Obsessed with LAHM and Lisa
The Los Altos History Museum was perfection. From the very beginning, the event manager Lisa was responsive, warm, and incredibly helpful in making our vision a reality. She worked seamlessly with our vendors to ensure the day ran smoothly, and her knowledge of wedding best practices and attention to detail were incredible. The museum itself is both beautiful and functional— the ability to flip the ceremony space into the reception (all with furniture rentals from the museum, another perk that was one less moving piece during the planning!) while our guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the back of the same property made for an easy, enjoyable guest experience. The twinkly lights over the lush greenery created a lovely backdrop, and our guests also loved the opportunity to check out the museum a bit too! With Lisa's guidance and enthusiasm, we were able to create an event that was stunning, unique and effortless for our guests, and an incredible value! We couldn't have asked for a better venue or better partner (again, s/o Lisa!) in planning our special dayLos Altos History Museum's reply:
Kelly, you have been such a joy to work with for all these months! How we already had the event, I will never know. I do know that both you and Jacob were an absolute dream to work with. You were both patient, funny, able to take constructive feedback and make it your own. Working with both you and your vendors was a complete and utter treat. When I think back to October of 2025 your faces will always stand out! You both were so sweet and kind and I greatly appreciate the extra mile you both went to ensure that we were always on the same page and on track. Cannot wait to see you all again, please don't be a stranger, you are always welcome! -

This was the PERFECT venue with amazing and responsive management!
My fiancé and I chose this venue for our South Asian engagement ceremony, and it was everything we hoped for. From the very beginning, Lisa, our main point of contact, was incredibly patient, organized, and supportive throughout the entire planning process. As a bride-to-be, I had endless questions, and she took the time to answer every single one thoughtfully and thoroughly. She made the entire experience feel so much less stressful and helped ensure we had everything we needed for a successful event.
The venue itself is beautifully maintained and transformed perfectly for our garden party-style ceremony. We truly could not have asked for a better experience. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lisa and this venue!!Los Altos History Museum's reply:
Akanksha, your family and your community will leave a lasting memory. I am truly honored to have had the chance to work with you and your family all the way through this planning process. There are so many things to say about the evening, though, my favorite is having heard about how truly special your love is for each other. -

Wedding at Los Altos History Museum
I would highly recommend booking this museum in Los Altos for your wedding or any event, really. The venue is absolutely stunning for an outdoor wedding and has an indoor section too. We really wanted a cozy intimate backyard wedding vibe and that's exactly what we got here! Huge plus is my husband loves history, and you get free access to the museum for a year with a ton of other benefits once you have an event here + your donation is tax deductible.
You also don't need much decor at all due to the natural beauty but we hired a decorator for the arches, stages, and table settings. Lisa will also give you a list of vendors partners you can work with just in case. Overall, she was really amazing to work with and super responsive because anytime we needed to do a tour walk through with vendors or a tour of the venue, she was there. Thanks Lisa for answering all my questions!!
You can't go wrong having your wedding here. We had a spring wedding of close to ~200 folks and thank God it didn't rain but summer or even fall would be beautiful here. For photoshoot opportunities there’s a ton onsite and a beautiful orchard just steps away from the museum for sunset shots.
A magical day indeed.-

A Seamless, Magical Day Thanks to Lisa
If you’re considering getting married at the Los Altos History Museum—do it, and make sure you work with Lisa. She made us feel taken care of in every way. When it looked like rain, she calmly walked us through backup options and made everything feel manageable. When we needed help, she had answers before we even finished the question.
The most memorable part? She hand-crafted the golf-themed signage for our wedding. It was a masterpiece and became one of the most talked-about details of the entire night.
Lisa made our day magical, personal, and seamless. We are forever grateful.Los Altos History Museum's reply:
Christa, I will truly, truly miss our time together and all of the fun we have had planning the most epic of days. From the start I knew it was kismet! Both you and Ian were so amazing to work with the entire way. Your day was perfect, everything we'd talked about for months and everything we'd hope would fall into place, DID! The weather, immaculate.
It was such an honor to have even played a little role in your day. I cannot wait to see you both again and reminise over ALL of the things! -

