The Luxe was a great venue for us for a couple reasons: close proximity to our church ceremony, overall design of the hotel and grounds and most importantly the wedding coordinator, Sarah Leibsohn who was awesome throughout the whole process.
Unlike other reception venues around the city, the ballroom is not overly decorated or designed which we preferred. Some of the previous reviews mentioned that as a negative but it it allowed us to be very creative with the space. we didnt want a reception venue that was outdated or decorated with ugly ornate carpet. if you are the type that likes modern design and have a vision of your wedding decor or theme, the luxe is good venue to check out. Also, the most important part of the Luxe was Sarah since she was on top of it the whole time from the date we signed the contract all the way through the wedding day. She is full of energy and is straightforward and very professional.

My fiance and I searched and searched for wedding locations. Originally we wanted to have our ceremony overlooking the ocean, but there were no locations that fit us perfectly that also had such personalized service. It seemed like every place we went was like a wedding factory and we wanted our location to be intimate and we needed to have a hotel attached because its hard for my grandmothers to move around a lot. I had an appointment at the Luxe and I wasn't very excited about the location because it wasn't near the beach. But I decided to go to the appointment with my mom anyway. From the second I stepped out of the car at the Valet I knew that this was it. Our pseudo theme of the wedding was old Hollywood and the hotel fit it perfectly. Not to mention that we would be the only wedding there that evening so we would have the full attention of the catering staff and event planners. Outside near the ceremony location they have lights strung on all the trees so it gives it a very romantic feel. We meat with Judith who helped us throughout the whole planning process and who was extremely responsive when we told her how badly our original tasting went. She immediately spoke to the catering staff and we rescheduled the tasting. On the day of the event Sarah was there to help get everything together. All the hotel staff was extremely professional. Not to mention what you actually got in the packages. It didn't feel like we were in LA or off of the 405. We didn't need to leave the hotel the whole weekend, it was wonderful!! I would definitely recommend the Luxe for anyone who wanted to have an intimate event in Los Angeles.

If you are seeking overall value and the most for your money, the Luxe Hotel has economical packages. Moreover, having the ceremony and reception right next to each other was very comfortable.

On the other hand, you are going to have to like the very minimalistic, modern look. I found out the hard way that this venue needs alot of decorations like lighting, ceiling, flowers, etc. to make it feel wedding like. I found the reception area too bare looking and if I had to do it again, I would have definitely hired someone to decorate the reception walls, ceilings, and lighting. The guests did enjoy the open bar though as it was very affordable within our wedding package.

The Luxe hotel was good in terms of location, food, and price. We were able to have open bar at a fraction of the cost of other places we were looking at. However, since the decor is very minimal, one has to spend more money for decorations. In addition, please remind this staff to iron the headtable linens because they didn't and it came out in every picture and video! Fortunately their is photo editing. All in all this venue is affordable for those looking to not spend a fortunate for quality.

We used the PAID hotel shuttle at Luxe Sunset in Los Angeles, CA. I had some issues on our WEDDING DAY with the shuttle arriving very late (about 45-60 minutes). I wrote an email to management addressing my concerns and no response has been received (and I've waited about a month).

I was really disappointed because I had about 30 nights booked for my guests (each room averaging $200)... and even paid for the hotel shuttle to take us to our ceremony site. Missed out on a bunch of photographs because my photographer was waiting at the venue.

They had been very responsive and courteous prior to the event, but once complained about the shuttle to them- SILENCE. This is disappointing.
