Care, compassion, and creativity

Having Jocelyn as our wedding photographer was the best decision we made! She put so much care and compassion into working with us, and made us feel so comfortable and at home when being photographed. Not only are the photos incredible, but also Jocelyn's calm and confident energy on our wedding day was so helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer and are forever grateful for the way she captured our love.

October Wedding

Jocelyn was absolutely incredible to work with. We are so happy she was there to capture our special day back in early October. She was extremely profession, responsive and lovely to be around. She makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed and takes the most beautiful candidate photographs. We're so happy we have these pictures to look back on!

A true hidden gem! Highly recommend!

From the moment my fiancé met Jocelyn, we knew we had made a great choice. She was kind, receptive, and made us feel at ease during our engagement photo session. What we did not know immediately is just how talented Jocelyn is. Her photos manage to capture the in between moments of every event, capturing how a wedding felt as much as how it went. Jocelyn is amazing!

Jocelyn was AMAZING! She captured all of our special moments. She has such an eye for angles and viewpoints and captured photos that I didn’t know were possible. My husband and I don’t particularly like being in anyone’s focus and thought that we would be really awkward in front of the camera, but Jocelyn made us feel so comfortable. Everything felt very natural during our engagement shoot and on our wedding day.
Jocelyn is also just a genuinely good person. She is so kind. By the end of our wedding night, I felt like I was saying goodbye to a friend and wouldn’t let her depart without a hug. If you are looking for a photographer, you will not be disappointed with Jocelyn. We plan to use her for all of our future photography needs.

The best!

Jocelyn is such a talented photographer but an even better person to be around! We have worked with her for 2 engagement sessions, our rehearsal dinner, and our wedding. She was an incredible part of our wedding weekend, amplifying our energy to make the moments she captured on film even more magical. Best wedding photographer ever!

Jocelyn is THE BEST! She is not only the most talented photographer, but also the most kind, down to earth, genuine person. We knew from the moment we had our first call with her, that she was the one- and that she really understood us and the vibe we were going for on our wedding day. We don’t love taking photos and she made us feel so comfortable and confident in front of the camera and made the whole process fun and easy! She is professional, extremely responsive, thorough and engaged. She met with us to do a site visit and helped us visualize the day and took extra effort to make sure everything went smoothly. When there was an epic rainstorm right before our engagement shoot, Jocelyn was flexible and pivoted quickly and the pictures turned out even better than we could have imagined. She dealt with many last minute picture requests, and now we have all these fun family and friend photos to treasure.

She has a way of blending into an event and capturing all the amazing moments while letting us stay present throughout the whole day. And WOW, every single one of our photos is incredible, she truly captured the day and the beauty of the Berkshires so perfectly.

We are so lucky to have her as our wedding photographer, turned friend! We’d recommend her 100000 times over, HIRE HER and you won’t look back.

Such an enjoyable experience

We are so grateful to have been able to work with Jocelyn. We were lucky to have her shoot our engagement as well which was a fun way to meet her and preview her work! We instantly felt comfortable with her and it made the whole experience more enjoyable. She was very engaged during the site visit and helps you visualize the day and organize the timeline. We had a smaller wedding at my family home and Jocelyn and her assistant Alyssa were the perfect fit and made us feel special. It was the hottest day in May but they blended in seamlessly, got all the shots we wanted, and helped us feel relaxed and natural. I can't recommend her enough!

Amazing!

We absolutely loved working with Jocelyn! she is incredible! So kind, caring and funny. She made us both feel so comfortable taking photos, she actually made it enjoyable to take pictures. Jocelyn was amazing!!!

Jocelyn was so amazing to work with at my recent wedding, and with everything leading up to it. Jocelyn is incredible in every way. She has the most calming presence, especially for a couple that had no previous professional photo taking experience. We did our engagement photos with her, which my husband continually tells me was a great decision because it helped us feel comfortable for our wedding day. Incredible Experience So Far - Can't Wait for Our Wedding!

