I cannot say enough good things about Lois Mathews! She truly created my DREAM wedding florals. She was also a dream to work with— generous with her time arranging meetings and phone calls, always responding quickly to messages, and she manages a great balance of adhering to my vision and inspirations photos while also adding her own artistry and ideas. She has a large collection of vases, candles, pots, etc that she threw in for free and even acquired some new ones and spray painted others to match my color scheme. There were definitely more florals and decorations than we paid for on wedding day! She really is a full-service floral designer who takes care of her brides.
On wedding day, I started crying when I saw the ceremony space. She created a broken arch that was huge and stunning, and she transported it to my reception behind the sweetheart table. My bridal bouquet was full of movement and color and I just kept admiring all the different beautiful vases and flowers on every table. Guests and other vendors were complimenting her work all night.
I would highly recommend Lois, especially if you’re a creative person with a unique vision! She’s a talented artist and a passionate, kindhearted person who made my wedding so special. -

A true creative and a real professional
How do we thank Lois enough for the glorious setting she created for our wedding reception? It cannot be done! But it is worth sharing: I am truly amazed at how much she cares and how intuitive she is. She was able to capture what was a rather elusive, dreamy scene in my head -- one of warmth, loveliness, and romance -- and her work inspired so many of our beloved guests with its abundance and timelessness. The comments just kept coming after the beautiful day had ended! What an absolute, terrific gift she made to us through her skills and efforts, and through her friendship throughout the process. Lois is a natural creative with both figurative and literal storehouses of resources and experience that she will pull from to bring your dream to life! Can't recommend her enough if you are wanting your flowers to bring vibrancy and life to your special day. -

Lois did such an amazing job with the florals at our wedding. She envisioned exactly what we wanted and made it all come to life in a way that was even more beautiful than we had imagined. She is such a pleasure to work with and puts so much love and care into her work. 10/10 recommend! -

GREAT experience!
Lois provided the floral decorations for my wedding- both ceremony & reception. From the arch and creating an isle on our lawn to the tent & tables (including candles) & even leaving some extra flowers for us to decorate our wedding cake, everything was even better than I had envisioned. My husband and I live in Texas so we were planning our wedding from a far with the help of my parents who live locally. Lois was willing to set up a meeting while I was in town for a quick visit to discuss my vision and ideas for the big day. At the beginning, I had hoped to include a flower native to Texas. Lois worked tirelessly to try and make that happen and even provided me with some similar colored/sized flowers to choose from as a backup. In the end, I decided to go with sunflowers and boy, did Lois deliver! There were over 300 sunflowers at my wedding and it was absolutely incredible. The wedding and reception were both in Point Loma and I didn’t want the sunflowers to make the theme too country, but Lois and her team did an amazing job at creating my dream wedding. The weekend I got married was also the weekend that San Diego was preparing for its first tropical storm to hit in 84 years, but that didn’t scare away Lois. She made sure the arch and all other floral decorations were secured and we enjoyed them throughout the night without worry, and took many inside after the reception to enjoy into the next week. Lois has a gift for floral design, helped me with suggestions when I wasn’t sure, and did a wonderful job creating exactly what I wanted for our special day. She has a wealth of decorating knowledge and energy! -

Amazing to work with!
Working with Lois was an absolute dream come true. She has such an extensive knowledge of flowers and an amazing ability to know what will make the most beautiful arrangement! She is also just incredibly friendly and easy to work with. She listens to what you want and gives you ideas that you hadn't thought of. Can't recommend enough. My florals were exactly what I wanted. -

I interviewed a few different San Diego florists for my wedding day, but after I spoke with Lois I knew she was perfect for what I was looking for. Whereas other florists nickel-and-dime you for every single flower arrangement you'll need (which seriously adds up between ceremony arches, personals, and reception tables), Lois works with your budget and includes SO much for a flat fee. She has a whole barn full of materials and provided centerpieces (including lanterns and candles), baskets to line our ceremony aisle, and cake and dessert stands, which I would have otherwise had to buy or rent myself (and likely never use again). I had even forgotten to tell her we ordered a welcome sign, and came to find on the day-of that she added florals to that as well! You're really getting the most bang for your buck with Lois.
And creatively, Lois has a great eye for design and delivered STUNNING florals. In our consultation she got to know my color scheme, overall vision, and likes/dislikes, but then I put my full trust in her to deliver with minimal oversight or input needed from me. It relieved SO much of my stress leading up to the big day. And at the wedding, my guests were floored by the details and florals: they were fresh, beautiful, and completely captured the vibe I was going for! She even slightly up-leveled my maid of honor's bouquet to distinguish it from the other bridesmaids' which was SUCH a thoughtful touch. Not to mention Lois is the sweetest person and easy to collaborate and communicate with. I highly recommend using her for your wedding! -

