet my husband. If you want to add that special indescribable something to your event, I definitely recommend booking Lydia.

Lydia was amazing! She was so professional and helpful throughout all of the planning!! I had a few songs that I wanted, but no ideas for others. She sent samples, offered suggestions and guided me in setting up the music. She really selected amazing music for my day!! At the ceremony- she was so, so nice, and her playing was gorgeous!!! Everyone talked about it!! I cannot say enough about her... And highly, HIGHLY recommend her!!!

Lydia wa professional and very easy to work with. She had so many songs on the list that she already knows/plays and even was willing to learn a new one for our ceremony. Lydia was polite, energetic, professional and responsive. She always replied promptly to my inquiries and played beautifully outside at our wedding. I would highly recommend her for any event. Lydia was amazing! The music was flawless and beautiful for our black tie wedding at the art museum and statehouse. She worked with us beforehand to make sure the music fit our personalities and one song flowed into another. She even learned "our song" and we were able to hear that as we walked out for the first time as husband and wife.

I would highly recommend Lydia to anyone looking for an elegant harp for their wedding. She did a wonderful job.

Although, as the bride, I didn't get to hear the pre-ceremony music, I had nothing but glowing comments from my husband and my guests about Lydia's fabulous playing and her beautiful harp before the ceremony. I heard her play the processional piece, a piece in the middle of the ceremony and the recessional tune. All were beautiful.

I picked a few non-traditional pieces she had in her playlist to be played before the ceremony along with more traditional pieces. Guests were surprised to hear Stairway to Heaven being played on the harp. Lydia was willing to play our choices and would have learned something new had we requested it.

She allowed us to come to her home to hear her play before we decided to go with her. She was friendly, pleasant and extremely talented. I would highly recommend her services. The only thing I would offer to Lydia to improve would be to offer more samples of her playlist on her website. I did listen to quite a few of the songs listed on her playlist through other harpists' websites since I was not familiar with the majority of the pieces. I'm sure she would have played anything requested in person but in making the decision about songs, I found listening to them at home repeatedly on the web helpful.

I did make my selections and sent her my song choices. She offered suggestions to my choices and we rearranged or changed things accordingly. I was glad to have her input and reasoning. She advised on pieces that were more appropriate for different portions of the service which made sense as I had only heard samples of many when I selected them. My only regret was not having her videotaped (no video of the rest of my ceremony either) for me to hear her playing before the ceremony and to be able to enjoy it at a later time. I would absolutely go to hear her play publicly any time I had the chance.

I absolutely cannot say enough about Lydia Haywood. She provided the music for our ceremony and our dinner afterward. EVERYONE commented on how beautiful and classy Lydia & her Harp were. I picked my own music, some not traditional at all, and Lydia was more than accommodating to this. You would truly be doing yourself an injustice not to have her play for your event!!! Looking for something "different" to walk down the aisle? Have Lydia play John Denver's "Annie's Song" for you. Totally amazing and highly recommended!

Our wedding day, June 29, 2012, brought one of the worst wind and rain storms of the year to central Ohio. The wedding ceremony and reception were being held at our home in the back yard. Now everything had to be rearranged to happen inside the house, and the electricity had gone out. It was complete chaos as the family and wait staff worked to get everything ready. Lydia arrived, set up her harp, and began to play. After a few minutes, everyone in the house looked so much less panicked. It was impossible to be stressed out while listening to such angelic music. The electricity came back on just before the ceremony began. We only started about a half hour late. Lydia’s playing made the ceremony and the reception that followed both beautiful and elegant. We received so many favorable comments from our guests on how wonderful the harp music was. Lydia even played for an extra hour when we asked her. We would highly recommend Lydia Weaver Haywood to anyone who desires to have a truly special and elegant event.

Lydia so graciously provided her God-given talent during our ceremony. The harp was a perfect addition to the music and overall atmosphere I wanted to have during the ceremony. She was flexible, willing to meet with me, and coordinate with the piano player. They even met and practiced on their own time without me being there. I allowed them to make decisions about the music to play prior to the ceremony because of the trust and confidence I had in them. The music I had selected for my wedding fell thru a few days before and as a last minute scramble my now Husband came across Lydia on Craigslist. We listened to some of her music on line and were very happy. I called her the day before the event to see if she was available and she was! Lydia was very professional and made it a lot easier for me. I was busy before the ceremony, but she spoke to all the right people to figure out when and where she needed to be. The music was very beautiful and she was very professional. All the the guests raved about her harp playing and quite a few of them asked for business cards. Lydia had a very reasonable price for the quality of music that she provided. I will be sure to reccomend her to anyone and everyone I know!!

My husband and I were SO thrilled with Lydia's harp playing at our wedding. Numerous guests commented on how beautiful the music was. It was exactly what we wanted for our wedding - elegant and just (sorry to use the word again, but it's the one that fits) beautiful. Lydia has a huge repertoire to choose from, and she is an incredible harpist. I can't say enough good things about our experience with her - she's wonderful!

Lydia Haywood did a fantastic job for our wedding. The music was absolutely beautiful. As the bride, I didn't get to hear most of it, but those who did were really moved by it and kept commenting on how beautiful it was. Lydia was actually recommended to me by my wedding coordinator, and the suggestion was spot on. Lydia's price was fantastic and fit perfectly into our budget, but we still got the full, rich sound we wanted (but couldn't have afforded with stringed instruments). Lydia is very experienced and professional at providing ceremony music. She has a large repertoire of classical and contemporary songs she can play, and she is also open to learning new songs if you have a specific one you would like. Her music is skillful and graceful, and her full-size harp presents a very elegant picture.
I understand she is much in demand for a variety of performances, not just weddings, so be sure to contact her well ahead of time.

We found Lydia as a recommendation from a friend who have seen her perform at Orchestra. I knew that I wasnted to have a harpist at the wedding and very glad that she was able to be there for our special day! Her talent is amazing and all of our wedding guests loved her performance.