the wedding venue of our dreams
Bride’s Perspective
Our wedding at the Los Altos History Museum was a candlelit pizza party in the garden — casual, approachable, and elegant all at once. About 80 guests joined us for a joyful fall evening surrounded by trees, brick pathways, and twinkling candles & string lights.
We held the ceremony under the large tree near the entrance. During cocktail hour, guests (especially those with kids) loved the docent-led tours of the historic house. For dinner, we sat everyone at two long banquet tables on the bricks, followed by dancing inside. Guests who stayed outdoors gathered around heaters and blankets we provided, creating a cozy, candlelit atmosphere.
Because the garden is naturally so beautiful, we didn’t need much decoration — just some DIY Trader Joe’s flowers and lots of candles. When the sun set, the combination of candlelight and the venue’s string lights created a magical glow. My favorite moment was cutting the cake at one end of the tables and looking out at all our laughing guests illuminated by the flickering candles.
Our mid-October wedding ended up being chillier than expected, but the heaters worked perfectly. The lights, warmth, and blankets made everything intimate and romantic.
Before planning, I thought my dream venue would be a rustic barn, while my husband wanted something more elegant. The museum was the perfect balance — and even better than we imagined.
Lisa, the venue manager, was wonderful from start to finish. She’s organized, calm, and incredibly professional. She answered questions promptly, helped with logistics, and coordinated beautifully with our vendors. Everything ran smoothly, and we couldn’t have asked for a better partner in planning.
We joke that if we ever got married again, we’d do it all exactly the same way — same venue, same vendors.
Groom’s Perspective
We knew our venue search was over the moment we toured the Los Altos History Museum. Lisa not only manages a stunning property but also operates with transparent pricing and straightforward policies, which gave us freedom to design the event we wanted.
The layout allows your event to flow naturally — ceremony under the trees, cocktails by the house, dinner on the bricks, and dancing inside. It feels private yet easy to access, and the gardens are perfect for photos. Watching the sun set over dinner while the candles and string lights took over was pure magic.
Lisa was exceptional — responsive, flexible, and proactive. She met with our vendors in advance, made space for supplies, and was the first to arrive and last to leave. She even helped us pack our car at the end of the night.
A few practical notes for other couples: there’s limited getting-ready space onsite (we used our house nearby, which worked great), tenting for rain can be expensive, and there’s no commercial kitchen. None of these were issues for us because Lisa communicated them early.

Liz and Jan, you are both so welcome. If I could do it all over again, I agree, let's do it all the same. It was just the perfect evening, and it really felt like you both ...and in my opinion, that is always the goal. I wish you both so much happiness and care in life. A little hidden gem in Los Altos
The Los Altos History Museum is one of my favorite venues to work at! It’s a little hidden gem in Los Altos — the gardens and courtyard are naturally beautiful and offer endless photo opportunities. It’s perfect for couples who love an outdoor celebration with a relaxed, elegant vibe. It’s always such a pleasure to work with Lisa — she’s so kind, helpful, and truly makes the planning process seamless. Every wedding I’ve planned here feels timeless and full of charm, and we can’t wait for all our upcoming weddings here!Los Altos History Museum's reply:

