She is an excellent communicator to both her clients and vendors, and always has a plan A, B, C, or more! We hired Shannon for partial planning for our wedding, and our biggest regret is not hiring her sooner in our planning process. I was one of those people that said, “we don’t need a planner, I’m super organized, I love planning, we’ll be fine,” and I was wrong!
We initially met with Shannon to discuss day-of coordination, after which we quickly pivoted to partial planning. There is so much more involved in planning that makes a wedding one of a kind, and a planner with working knowledge of the local vendor scene and a portfolio of successful weddings under her belt is so worth the investment.
Shannon made everything incredibly easy and fun. We’d share half-baked ideas or vague goals, and she would translate them into creative, concrete plans and suggestions. She brought a fresh perspective, endless solutions, and a calm, joyful energy to every conversation. Our wedding ended up being stress-free, deeply personal, and honestly unforgettable thanks in huge part to her.
Even now, two months later, we’re still getting messages from guests saying it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. That’s Shannon’s magic at work! She kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes while also elevating the entire experience.
What really set Shannon apart was how invested she was in our experience and how much fun she had with us. She wasn’t just checking boxes and yes-manning, but actively planning with us, offering informed suggestions, introducing us to the right vendors, telling us what not to do (!!), setting up surprises, and designing and executing our signage, seating chart, and overall décor. By that time, Shannon knew us, our style, and our likes and wants so well that it was easy enough to just say “hell yeah” to anything she proposed.
I can’t overstate easy and fun this experience was with Shannon. It makes me want to get married all over again just typing this. If you're planning a wedding, especially in the Charlottesville area, do yourself the biggest favor you can and hire her. Her deep knowledge of local vendors (their styles, pricing, strengths, availability, etc.) alone is worth it, and if you want a planner who will actually make the process enjoyable, that planner should be Shannon. -

Shannon was invaluable on our wedding day, particularly in handling the fact that our wedding happened to occur in the midst of some hurricane-aftermath weather. Her organizational skills kept everything running smoothly as she had a plan for all occasions, while her calm confidence helped maintain a stress-free atmosphere on the day of. She also helped out a lot in helping us wade through our options for party rentals, making her experience clear throughout.
On the day of, she managed several unexpected situations efficiently and discreetly, ensuring the day flowed seamlessly for everyone involved. She kept us running from event to event on time, even staying back to pack things up and organize with our team—and making sure to rush us onto the bus to make the after party.

Dream Elopement in Italy
We contacted Shannon after our original wedding planner unexpectedly quit on us 9 months prior to our wedding. Shannon was very kind and helpful with ensuring us that we still had time to plan and execute our dream wedding. We had a special request of helping us plan a destination elopement in Positano- Italy. Shannon was very transparent with us, saying that she specialized in US weddings, but had a special connection in Italy. She said that she felt comfortable planning it for us with her familiarity with the country and region of our requested ceremony. Shannon quickly began bringing our vision to life and connecting us with a team in Italy. Shannon was great at keeping an open and quick line of communication for all our questions and requests. She ensured that the elopement package in Italy had all of our requests and more. Even though she was not physically with us on our wedding day, she ensured that all of the logistics were taken care of and checked in with us that week and the day of. She really helped make the wedding of our dreams come to fruition. We are so thankful to Shannon for all of her help, expertise, guidance, Italy tips, and excitement throughout the entire process. -

My husband and I recommend Shannon at LuLumination Creative very highly. We just wish we could go back and attend our wedding as a guest just to see it all again. Shannon and her team made sure that we were well taken care of and directed in a way that allowed us to really enjoy the event and our guests. I was a DIY Bride but was able to be assured and hands off throughout wedding weekend thanks to Shannon. With essentially THREE different venues, we really put her to work. She and her team made everything appear seamless to us and our guests. Everything went by so fast, as we imagined it would, but we can still look back and appreciate every detail. We don't have a single negative thing to say, working with Shannon was comforting and efficient the whole way through - even with all of our last minute changes :) Thank you so much from both of us and everyone who has raved to us since! -

