SPEECHLESS!! My husband and I cannot express how absolutely perfect our wedding at Lowndes Grove was. The entire experience was seamless from the initial tour, to the tasting, to the entire wedding day. The venue itself is GORGEOUS and super unique (and the dock!! SO FUN!), the food was to die for, and the staff was professional and kind. All of our guests had the time of their lives, and they constantly talk about how special the whole day was. Every time I think of the whole experience it just brings me such joy. We are so thankful for Erin and Patrick Properties for helping make our wedding day so lovely and unforgettable. THANK YOU!! -

The River House at Lowndes Grove could not have been more perfect for our small wedding. The setting is so naturally beautiful. The PPHG team is welcoming, informative, patient, and kind. Rachel and Erin are lovely to work with—quick to respond with answers and suggestions.
The mini tomato pies and ice cream sandwiches were my favorite menu items (Erin made sure to pack up leftover ones for me which was very much appreciated!), but it was all delicious. The menu tasting day was probably my favorite portion of the planning process! A month later, our guests continue to rave about the halibut and the short rib.
I have always loved this property and was thrilled to be able to share it with our families and friends on such a special day.
Everything was perfect and I highly recommend PPHG. -

My husband and I got married at The River House on 9/28/23. We cannot say enough great things about the way the team at PPHG handled our event and all of the communication leading up to the big day. We had a destination wedding and the team was more than happy to answer any and all of my many questions.
I cannot rave enough about the event staff the day of the wedding though. Taylor made sure every single detail was perfect, and her staff that worked our wedding couldn't have been nicer.
Not only did this venue execute all of our visions perfectly, but they made sure to make us feel like the most special wedding ever. -

We loved our river house wedding! This was truly a deal come true, PPHG was super helpful every step of the planning process and we’re so thankful we were able to get a date in a timely matter! The food was outstanding, tables and chairs were included in our rental fee and the pictures are absolutely stunning!! -

I had the absolute best experience having my wedding at the River House. If you’re planning a smaller wedding (we had around 100 guests) then I can’t recommend this venue enough. It’s located right next to the water with stunning views and sunsets for your guests. The food and drinks are amazzzzingg, all of our guests are still gushing about the shrimp and grits and appetizers. They are so accommodating and made our dream wedding come true. 10/10 would recommend to any brides/grooms looking for a beautiful venue with great atmosphere and incredible food. -

Great vendor and beautiful venue!
We had an amazing experience with PPHG from our initial tour of the venue to our wedding day. Everyone on the team was extremely friendly and responsive to any questions or concerns. The location is breathtaking and perfect for an intimate wedding. The catering menu and food service was phenomenal - our guests could not stop talking about it. We could not have asked for a more perfect day and highly recommend PPHG for your wedding!! -

Premiere wedding venue in South Carolina is no exaggeration. Location by the river under the great oaks, professional service from initial planning to last moment of wedding, exceptional catering menu and food service, dedicated staff with personal touch, knowledge of all things Charleston - did I leave something out? The best place for your Charleston dream wedding!
My husband and I got married at Lowndes Grove on 12/11/21 and we couldn’t have been happier with our venue choice. Picking a venue for a destination wedding while you’re full time college/law students during a pandemic was probably the hardest thing we’ve ever had to do, and thankfully Lowndes Grove made our choice so much easier. The second we got to the venue for our tour we knew we’d be getting married there!! Leading up to our wedding day, all of PPHG’s staff were so helpful and always keeping us up to date about payments, scheduling our food tasting, etc. We knew that we could always email them if we needed a question answered and we always got a prompt reply. It definitely helped make our wedding planning process so much easier. The biggest thing I have to rave about is the food. Our wedding was almost 3 months ago and people are still talking about all of the amazing food we had!!! The food paired with the amazing view of the Ashley River seriously impressed all of our guests who traveled from around the country to celebrate with us. I highly, highly recommend Lowndes Grove to all couples who are looking for an outstanding wedding experience. You won’t find a prettier venue, more professional staff, or better food anywhere in Charleston for your wedding!!! -