Our magical LAHM wedding
The Los Altos History Museum was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we first reached out, Lisa was friendly, empathetic and incredibly responsive, making us feel special throughout the planning process. (She even recommended other great vendors like an EPIC churro guy!) The space itself is beautifully decorated and landscaped with a warm, welcoming feel that set the perfect scene for our ceremony and reception. Lisa ensured everything ran smoothly so we could fully enjoy our special day. We couldn't recommend this hidden gem enough - not only is the venue stunning, but we knew our money was going towards a wonderful community organization that puts on great programming. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful and unforgettable the museum was!Los Altos History Museum's reply:
Bentley!!! It was truly an honor to be apart of your wedding day. From the moment we met, I was so hopeful that you would choose the Los Altos History Museum so that we could work together. not only were you and Angel creative and resourceful, you both really took the space and made it your own.
The day came together just as we had planned and talked about for the past year. With your beautifully creative touches, fun-loving family, friends and guests, it was one for the books.
Thank you for trusting the us to host your special day. I am so looking forward to the gallery and seeing you both soon. -

Wonderful Wedding Venue with Exceptional Support
We had a blast hosting our wedding reception here. Lisa was very helpful from the very first day where she toured the grounds with us, answered all of our questions, and helped us make the right decision for us. Throughout the process Lisa communicated with us and updated us as the day got closer. The week of, she was very attentive, very helpful, and accommodating, all of which are very helpful as the day approaches. On the day of, she was there, all the way to the end of the wedding, which was very nice. So many things are happening that day, and knowing she was working hard in the background, did not go unnoticed!! She helped keep our evening running smoothly and allowed us to enjoy the night. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue for anyone looking for a venue. It is a beautiful place, that honestly doesn't need much decor as the foliage and setting speak for themselves. Thank you Lisa and LAHM for making our night one that we will never forget!Los Altos History Museum's reply:
Hey Addison! It really was my pleasure to be a part of your special day. I still remember when we did our tour, and it was a great precursor to what planning was going to be like. You both were so fun and easy to plan and work with, it really made the whole experience leading up to the event enjoyable for me! Please, please, do not be a stranger; we'd love to have you back here. -

Summer Garden Wedding
We were married at the Los Altos History Museum on a Sunday evening in June, 2025. The venue was perfect, with gardens in bloom, a beautiful courtyard, plenty of space for cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and so many great sites for photographs around the Museum grounds and exhibits.
We had the museum at the top of a short list before we went to visit, hoping for an outdoor venue for a wedding with a family reunion feel. We were blending a large multi-generational family with roots on the East and West Coasts, and the museum grounds feel like a perfect blend of New England and California summertime, with a brick courtyard, large heritage oaks, and historic buildings. The secret gift in booking the venue, though, was Lisa Porter, the Museum’s Event Coordinator. Lisa was responsive, professional, knowledgeable about every detail we could think of, and had so much helpful advice at every step of the planning process. She worked exceptionally well with our vendors and made it easy for them to get information and support whenever they needed it. She was present through rehearsal and event; she told us when we first met that she would be the first person to arrive and the last person to leave, available for whatever might come up.
It was just beautiful at night; perfect for a summer evening wedding, and the “golden hour” glow is gorgeous in the photos. We held cocktail hour, dinner, toasts, and first dances outside, then moved the dance party indoors. We had 150 guests; there was plenty of space for everyone who wanted to dance, and the weather at night was still comfortable outside between dances for talking and mingling.
We are so glad we had our wedding at LAHM; the setting was perfect, and Lisa made sure our plans came together just right.
Los Altos History Museum's reply:
Thank you for your kind words. I am so thankful that you and Alex managed to find our gem. It was clear from the first time that we'd met that your love for each other was so easy and pure. I couldn't have thought of a better backdrop for your love than our courtyard. I hope to see you both again. You're always welcome back! -