My wife, Katie, and I worked with Shannon to put on our wedding at King Family Vineyard in May 2024. Our wedding turned out perfectly and Shannon at LuLumination was one of the main reasons why! She never missed a beat emailing us to make sure we were on track to have all our vendors booked and our invitations sent. Shannon has an excellent network and knows all the best Vendors for wedding and events around the Charlottesville area. She also offered high quality recommendations on the aesthetics and design decisions for our wedding (including tablecloths, table settings, floral arrangements) so we had a beautiful and consistent lavender theme throughout our decorations. Shannon wasn't just a huge asset in helping us make the major decisions, she also went above and beyond to help us finalize the minor details - she designed and printed beautiful signage for our rehearsal dinner and wedding. Given her substantial experience and work with soo many weddings, she also is great at generating fresh ideas for fun twists to add to your event. For example, she recommended having "fathead" signs printed of our beloved pets to hold up on the dance floor and this was a hugely popular touch that gave all of our guests a good laugh. Its also worth mentioning that Shannon was incredibly good at communicating. She would text or email us back very promptly and her messages were also well organized and to the point.
We were already blown away by Shannon and how helpful she was with wedding planning, but the best was yet to come. Shannon worked incredibly hard on our wedding day as our "day of" coordinator. Every event on our timeline was done right on time and went smoothly thanks to careful preparation and leadership by Shannon. The actual day of our wedding felt almost effortless for my wife and I because Shannon made sure we were where we needed to be. This meant the world because it gave us the space to really enjoy the moment without having to stress about the logistics. I can't emphasize enough how much effort Shannon put into making sure we had the perfect day. She really cares about her clients and strives to go above and beyond! I would give Shannon at LuLumination 6/5 stars if I could. -

Lulumination Review
Shannon was a pleasure to work with. She saw our vision immediately and aligned our plans with that vision every step of the way. There were countless vendor selections and choices that needed to be made along the way and Shannon was able to nudge us in the right direction for all of them. She was communicative and detail oriented and somehow able to juggle a million things at once and still stay focused on the priorities. I was honestly amazed at how she was able to pull together a last minute rain plan, coordinating with us and the vendors to make sure we still had an AMAZING reception. We had quite the untraditional music festival themed wedding at a psychedelic art museum. She was able to break the mold of normal wedding styles and suggest creative ideas that fit with our vision. Everyone that came to the wedding absolutely loved all the nice touches all around that made it feel like we were truly at a festival. From a music festival poster to wristbands, food trucks, face painting, dancers, fire breathing performers, and 3 different musical acts. It was truly a night to remember. She even surprised us with a few very nice final touches like a wedding cake piñata that not only fit the theme but was a crowd favorite! I can’t say enough about how amazing it was to put this on with somebody that was aligned with my vision and had the experience and means to pull it all off while keeping the budget in mind. It was absolutely perfect and I’d definitely recommend Shannon to anyone! -

We came to Shannon with an impossible task - pull together our wedding in just 3 weeks after a last minute Venue change - and she delivered! She was available to answer my texts late into the night - handling all my questions, troubleshooting, and just being the voice of calm I needed when wedding stress got the best of me. Shannon guided us with buffet menu selection at our new venue, decor consultation, sourcing an available photographer within our budget. She went above & beyond while setting up the table decor and transformed the "Rain Plan" space into a ceremony site I was pleased with when in fact, we did need to move the ceremony indoors because of bad weather (freak Spring Snow!) There is no doubt that Shannon saved our wedding and we're eternally grateful for all her hard work, insider advice, and much needed pep talks. You'll be so thankful to have her in your corner on your big day. -

Shannon was wonderful to work with. We looked had phone calls with a few coordinators before making our choice - but the choice was clear. I knew she would be great because she asked specific questions about out wedding and out ideas during our intake call, and asked about considerations for merging our two cultures in the ceremony. She gave the impression that she was not pandering to us during the intake just to get another sale. She shared her personality with us from the start (which we love) so we knew we could trust her to give us real feedback to make the wedding as fun as possible. She made what is supposed to be the most stressful time of the wedding somehow more relaxing. Highly recommend. -

A huge thank you to Shannon and her incredible team at Lulumination for helping plan and coordinate our wedding! With 5 location changes throughout the day, we were a bit nervous about how everything would flow, but Shannon's expertise and attention to detail made the entire day run seamlessly. She created a fabulous timeline that covered absolutely everything we could need, and her knowledge and organization gave us the confidence to enjoy every moment. Creating Magic
With absolutely great service, and the ability to adapt on the fly, this wedding would’ve never been as great as it was without the amazing work of our wedding coordinator Shannon. She brought incredible skill as well as the ability to handle, conflict, resolution, and the craziness that comes with any wedding. From helping us find vendors when things fell through, to creating a great environment for my wife’s wedding vision to thrive. She helped make our day absolutely magical and would highly recommend her services to anyone. We cannot thank her enough! -

We hired Shannon to come up with Signature Cocktails that fit our location (apple orchard) and had a lot of flavor/character to complement our menu and overall Fall theme. She really delivered! We got a handful of options to choose from that had easy-to-follow recipes and mock up photos of what each drink should look like to give to our bar staff. After we narrowed it down, we got a detailed shopping list for what liquor and mixers we needed to serve our 100+ guests. Her estimates were right on target!
We chose a Sugar Hollow Bourbon berry smash and a Carmel Apple party punch. They were both so delicious and guests loved them. We're so glad we added a unique detail to our cocktail hour. The value for the service is great.
PS. I'm due for a baby next Spring and will have Shannon do a mocktail bar for my shower - I can't wait! -
