Great Desserts!

I ordered an assortment of desserts for my small wedding of 25 people. Paulette the event planner was great at suggesting options and quantities that would work for us. The desserts themselves were excellent, especially the lemon bars!

Paulette and Kyle were wonderful. Paulette was extremely helpful throughout the planning process from selecting the food to helping us think about all of the details. Kyle and his staff were on site the night of the wedding and the dinner was seamless, the food was excellent and the presentation lovely. I highly recommend working with Paulette at Lunds & Byerly's catering!

We cannot say enough about both the catering staff and overall quality at Lunds & Byerlys.

Our wedding venue allowed us the opportunity to pick any caterer, they recommended a few, and Lunds & Byerlys was quickly at the top of our list. We cannot express how great their staff was throughout the entire process. From sitting down and meeting with us on more than one occasion, to making a specific visit to our wedding venue as they had not catered there before and wanted to get ahead of as many details as possible before the big day. Their attention to detail was above and beyond anything we expected.

Having Kyle present there the day of our wedding was better than having a wedding day coordinator. He and his staff were courteous, professional, and a joy to be around. They made our guests feel welcome, took care of every last detail, made sure we were well taken care of all night long, and kept everything running effortlessly.

And of course, the food was excellent. Whenever we see someone who attended our wedding they always mention how delicious the food was in addition to what a great time they had. We couldn't have been happier with Lunds & Byerlys and will undoubtedly book them for any future events.

The cake was excellent! Everyone raved about it and had more than one piece (but we did not run out). The marble cake with chocolate ganache was the biggest hit! They took the pictures we provided and made perfect matches!

I am using the East Side St. Paul location of Lunds & Byerly's. Their pastry chef, Fhoua, was incredible during our cake tasting! She immediately understood my vision and did a wonderful job providing an explanation about why I could not have some specific elements of my cake exactly the way I wanted them. For example, the buttercream frosting would slide right off the cake. This is something that 12 other bakers did not explain to me when they simply said "we don't do that" or "it can't be done that way." Fhoua also provided a GREAT solution so that I could have the cake of my dreams without the frosting sliding off the side! She was the first person I talked to that said "I love it, I can do this for you!" I am so happy that I found her to make a beautiful creation for my wedding.

We ordered wedding sheet cake from Byerlys. It was so beautiful and tasted great too! It was so affordable and a great addition to our tiered cake. The person at the counter helped me pick out colors and a design that would work with my wedding. I would definitely recommend Byerlys sheet cake to anyone on a budget!

We love cake and when we tried Byerlys white with almond flavoring cake, we were sold! We had people asking us where we got the cake. Someone even said they never eat wedding cake, but they loved ours! A number of people said they ate two pieces! We were very pleased and are enjoying the left overs. Lisa at Byerlys on Ruth St was always responsive to questions and changes. She was very easy to work with. We highly recommend Byerly's cake!

I worked with Katie, who recently became the head pastry chef at Byerly's in St Louis Park, to get the wedding cakes. I went in (planning a MN wedding from TX, with my parents as tasters) with the vague notion that I wanted a smaller cake on every table (and an unrealistic idea of how much to spend). She met with my parents and they all took lots of notes, then she made time to see me and give me samples when I was able to visit Minneapolis on fairly short notice. She clearly explained all the options for cakes, fillings, frostings, and toppings. We picked out plain chocolate, plain vanilla, and carrot cake.

The catering department was a little confusing when it came time to delivery - we needed someone to come to the venue and set up the cakes, which got passed on incorrectly as needing someone to stay at the venue and serve the cakes (quite expensive!). It was ironed out quickly, though, and we were grateful to have someone set the cakes out on the tables because the catering staff at the venue wouldn't do it.

Everyone at the wedding LOVED the cakes, said they were so tender and tasty, and they loved having different flavors on different tables. I am besotted with the chocolate cake and frosting (would happily eat a bowl of it), the carrot cake was gone in a flash, and guests ate up almost all the vanilla cakes. Not only do I recommend them, I plan on returning to the St Louis Park Lunds and Byerly's next time I'm in MN for more of their cakes!

I had my cupcakes and cutting cake done by the Burnsville location and my baker Abbey did a wonderful job and I was soooooo impressed with the cutting cake. Delicious too, not dry at all.

We went through the Burnsville, MN Byerly's for our cake. They met with us and gave us different samples of options of cakes and frosting.

We were able to do everything in one day, brought in the ribbon, picked the cake shape and it was an amazing cake! We made it three layers, each layer being different and one being filled as well!

I thought getting a cake from a grocery store was a little weird but Lund's isn't your normal grocery store. I've been in love with their cupcakes for years now, so we ended up getting several flavors of cupcakes and a small cake that served 42 so we would have something to cut. The cake looked Awesome. I brought in what I wanted and they did exactly that! I'm sad we had to cut it it was so elegant!