We worked with Jocelyn for our early engagement photos (hello 2.5-year Corona-engagement!) and THANK GOODNESS we found her. Jocelyn is so lovely, with an incredibly bubbly personality and the ability to read people. She made us feel so comfortable and confident, creating the most beautiful photos.

Jocelyn's photos are breathtaking, she has the eye to capture the light perfectly. We are still fawning over our pictures, more than 6 months later! As soon as our session ended, my fiancé and I looked at one another and said "She's the one." We cannot wait to work with Jocelyn again for more engagement photos and our wedding in 2022. Incredible Photographer

Jocelyn is an incredibly talented photographer, professional, and a gem of a human being. Amazing. Incredible. Wonderful.

Working with Jocelyn was absolutely a dream. She was beyond professional, amazingly helpful, and above all else, filled our engagement session and wedding day with fun. She and her team have a way of blending in to the event, and running things from behind the scenes while the rest of the party unfolds. You'll be left to focus entirely on your special day, and then end up with photos that make you say "She got that?! I didn't even notice she was shooting there".
In the privacy of an engagement session, Jocelyn makes the experience feel very natural. Getting so many one on one photos taken of you and your fiance can feel a bit awkward at first. But Jocelyn has a way of bringing just enough silliness to the day to make it easy to forget that you're the only ones getting your photos taken.
Overall, she and her team are the best. We couldn't recommend them any more highly.

Made pictures during a Nor’easter beautiful!

Unfortunately we had terrible weather on our wedding day but that didn’t stop Jocelyn. Our pictures are amazing and she really used the rain and wind to our advantage. Then the power went out due to a tree falling and all we had was candle light and she made those pictures look like it was on purpose. We would recommend her to anyone and everyone!!

We decided to hire a photographer for our wedding very last-minute (we're talking the week before kind of last-minute) and after a quick call with Jocelyn I knew that we had made the right decision and had the absolute right person for the job. She was incredibly patient as we worked to incorporate photography into our event schedule and financial plans. On the wedding day she was a calm force who dispelled stress and had us laughing and smiling in the moment. Our family and friends had nothing but compliments for her as well. We had about 80 guests and Jocelyn blended into the mix as one of the family, capturing all the highlights. We cannot recommend her enough.

Jocelyn, above all, is such a lovely person. She's the kind of person that you talk to for a minute, and think you've known for years. This is such an asset in her career - having your photo taken professionally can feel awkward, but with Jocelyn, it is totally natural. Now, her photography skills! I had requested lots of candid photos of people's facial expressions, and Jocelyn delivered. During your wedding, it's hard to spend tons of time with each person, so you rely on things like photos and videos to help you cover the day. With Jocelyn's pictures, I see laughter, conversations, friends and family meeting - each photo is a memory and I love them so much. Technically speaking, one of the reasons I chose Jocelyn was because I really like how she works with light. She edits photos to look artistic, but not over the top. They are soft, but sharp in quality. I could not recommend working with Jocelyn more - she is such a kind person, excellent at her craft, and delivered our product efficiently and effectively!

If I could give 10 stars out of 5 I would. Jocelyn was by far the most amazing photographer we could have ever imagined. Not only did she take the time to meet with us initially, do a venue walk through, and plan out the photography schedule for the day, but she is FUNNY, KIND, and INSANELY TALENTED. We are so lucky that she was able to be part of our big day. We had a small wedding and she covered the ceremony, formal portraits, and some candids. When we received the photos she went above and beyond with an adorable box with our photo on the front, along with the cutest little wooden thumb drive filled with our prints. She's amazing: She makes you feel like she's been your friend forever. She knows how to tiptoe around tempestuous family dynamics. But, let's get back to her photos. Her photos are FLAWLESS and she knows how to frame a shot, and has some magical way of capturing light in even the most intimate places. My husband and I have never looked more beautiful than we did in our wedding photos and I can't stop looking at them. She sees light in a fantastical way that few photographers are able to master. And she creates frames and images that are so detailed and tailored to what we wanted... I know for a fact we did not describe our vision as well as she delivered, because she knew exactly what we needed. So, do we recommend her? HECK YES WE DO. Do not delay. She get's busy during the wedding season and if you are able to book her, do not hesitate one more moment. I'm serious, why are you still reading this?