Corporate Team Building Event - 10/10!!
We had such a great experience hosting our corporate team-building event for ~60 people at the Los Altos History Museum! The venue is beautiful — we used both the full courtyard and the galleries, and it worked perfectly for our day.
Our event had a few moving parts, including a scavenger hunt, full catering for breakfast and lunch, and even a magician/mentalist — and the space handled it all seamlessly. The amenities were super convenient too. We had a shuttle drop off team members, and those who drove had no issues finding parking.
Lisa was amazing to work with. She was responsive, helpful, and incredibly accommodating — from the early setup to coordinating all the logistics. Our team had a great time, and the smooth transition between indoor and outdoor spaces made the whole experience feel effortless. We also selected Heirloom from their approved vendor list, and the combination was smoother than I could have even dreamed!
Would definitely recommend for events — both personal and corporate!Los Altos History Museum's reply:
Jaysie, your planning expertise and professionalism were truly a dream. It was great to not only work with you but also work with Amanda from Heirloom with you!
It was a seamless day that everyone seemed to enjoy. From the food, the fun, and the mentalist (how cool was he?!,) you and your group were a pleasure to host.
Please, come see us again. -

Beautiful romantic venue for a reception!
We recently held our wedding reception at the Los Altos History Museum, and it was truly PERFECT!
The venue itself is simply gorgeous. We started out with cocktail hour in a beautiful shady area of the property where guests could mingle and enjoy the beautiful landscape & architecture. Our reception was held on the main patio, which was spacious & allowed us to very comfortably host almost 200 guests. The bistro lighting, surrounding trees, barn-like buildings, & pergolas made the space so romantic - with the natural beauty of the venue, no additional florals were needed. There is also a perfectly sized indoor area for dancing. On top of that, the venue offers a ton of flexibility - we were able to bring food trucks & food stands to the venue, and there are few venues in the Bay Area that would allow that!
The location itself is ideal. Parking is plentiful; and while the museum is very close to downtown Los Altos and I280, it feels so isolated & private - perfect for a wedding reception!
The secret to hosting the perfect event at Los Altos History Museum is LisaP, the event planner at the museum. Lisa is AMAZING - she is incredibly responsive, so organized, and has a true "can do" mindset. From the start, it was clear that she was committed to helping us make our vision for our wedding reception come true! We were taking an unconventional approach by bringing food trucks & food stalls to LAHM - and Lisa helped us brainstorm ideas & ways to make everything work. She answered all of our questions promptly, and with such a positive attitude - we couldn't have pulled off our reception without the help of Lisa!
The Los Altos History Museum is a true gem & the ideal venue for wedding reception or any special event. We highly recommend it for any event where you want to wow guests in a beautiful & romantic setting - your guests will be impressed, and you'll get the benefit of working with a true event planning wiz in Lisa!Los Altos History Museum's reply:
I appreciate your kind words. Catherine, you event was masterfully crafted and you and Shu-Jon make the best dynamic duo.
It was truly a fun time working beside you both and what a joy to behold the planning had paid off big time.
I hope you know how special it is to play a small role in this day that will live on in both your memories forever.
Hope to see you both, so soon. -

Lovely Spring Wedding Venue
We had our wedding at the LAHM in the spring - wonderful location, lots of space for decorations, tables, etc! Venue comes with string lights, which was nice once the sun started setting. Lisa was super helpful and accommodating. Really beautiful courtyard and garden space, it gave us the cozy backyard feeling without the hassle of actually planning something at home. The museum exhibits were also very charming. They offered more flexibility than other big wedding venues, though there is still a list of preferred vendors. The terms were pretty transparent - no big hoops to jump through or navigate. Spacious parking, just keep in mind time constraints for your event. Overall, we loved having our wedding here and would recommend!Los Altos History Museum's reply:
Thank you, John. It was a beautiful day and it all came together just as we'd planned for all those months. There was just a fun air to everything that night and I am so happy that you chose the Museum as your venue. Do visit us again soon! -