Lemoncello is the bomb. That was our cake flavor...we also got some lemoncello cupcakes, strawberry cream cupcakes, Chocolate raspberry cupcakes, and some carrot cake cupcakes. Everyone loved them.

We used to Lund's in uptown just off of Hennepin and they did a wonderful job. They gave us like...at least 10 different kinds of cupcakes to take home to taste test, which was awesome. Pretty much anything we wanted to try, they just gave us a massive cupcake to try. The head cake designer there is so nice, too.

Oh, and they are cheap! I think it was like...$450 for all my cupcakes and cake with the upgrade from just standard cake to more "fancy, deluxe" options. I love a good deal! They also let you use their cupcake stand and just make you put a security deposit down on it instead of having to pay for it...then give you 30 days to bring it back!

Would totally recommend them! We were very happy with our decision- use the uptown location!!!

We ordered cupcakes and could not be happier with our choice! Phoua is a fantastic pastry chef, and will consult with you tirelessly, paying attention to the details. Everyone loved the cupcakes and all the leftovers were taken home!

After trying tons of local bakeries I got a Byerls cake and it was by far the best. The icing is fantastic and the chocolate cake is moist and rich. One of our tiers also had marble cake with chocolate fudge filling which was for sure a guest favorite. I also had a very specific decoration request that was executed flawlessly.
I would recommend them for any bakery needs!

We wanted to keep the cost of the wedding cake to a minimum. We decided to go with a simple round cake for the cake topper to sit on and for us to cut, then we ordered a sheet cake for the guests. We went with white cake, lemon filling and while frosting. This complimented our italian food beautifully. The no-pressure cake tasting, service, delivery and quality was exactly what I associate with Byerly's and have come to expect and appreciate. We did not have a large cake budget but Byerly's work with us and helped us get the cake of our dreams!

We did our wedding cakes from Byerlys in St. Cloud. We knew that we wanted individual cakes for each table so Len Voigt ( the baker) suggested to us that we do different flavors of cake. it was such a hit! we made the mistake of telling people before our speeches about the cake that everyone was up and going from table to table to get different kinds of cake. so many of our guests stayed longer because they would start talking with different groups of people as they were getting cake! the cakes were absoluly beautiful as well as AMAZING to eat!

The bakery made a Norwegian wedding cake (krensekaga) for our wedding. It turned out and tasted amazing. I would highly recommend them for this type of cake.

Byerly's catering was great! They were on time, the food (individual box lunches) were delicious and my requests for certain items to be left in or added were done correctly. All of the reps in the catering office were prompt and helpful with their responses, highly recommended!

My husband and I were on a budget, so we knew that we could skimp a little on the cake by getting sheet cakes, rather than an expensive cake to display. The bakery at Byerly's was nice, proffessional and helpful. They told us the size cakes we would need, and never tried to get us to do more than what we wanted.

We used Simple to Grand catering for our wedding reception. We were absolutely delighted with how everything went.

The reception site--an art gallery--was a challenging space (to say the least). Imagine no kitchen, sink, tables, chairs or utensils! They handled it all gracefully. They arranged an excellent menu with us, figured out everything we needed to rent, arranged rentals and gave us great ideas along the way. They communicated well and handled all last minute details.

Even though it was a challenging space, they never complained. Instead they handled everything with a smile and a positive attitude. They were professional, helpful and flexible. They were aware of everything that needed to be done and did it before having to be asked. Our guests raved about the service.

The food was delicious! The chef did an excellent job keeping everything hot without drying out. It was seasoned well and looked superb on the buffet table.

Lunds and Byerlys Catering also did our cake, which was a huge hit. Our photographer said it was one of the best cakes hes seen, our guests were asking for seconds and we believe it is one of the tastiest cakes weve had.

We also appreciated the affordability of the food, liquor and service.

We wholeheartedly recommend Lunds and Byerlys Catering.

I found a cake in a wedding magazine that looked like tiffany's boxes stacked on top of one another and then had huge ribbons that overlapped the layers. The staff at Byerlys recreated the cake from the picture and it looked amazing. Both women I worked with were really energetic and seemed to have fun with trying out a new design. The cake was delicious ( alternating layers of vanilla and chocolate) and was much less expensive then their competitors.

LOVED the cake. Looked amazing and was such a great value compared to other locations that we got a quote from. Only complaint is there was a small element that we asked for that was missing from the cake. When we met with the baker we selected a cake that was previously made with a few changes and this was just a small element that was missed. It was a 4 tier birch log cake with our initials ingraved in a heart on the 3rd tier. We wanted wood grain on the top of each tier but that was missing. It did not impact the cake at all and the only people that knew it was missing was myself and my husband. Cake was great too :)

This was a great choice for a wedding cake because our reception was small and i did not want the traditional wedding cake with marsipan. I just wanted something that looked classy and tasted yummy!