We hired Jocelyn (and her assistant) for both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding day. Words cannot express how attentive, thoughtful, creative, and fun Jocelyn was during the entire process. During every meeting with her prior to the wedding weekend, it was clear that Jocelyn's number one priority was to get to know us, both as a couple as well as what we wanted out of our weekend. She was truly up for anything - when we talked about wanting to jump into a lake during our rehearsal dinner and get some fun action shots, she might have been more excited than we were! The site visit to our venue was particularly helpful and she was incredibly creative and flexible with different ideas we had for posed shots (where we wanted them to be, when we wanted the shots to take place, etc.) - it felt like a true collaboration. After the site visit, she crafted a timeline of when and where the different shots would take place for the wedding day and on the day itself she really stuck to the timeline, which made everything else run so smoothly. During the rehearsal dinner and wedding, both Jocelyn and her assistant were the perfect amount of being present without being obtrusive - staying in the background unless she had a really fun idea for a shot and wanted to run it by us. And to get those fun jumping-in-the-lake shots during the rehearsal dinner, she hopped into a canoe! This is a woman truly dedicated to her craft! And last but not least, the photos are BEAUTIFUL. She was able to capture so many genuine moments - I typically enjoy candids more than posed shots, and she really came through with capturing spontaneous gestures and expressions where our personalities shined through. For example, during our ceremony, a relative shouted something funny to break up the tension in a very emotional moment, and Jocelyn was able to capture *the moment* I cracked up. I cannot recommend her enough. She is an artist. You will want to be her best friend!

Jocelyn was absolutely amazing to work with as our wedding photographer -- her and her assistant were incredibly organized, and were so crucial in helping to make sure that everything remained running on schedule while they got all of the shots we requested! They were so professional but also incredibly warm and welcoming, and made us feel comfortable and at ease immediately. Jocelyn at Lovebird Studios is not only incredibly talented and a total professional, but also very down-to-earth and easy to work with. She made us both feel comfortable in front of the camera right away, and we had a lot of fun doing the engagement shoot with her prior to our wedding. When it comes to the wedding, Jocelyn is detail-oriented and will make sure to ask you ahead of time for all of the information and details that she needs to make sure she captures your wedding and all of the aspects of the day that are important to you. Having Jocelyn as our photographer helped our wedding go smoothly and stress-free - she is punctual and great at communicating with venue staff and other vendors, and I didn't have to worry about a thing other than getting married. We are so, so happy with our photos (and the adorable keepsake box the USB came in) and feel so lucky to have these memories to keep forever. Our wedding album is gorgeous and exactly what we wanted. Jocelyn is an amazingly talented photographer that was totally able to capture the vibe of our wedding. This was a second wedding for us so it was a small intimate ceremony held at Naumkeag in Stockbridge, MA with just our children. She is professional, detailed, artistic and creative in her approach. I wanted a photographer that could show the love between Tim and I, embrace our family union with the children, bring in the natural beauty of the Berkshires and add their own twist of artistic creativity to the photos. She delivered on all of these items. Our children also enjoyed working with her and her assistant as they are warm and friendly and so easy going. Prior to our wedding we did a walk through at Naumkeag so Jocelyn was able to get an idea of what we wanted. Do not hesitate to hire Berkshire Lovebirds as you won’t be disappointed. The moment we met Jocelyn we knew we wanted to work with her for our wedding. She has a warm presence, and she really took the time to understand who we are individually and as a couple. It was important to us that our photos tell the story of the day, and Jocelyn delivered beyond our expectations. She captured all the emotion of the day, and I hardly knew she was there. Jocelyn and her assistant covered our wedding in late-August 2017 at the Hancock Shaker Village; it was a phenomenal experience! She was recommended to us by another vendor, and we picked her from their list because of her value, incredible aesthetic, and flexibility. About a month before the wedding, we met with her to walk through the space with us. She was kind and thorough during the walk-through; she did not miss a beat!

