Luke was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Communication was always timely and thoughtful, and they made the entire process feel easy and stress-free. They took the time to truly get to know us as a couple, our story, our values, and the tone we hoped to set for our ceremony. Because of this, every part of the service felt incredibly personal and meaningful, not just something read from a script. Throughout the planning process, expectations were clear and guidance was supportive, which helped us feel confident and prepared. They offered helpful suggestions, encouraged us to make the ceremony our own, and ensured that everything flowed naturally. On the day of the wedding, their presence was warm, calm, and engaging. They spoke beautifully, brought the perfect mix of sincerity and joy, and made the moment feel intimate even in front of all our guests. Many of our friends and family commented on how touching and genuine the ceremony felt. My husband and I truly could not be happier with how everything came together. Luke was a pleasure to work with. He provided so many examples of scripts he's done in the past and we were able to build off of those. We had two calls with Luke prior to the wedding (30 minutes max each time) so he could get an idea of what we wanted. On the wedding day, he showed up early and did amazing job during the ceremony. Mr. Luke Poling was such a pleasure! He is open to hearing about you as a couple AND as individuals. We did not get to meet Luke in person, as we had a destination wedding but felt as if we knew him and had solely based on emails back and forth with him throughout our planning processes. He is so very open minded to all types of ceremonies. He asked us to share with him our story to get to know each of us better, where we come from, what our personalities are together and separately, etc. We provided that PLUS some ( And I would suggest to all brides and grooms to be wordy. It is better to say more than less when it comes to wedding planning and the people you hire!) Luke sent us what he called a "start" or rough draft to vows for us he had written. Upon receiving that email and the first read, the second read and yep the third too! I cried.. AND the fiance cried. It could be said that we were partial, but they are the BEST vows I have ever heard, and I have been to MANYYYY weddings. Luke took our story and who we are and wrote a masterpiece. It was REAL, RAW, HONEST, MEANINFUL AND FUNNY! Not one thing consisted of the "typical" vows you so often hear, but everyword drenched in more reality and substance. So original, different and deep. My fiance (now husband) and I couldn't believe it was just "The rough draft." And, honestly both of us said with what Luke wrote we did NOT need to say anymore to each other. He magically made our vows into what we WOULD have said, personally. There were NO changes needed at all to this "rough draft" although Luke was more than willing to take on suggestions, add in's or cut outs as we both might have saw fit. None needed. Utter perfection. A couple of weeks before our wedding my fiance and I decided we would say just a couple of "personal" vows/ kind words to each other. Fiance was super nervous. I was not. Fiance showed Luke his vows to make sure the flow was ok and the length went well with the rest of the ceremony that Luke put together for us. Luke gave his approval. Amidst all the things that happens with a Bride the day of, I was unable to show Luke my own personal words. In the end, it didn't matter- I had to wing it. I had forgotten my vow book in the dressing suite. (Oops. I did well though. The fiance had magically written just about the same things I had and thankfully he went first- did SO WELL considering how nervous he had been and his words helped me to remember my own.) Luke is lighthearted, laid back, humorous, professional, kind, open-minded and such an ease to be around. His presence calming and his direction on things, stellar. He had given Scott and I one suggestion before our ceremony. That there are many moments when the ceremony can become very emotional, even if you don't or have never planned on it, aren't the "type." It is JUST FINE that emotions take over. IF we felt when speaking to each other that those emotions were stirring to try and remember to start to speak LOWER, for when (and if) those natural emotions start, trying to control your volume helps to maintain them. Speaking louder (speaking OVER your emotions) can sometimes make it all worse. In my pre- ceremony bliss, I somehow hung onto his words, honestly feeling that would not happen to me. I was wrong. LOL. When the tears started to make themselves known, the one thing I remembered were his smart and kind words of advice before our ceremony, and I did what he said. It sure did help stop the flow of tears. Luke, if you read this, thank you for the words of advice on that. We are forever grateful for your talent, your writing, the way you make OUR day OURS. No textbook readings, so real, raw and honest. We can only promise each other certain things in life and in marriage, you took our views and our beliefs and made magic. You are creative, kind, considerate and so open minded. We are lucky to have had you be a part of our day, and forever a huge part of our lives.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Apologies for the high humidity that day as well. The rain stopped, but the aftermath was that heat! Just like marriage, there will good with the bad. That's life. :-)

It was a pleasure to work with Luke! My husband and I were looking for a shorter, non-religious ceremony that we could customize. Luke offered many different examples and helped us create a ceremony that was perfect for us. I also liked that we could reach out to him for suggestions as much as needed (as some officiants only offer a limited number of edits). We also had an interruption during our ceremony that Luke handled with grace. I can't recommend him enough! -

We had the pleasure of working with Luke twice – first, as the officiant for our minimony in 2020, and then as officiant of our vow-renewal in 2021. Luke was wonderful – very down-to-earth and flexible. He listened carefully to what we were looking for and worked with us to put together a beautiful minimony ceremony and vow renewal ceremony. He even came up with clever ways to incorporate quotes from our favorite books. We had multiple guests come up to us to say good things about the ceremony later – which, if you’ve been to a wedding before, doesn’t usually happen! Luke was also extremely professional – highly responsive via email, prompt, and familiar with all of the intricacies of a wedding ceremony (e.g., making announcements for an unplugged ceremony; stepping away to let the photographer get a picture of the couple’s first kiss; etc. ). We are so glad we found Luke and would highly recommend him to other couples, especially those seeking a non-religious ceremony (though he also does religious ceremonies – it’s up to you).Luke Poling's reply:

Luke was so helpful and organized from start to finish. I was unsure exactly what I wanted with our ceremony. We hired Luke to be our officiant. Everything sort of crept up on us, and we wound up hiring him very late in the game. Even so he was so accommodating, and understanding. He was willing to work with us to create exactly the ceremony we wanted, and was always so patient even though it was last minute for us. Wonderful experience!
Luke was so easy to work with! And I didn't make it easy. We pulled a small wedding together in about 20 days. We were having an outdoor ceremony in the woods in January. I gave him information about us (our spiritual beliefs, our preference for a non-traditional ceremony, wording we wanted to include, etc.) and he got to work. He shared scripts with us which we found very useful and worked together to come up with our vows. My husband and I couldn't have been any happier with our ceremony. He helped make our day stress-free. He's easy going and professional. I highly recommend Luke if your looking for an officiant for your special day. -

When planning our ceremony, Joe + I weren't sure where to start. We both wanted a fairly non-traditional ceremony, and had our own unique vision of what we both wanted - and more importantly, what we did NOT want - as part of our nuptials! We found Luke on Wedding Wire, and based on his description of service, reached out.. From there, we were met with professionalism, flexibility, kindness, and a super open-mind. All things we knew we needed to feel comfortable on our wedding day.
Luke provided us with templates to consider when writing our vows and our ceremony, and assisted in the finessing of the program once we gave it a first draft. We met once, and he was accommodating in where to meet + was super nice when we sat down to chat!
He showed up on time, dapper as can be, on the day of our wedding and smoothly filled out all necessary paperwork without us needing to blink an eye. He was flexible during the ceremony, even when our dog (who was, yes - in the wedding) decided to be a little excited! His service was top notch, affordable, and I would recommend to all!
