  Everything wanted plus so much more

  My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Lupins and Lava. Our wedding and engagement photos exceeded every expectation we had. Our photographer worked so hard to ensure our personalities and love were captured perfectly and that we were relaxed and having FUN the entire time. If you want someone you can trust to go above and beyond, capture your true selves, make your wedding about only you and your love for one another, and someone who truly cares about your desires for your big day, there really is no one better!

  I am genuinely struggling to put into words the appreciation and love I have for Lupins & Lava.

  I am genuinely struggling to put into words the appreciation and love I have for Lupins & Lava. Flowers were incredibly important to my mother and me for my wedding day and when I saw what the team delivered, although it sounds cliche, they were truly beyond my wildest dreams. Becca, the lead florist, was such a pleasure to work with. She was always available for consultation and went above and beyond in terms of customizing my florals to my style, the venue and the season. I truly could not have pictured a more timeless, stunning, playful and creative floral design.
  
  I also want to be sure to emphasize how helpful Becca was during the planning process. It’s so easy to get overwhelmed with choices when planning a wedding and in terms of coming up with unique ideas customized to the space we’d be in – everything she recommended ended up looking absolutely amazing. Especially in the two weeks leading up to the wedding, as the RSVP count fluctuated unpredictably and Hurricane Ian threatened to move the whole affair indoors, drastically changing the table lay-out, Becca was calm, cool and collected and had awesome solutions for everything.
  
  Another thing to note is that we did a mock-up session (a bridal bouquet and centerpiece mock-up) and I’d highly recommend that too. It was a great opportunity to spend some time together, discuss all the options for what’s in season in fall and make adjustments if needed to ensure an awesome outcome on the day-of.
  
  If my ramblings haven’t yet convinced you….seriously, stop looking. You’ve found your florist. You won’t be disappointed.
  
  PS - I am currently in the process of preserving some of my florals so I can enjoy them for many years to come. 🙂So grateful.

  My experience with Lupins and Lava with both photography and florals went beyond all my expectations. I honestly cannot speak highly enough about them! I hired Lupins and Lava to handle all my florals for my wedding. Becca is truly gifted. Her passion and talent are so apparent in her work and you will want it to be a part of your day. I didn't have a specific vision for flowers, like many brides do, and I trusted Lupins and Lava to create something beautiful, and they did... more than I could have even imagined. They made a vision I didn't even know I had come to life and the flowers made our day feel so unique and complete. They are a piece of the day I will never forget because of the amount of care and intention their team put into making them. Not only did they create the most beautiful flowers, but Becca was one of the kindest, most genuine, easy to work with people I have ever met. I truly could not recommend them more! Choosing Lupins and Lava to do my florals was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day! Lupins and Lava's photography is unparalleled when it comes to quality, professionalism, intention, and dependability. You can truly count on them to deliver great photos but they are so easy to get along with. You spend so much of your wedding day with your photographer so trust me when I say their team is a blast to have around. They are definitely full of life and celebratory but I also appreciate them not being over the top or evasive, letting the wedding day flow naturally and feel laid back. Lupins and Lava has such a unique style. People have not stopped talking about how amazing the photos looked and I can't stop looking at them. They truly captured that memories of the day perfectly.   Hire Atalie. That is an order.

  Wow! Atalie is the literal best in the business! She makes you feel so comfortable and beautiful. She encourages gorgeous timeless shots along with the flexibility to make suggestions and be silly. We adored her and the second photographer Luke. What a dream team. You need to hire her. Do it!

  The BEST at capturing the little moments

  My experience with Lupins and Lava was simply wonderful. Our photographer, listened to all my needs and desires for what I wanted our wedding to look like. She made our very, small, intimate ceremony seem like a beautiful dream. I didn't have to worry about being creative on my big day along with every other detail, because she got all the little shots I never would have thought of. She also did an amazing job of incorporating my mom, who passed away a few months prior to the ceremony, into the memories. This company definitely has a way of capturing the moments you didn't even know were the absolute best memories that makes you eternally grateful that they thought to catch it. They also did some fall pictures of my family which were just stunning! They managed to capture our goofiness and love without being cheesy or overbearing. Little did we know, that day would be my mom's last birthday with us. I have those pictures in my living room to this day and remembering her in such a beautiful way means so much to me. Thank you so much Lupins and Lava for all your help capturing some of the most important moments of my life!

  Always always amazing!

