Wow, fantastic!

We were married back in 2021 (I realized we didn’t leave a review!), and Loretta made our ceremony incredibly special! We actually hired another officiant at first, but after he canceled and gave our appointment to a friend of his (who was a bit rude over emails), we went looking for someone else. We came across Loretta, and she seemed like the perfect fit. She asked us to pick out one of her scripts from her website, and we picked one that we really liked. The officiant we had before used a basic script that he didn’t write himself, and we had to edit it a lot to fit our (lack of) spiritual beliefs. Loretta’s was perfect from the get-go.
Fast forward to our wedding day, Loretta was incredibly sweet, thoughtful and all around wonderful. The script that we had already read sounded so incredibly different coming from Loretta’s mouth. It was beautiful spoken, we both teared up as we listened to her words and looked in each others eyes. It was a transcendent experience.
To make a long story short, you will absolutely not be disappointed in Loretta. It was such an experience that we often bring it up, even 2 years later!

Lorretta was so helpful and patient with us as we put together the ceremony of our dreams. Amazing!!!

Loretta made our wedding perfect!

Loretta couldn't have been easier to work with. She helped us navigate the whole process, and was gracious and pleasant throughout every step of coordinating and getting the deed done. We hardly knew what to ask for, and she still managed to make our day feel as special & personal as could be! Our family members were even commenting on how great she was a week after the wedding was done.

Beautifully written ceremony and wonderful person!

My fiance and I have had a wonderful experience working with Loretta. Throughout the process of planning and writing our ceremony, she was supportive, kind, and patient even when we didn't know where to begin. Loretta wrote a lovely ceremony for us that incorporated personal elements of our relationship in a beautiful way. Unfortunately the coronavirus pandemic has made it impossible for us to hold our wedding as planned and we will no longer be able to have Loretta officiate, but even so Loretta remained positive and supportive of our decision and was very gracious when we had to cancel. We highly recommend Loretta and truly wish we could have had her guide our ceremony!

Wonderful!

Loretta performed the marriage ceremony for my husband and I at our September wedding. She did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a wedding officiant! When we first hired Loretta, she immediately started collaborating with us on what we wanted. Her website was very helpful and had lots of ceremony samples to work with. We picked out some sections that spoke to us and gave Loretta information about ourselves and our relationship. She met with us several times to perfact the content of our ceremony and in the process really go to know us as a couple. She was able to craft a very touching and personal ceremony that had many specific details about our story and what makes us unique as a couple. When it poured rain 20 minutes before our outdoor ceremony, Loretta also helped to keep me calm and “give it 10 minutes.” The rain eventually stopped and we had a very beautiful and special ceremony.

Loretta is amazing!!!

Loretta did an amazing job at my wedding! Her and and assistant did an amazing job on our wedding day! Loretta has been there for us since the day we met until the day of our wedding. She did such a amazing job coordinating the entire ceremony and communication with us, our bridal party, family and DJ. Loretta has it going on!!! I honestly dont know what I would have done without her! Especially my husband and I being the first in both sides of our family having a wedding celebration; we didn't even know where to start! Loretta had everything under control, she knew our vision, and she definitely delivered! My husband and I decided to do our personal vows, and Loretta did a very beautiful job following up to our vows!
I would most definitely recomend her to anyone I know!!! She's amaizing!!! Thank you so much Loretta!!!

Best officiant in PNW!

When we first met Loretta, it was like we knew her for many years. She was personable and a great listener when we told her our love story. Whenever we had questions, she was quick to respond. The day of our rehearsal we had a huge downpour. About thirty of us piled under a gazebo and Loretta did an amazing job walking us through our ceremony. On or wedding day, we couldn't have asked for a better officiant! Loretta spoke from the heart and personalized our ceremony beautifully. We highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for an officiant!