I'm not sure where to even begin with how amazing this venue and PPHG is- if I could give it 100 stars I would! First of all, planning with them could not have been smoother- even during a pandemic, they were so on top of things and really put me at ease. They have everything down to a science and are so professional. Next, the food- wow! This is NOT typical wedding food- it is a step above. My father was so wowed by the food- all my guests loved the variety and how delicious everything was! And last, but most important, this place is GORGEOUS. We got married at sunset- there was even a rainbow over the river. All my guests told me it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been too. You just cannot beat the home, river, and grounds. I would never want to get married anywhere else. While it is expensive, you really get what you pay for and it is totally worth every penny. Thank you PPHG! -

Trying to plan and host a wedding during a worldwide pandemic can be daunting and stressful. There were so many times during our planning process that I was worried our wedding would feel like a ‘COVID wedding’. PPHG put all our worries to rest with their impeccable attention to detail and thoughtful safety precautions that kept all our guests safe but didn’t obstruct from the beauty of the day. As the world was constantly changing, PPHG and our event manager Kailin kept us up to date with the latest PPHG safety guidelines so we could make any necessary modifications to our ceremony and reception. Absolutely nothing in terms of quality was sacrificed because of this crazy world we’re living in. So many people approached my husband, my family, and me at the wedding and in the weeks following to tell us our wedding was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. I will say the highest compliment our wedding received was the food! Everything was so delectable — we even had one friend say he would request the jumbo seared scallops from our reception on his death bed, if possible. PPHG not only holds the keys to the crown jewel venues in Charleston, but also to top-tier caterers, pastry chefs and event staff. -

Had the best time working with Patrick Properties and securing this venue out of the others for my wedding day! I booked it unseen but could tell then just by the interaction with the staff and other reviews that I would be pleasantly surprised and thrilled with what my husband and I decided for our big day. The sunset alone was magical to see at the end of our ceremony - start of cocktail hour. The food was on point, atmosphere and staff were terrific!!! Thank you for all the time and attention put into making this venue shine for our big day - we loved it and will be back to visit soon. -

Jess Sent on 07/24/2018We couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue. The plantation itself is stunning. The food is amazing!!! As a bride - you hear stories about how you never ever eat on your wedding day. Not with PPHG - they made sure that we had multiple trays of the passed appetizers and all of the courses. If I were to say one thing - the dinner service did go a bit long (we were an hour behind our schedule) leaving less time for dancing. But overall we had the best day & wouldn't have picked another location.

Rachel Sent on 01/24/2015If you are choosing between another location and Lowndes Grove, don't bother contemplating it any longer. You will not be disappointed to choose Lowndes Grove. As one guest put it "The service of the staff here is impeccable! You feel like you're at disney!" The view is to die for and pictures do not even do it justice. They are wonderful to work with and ready to answer a million and one emails. -

Perfect & professional from start to finish
As Charleston locals we toured several outdoor venues before landing on The River House. It is absolutely stunning and the perfect place to host an intimate wedding. Just as importantly, working with PPHG was a dream; their process is seamless and they communicated clearly from the day we booked the venue until the day of our wedding. We appreciate that PPHG has the same high standards for food, beverage, and experience as we do, and they know how to pull off a flawless event in one of the biggest wedding destinations in the world. Beautiful, space for smaller gathering
We originally found this venue through "Here Comes the Bride" website. We were looking for an outdoor space, cozy enough to fit about 100 guests and The River House checked those boxes. From the moment we emailed for information, the staff over at the River House were always prompt to respond and super attentive to our questions. Planning from afar and during a pandemic wasn't the easiest or most stress-free task, so being comforted and able to trust that our wedding day would go as planned from them was certainly helpful. Our wedding day turned out beautifully and everything went as expected. The only thing I would've hoped for was more flexibility in regards to what vendors we could use for certain things but other than that, I'm happy to have had our celebration there. Definitely well worth it- my husband and I are very pleased with how everything turned out. -