During the event, her ability to adapt to different lighting situations was very telling of the curated vision we wanted. She worked with us during sunset, dusk, and even some nighttime photos. Very accommodating and friendly, we would absolutely hire her again for family photos in the future. We just got a sneak peak of a photo, and it is supremely tasteful and beautiful!

We hired Jocelyn to photograph our tiny, intimate winter wedding in the Berkshires, but it ended up feeling as though we had just invited another of our friends (who just happened to also have been an awesome photographer)! Jocelyn was incredibly friendly, flexible, thoughtful, organized, and professional at every moment--especially during our big day. She took lots of time to thoughtfully answer our questions leading up to the event, and was always a pillar of calm in moments chaos.

Jocelyn's energy and creativity brought out the best in us and our guests. The candid moments she photographed were truly gorgeous--the family photographs she set up look like they could be magazine spreads (I've never seen my family look so cool before)! We also really enjoyed the blog post she created just before sending out the full run of photos; it was a great way to quickly share some highlights from our wedding via Facebook or email. Her efforts were exceptionally timely--we had all of our photographs in-hand about a month after our wedding (but keep in mind that we had an off-season wedding!), and they arrived in the most delightful care package.

There are certain expectations and deliverables one expects from a photographer. Jocelyn indeed checked all of those proverbial boxes, which would have been enough of a reason to recommend her all in itself! But what sets her and Lovebird Studios apart from other photographers is the joy and careful attention she brings to her work. We can't say enough wonderful things about her and Lovebird Studios, and would work with her again in a heartbeat!

If you're looking for a photographer that expertly shoots weddings, but are hesitant about "wedding photographers," Jocelyn is for you. It was important to us that we didn't hire a photographer who was really into hoaky staged photos, but who would still capture the love, joy, family, friends and details of our wedding. Jocelyn totally nailed it.

Jocelyn is outstanding! From our first meeting with her to our wedding day, she was such a calm, confident and assuring presence. The wedding photos were stunning and better than I could have ever imagined, but more than that, she was truly a wonderful person to work with. Everything related to photography was very clear and organized leading up to the wedding, which was great. On the day of, we experienced some bad weather that caused us to make some significant changes to the flow of the day. Jocelyn didn't bat an eye and in fact helped keep me calm as we tried to figure out how to make everything happen in the pouring rain. She was super flexible with changes to the plans, and even in the rain, she ensured that we got all of the family pictures that we wanted. I cannot say enough about Jocelyn Vassos. This amazing woman went above and beyond for us on our big day this past summer, taking on any heat wave/crazy woody terrain/lightning storm challenge with a smile on her face and the warmth of a close friend or family member. She was incredibly responsive and helpful from the start, and meeting her at the venue a month before the wedding was invaluable, both to agree on logistics and shots for the day-of, but also to get to know each other and get comfortable. But with Jocelyn, this didn't take long - she is just an incredibly kind and open individual, and we felt instantly safe and happy with her. She captured our big day to a tee and really just had the patience of a saint, with all the First Look shots we did in the searing heat before the ceremony... I honestly feel as though I've gained a new friend, and I miss her now that it's all over! But very excited to get to meet in person to decide on which shots will go into the album. It'll be tough, since she got so many great ones, but I know with her help we'll come up with something fabulous. Thank you again Jocelyn, for being the photographer of my dreams. It is with great enthusiasm that I recommend Jocelyn, Lovebird Studios, for your photographer! She was so adaptable when I changed (multiple times!) the place for our photos after the ceremony! My husband and I are huge fans of Jocelyn at Lovebird Studio. When looking for a photographer for our wedding, we had interviewed a handful - and Jocelyn stood out as the only photographer who made us feel completely comfortable and seemed to really care about us and our vision and needs. And we are so, so thankful we chose her. She was so helpful and friendly in the lead up to our wedding and made us feel much less nervous on the day of the actual wedding. During the ceremony, I literally did not even notice her - but she came out with some amazing shots. The mark of a great photographer! And we loved that she managed to get nearly all of our guests celebrating at the reception. And overall - we just love all of the photographs she took. We couldn't be happier.