In the two weeks leading up to our wedding, Loretta was incredibly responsive and helpful in creating our vows. Renewal of 21yrs of marriage

When I entered my info on this site looking for a vendor lots of people emailed me but she was the only that made a phone call and asked me questions. After the questions was asked I felt a connection that she would be the person to renew our vowels after 21yrs of marriage. We came out of state to renew our vowels where we got married at the courthouse. My wife and I were nervous like the day we got married and Loretta calmed us down and start the ceremony like was a close friend. All the answers that i answered was in the ceremony. It was a special touch. The twelve hour drive and revisiting Portland and Vancouver was worth it. Thank you again.

Loretta for the win!

My wife and I were married by Loretta just a week ago and since then have both had nothing but great things to say about her and our wonderous event. Loretta truly cared about the circumstances of our coupling and offered professional advice and general concern for the well being of our families budding future. She was able to fill in where a photographer would have been helpful otherwise as being skillful at capturing the most picturesque details of our treasured moment. She also offered us a military discount as we are both Army Veterans which was a delightful gift from the officiant herself. 10 of 10 would reccomend for anyone looking into getting hitched in the Vancouver, Wa region and would choose her again if we had to do it all over again.

Fantastic choice

If you are considering hiring Loretta, just do it. She did an amazing job.
At the beginning of the process, she made it simple and easy. She traveled to our wedding city, Astoria, OR. to have a meet and greet. She went over everything with us. Normally I would have set time aside for any questions I may have, but she covered EVERYTHING.. When we ended the meeting, we were set on her.
She has many pre-written scripts that she has used for all types of ceremonies. When told her our theme would be a deep romantic love script. She allowed us to add and change our ceremony script to exactly what we wanted.. we were extremely grateful for this, because like many wedding couples, I could not make up my mind on many things.
We ended up needing to make last minute changes the day of the wedding. She was flexible and read the correct script. There was not a dry eye in our guest group. All night, we heard raves about how well she did. She was professional, appropriate, added humor when needed, articulate, and just fantastic. Our wedding was in October, and we are still hearing compliments about how wonderful she was.
The wedding planning process was crazy for us, but Loretta was a no-brainer.

Personalized to Perfection

Loretta was very organized, professional and even helped us navigate how to apply for a marriage license (we live outside of the state we were married). She included many personal details into our ceremony and made it feel truly special- she even found a way to include our dogs names into the ceremony which was important to us. Loretta was awesome to work with and greatly helped us from ceremony creation (non religious) through to our marriage ceremony--and then took care of the paperwork so we didn't have to worry about it. Absolutely full service!! Loretta is simply amazing! My wife and I are from Texas and we had an absolutely perfect elopement on Indian Beach at Ecola State Park. Having never been to Oregon, we knew nothing about the area. Through email correspondence alone, Loretta worked with us and our photographer to help us choose an amazing location. Her responses were always prompt and very informative. Loretta also put together the perfect ceremony, encompassing ideals and philosophies that were important to both me and my wife. She is extremely professional and flexible, working with us and our photographer's timeframes to ensure our day was perfect. She even walked through a small stream and willingly got soaked from the tide for us during the ceremony. When a witness fell through, she went and enlisted a bystander on the beach for our ceremony and license. We could not be more pleased with our choice in officiant! I highly recommend Loretta for ANY couple looking to get married!

Loretta was awesome. She's very professional. She was very prompt in our correspondence leading up to the ceremony and in showing up early the day of. She was also very flexible for us in that one of our attendees was running late. Loretta gave us a time frame that she could patiently wait for the person before she had to go to her next appointment. Loretta is the best!!! Loretta was able to incorporate our personal touches in the wedding ceremony while making it flow so nicely. She was able to do this all through emails and video calls because we live out of state. Two days before our wedding we got notice that the wedding location we were planning for the last six months, Columbia River Gorge, was under a level 3 fire evacuation and the roads were closing down. Loretta was instrumental in helping us find a new location with 2 days’ notice that was outside of the: fire, smoke, and ash. She, without hesitation, was willing to perform the ceremony in the new location we picked. I am sure she would have been willing to go anywhere for us. The day of, Loretta was on time and looked so cute. :) Her presentation was perfect and she even let me have a moment to gather my tears in the middle of the ceremony. We are both very pleased to have selected her to officiate our wedding and were happy she was part of our big day. She was so professional and made sure everything was signed and filed our certificate two days after our ceremony.