Ashley Sent on 03/29/2016The wedding of my dreams came true by having my ceremony and reception at this elegant plantation. Working with the PPGM was smooth, professional, and made the wedding process and planning much easier. By utilizing their gorgeous back drop of the Ashley River and their beautiful plantation house, my wedding was literally perfect. I loved the idea of being so close to downtown yet you feel as if you are miles and miles away on this breathtaking plantation. They were very accommodating, as well as responsive. I asked millions of questions over the year and a half of planning my wedding, and they would get back to me within 24 hours, if not the exact hour I had asked! They went above and beyond not only during the wedding planning process but also the day of. And that is the most important part! I wish I could do it all again with my groom - and if I could, I would pick Lowndes Grove Plantation again and again. There is a reason that you must book your wedding a year in advance here - even the off months! I am so thankful to have had the wedding of my dreams become a reality and I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful venue. -

This is an absolutely amazing venue and the staff is top notch! They were there every step of the way from tours, tasting, quick to answer questions and accommodate any special requests if able to. The views are breath taking and so nice to have the entire property for the day. The food was amazing - best wedding food I have ever had! Important to know that you do need to rent most things to bring on site and must have a wedding planner! -

Honestly, if you're looking at this venue you know that it is STUNNING. I am obsessed with it. We were there all wedding day long and it was amazing. My bridal party and I got ready in the house and had a lovely little lunch with mimosas. Our ceremony was in the front lawn, and even though it was basically as cold as Charleston ever gets and wickedly windy it was SO gorgeous overlooking the river. Cocktail hour in the house was phenomenal and the hors d'oeuvres were so delicious. We then had our reception in the tent adjacent and even had a firepit down by the water. Honestly, just so spectacular. I will say, this is not the most budget friendly option - do keep in mind all the things you'll need to rent because that was a learning. And full disclosure, when we postponed a year due to Covid it was not the most flexible process. But overall, I'm thrilled my wedding was there. It was so beautiful and the day went so smoothly. -

When we got engaged, this was our favorite area of the peninsula to drive around. And I had always admired Lowndes Grove - the perfect waterfront view over every beautiful Charleston sunset. Once we actually started visiting venues, I held my breath that this one would work out with dates and budgets. We had our wedding here on 2/29/20! The last day of off season pricing; it increases on March 1st. Everything about this venue, the team behind it and their incredible catering is one of a kind!! They are truly seasoned experts when it comes to large, detailed weddings. Not only do they make sure that the bride and groom are well fed and taken care of the entire evening, but they pay close attention to each and every guest. They are the epitome of professionalism and they make the entire day look like an effortless, dreamy page out of a book. From a bride's perspective, I had a relaxing day of getting ready at the house. I showed up at 9 am on my wedding day and had my hair/makeup/lunch all brought onsite. It made for such a relaxing start to our day! We had our ceremony on the front lawn, cocktails by the water and then dinner/dancing under the tented stone patio. We ended the night by taking a fire truck home - only 1 mile down the road where we now live! We walk by Lowndes Grove every week and I reminisce on this incredible night, wishing we could do it again! -

Laine Sent on 03/07/2013I have always wanted to get married in Charleston and when I visited this venue it had the true charm of the historical low country. The venue is sitting right on the river with huge Live Oaks and moss hanging from the branches. It has a totally sophisticaed and romantic feel about it. We had our ceremony early in the day so our reception was very low key and intimate.
I enjoyed the staff of PPHG but they were usually very hard to get in touch with--I sent emails that weren't answered until a week later and left phone messages that weren't returned. I usually had to call again to speak with someone. My planner had the same issue with getting in contact.
We served a huge southern brunch that all of our guests loved. The appetizers were absolutely delicioius(Shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes, crab cakes, and pear brie) We served eggs benedict for our egg dish and that was the only thing I had a problem with. They were hard and cold... you could tell they had been sitting for a while before they were served. The wait staff that worked the day of was great-- friendly and polite.