Beautiful dynamic venue
I recently had the pleasure of working at LAHM as a wedding planner since my couple had chosen to get married here. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, filled with flowers & greenery, string lighting already installed (which can be expensive if brought in!), and a rich history that adds a special touch to any event. The multiple spaces available allowed guests to explore and enjoy different areas throughout the day, making the whole experience feel dynamic and unique! On the day of the wedding, we needed to do a flip of the ceremony space into a dining area, and the venue's setup allowed us to have the tables ready & set up inside during the ceremony, which was incredibly helpful and made the transition smooth. The venue manager, Lisa, was great as well—she was easy to communicate with and extremely helpful throughout the planning process as well as on the day of the wedding. She knows the venue inside out and was able to answer all questions & provide helpful suggestions. I enjoyed working with her and would highly recommend LAHM as an event/wedding venue!Los Altos History Museum's reply:
Thank you so much, Yoko! It was a special treat to work along side your team. Everyone was so professional and worked hard. It's always a really nice time when that happens and I look forward to you coming back to LAHM soon! -

The perfect wedding space
In every way, LAHM was the absolute perfect wedding venue for us. Magically good.
First — the people. Lisa, the events director, was so great to work with and put us at ease right away, from getting us scheduled instantly for the first tour (six months from our date!) to communicating clearly & excellently throughout. The second time we were there she was finishing up an appointment and (no surprise!) the other folks couldn’t say enough nice things about her. She was so key as the point person to get everything running smoothly.
Second — the venue is really ideal for a wedding ceremony and reception. Cute, cozy, and private, with lots of flowers and very light touch needed on any additional decor. The area in the back with a few tall trees made for stunning golden hour photos. It was one of those places where you can walk in and just instantly feel, “this is it” — and that’s how it was for us. Our guests loved it, too! We had a ton of glowing comments about our choice of venue. That made us so happy.
Third — it was practical. From their extensive experience with hosting events like this (& recommended vendor lists) to their convenient location (nestled right in near downtown Los Altos and easy to get to; also, copious parking)…it made it very easy to focus on everything else that goes into planning. Everything went *so* smoothly, not a single hitch, and that is not something to be taken for granted.
Finally! Though this is a wedding venue review, the museum is also a wonderful community space with exhibits and kid-friendly activities. We went several times during the planning and it always felt like a friendly place to visit.
Thank you so much to Lisa, and everyone at LAHM, for forever being a part of our unforgettably special day.Los Altos History Museum's reply:
Thank you, so much for your kind words. It was my pleasure to be a part of your day. You said it best. Everything went SO smoothly. Couldn't have asked for a better day! I hope to see you all again at some museum events, we're always here; congratulations again! -

Dream venue over the hill
Our wedding day at Los Altos History Museum was absolutely magical. From the stunning venue to the exceptional service, everything came together perfectly. We were amazed by how accommodating the staff was, going above and beyond to ensure every detail was just right. Despite a few minor hiccups during the planning process, they handled everything with professionalism and grace, making us feel truly valued as clients. The historic charm of the museum added an extra layer of romance to our special day that we will cherish forever.
The team at Los Altos History Museum paid attention to all our requests and helped bring our vision to life. The beautiful decor and setup created a dreamy atmosphere that our guests couldn't stop raving about. While there were a few communication delays along the way, once we connected, they were responsive and receptive to our feedback.
One aspect that stood out to us was the delicious catering provided by the museum. The food was not only mouthwatering but also beautifully presented. Our guests were impressed by the quality and variety of dishes offered. It added an extra touch of elegance to the whole event.
In conclusion, our wedding at Los Altos History Museum was a day we'll never forget. The venue's historic charm, attentive staff, and delightful catering made our celebration truly unforgettable. If you're looking for a unique and enchanting location for your special day, we highly recommend considering Los Altos History Museum.-

Beautiful event setting!
I had my wedding at this gorgeous venue and received so many compliments from friends. The venue requires that you select your own vendors (they have recommended caterers who know the venue well) which can be more work than choosing a venue that comes with a package, but I chose this because it allowed for more creativity.
We had our wedding in early august and enjoyed a beautiful warm evening. The event coordinator for the venue was always responsive and helpful. Parking was easy for the guests as well. We are so happy we had our wedding here!Los Altos History Museum's reply:
Thank you, Sara, for your review! We're so happy you chose the museum for your special day and we sincerely hope that you think of us for any future celebrations as well. Events aside, we'd love to have you visit the museum anytime. -