Loretta officiated our wedding in 2013 (that's our wedding certificate she's filling out in her pictures), and I have never forgotten the beauty in the words and vows, her wit, charm, and lovely personality. My amazing husband passed away early this year, but we never forgot our simple but lovely wedding. One of the "instructions" she gave in our ceremony was "Remembering to say I love you at least once a day." Every night my husband would say "I love you. There got that out of the way for today. Loretta would be proud" We could not have chosen a better officiant, I can't recommend her enough.

Loretta was an absolute pleasure to work with-- from helping us put together our ceremony to walking us through everything on the day itself. She was always available to answer questions and she met with us in person several times to really take the time to get to know us as people and as a couple. Loretta is the sweetest wedding officiant you will ever meet! other than being extremely flexible and being available to be at our ceremony on short notice, In the weeks leading to the ceremony she was extremely quick to reply and put together drafts of our ceremony. She met with us and got to know us and made the most beautiful custom ceremony! On the day of, she arrived early and gave me some sweet advice when I arrived. The ceremony was beautiful, and she created a lovely ambiance that continued throughout the rest of the evening, even when my autistic brother vocally decided he wanted to go home during the reading :) Loretta is very knowledgeable, kind, amazing, professional, and such a caring lady, my husband and I would recommend her to anyone!

Loretta is so wonderful and made our ceremony such a pleasure. She is so quick to respond to any questions, and offered her own experience and knowledge to help guide us through the process. She was so accommodating and we were able to meet long beforehand to establish a feel for our vows. She truly does care for the happy couple and catered the ceremony exactly to our wishes with a blend of her own templates and our personal input. Loretta was a wonderful wedding officiant! She was incredibly helpful throughout the wedding planning process. She offers up sample ceremonies on her website, which were very insightful. We mixed and matched our vows from a few of those samples, and Loretta threw in a few more personal touches so that the vows told /our/ love story. She genuinely cares about her couples, and tries her best to get to know them before the wedding day, so that during the actual ceremony, everything feels completely natural. I am so glad to have booked Loretta as our wedding officiant. She was great!

Listen to her videos to get a feel for her voice and manor speaking. That is how we did it! We found a few, and weeded them out based on their style wouldn't work for us. We then met with Loretta and had a sucessfull face to face. From there it was emails regarding the version of our ceremony. She made sure that we worked on it and finalized it a few months prior to the actual ceremony. I didnt want to be quoting it in my head along with her!
Loretta did a fantastic job of making the ceremony unique to us (even though we started with something in her archives) and I continue to hear positive things from our guests. They have commented on 'how well Loretta seemed to know you..'. That makes it successful right there!

My fiance and I were looking for an officiant to perform our legal marriage here in Portland and since we are relatively new to this part of the country we reached out to Yelp and that's where we found Loretta based on the positive reviews. She was immediately responsive and available despite the very last minute request. She was a pleasure to work with every step of the way and brought such peace & positive energy to our special day and made it even more memorable. She even suggested a few beautiful venues to perform the ceremony at and sent us pictures so we could choose the one best suited to our taste. We both loved the beautiful text she prepared and read for the ceremony. We would definitely recommend her to all friends and family who may be looking for an officiant in the Portland/Vancouver area.

Our wedding ceremony was a small, intimate gathering at a relative's backyard in the Gresham area and Loretta was accommodating of our small size and delivered exactly what we wanted. Her rates are very reasonable and she was flexible with the mode and location of our meetings to make it most convenient for us. I appreciate her insight and eagerness to make our ceremony personal and special. Highly recommended!