  I have absolutely loved working with the Lupins and Lava team. The first time was for my engagement, followed by my wedding. As a bride you are so overwhelmed with all of the big and small details, yet life was made simple and stress free on the day with such an amazing photographer. We were able to enjoy our special day and focus on each other, knowing every important moment was captured. After we received the photos we were in awe! Your wedding day a blip in time that flies by, and being able to see everything through the photos was so exciting.
  
  Fast forward a few years- from engagement, to wedding, and now my maternity photos. I can honestly say all of my important moments in life have been shared with Lupins and Lava! This time they also did floral work specifically for this shoot. Every detail was so intricate in magnifying the baby boy growing inside of me. I never knew something so simple as adding arrangements and nothing else would be so beautiful. You can see the care and love in each picture.

  Wonderful Wedding Photographer!

  Atalie from Lupins and Lava photographed our wedding in Atlanta in mid-June. We are so thrilled with how the photos turned out and spent our wedding day totally relaxed due to Atalie’s professional yet calm and casual demeanor. In planning, I remember being grateful that she was clear and honest about her recommendations for a wedding of our size, and did not simply try to upsell us (which everyone knows is sometimes the case). She effortlessly captured every key moment and a whole list of important family photos and portraits that we asked for. She delivered us a beautiful album of preview shots just two days after the wedding. She is funny, kind and very talented. We couldn’t be happier!

  Don’t Sleep On Lupins and Lava

  Atalie at Lupins and Lava was absolutely perfect! I couldn’t have asked for a better fit for our wedding day, not only did she take beautiful photos that we just love, she was so easy to be with. It’s a big deal to make sure the person you are with the most on your wedding day is a peaceful and happy addition and Atalie was just that! She was so excellent at working with all of our family and friends I would hire her again in a heartbeat. Before the big day she answered all our questions and was very helpful! Don’t pass her up, I’ve worked with A LOT of wedding photographers over the years and I would pick her again and again!

  The only reason I am not giving a rating of 5 stars is due to the lack of communication during the months leading up to our engagement shoot. I found that one-off emails were not the best way to get in contact with Atalie. Setting up a call through her calendar portal is a quick and easy way to capture her full attention. The day before our shoot, Atalie was extremely communicative via text helping me brainstorm and finalize location ideas. She went above and beyond the morning of our shoot when we had the possibility of a last-minute location change.
  
  Where she does deserve 5++++ stars is in her photography and personality. She was so easy to be around and made me and my fiance feel so comfortable in front of the camera. She gives great direction and really knows what she is doing. AND THE PICTURESSSS. I have never gotten so many compliments on any photos in my entire life. I couldn't be happier with the way they turned out. She is TRULY an incredible artist. She was able to send me our sneak peeks a week after our photoshoot and the rest were sent 8 weeks after our shoot.

  Not a great fit for us

  We paid L&L a deposit but ended up canceling 10 months before our wedding. We really value communication & for that reason, decided Lupins & Lava was not the right fit for us.
  
  I first got into contact with L&L a year before our wedding date. Atalie was a JOY to talk to & we loved their galleries. We ended up booking them the next day. Atalie was very communicative and responsive throughout the booking process with any questions we had.
  
  After booking, we wanted to coordinate engagement photos, and Atalie’s response time for email ranged from 1 to almost 4 weeks. During the almost 4 week stretch of not hearing from her, we were concerned we had gotten scammed and started looking into other photographers. Atalie did eventually get back to us (from later phone calls, the miscommunication seems to be that Atalie had saved dates for our engagement, but we felt she never confirmed/was not hearing a response so did not know she had reserved a date for us). We ultimately decided to switch, partly from liking other photographers, but mostly because of these communication issues/not wanting to be stressed about getting into contact closer to our wedding date. Our deposit was not refundable, so it was a difficult decision for us.
  
  We had a couple last phone calls with Atalie to discuss our concerns. She explained the different circumstances/misunderstandings that affected her communication and that L&L was planning on hiring someone to help with email. She also offered a free engagement session or do a partial refund of our deposit, $350/$1000. We felt uncomfortable with these offers & told her we did not want money and would not write a review. However, on more reflection, we thought there should be some form of accountability for future clients. We wanted a full refund (which L&L felt was not fair from time they spent on communication & dates they held for us & we understand). Our last request was $350 refund, with the additional refund if L&L got booked by another couple on the date they had saved for us & have not heard back. Our intent with this review is not to turn couples away from L&L, as their photos and other reviews are wonderful, but to help future couples have clearer expectations than we had.
