Rueben was an absolute dream wedding photographer! I could not be happier with our wedding day photos, and working with Rueben and his team was such a pleasure from start to finish. From the get-go, Rueben was incredibly communicative, professional, and easy to work with. He was attentive to what I was looking for and came more than prepared for our big day with a clear plan and timeline.
I think what truly sets Rueben apart is his calming presence and ability to make you feel completely at ease. Rueben made my husband and I feel so comfortable and confident—every pose felt natural, and he captured all the emotion and joy without anything ever feeling staged or forced.

Hiring Rueben and his team at Loose Tie Photography was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. We hired his team for both photography and videography. From our engagement shoot through to the last dance of our wedding day, the quality of our photos and videos is absolutely stunning and we've received countless compliments. But what truly set Loose Tie apart was the experience.
Rueben immediately made us feel comfortable, which was so refreshing as we were worried we'd look awkward during posed photos. He has this rare ability to be incredibly sharp and calculated in his craft, while also being the most laid-back person in the room. He listened intently to our vision, provided advice where we needed help, and effortlessly guided us into natural, fun, and genuine poses, making the entire process feel less like a chore and more like hanging out with a friend. We were also thrilled with how seamlessly Rueben and his team worked with our dog, who was a big part of both the engagement and wedding photos!
The preparation leading up to the wedding was exceptional. Rueben and Melissa took the time to visit our family property (our wedding shoot location) twice just to carefully scout locations, map out specific shots, and track where the sun would hit at the perfect time of day. He mirrored this level of diligence at our main venue as well. This calculated approach ensured every moment was captured beautifully and perfectly timed, yet on the wedding day itself, we never once felt stressed about the timeline or logistics.
On the day of the wedding, Rueben and his team were a seamless, nearly invisible presence. They managed to capture every key moment without ever being disruptive. Our bridal party and family constantly commented on how awesome, professional, and friendly the whole team was.

Super professional from start to finish. Everything you would want from a wedding photographer. Best. Photographer. Ever!
Best photographer ever for our best day ever! We first met Rueben for our engagement shoot, and he immediately made us feel comfortable. Meeting him before the big day was great, and he gave us plenty of tips to look natural during the shoot. He made the experience so fun that we both want to make photoshoots a regular thing!
On our wedding day, Rueben and Melissa were professional, upbeat, and brought amazing energy. They made the day even more fun, and our family loved them too! Loose Tie Photography are very good at what they do. When first meeting Ruben I was nervous about what questions to ask, appon meeting him any questions I thought of were answered. When ever I would call with more questions or requests he was very easy to talk to. When we received the photos of our wedding it was more than I've imagined. If you want a crew that makes you feel relaxed and happy even when you hate taking pictures then loose tie is it for sure. Everyone else I talked to felt so robotic and so expensive. Ruben was flexible and so easy to work with. His photos are gorgeous. My husband hates photos and he felt so great after. The team is so personable and experienced. My family loved them at the wedding. They don’t make it weird to smile in front a camera. Felt like family. 10/10 thank you all for such a great experience! -

You literally cannot go wrong with Rueben
I have been re-watching all the videos and staring at the photos so much my computer might give out! Rueben and his team could not have done a better job, from the engagement shoot to the wedding finished product. The mother of the bride is absolutely over the moon with how everything turned out, and we are even happier than she is. We recently got our wedding album from Rueben and I can't stop looking at the photos! They came out so nice and it's so awesome that we'll have these beautiful photos to look back on.
Rueben was super easy to work with from day one. He helped answer all of my questions (at times I was a frantic covid bride), he was very patient and flexible throughout the process.
When Wedding Day finally arrived, Rueben was punctual and very organized. He had all the shot locations planned out ahead of time, it made things for the wedding party really easy!
I don't consider myself to be very photogenic, but Rueben really helped me relax and most importantly made it FUN!
Our wedding party gave us many compliments on how great Rueben and his assistant, Amanda, were to work with!

It was such a pleasure to work with Rueben and Amanda! We hired them for our wedding. They've been very professional. We met with them before the event, and discussed our preferences. We asked for advice where we can take pictures with the ocean, and they eventually took us to a beautiful place on our day!
The guys were flexible with our schedule and ensured we didn't miss anything on our wedding, and, at the same time, had plenty of great pictures.
Also, wanted to note that Rueben was very responsive over messaging and addressed all my questions and concerns.

We planned a winter wedding in 3 months or less, and he was very flexible and supportive. He did a good job of organizing windows of opportunity to get the photos we wanted from each part of the event. He worked and socialized well with the site director and our guests, and helped our special day run more smoothly. He is a great photographer. All of our photos were great quality, with nice poses and candid moments. He also captures backlit photos, indoor photos, and photos when it is dark out very well - this was important because our reception was indoors just after sunset. He is a very skilled and experienced photographer who offers a very competitive price, and is dependable, fun, friendly and approachable. We are so happye we met him, and hope he is free to document your wedding too!

Julie Sent on 01/29/2018Rueben is extremely talented. He's also super creative. (Less of the boring "been there, done that" stuff you see all over). We love the moments he grasped on our special day. We highly recommend using him! Especially if you're in the Monterey area - since he knows many of the beautiful backdrop locations to really make your photos go that extra step. He's also been doing this long enough to give you wedding coordinator/music/DJ suggestions as well - believe us you should take it! It'd make the day run smoother if your vendors all know and love working with each other!

Our engagement photos went wonderfully. Rueben has a very creative eye! He has chosen a great profession.
I choose two photographer for our wedding and I am very glad I did. I suggest anyone to get two photographers rather one. It helps to get all angles.

Reuben was very dedicated to making all our pictures perfect. He did a great job working with us & our guests, making sure everyone felt comfortable and excited to be in pictures. He was very flexible and easy to work with and helped us figure out good photo shoot locations and timing for beautiful shots that matched what we wanted.
The photo booth was very fun, with unique props and the ability to print and text links to guests.
He went above & beyond making sure every little detail was captured beautifully. If we needed any photos in the future we'd definitely work with Loose Tie Photography again! -

After discovering Loose Tie Photography on WeddingWire and seeing some of Rueben's posts on his Instagram account we were hoping him and his team would be available for our big day! We got engaged and found a venue all under a year's time and we knew we had to act quick. Thankfully, the team was available. Rueben had another wedding to shoot that day but he set us up with Ashley who was absolutely amazing. They came out for a site visit a month before the big day to check out lighting and photo settings. The day of the wedding they were punctual and worked their butts off trying to get all the good shots with the sunlight we had left! What was awesome was that they weren't in our faces and moved around the outdoor space and dance floor with grace and ease that almost made them feel like they were guests at our wedding. The final product was amazing! Super happy with our photos. The only somewhat negative (hence the 4 stars) was the Videography. Since my grandmother couldn't be there for the big day she wanted a raw footage video (no fancy edits or music) of the entire wedding and ceremony. For whatever reason, the videographer (I forget his name) only took video of the wedding ceremony and nothing of the reception (he left shortly after the ceremony). With all the activity of the wedding happening around us, we didn't notice he was gone until the first dances were taking place. Not sure what happened as he was contracted for the entire time alongside with the photo team. After the honeymoon, we contacted Rueben who apologized and worked with us financially to recover some of the costs for the video as it was not completed according to plan. All in all, working with Loose Tie was a great experience and I highly recommend them for Photography. Thank you! -