I just had my elopment wedding yesterday 9/17/2016 I really appreciatedon't how Loretta was communicating with me via email she was always quick to respond back when I had questionsome. And when I finally met her on the day of my wedding she showed up on the time we had agreed on and she was son nice and polite she did an amazing job the ceremony I had was traditional Christian and she even started the ceremony with a prayer that she had thought was beautiful but she didn't do it with out getting my okay first and I agreed to it. When she got there she asked how me and my now husband met and she included that on our ceremony. She was great the ceremony was beautiful I loved it it touched my heart even made me cry I will forever remember this day with joy. Thank you so much Loretta. I will be sure to recommend her to anybody looking for a wedding officiant ????

Words cannot begin to describe the beautiful soul that Loretta is; She encompassed everything one would want in an Officiant, and more. She was patient, understanding, encouraging, provided feedback and suggestions where needed and never made us feel for a second that we were ever a bother with any of our questions or concerns. Loretta was so easy to work with and did an amazing job! We felt like we got so much value for our money with her. She responded quickly to every email, traveled to a coffee shop near our home to meet us, and we felt like she asked questions to help her get to know us as a couple, well before the wedding. Working with Loretta was a wonderful experience! My husband I both live outside of Oregon, and we handled all of our communication with Loretta over the phone and via email. She was very responsive, and helped us customize the perfect ceremony. She helped us decide on specific details, readings to add, and coached us through all of the day-of details! Loretta was amazing from the very begging to the end. She made choosing the best ceremony for us very easy and gave us confidence it was the correct decision. She not only was easy to work with but even gave us lots of encouraging words and thoughts that helped us deal with some of the stress of the big day. I even threw her for a loop by forgetting to bring our wine box up to the arbor. She transitioned very smoothly and helped me look less like a dork and we proceeded on with the ceremony. The biggest compliment to Loretta was how many people came up to me afterwards to tell me how beautiful the ceremony was and how well she did with the delivery. We opted to have her present during our rehearsal and we're glad we did, she was extremely helpful and was very patient with my groomsmen (that's a handful!) I'd highly recommend her, you can tell from start to finish that she really loves what she does and that goes a long way! Thanks again, Loretta!

Sweet Loretta helped us elope. I was very nervous, and she always calmly responded. She was keen on all the details that I realized made a big difference, after looking at our pictures taken with our regular snap and shoot camera, and my witnesses' wireless phone pictures. For example, she positioned us so that the pictures would turn out exactly as I wanted them to - with the St John's bridge piers and the tree between the arches, positioned between us in the photos. She also helped fix my dress at one point, and took a few pictures for us. She also gave me the heads up about possible traffic. Her price was also better than others, and she always responded promptly. She is such a pleasure to have handle such a life changing occasion. Thank you so much Loretta!

Loretta is so sweet and down to earth, it was easy to like her! Loretta literally saved the day for us! To make a long story short, we had three prior officiants fall through and with less than a day before our wedding! I was stressed to say the least but Loretta responded ASAP via email and with a phone call to reassure she could help. She was relaxed, positive and we made a game plan together which made me feel confident. The next day she arrived to greet us and provide us with the sentiments(short, sweet and humorous) we wanted for our wedding. I'm actually happy the other choices didn't work because she was a true professional that I would highly recommend to anyone needing an officiant.

Lorretta was the best choice for an officiant. She had wonderful examples on her website to help with writing your own ceremony and really making it special vs one that everyone uses. She was available for meetings and phone conversations throughout the whole process! Day of she was helpful with planning and making sure everyone knew what they were suppose to be doing. I would highly recommend if you are getting married in or around Portland to pick Lorretta. She was perfect!

Loretta was a wonderful officiant. Her initial responses were quick and we were very please that she could fit us into our schedule. The blessings we chose were from her website and we changed the poem, Loretta was so easy to work with. Our ceremony was at The Grant House and being a sunny day Loretta suggested we held the ceremony on the balcony which was a wonderful idea. Loretta has a lovely, calming way about her and the blessings were lovely to listen to. We would strongly recommend her.

Mrs Loretta was fantastic.She was a pleasure to work with. She listened and heard every dumb question my wife and I asked and found something positive out of it. She is so down to earth it was so easy to ask her any questions. She sent us ideas when writing our vows and when asked gave us input. She was very accommodating nothing seamed to bother her.She fulfilled our needs. I know this sounds a bit much but when it was all said and done she was one of the few things we did not have to worry about.

