Jess went above and beyond for our wedding cake! We didn't know much of what we wanted decor/style wise, but she helped walk us through the decisions and in the end provided us with exactly what we didn't know we pictured! the flavors were amazing, and Jess was even thoughtful enough to reach out a few weeks prior after she had adjusted one of her recipes to let us sample the new one to ensure we liked it or if she should use the old recipe from our tasting. We are SO THANKFUL to Jess and her talents for helping to make our day everything we dreamed and more. -

We would hire Jessica again and again!
Jessica made our wedding cake dreams come true! She took the time we needed to talk through our ideas and her suggestions, including how the entire process would work from start to finish. Her services include a cake stand rental, which helped complete the entire look. Jessica personally set up the cake at our venue and made sure the table looked perfect before she left. Our wedding cake looked exactly like what we wanted and tasted amazing (the icing and cake pairing were divine) -- the compliments from our guests proved it! We recently had the pleasure of working with Jessica for our wedding, and we couldn't be happier with the experience and the final result. From start to finish, she exceeded our expectations in every way possible.
First and foremost, the taste of her cakes is out of this world. We had the opportunity to sample a variety of flavors in full cupcake form, and each one was more delicious than the last and could even ask to switch up flavors. It was tough to choose just one, so we ended up going with a three-tier cake with two different flavors, and our guests raved about how amazing they both tasted. The cake was moist, flavorful, and just perfect.
But it wasn't just the taste that impressed us. Jessica truly understands the artistry of cake design. We had a specific vision in mind for our cake, and she brought it to life flawlessly. The attention to detail, the intricate design work, and the overall presentation of the cake were stunning. It was not only a treat for our taste buds but also a feast for our eyes. Throughout the entire process, Jessica was a joy to work with. Thank you for making our special day even sweeter! -

Absolutely amazing!
We got our wedding cake, as well as an assortment of other small desserts from Louisa's Homemades for our wedding this past April. Best decision ever! The cake was absolutely stunning and equally as important, absolutely delicious! We got a lemon cake with lemon icing and raspberry filling and it was just to die for. I can't wait to eat our top tier on our anniversary. Jessica was super easy to work with too. She made picking out of flavors and designing our cake an absolute breeze. Our cake tasted exactly as we expected and looked exactly like the design sketch. We're so thankful! -

Wonderful Experience with Louisa's Homemades
We absolutely loved working with Jessica for our wedding cake! Our initial tasting with her was very easy - we were able to customize our options and try the cakes together at home. Jessica was very responsive and quickly followed up with a call to learn more about our preferences and what were looking for in our wedding cake. Jessica at Louisa's Homemades gave us such a wonderful client experience. From the cake tasting to the cake and dessert decisions, she was so helpful along the way and made everything so easy for us! Not to mention, our wedding cake and desserts were absolutely delicious. Our guests made many comments to us about how much they enjoyed the desserts (lemon bars and vanilla cupcakes with brown sugar frosting). My husband and I decided on a small cutting cake (almond cake with raspberry filling and vanilla frosting) that we enjoyed for several days after our wedding. Jessica delivered everything to our venue and made sure it was set up beautifully. I would highly recommend working with Jessica as she made our experience nothing less than wonderful! -