Lois did the flowers for my daughter's wedding. She made it so simple by meeting with us and getting an understanding of what my daughter envisioned. The flower arrangements were the best I have seen in years. Lois showed up in plenty of time and worked so well with our wedding planner making everything picture perfect. All the guests were so impressed with her arrangements. I highly recommend Lois for weddings and any special events. She is professional , on time and ensures the customer is fully satisfied with her work. -

Lois is amazing!!!
From the moment I met Lois, I knew I wanted to work with her for my wedding. She’s amazing and one of a kind - so positive, energetic and talented. When I started the wedding planning process, I had a general sense of the ambiance I wanted, but it was difficult for me to put into words. Lois took the time to sit down with me, talk through ideas, and really understand my vision. She was always professional, easy to communicate with and made me feel comfortable and confident that she would have everything taken care. When wedding day arrived, she did not disappoint! All of the florals, from the bouquets to the table arrangements, were absolutely gorgeous. Lois made my vision come to life, and I couldn’t be happier! We got so many compliments on the flowers from our guests. Having Lois as part of my wedding team was the best decision I made. I highly recommend her and hope I have the chance to work with her again! -

We loved working with Lois Mathews! She is professional, creative, imaginative and delivers on what she promises. She listened and then worked her magic to create my daughter’s dream wedding. Floral design is not just a vocation for Lois, she puts both her experience and her heart into what she does. She even included her personal antique candle sticks for the table decorations. If you need flowers, floral design or help laying out the tables in the room for the reception, Lois is your gal! -

Working with Lois was easily the best decision I’d made when planning my wedding. From the first time we spoke, she was enthusiastic, friendly and just put me at ease and I immediately knew that I wanted to work with her. She clearly loves what she does and she is amazing at it! Although I was planning my wedding from the Bay Area, she made time to FaceTime me to discuss ideas and what I wanted for my overall vision. Which she made sure that we followed up on my quick trip to San Diego so she was sure to give me exactly what I wanted and more. In the months in between she was readily available to discuss any new ideas or changes I’d made with the venue.
If Lois is available, hire her and I promise she’ll be able to make you vision come to life and give you a sense of peace within all the other craziness of wedding planning! -

Working with Lois on the vision of my wedding was an awesome process. I wasn't quite sure what went into planning the florals of a wedding but Lois guided me perfectly. We visited her at her home and looked at all the goodies she has to share with her brides, and she even allowed me to return a second time with my mom to take a look and discuss the wedding a little bit further.
I sent Lois so many pictures of my vision and explained in detail how I wanted each and every thing, and she made it all come to life so beautifully. I got SO many compliments the whole night and days following on how gorgeous my flowers were and how beautifully they were all put together.
Lois took my vision, ran with it, and made it more than I could have ever asked for! I highly recommend her to any brides who aren't sure where to go with their flowers, or any bride that has her exact vision planned out because boy can Lois execute your vision and then some. -

A Bohemian Bride’s Dream to Work With
Short version: Lois was a dream to work with, her floral arrangements were stunning, and I highly recommend her!
Longer version: I found Lois when I was phoning around in a panic trying to find another florist after my first one turned out to be unreliable. The previous florist couldn’t seem to understand the vision I had for my wedding even after months of back and forth; in contrast, Lois understood immediately during our first phone call. I said “bohemian” and Lois responded by describing a vision of eclectic antiques and loose, local garden themed floral arrangements. I sent her a swatch of my bridesmaid dresses and she specifically scoured local farmers markets—where she gets almost all her flowers—for the exact color, which she found. She also included succulents from her personal garden in my bridal bouquet. In addition, Lois works out of a beautiful rustic barn that full of every sort of vase and floral arranging option that you can think of, which she let me explore and choose specific pieces from for the table arrangements. I picked some pieces and trusted her to choose the rest and it worked out perfectly. Lois is very experienced, and everything came together well. Half the tables had low arrangements and half had tall arrangements, all done in a way that did not block guests across the tables while also creating movement and flow throughout the venue. The florals received many compliments from guests that evening. Thank you, Lois and team, for your hard work and beautiful floral arrangements! -

