We are so thankful that Lucy Black Entertainment was able to make our mountain wedding ceremony dreams come true! They not only agreed to our idea but were excited to meet our unique request of having a violinist on the mountain at sunset for our small wedding ceremony. They were flexible during the whole process and were transparent and efficient with communication. They guided us through the whole process to make sure the experience was exactly what we were hoping for. On the day of our wedding, the team was amazing and the performance made our ceremony all the more special. -

Absolutely Incredible!
We loved Lucy Black Entertainment for our August wedding. They provided lighting for our reception, mics for the ceremony and of course the most important pieces: string musicians for the ceremony (who even learned a Persian song my husband wanted to walk down the aisle to!) and Lucy Black Luxe (and 2 horns) for the band. Our guests had the absolute best time (even getting on the floor during dinner for an unplanned dance session) and we loved how fun and amazing the band was. We would absolutely recommend Lucy Black Entertainment and Lucy Black Luxe for all weddings! -

Incredible!
Saw Lucy Black Luxe at a friend’s wedding in 2019 and have wanted to use them for our wedding ever since! We found them super easy to work with and responsive! So grateful the band was able to learn 3 songs for us and did an incredible job with each. The band was incredible and brought all of the energy to the dance floor. Have gotten so many rave reviews from our guests! -

Rebecca and her team were beyond amazing. It is two weeks since my daughter’s wedding and the band is still the talk of the town. People danced all night - even people who have never danced at a wedding before. BEST BAND EVER is what everyone is saying - and I agree. The band is fun, engaged and sounds fantastic. Best decision. -

The Lucy Black Luxe was the BEST Decision We Made!
For our November 2022 wedding, aside from the venue, Lucy Black Ent was the first vendor we booked! After watching their promo video, they truly stood out from any other band on the DC market. From their soulful and authentic sound to working the vendor contract with Lauren (who is literally the sweetest human), choosing them really was a no brainer. On the management side, we were able to completely customize our services for the day of the wedding and Lauren made a point to work with our budget (which was another huge reason why we went with them -- quality customer service is very important to us). We opted to have Lucy Black provide ceremony music and then selected the Lucy Black Luxe Band for the dinner and reception. Our one request was we wanted the band to be interactive with the crowd, and they truly exceeded our expectations. The band was on the floor with our guests, dancing, and kept the energy up all night. Everyone was out on the dance floor, and the most compliments we recieved from our wedding was from just how amazing the band was. You could tell every member of that band was truly all in the moment with our guests. Major thanks to Lauren who was so easy going, flexible,kind, and made sure all of our questions and comments were addressed. We took our music selection very seriously --- in our opinion, it makes or breaks a wedding. Lucy Black Luxe literally TORE the house down and it was without a double one of the best decisions we made! If I could plan another event just to book them again, I would! Truly masters at their craft and a joy to have at our wedding. Thank you thank you thank you! One things for sure, you have gained some new groupies :)! -

The Lucy Black Luxe band was EVERYTHING!!! They truly made our wedding the most fun it possibly could have been, and I have received more compliments and comments about the band than anything else over the whole wedding weekend. We're so grateful for how helpful Lauren was with planning and coordinating and just overall making sure our timeline and events went off without a hitch. We're so grateful to have had the chance to work with their team, and will be recommending LBE to everyone we know!! -

The number one thing we heard after our wedding was about how amazing the band was. Lucy Black Luxe was the hit of the night - they do NOT disappoint. Three weeks out we are STILL getting calls about how much people loved our band, and they were able to play all the music we wanted and kept the party going until the very end of the night. -

Lucy Black Entertainment was an amazing choice from Day 1. We had a phone call with them where we talked about the vibe we wanted for the night. Then, they gave us several options for musicians. We ended up getting a guitar for the ceremony, a string quartet for cocktail hour, and Lucy Black Lux for the reception. Each of these artists nailed exactly what we wanted and Lucy Black made sure that things ran smoothly. We even changed things last minute and it wasn't a problem at all. We had an incredible experience and I highly recommend them! -

If you are looking for the premier music artists, look no further than Lucy Black Entertainment (LBE). From the initial call with Lauren, a co-owner, to the end of the wedding night, LBE truly delivered. Lauren was always available to hop on a call to iron out any questions we had or work through our vision in how the evening looked like. We had gone back and forth between the “Lucy Black Luxe” Band and other bands they offer but we (collectively as the couple and all the guests) were extremely happy with how the band performed their hearts out! The artists were absolutely amazing and a delight to watch. We also hired their DC String Machine for our ceremony music and their Jazz Ensemble for our cocktail hour, both equally so talented! If you haven’t seen the the Luxe Band’s promo video, go check it out. You will be just blown away with their artistic talent. We also loved how the singers engaged with the crowd, rather than just “doing their job (of singing)”. It was so personable and we loved it so much. LBE will offer a true bespoke experience for your entertainment needs! -

My husband and I hired Lucy Black Entertainment for our wedding in fall 2021. They were nothing short of AMAZING. From the first phone call until the day of my wedding they remained both professional and accommodating. I love that they offered customized entertainment packages that fit your individual needs. They were patient as we worked through details and made last minute changes for my wedding I planned in five months! Communication was always clear and thorough. Although, weddings picked up drastically this year, I never felt like just another client. They always appeared genuine and concerned about making my day special. They have a diverse team of performers that will fit any wedding theme. I felt completely comfortable leaving all of my entertainment needs in their hands. I approached my wedding day with confidence and I was not disappointed. My guest raved about how smooth and seamless the music and speaking was throughout my wedding. Their staff were all pleasant and friendly. They came dressed appropriately for the occasion and were professional from beginning to end. I can’t say enough great stuff about this company. Just hire them I promise you won’t be disappointed!! -