Gorgeous venue, picture perfect wedding
Aside from the beautiful scenery and location, Mark, the events coordinator was the selling point for us choosing this venue. He’s been doing this for several years so he had answers to every question we could possibly think of. He was also super responsive. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue! -

Loved having our wedding at The Los Altos History Museum. Very intimate, romantic, and comfortable setting. The string lights and abundance of natural greenery and florals sold us. Mark was an absolute pleasure to work with. He’d seriously be the best PM to work with anywhere he was. Couldn’t ask for anything more. The LAHM books up fast so book quickly! We booked their last availability for the year a few weeks into the beginning of the year itself! -

We stumbled upon this venue right down the street from our house and fell in love. We got married in September and had perfect weather, which is great because the venue is primarily outside. The brick patio has string lights and great ambiance at all times of the day/night. We We had very simple decor because the natrual beauty of the venue was just what we were going for. Mark, the events manager, was so easy to work with. He is laid back, honest, responsive, and overall great. The venue doesn't "come with anything" but we knew this going in and budgeted accordingly. I would HIGHLY recommend taking a look at this venue if you're even considering it. -

My husband and I got married at LAHM on 9/13/15. We had such an incredible experience having our big day at the most beautiful venue. I knew I wanted to get married here about two years before my (now!) husband and I became engaged. Once he popped the question, I immediately reached out to Mark Perry to get the ball rolling. Not only is he an incredibly kind, funny and knowledgeable guy but he put so much effort into answering all my (many) questions leading up to the wedding day. We referred to his wedding planning tools and recommended vendor list often. The vendors we ended up using were absolutely perfect and I would STRONGLY recommend you look into the ones we used for your LAHM wedding (Karen Pan of New Sunrise Events [coordinator], Kim Wakatsuki of FlowerStory [florist], Frank Loera of Sound in Motion [DJ & Photo Booth], Emily Rosengarth of Emily Jean Images [photographer], The Party Helpers [caterer], Sweet Puff Candy [cotton candy], Sugar Butter Flower [cake] and last but not least Andrew Boer of Boer Digital [videographer]! Thanks Mark and LAHM for a magical day! -

This was the first and last choice for my husband and I. When we were shopping around for a reception venue, we were looking for something that reflected who we were as a couple. I have always wanted an outdoor wedding, we love the outdoors, we were looking for something fresh. Obviously a hotel reception was out of the question for us. We searched through Yelp for the perfect place and found the Los Altos History Museum. Of course you are paying to use just the museum as a venue and catering is separate. This was the PERFECT venue and when we were standing in the middle of the grounds, we just looked at each other with the biggest smiles. You really don't have to decorate much because they have beautiful flowers that just happened to bloom on our wedding day. The weather is perfect - not hot, not cold, just enough light. When it gets dark, the twinkling lights turn on and it just creates a romantic mood :) There is so much space for creativity i.e. photobooth, dance floor, etc.
What made our experience even better was the event coordinator, Mark Perry. He was simply awesome from the beginning and always willing to answer any questions, no matter how many time I had asked before (but forgot).
The museum even offers rentals on-site (taken out of your deposit). My guests have all had nothing, but the best remarks about our wedding day.
Thank you, Mark and the Los Altos History Museum! -