I’ve put off writing this review because honestly I didn’t even have the words to do her justice. Lois is incredible. She is the sweetest, most genuine, loving and talented people I’ve met. Our wedding flowers were absolutely flawless. So many things went wrong on my wedding day, more than I imagined, the flowers were the only thing that were pure perfection. I’m still in awe when I look at our pictures. Lois truly brought our vision to life. Honestly she just went above and beyond. She did so much beautiful work and implemented her wonderful creativity. I couldn’t have imagined our flowers being this beautiful. People still talk about how beautiful our flowers were. I think they helped take away attention from all the things that went wrong because people were speechless how beautiful they were. Lois is not just talented, she’s just a genuinely beautiful human being. She knows flowers and you can give her the freedom to be creative, she will go above and beyond. I really wanted petals at the ceremony but we were already over budget so I decided against them. Lois decided to surprise me with them anyway the day of, unfortunately it was so windy they kept blowing away. Being the creative Lois, she incorporated them into my reception. I’m so grateful that I know Lois and that she was a part of my day. She will make your day beautiful and flawless. I still haven’t been to a wedding with flowers as beautiful as mine. Thank you for everything. I can’t wait to work with you again. -

Lois was an absolute pleasure to work with and we had a great connection from the minute I met her. She understood my vision right away and executed it to perfection... did I also mention she was also affordable?

Julia Sent on 11/22/2017I was married just 11/5 and couldn't wait one more second to post this review. From the very beginning Lois was warm and inviting when welcoming us to her studio. My sister and I immediately felt like we were spending time with an aunt. Through the whole process she was so generous with her time and welcome to the many photos I sent her. When I had any adjustments in mind (and mine were at the last minute SORRY LOIS!) she had no issues at all. When I arrived at my venue, I was OVERWHELMED by how amazing everything looked. She captured my vision and desires MORE THAN PERFECTLY! It's like she got inside my head and found every little girl fantasy and every Pinterest inspo I saved and made them BETTER. She even, without me telling her, picked out my EXACT favorite rose (David Austin Juliet) and made everything better than I expected or could have dreamed of. Don't hesitate to call her, she is MORE than worth it. Everyone said I looked like royalty and that the wedding made everyone feel like they were in a dream. Thank you Lois from the bottom of my heart.

It was so great to be able to go to her barn and actually see all of the vases and other items that she could use for the wedding, which I had not experienced with any other florist. She really listened to my vision and made it come to life. The flowers for the wedding were gorgeous and we could not have been happier with the results!

From the beginning of our first consultation, Lois had the right feel for our wedding. We were able to bounce ideas off of each other, using her years of experience, and found the perfect floral arrangement for our special day.
Lois kept in touch with us as needed throughout the planning process, and was always quick to respond to my emails. Considering our ideal flowers weren’t always guaranteed, due to them being seasonal, Lois had a slew of ideas ready as a backup just in case. Luckily, our flowers were available, and our vision came to life.
The day of the wedding came and Lois and her team did an amazing job. The flowers were so beautiful and her team was on top of everything. Lois truly did such an amazing job and I can’t thank her or recommend her enough! -

She was recommended to us by the catering manager at our wedding venue, who told us that Lois has consistently provided beautiful floral arrangements for many weddings and is friendly and warm and wonderful to work with. This turned out to be a perfect description of Lois! Lois met with us several times prior to our wedding to really get to know what we wanted for our floral arrangements. Because neither of us really had any idea what we wanted, we gave her a general description of the overall vibe we wanted and our color scheme and she ran with it. She was so helpful and knowledgeable and was able to make what turned out to be great recommendations. It was clear that she had put significant time and effort into her creations when we saw them on our wedding day. There were wonderful little surprises everywhere. For example, one of her assistants had added little jewels to the groom’s boutonniere and it looked amazing. Lois also knew that we wanted some sparkles, but not in the bridal bouquet, so she added sparkles to the handle of the bouquet. The centerpieces were amazing – each one was different! She was also present for a large part of our wedding celebration, reminding us to hold the cascading bouquet properly right before walking down the aisle and during the pictures that followed. She also made sure that the florals that were being used during both the ceremony and reception were properly moved. Everything was just beautiful! We would absolutely recommend Lois! -

Lois takes all the extra time and energy to learn about the bride and understand her personality and style. She is personable, kind, fun, and ever so patient and generous during a bride's busy engagement / wedding planning season. I could not recommend her more. Growing up, I had seen her create such beautiful arrangements for family and friends and I knew I wanted Lois for my own wedding when the time came... she lived up to my dreams and then some. She's a class act every time! She adorned my wedding from head to toe with handpicked flowers. I also greatly appreciated her honesty and expertise opinion. Every bride is faced with a million decisions, and Lois offered a wonderful balance of making the bride feel free yet supported with expert direction (e.g., sharing what flora and fauna are best in the season). I have my flowers saved from my bridal shower and wedding day. Thank you for helping make my wedding season as beautiful as it was, Lois! -