We ordered our wedding cake through Byerly's in Roseville, MN. It was SOOO awesome. It was definitely more money that I thought it would be, but I ordered a VERY non-traditional custom cake. A three-tier square cake with offset tiers and different geometric patterns on each tier. No white, and no flowers. Square cakes are the most expensive at Byerly's but it turned out amazing. They delivered it to the reception hall. Everyone commented on how the cake was "so us" and how cool it was. Also, that it tasted really good. They only offer chocolate, white, or marble. So if you want a specialty flavor with filling, Byerly's isn't the place... but if you're looking for convenience and total customization... Byerly's was great.

The cake was delicious, even though we did have a problem with the filling. The filling lacked the fresh strawberries that we paid extra money for and when we contacted Byerly's after the wedding, they refunded all of the money. Even with the mix up, the cake was delicious. I would highly recommend it, we got sheet cakes and had a chocolate fountain, instead of a giant cake. It was a hit!

I went to a couple different bakeries that I read on Wedding Wire and wanted the "Wedding Cake Tasting Experience" that I have heard so many times. My MIL and I went out to a well known high-end bakery and were not impressed by the professionalism and flexibility that I was looking for. I wanted a dessert table with many different options and the baker (that owned the shop) had a couple of things for us to taste and told us he could make all the desserts we were asking for but only gave us samples of white and chocolate cake. After going to Byerly's and setting up a meeting, the baker was all ready with every dessert they offered, cake and frosting. When we inquired about something she talked it out with us and sketched out examples, Pintrest pics, etc. We left the meeting with a ton of weight off our shoulders. They delivered the desserts on the day of no problem and everyone enjoyed the options of different bars, tarts, cookies, and cakes.

We used Lunds & Byerlys for a cake for our wedding. It was a wonderful cake, but the baker works odd hours and can be a little hard to reach occasionally. Otherwise, she was very helpful and accommodating!

We ordered cupcakes in bulk for our wedding. We got three flavors and they decorated them with a yellow rose on top for free. Everyone loved the cupcakes, and had no idea they were from a grocery store. Great option for our budget, and they were delicious (really moist)!

The catering team was great! I was able to tell them exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it and it couldn't have turned out better. My guests made many wonderful comments on both my 2 tiered 6x8 round cake and the mini cupcakes of a variety of flavors.

For our wedding cake, we decided to order cupcakes from Byerly's and I made a "topper" cake to the cupcake tower. The value for cost is probably the best you'll find out there and they taste great! The color of the frosting was matched perfectly to our wedding color (chocolate brown and light green). Since we didn't opt for a cake, there wasn't a need to go into detailed discussions on the design, etc. Professional and everything was delivered on time and as expected. I would highly recommend them!

We used Lunds and Byerlys for the cupcakes at our recent wedding, and we had rave reviews from our guests. We were able to sample many different flavors, and ended up going with a "candy bar" flavored theme for each of our cupcakes. The best part was that they looked as good as they tasted!!

Byerlys is a great place to order your wedding cake. We considered some of the specialty shops but couldn't pass up the great prices at Byerlys - plus their cakes taste great! We ended up ordering chocolate with raspberry, and white with lemon, but we have also been to weddings that used Byerlys regular white cake. They all taste great and look wonderful.

We used the Byerlys in Edina for our wedding cake. We chose to have a small round cake for just the wedding party, and two different sheet cakes for the rest of the guests.

The cake was delivered on time and as promised. It was delivered by Byerlys catering, and the delivery fee was only about $30. Since we were planning the wedding from out of state, sometimes it was hard to get in touch with the wedding cake person at the Byerlys.

The only thing that I wasn't happy with was the decorations on our small cake. The pattern I had chosen was correct, but the sample cake pictures had flowers on top and ours did not. In retrospect I should have verified that it came with the extra decorations instead of assuming they would be included. The cake still looked fine and tasted good though.

Was great until I returned my cake stand for a refund, and they debited my account again.
We got it straightened out, but it was a PITA.

I loved the cake. My only frustration is that the cake decorators at Byerly's have really early hours and they don't work everyday. It's difficult to schedule a meeting.

Byerly's was very friendly in ordering my wedding cake and very flexible to have it customed to what I wanted. The cake was beautiful and very tasty!

We would rate Lunds and Byerly's middle of the road when it came to the food at our wedding. When we looked at the menu online, and met with the caterer beforehand, everything looked delicious. However, when it came to the actual day, service was slow, they didn't have enough staff on hand, and the food was mediocre. It ended up tasting like every other meal you would have at a wedding. I will say this: the cake was wonderful! So, if you're looking at Lunds and Byerly's for anything - skip the food, and go for the cake!