We absolutely LOVED the Los Also History Museum for our wedding. We got married in August and it was absolutely perfect.
When we were looking for a venue we knew we didn't want a hotel or country club but with an invited guest list of 200+ we needed something that could accomodate a large crowd. After a lot of searching online I found some photography blog photos of LAHM and loved what I saw. So we made a time to meet Mark the coordinator and that was it, we were sold.
We fell in love with the brick patio, the large dance space inside the museum, all of the oak trees and the overall aesthetic the place has. It has a very elegant rustic Californian vibe to it. We really fell in love with a lot of the venue including -
- All of the bistro lights that hang over the brick patio - these lights looked amazing as the sun went down and added so much light we didn't need anything else except a little candlelight on the tables. Plus there's lighting on the house, the trees and pergolas.
-Really how big the dance floor is - we ended up having about 160 guests and so we loved having a really large dance floor - no one was cramped inside.
-All of the gardening - the flowers are well maintained at LAHM and so it doesn't need a lot of decor
- All of the photo options - the porch, outside the fence where the big oak tree and fence with ivy...it's all beautiful
- Easy and free parking
- Venue costs are not exhorbitant - some venues are $10k just to use the space which is ridiculous - the costs of LAHM were very fair for the area
- Access to the space starting at 2:30 - the caterer and our friends got access to the space early which means there's plenty of time to set everything up. Plus we got to have the wedding go until 10:30 - all the lights come on at 11 - which was a little later than other venues.
Working with Mark was amazing - he was so helpful with all of the questions we had and super fast in his responses. -

Amazing Outdoor Venue
We're so glad we found the Los Altos History Museum for our wedding! The venue was perfect for an outdoor reception with 170 guests. The space is well enclosed with lots of beautiful greenery. The orchard in the back was a perfect spot for portraits during golden hour. The museum wedding coordinator Lisa was responsive, accommodating, knowledgeable, and had lots of great suggestions to make the day flow smoothly. They also let us store supplies at the venue the week leading up to the wedding which was very helpful. The bathrooms are the weakest part of this venue. They're clean but not the nicest and a little hard to find for guests. On the whole a great venue and made for a really special day. Would recommend!Los Altos History Museum's reply:
It's great to hear about your reflection on your wedding and experience in our space. I will remember your event fondly, as will the time we spent planning it. I hope that the memories you made here that evening will live on, and you both think of them fondly.
Thank you for your notation about the restrooms! Thanks to your feedback, we are talking about the possibilities for remodeling. I value everyone's experience on-site, and it's tips like yours that will help us make improvements!
We welcome you both back to visit. Don't be a stranger! -

Perfect Garden Wedding Space!
The LAHM is such a sweet, beautiful and lush venue, tucked away in Los Altos! They have a gorgeous red brick patio with lights already strung across to make any event feel like moderate sized garden party. For our wedding, we loved having a beautiful natural backdrop for our ceremony, but also a space with room for mingling during cocktail hour and for kids to run around (though if you have a kids free wedding, the event space is still perfect!). They were so generous in allowing us to use the Smith House for the bride to hide away while guests arrived, while also giving us space in their main museum to store the belongings of our wedding party. All around, I couldn't imagine a better wedding venue for us! Lisa P. started after we had reserved our date and once she was our point of contact, things couldn't have been easier! She was so helpful and communicative. We even lost one small item on the day of the wedding and she was so diligent in ensuring it was returned to us quickly and easily. We highly recommend the Los Altos History Museum for your event!-

In searching for a venue for our UNwedding, one criteria was a venue for a cause. Little did we know we would find it in our hometown of Los Altos. The LAHM is a hidden gem with a darling courtyard, a museum dedicated to preserving a small town's history and kid friendly to boot.
Not only is the museum a fabulous place for an unconventional wedding but the events coordinator, Carolyn Hopkins, is a jewel. She took our many unusual requests with enthusiasm and aplomb. She offered suggestions when we got stuck and problem solved efficiently. We incorporated games tables, karaoke, a fire pit for smores and she never batted an eye and made it all seem easy to do.
On wedding day I leaned on her heavily, and she managed the beer/ice levels, making not one but two runs to the liquor store for ice!
The Unwedding was a success for a non traditional wedding and reception - much in part to the LAHM & Carolyn.