If you're looking for a wedding cake or any cake that Jessica can accommodate, just stop and don't look any further and book with her. I PROMISE you won't regret it. I'm so lucky to have come across Louisa's Homemades while searching for a wedding cake baker and it almost felt like I was meeting with a friend to discuss my vision of my wedding cake. It also felt like I could trust her entirely because I actually did not even have a tasting! Jessica is super personable, will listen to your vision and follows up with all communication very promptly.
Now on to the cake itself- I kid you not when I say majority of our wedding guests raved about it. We went with vanilla butter cream frosting with raspberry filling and OH MAN it not only looked spectacular but tasted just as good. During my cake cutting, all of the little kids came to the cake table to ask for a bite. I don't even know how to describe it... It wasn't too sweet but the PERFECT amount of everything. The display that Jessica created was also spectacular.
Jessica was also super communicative and even with last minute requests i.e. me requesting to borrow one of her cake stands for a fee, she was able to accommodate my requests. She also truly cares for her clients as I recently went to her client appreciation cupcake pick up events in which she gave her delicious cupcakes to previous and current clients.
I will never forget my wedding cake. Jessica was an absolute pleasure to work with and I will undoubtedly be referring her to friends and family. Jessica, I hope you are able to make other custom cakes because I will be in touch soon.
P.S.- can not wait to devour the top layer cake that we are SO glad we took home with us! -

Hidden Gem in Richmond!
Jessica is the absolute best. She brought our wedding and groom’s cake dreams to life. I only gave her a couple of inspirational pictures to go off of and she 100% nailed it. The BEST cake and desserts!
I am still blown away by Jessica's ability to create such a delicious cake and desserts for us! We opted to do a small cake with our dog on it (that she handmade) with lemon bars and chocolate chip cookies. Absolute Perfection
Working with Jessica, the owner of Louisa's Homemades, was an absolute dream! We used her to design and bake our glam winter wedding cake. Not only was the cake absolutely delicious and moist, Jessica herself was fantastic. As a COVID bride, with a wedding reschedule, I ended up working with and communicating with many vendors. And I must say, many vendors leave a lot to be desired in the communication department (even if their skill is excellent). But not Jessica. From the moment I reached out to her, and throughout the entire process she was perfection—highly communicative, quick to respond, on top of the follow-ups, and more. I could not recommend her enough!!! If you don't believe me, send her an inquiry and schedule a tasting, you will see that she and her cakes are the real deal—you will not regret it! -

Excellent service, beautiful and delicious cake!
Jessica was amazing to work with for the creation of the wedding cake for our microwedding. My husband and I live out of town, and Jessica was very accommodating in terms of picking up tasting box. Everything was delicious! We had a hard time choosing flavors because everything was moist and flavorful, and Jessica helped guide us. Jessica seamlessly worried with our florist to match the cake flowers toy bridal bouquet. On the day of our outdoor wedding, we were caught at the venue in a flash flood warning. Jessica promptly communicated that she was working to deliver the cake and she was actually early! Jessica towed the cake safely into the garden with a smile despite the pouring rain. She really went above and beyond for us, and I really appreciated the effort, attention to detail, and excellent communication! Also, I want to mention that Jessica never treated us differently because of our small cake order for our microwedding. It was great to still feel special! -

Jessica is the best! I gave her a picture of the cake I wanted and she delivered nothing less than 100% of what I asked for! Our cake was a small cutting cake, 6” bottom and 4” top tier. It was perfect. For guests we had 4 types of cupcakes, 2 dessert bars, and 2 types of cookies. I made a point to sneak by the dessert table several times during the reception! I highly recommend Louisa’s Homemades! -

Talented cake and bakery artist!
We are so happy we went with Louisa's Homemades, which was recommended to us by our wedding planners from Water & Wine VA. Jessica, the owner of Louisa's Homemades, was extremely responsive and helpful - I'm the type of person that had 100 questions, and she made it so easy to feel comfortable moving forward with her as our bakery vendor.
Moreover, we got married on a very hot day and she was incredibly flexible with delivery time. She was willing to accommodate a last minute delivery time shift so we received the cake, cookies, and gluten-free cupcakes during the room flip after the ceremony and before the reception. She used my florists's live flowers to decorate the cake and it looked exactly like the example photo I was hoping to replicate.