With funds a concern we had we chose to go with an officiant not knowing how smoothly that would be. We found a venue and a DJ. 90 out of the 120 guests showed up and had a great time. She was worth much more to us than she asked. I don't give five stars out even if they are great. But during a time like planning a wedding and all the stress that we went through she was awesome.

Loretta was amazing from day one of this journey. First thing I liked was the price, but then it was her warmth and flexibility. I had talked to other candidates before her, like judges, and they were.... "Just business". I felt weird corresponding with them. But Loretta, was like talking to a friend. One that cared about my special day. I don't know how many times We changed our plans and she just rolled with it. When we decided to get married at the beach, I was afraid we'd have to find someone else because it was over 2 hours from her home, but no, she just rolled with it. (And her new price was still lower than local officiants). We corresponded through emails throughout this journey. She always responded quickly and with the kind words you'd get from you're family or friends. She was the one aspect of this whole thing I could count on to go right. And then our day was here. I'm kind of a shy person when meeting people but I honestly couldn't wait to meet her face to face. She met at our beach house at my request. She walked into a houseful of people and she rocked it. (Our family said how great she was and how much they really liked her after the wedding).
She was so professional and warm at the same time. We got down to the beach and she quickly organized us so the beach would be in the background for the pictures, which was great because at that point I had no clue what I was doing since it was just a very casual ceremony. After the ceremony she even took pictures of all of us. She also sent the paperwork quickly. I had my certified copy in hand 1 week later, which I really needed for insurance and everything else!
She was perfect. I'm sad I have no more reasons to email her. We were very blessed to have her.

I can't thank or praise Loretta enough. Nothing went according to plan, it rained, the music stopped in the middle, the make-up and hair session went late, and several other things went awry, yet she went with the flow with such warmth and grace! It was perfect!

We had a very pleasant experience. We met up with Lorretts at a local coffee shop and, she took the time to get to know us. She took into consideration the absence of our grandparents and in a unique way brought in their memory to our ceremony. We both were very happy with her.

Since we lived out of the state we were married in, I found Loretta on a website. She was very responsive to emails and quick to reply, which made it seem as though she would be wonderful. However, on the day of the rehearsal, things were very disorganized (even though she said she would handle it in our contract) and asked ME to organize and arrange people. Furthermore, it did not seem as though she remembered what we had agreed upon. On the day of the wedding, she brought her HUSBAND to our ceremony... and he was just wondering around until our coordinator had to tell him to sit down. Lastly, she called us by the wrong last name!!!! Seriously. She did seem sorry about this, and I understand that it's wedding season...but we only have 1 marriage ceremony in our lifetime so it's important to remember the bride and groom's last name. At least our guests said it was entertaining.

I am so sorry my services did not meet your expectations. I hope you accept the refund that I mailed off to you yesterday as my way of sincere apology.

You and your rehearsal and ceremony were very important to me.
For the rehearsal I thought I followed the notes from our emails and from the Questionnaire and as we had talked them thru with your coordinator before we began . If I failed to do this my sincere apology.

My husband rode along with me as we had an appointment just prior to the ceremony, the plan was he was going to sit in the restaurant and enjoy his book. The intent was not for him to be attending the wedding.

When I saw that that a microphone was not set up, I did find the gentleman with the band who was able to provide a microphone. Due to a long list of initial issues with the microphones and the stand, my husband who is an experienced sound person tried to help the gentleman tape the stand, and adjust it, and luckily a clip for the mic was found just a few minutes before the ceremony start. All seemed well with the final test. My husband walked to the rear to exit just as the ceremony was to start and perhaps did not get out of the away as quickly as he hoped. Again my apology.

Unfortunately the microphone then failed soon after we began and the cordless microphone did not work.

After your exit, and I was explaining to everyone to please have a refreshment and tour the grounds while family photos were taken, how or why I announced your last name incorrectly I can't explain. It is not something has happened before and was truly a nightmare occurrence.