My family recently had a weekend reunion to celebrate my in-laws' 50th anniversary in the Berkshires. As a gift to them, we hired a Jocelyn from Lovebird Studio to do a family photo session for us. We don't live in the Berkshires area, and I blindly emailed a handful of photographers in the area based on web search. I hired Jocelyn because I loved the photos on her website, her prices were in line with our budget, and she was incredibly friendly and helpful over email. We purchased a 90 minute session that included 10 digital downloads for $305.

I was a bit nervous leading up to the photo session - there were 16 of us and lots of kids, 2 dogs, a baby, and loads of chaos. However, the second Jocelyn showed up at our rental house, my worries disappeared. She was warm and funny and I felt like she was an old friend that came to visit and take some photos. She knew exactly how to get shots of all the kids (ages 5 months to 18 years old). She was incredibly receptive to our ideas and special requests. After the portrait portion of our session, we went back to our house for her to take some candid shots. Once again, I was a bit nervous that it would be chaotic and challenging. I was completely wrong! Jocelyn encouraged us to just hang out, eat, drink, and enjoy each other’s company as if she wasn't there. She snapped photos of us doing just that.

When I received the link to the online gallery, I was completely blown away. I knew the photos would be good, but I can't put into words how well they capture the essence of our family and this special trip we took together. They are pure magic. She caught little moments that would have otherwise faded into distant memories. We love the photos so much, we've decided to purchase all a very reasonable fee to have all 178 photos on a flash drive for an additional $125.

I can't stress how priceless this experience was. I am forever grateful to Jocelyn for making this a seamless experience and for taking such amazing photos.

Jocelyn was absolutely amazing. When we interviewed her, she asked us questions about our vision and how we wanted to remember our wedding through photography. She was engaged in the process and so helpful! Throughout the ceremony and reception she was very careful about not getting "in the way." I look back on our day and there is not one time where I remember her putting the camera in my face. She was very considerate and took great photos!!! Jocelyn was amazing. She was always very easy to reach and would respond quickly to my (many) questions. She asked me what I envisioned for the day and also had some great suggestions that I never would have thought of. She was great to work with on the big day. We valued photography a lot when planning our wedding. We spent hours looking through online galleries from photographers in the Berkshires and liked Lovebird Studio's the best. Jocelyn and Lovebird Studio are absolutely fantastic! Early on in our planning process, Jocelyn was super helpful and informative through emails. Then meeting her in person before our wedding was extremely helpful and easy as well. She really listened to the vibe we were going for at our wedding. We were putting our own personal twist on some traditions and Jocelyn was immediately 100% on board. She was able to both follow specific requests and translate a mood or an adjective into beautiful photography. We recently got married on a beautiful day in June at the Bear Hill Golf Club in Stoneham. Jocelyn was the most amazing photographer we have ever met. She caught countless unique shots of people and the views that I would have never imagined we'd have as memories to look back on. Our pictures are absolutely stunning and I still can't even believe that its us in them! I went to a friend's wedding in the Berkshire's area and when I saw my friend's pictures afterwards, I called to see if Jocelyn would travel to Boston and if she was available and she was. Jocelyn went above and beyond for our wedding. She made a point of meeting with us and touring our venue and the surrounding area months ahead of time. We had a great time walking around, talking about our vision for the day and throwing out idea for photo spots. She was always available for questions and advice. Jocelyn did an amazing job with our wedding photos. She was quick to respond to all our questions and requests and very flexible with our needs. We had a fairly non-traditional outdoor wedding and she moved seamlessly between setting up formal shots with family and going with the flow of last minute changes and less-well-planned aspects of the event. Jocelyn was fantastic, not only is she a great photographer but she is also an awesome person to have around on your big day. She helped calm my nerves and was fun to work with. I just recieved my pictures and they are beautiful, she did a great job capturing the mood of our wedding as well as all the special moments.