If you are looking for the BEST wedding cake and cupcakes, look no further! Jessica with Louisa’s Homemades is absolutely wonderful to work with!! Not only does she bake the most delicious cakes and cupcakes , but she also helps undecided brides like me figure out the perfect cake and all the other details too! She even created a custom grooms cake as a surprise for my husband at our rehearsal dinner. It was a HUGE hit! Jessica boxed up 2 of each flavor of our cupcakes so we could take them on our honeymoon and this was truly the icing on the cake because we were able to enjoy being at the beach and having the most delicious treats! Jessica was so wonderful to work with from the first cake tasting we had to the final details and finally delivery to the wedding. There aren’t enough positive things I could say about Jessica and our incredible wedding cake!! Where do I begin? My biggest struggle in finding a wedding cake was that I am gluten free. Finding a delicious, gluten-free bakery is always difficult, even when not looking for a wedding cake. When I found Louisa's Homemades, Jessica already came highly recommended as making an amazing gluten free cake. We did a taste test and knew we had to hire her to make our wedding cake. My fiance/husband doesn't even eat sweets and we were fighting over who got the last piece.
We opted to do a cupcake tiered tower with a 6 inch round cake on top. Jessica and I talked about my vision for the cake and cupcake designs, emailing pictures back and forth. On the day of the wedding it was an absolute show stopper. Not only that but every cupcake was eaten before the end of the night.
I definitely recommend that you book Louisa's Homemades for your future event! I know that we plan to order from Jessica in the future for our anniversary, birthdays, etc. -

A crowd favorite!
We had the best experience with Jessica down to the tasting being superb. She was so welcoming and open to working within our budget that it made choosing her services one of the easiest decisions we had throughout planning our wedding. She helped us make our budget go farther by working a dessert bar into our dinner plans and our guests are still talking about it! Jessica made us an amazing cutting cake and dessert bar, with mini cupcakes, cookies, lemon bars, and other treats. We way over-ordered (out of paranoia, plus we had a few no-shows because of illness and weather), but we barely had any leftover desserts--our guests had demolished them.
We were a last minute add, too, and we lucked out because of our off-season date. Originally we were going to get an assortment of desserts from a grocery store, but looking at Lousia's Homemades' prices, it was honestly more cost-effective to order from her. And she delivered and set everything out beautifully!
Start to finish, we had an amazing experience, and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for personalized and delicious desserts at a totally reasonable rate! -

Jessica was awesome to work with. Our wedding cake was exactly as discussed. We also had 6 different flavored cupcakes, which everyone loved.
Would highly recommend Louisa's Homemades. Loved the lemon cake with lemon icing. Everyone attending also loved the variety of cupcake flavors we chose. Only wish we'd ordered extra so we'd have leftovers! Will be ordering our one year anniversary cake from Jessica next November!

We did a tasting with Louisa’s and we were sold due to the variety of options and how delicious everything was as well as Jessica’s desire to make our vision come to life. When we went to cut our cakes, all of the cupcakes and cookies were already gone with the cake also disappearing quickly with our guests! Louisa's Homemades was the perfect fit for our wedding! She was super easy to work with and made everything that was in my head come alive. I was able to give a brief description of what I was looking for, send a few pictures, and she used her talents to make it even better than what I was thinking it could be! There were so many flavors and options to choose from, and she was really willing to help figure out what would be best for both our budget and the guests attending. We even had a gluten free and vegan options for our guests with allergies. I LOVE all of their sweet treats, and will definitely use them again in the future for other occasions! -

Wedding and Birthday Cake
I had a cake tasting for my wedding and the samples were amazing and absolutely beautiful! I booked her for my wedding and I also had her make my daughters cake and cupcakes for her birthday! I could not recommend a better person to bake for your special day! -

Beautiful & Delicious!
We did a cake tasting box and out of the 4 flavors we tried, our favorite was the almond cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream! We loved that the almond cake was more unique than a vanilla, and the raspberry filling had a slight tartness so it wasn’t overly sweet. Our wedding cake was delicious, and beautiful! We especially loved that Jessica uses buttercream frosting instead of fondant. Her cakes are truly works of art!! -