Lucy Black Luxe band was a true highlight of our wedding!! "That band was amazing!" has been a common comment we've heard from just about every wedding guest and we couldn't agree more. The band was everything we hoped they would be and more - they played super fun songs that kept the dance floor packed all night long. We especially appreciated how thoughtful the Lucy Black team was in the planning phase of asking us a lot of questions about what kind of music we wanted at the wedding so that the band could plan their set to fit our crowd. We also had DC String Machine play during our ceremony and cocktail hour and they were also a huge hit. From start to finish, working with the Lucy Black Entertainment team was a great experience and we highly recommend them! -

The Lucy Black team was the absolute best to work with! They were SO organized and on top of it, and helped us select a fantastic DJ (DJ Aria, who we also recommend!) to have the first massive dance party our (vaccinated) guests got to have once restrictions eased! 100% recommend. -

Lucy Black Entertainment is the BEST in the game!! They do not just deliver entertainment, they deliver an experience that is curated to your specific event needs. Rebecca and Lauren are such a joy to work with! So easy to talk to and they listen to your needs and come up with the best ideas to make it a memorable experience.
Music was one of the most important elements for my client’s wedding and they delivered above and beyond. They created custom arrangements for the ceremony and timed it so perfectly as she walked down the aisle, it was magical!! And the energy throughout the cocktail hour was exactly what the couple envisioned, and I received compliments throughout the evening from guests and family at the wedding.
The entire Lucy Black team were extremely accommodating, professional, personable, and soooo talented! Everything was PERFECT and I cannot wait to work with them again and again!! I highly recommend them for your wedding or special event, you will be so glad to have them! -

Amazing team, incredible experience, and great band!
Honestly, I can't describe how amazing Rebecca & Lauren were throughout the wedding planning process. They were a joy to work with, and they were willing to share their invaluable expertise about wedding details far beyond the entertainment: our venue, our timeline, the cake cutting, the ceremony, the hora, the dancing...everything! And of course their advice on the music, entertainment, and sound was spot on and directly led to a better, more FUN wedding day for us and our guests. They were also more than willing to help us think through our unique approach to a wedding as a queer couple trying to incorporate a wide range of "non-traditional traditions." They were an incredible asset from day one, reduced our stress immeasurably, and made sure at every turn that we understood what was happening and that we were happy with how things were going. Then in the final days before the wedding, they were always available for check-ins and questions that came up...all the way up until last second items right before we walked down the aisle! And then. The music. My goodness. The string trio for our ceremony and cocktail hour were amazing, and Rayshun and the Lucy Black Band were simply incredible. Honestly I probably got more compliments on the band than the actual wedding!! (Not exaggerating, but also not mad about it...they were SO good.) Basically at this point I'm going to start recommending Lucy Black to random people I see on the street, just so the world knows to HIRE THEM NOW. -

Say hello to your future favorite entertainment company. If you don’t know, now you know. Lauren & Rebecca made our wedding entertainment “life” so much easier & wayyyyy more organized than I ever thought possible. They were constantly in touch with us about wedding details, making awesome suggestions, and hooking us up with a kick-butt (keeping this PG) band AND violinist!! We spoke about our vision & feel for the night with motown (60s,70s,80s music) being our favorite and matching us perfectly with JWXperience—Jarreau Williams—as our live entertainment. To this day, everyone keeps talking to us about the music and how fantastic it was to let loose & boogie to the high energy of our band. I’m telling you right now...hands DOWN the BEST decision we made was to go live (if it’s within your budget) if not, well then, Lauren & Rebecca will without a doubt amaze you with a phenomenal DJ within your budget!!! Thank you for a memorable night & we look forward to all your future public events!! -

WOW!!!!! Just an incredible experience from start to finish. The planning process was flawless and we had the time of our lives with them at the wedding. Dani Baylor sang at our ceremony and then we had the whole band at the reception. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the band was. I would recommend them to ANYONE! -

Professional, enthusiastic, and a fun addition
Lucy Black Entertainment helped us find the right entertainment to fit within our budget and help us achieve our goals! We were looking for a fun and playful twist for our event and their roaming performers were just the right fit. Their musicians provided wonderful music and served as the perfect backdrop for the evening. Rebecca and Lauren were an absolutely pleasure to work with. I was thrilled to find from our first phone call that they were equally enthusiastic about our entertainment ideas and were open and flexible and creative to come up with ideas to achieve what we were working towards. Other than knowing what song I wanted to walk down the aisle to, I was completely at a loss when it came to deciding on the rest of my wedding ceremony music! Rebecca absolutely saved the day. She wasn't daunted by my lack of specific requests; she genuinely listened to my vague descriptions of my vision for the ceremony, and she found a way to bring it to life! One thing I appreciated was that she didn't just suggest songs that are over-done "wedding music"; she suggested songs that would match my particular vision and would build up to that all-important processional! She also masterfully coordinated all of the musicians (rehearsals, sheet music, day-of schedule, etc.) so that I truly didn't need to worry about a single detail. I was utterly floored by how she went above and beyond to make sure that our ceremony music was perfect, and I still get comments about how gorgeous it was. I highly recommend Lucy Black Entertainment. Not only will you get the highest caliber of musicians at the event itself, but even more importantly, you'll get the personal care and professionalism that enable you to actually relax and enjoy your own event! -