We LOVED having Jocelyn as our wedding photographer! She took the time to meet with us before we chose her, showing us some of her work and answering all of our questions. She was prompt and kind in all of our exchanges leading up to the big day. Jocelyn even met up with us at the wedding venue to discuss what we would like. On the day of our wedding Jocelyn worked hard to make sure that we got all the shots we discussed and put forth a lot of creativity in the photos she took. We are so thrilled with the photographs she took and will cherish them. Jocelyn has an easy-going yet attentive way about her that made working with her an absolute joy! I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent photographer.

Jocelyn Is great to work with. She will work with you to make your event perfect. She met with us and answered all emails when we asked even the dumb questions. Our pictures came to us just as she promised. She is a great person and we will definitely work with her in the future.

Jocelyn provided the best experience by far out of any of the vendors we selected for our big day. From the beginning, she was professional and approachable and her work was impeccable -- with every important moment captured. She seemed to violate the laws of physics a few times as well, being in multiple places at once and catching angles of the locations that we'd never seen before. Highly recommended.

JVassos Photography was fantastic. I would recommend Jocelyn to everyone. Always responded to emails or phone calls in an incredible timely fashion. She made me and my husband feel like a friend, she was warm but extremely professional. She and her assistant got great shots of our wedding day that make us truly relive the day. Jocelyn is absolutely amazing! She is very professional and punctual. Jocelyn took time out her very busy schedule to meet with my mother and I to plan great photos. She is extremely flexible and was willing to stay an extra hour at my wedding when we were running behind schedule. Her photos are absolutely amazing and great quality. Jocelyn did an awesome job at my wedding. The pics are great. She was able to be every where and yet never obtrusive. I got the flash drive with all pics according to schedule and now I just can't wait for my album ... Though I am having difficulty narrowing down all the awesome pictures!

Jocelyn was amazing to work with, she responded back to emails and phone calls immediately and was very flexible. She made sure everything we wanted was included in our package. She is super sweet and captured great shots. Everywhere I looked there she was, the reception pictures are awesome and we recieved so many great pictures. I would definitely recommend Jocelyn to anyone and I hope that I get to use her to photograph other events!

Jocelyn was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was very receptive to the specific photos that we wanted to take and was also very creative with candid shots. Jocelyn was an amazing wedding photographer. We were planning the wedding from out of state, and she was great on e-mail and the phone, and worked around our travel to meet us when we were in town for just a few days. She has a great personality and was a joy to work with.

We just got the pictures this weekend, and they are beautiful. Very artistic and fun! Although she was very unobtrusive on the wedding day, she got lots of great close-up shots. We would recommend her to anyone.

Jocelyn was an absolute joy to work with for our June 2010 wedding! She was extremely friendly and laidback, and she has a great eye for capturing amazing photos!

I was a little nervous the day of the wedding, because I felt like I didn't see her that much... but when we got all 900+ of our photos on a disc (less than a month after the wedding), I realized it was because she is some kind of magical photographer ninja!

Seriously, Jocelyn is wonderful, and we couldn't be happier with the decision we made!

phenomenal photographer! I got back over 900 excellent photo's just under a month after the wedding. Jocelyn was very friendly, and professional about her work and was reasonably priced. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer.

Jocelyn and her assistant were so great. I would highly recommend using her at your Wedding or any event. She is so professional and the pictures she took are A++. They are the most beautiful pictures I have seen and all my family and friends are saying the same thing. Her pricing is so reasonable and honestly she is worth much more than she charges.

Jocelyn and her team were excellent throughout! Jocelyn was very flexible from the beginning, worked with our schedule and made it easy to talk about our style, and how to get the best value for our money. I don't know how they did it, but they managed to capture all of the best bits from our wedding, which is impressive, because there was certainly lots going on!
