Allison and Katie were GREAT!! Absolutely loved them! They were so sweet and personable. I have thick long naturally curly hair, which many people don’t know how to handle, but Allison KILLED it!! She made my hair look exactly like my inspiration photo! And Katie did a phenomenal job on my makeup. She listened to what I wanted and did it! I can’t say enough about these ladies, they felt like family when they left! My bridesmaids also loved them and their work! Thank you both very much❤️ -

Let me tell you these ladies know their craft and they are absolutely engaging and professional and true artists. From the first trial run of my hair and makeup to the final run, the made sure I looked stunning. They pivoted when I worried the makeup would end up too shiny, and they took the look I was going for and perfected it. My daughter is getting married. I really hope these ladies will travel. Sweetest Team, Beautiful Work, and Wedding-Day Calm
Locks & Lashes did hair and makeup for me, my bridal party, moms, and grandmothers, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I found them because I noticed almost every couple at our venue used them — and after getting quotes from at least 12 other professionals, they were by far the most reputable team for the best price. Some were cheaper, but the quality just didn’t compare.
Their communication was amazing from the start — super responsive, kind, and helpful. My bridal trial went perfectly, and I felt so heard throughout the whole process. They even took amazing photos and videos of my trial look, which helped me share with friends and even my hair colorist to make sure everything matched before the big day.
On my wedding day, they made me feel so calm and at peace. I trusted them completely, and it showed. They built in plenty of buffer time, stayed on schedule, and even left time for touch-ups before we walked out the door. It was July and I was sweating buckets, but my hair held up perfectly all night long. My makeup did separate a little by the end of the night, but honestly, nothing could’ve survived how hot and active the day was — and it looked flawless in all the photos that mattered most.
Their shop is adorable, but they also came to us, which was a huge help. They were the absolute sweetest girls — so kind, professional, and even familiar with our venue, which helped calm my nerves even more.
I would 100% recommend Locks & Lashes to any bride who wants a caring, talented team that brings great vibes, incredible skill, and real wedding-day peace. They’re everything you’d want in a beauty team and more. -

Amanda (hair) and Christina (makeup) knocked it out of the park! Not only were they super friendly and professional, they made sure everyone was happy and comfortable. There were no issues with communication, anytime I had a question, Amanda would answer. They came recommended to me by a friend who was a bridesmaid in a wedding they did. My hair and makeup trial lasted through the worst humidity and crazy thunderstorm. I cannot recommend them enough! You will not go wrong with them 💕 -

Madisyn and Katie were wonderful to work with and did an amazing job on the hair and makeup for me, my four bridesmaids and mom. Wonderful, patient and efficient!
I hired the locks&lashes team for hair&make-up services, Madisyn and her team did a wonderful job! They were flexible with the timing of everyone in my bridal party and listened to input from my bridesmaids. They were ready to go as soon as we arrived at the wedding location, and quickly/seamlessly cleaned up and left. They also gave good advice for how to achieve the looks we wanted. Highly recommend! -

I am so happy that we went with Locks & Lashes for our wedding hair and makeup team! I was nervous because I do not usually wear a lot of makeup or get my hair done, but Allison and her team were super helpful. We did a trial run and she was super encouraging and very flexible when I changed the style I wanted after the trial. Her team was so great on wedding day, making sure we stayed on time and everyone stayed calm and relaxed. Everyone looked so beautiful both in-person and in the photos. We were married August 28, 2021 in the Charlottesville area and hired Allison from Locks and Lashes. Her and her team was AMAZING! I was able to go in for a hair trial, which I was so nervous about the style I should go with, and Allison helped me make a decision.

The ladies from Locks & Lashes did hair for my wedding this past Saturday (05/29/2021) not only for me, but for my 5 bridesmaids, my mother and mother-in-law. They were on-time, professional, super friendly and rolled with all the jokes my crazy group of friends made. They were also very accommodating to my mother who was running a bit late and is very insecure with her natural hair. She loved the finished look, I also loved mine. -

From start to finish I had a great experience with Kiala. I was unable to do my trial for my wedding day and she did AMAZING without having done that. She went off of pictures and did exactly what I was wanting and the airbrush makeup lasted all night long! Very professional and fun to be around even with the long drive to the venue they were just great! They got everyone's hair and makeup done in the perfect amount of time. I'm a COVID bride (original date was in April) and we ended up rescheduling twice before we finally got the big day we originally planned. Through it all, Allison worked with us to make sure that she, or another stylist from her salon, would still be able to do my hair for the big day! She responds quickly, is very friendly, and made my hair look exactly like the picture I showed her (that I found on Pinterest). My bridesmaids loved their hair as well! And even better: she doesn't charge a ridiculous amount, like some other places do, just because it's for a wedding! If you're getting married in the Lynchburg area, definitely consider Allison! -

Our wedding, like may others, was affected by COVID-19. We had to quickly relocate our ceremony/reception to Virginia in our hometown. I reached out to Locks & Lashes for hair & makeup artist to be on-site for my wedding and received a response immediately from Kiala. Pricing was super reasonable and booking came with a complimentary hair & makeup trial.
I always get nervous when other people do my hair and makeup because I am never happy with the results. So when I went for my trial with Kiala I didn;t know how I would react. She blew me away with how precise she was able to create the boho hair style that I wanted perfectly. Also my airbrush makeup was so beautiful and complimented me so well. She even recommened a lip color that I would ever have picked out for myseld and it was perfect.
Outside of just being able to make me feel beautiful and create the look I wanted for my wedding day, Kiala was truly my saving grace on the day of. While being surrounded by friends and family is blessing, it can cause stress on your wedding day. I opted not to have bridemaids and instead get ready on my own. Kiala created a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere which allowed me to calm my nerves before the big event.

Where do I even begin! Allison did such an AMAZING job on my hair and make-up for my big day! I'm not usually one to wear a full face of make-up and had really no idea how I wanted to do my hair or anything for that matter for my big day. When we met for my trial make-up and hair run she was so great in explaining everything and making sure I was comfortable with lashed being put on and things to that nature. She made me look beautiful with no direction from me. When the day of my wedding came, she arrived before I did to set up, and one of my bridesmaids was at the venue before me. I originally did not have this bridesmaid set up to have her make-up done, but Allison did it anyways and that bridesmaid and my maid of honor look amazing! She was such a pleasure to work with and was so accommodating that I was able to relax and enjoy what was happening! She is DEFINITELY a MUST HAVE for any wedding hair and make-up! ♥️ -

I went with Locks and Lashes based on the reviews I read and honestly, I could not have asked for a better hair and make-up artist for my wedding day! During my hair and make-up trial, I simply showed Allison pictures of some hair and make-up styles I liked from Pinterest, but really left it up to her. She managed to create exactly what I had imagined, despite my lack of description. Not only was my hair beautiful, but it held throughout my entire wedding day despite my hair thickness. As for my make-up, I was a little hesitant as I usually don't wear much. Allison was very accommodating and informative about the various products and methods she uses (airbrush vs. traditional). She truly created a very natural airbrush look for me that made me feel both comfortable and confident (plus it was super light and withheld all the tears I shed that day)!
In addition, Allison and her assistant provided traditional make-up and hair for a few bridesmaids, mother of the bride, and mother of the groom. Everyone looked absolutely stunning and was highly impressed with Allison's (and her assistant's) work. Overall, I was super satisfied with the services Allison and her assistant provided and highly recommend her for those seeking beautiful hair and make-up for various occasions! -

Great experience with lots of talent
Madisyn from Lockes and Lashes was great to work with! She was very professional and kind. We did my trial a few weeks before the wedding, which went well. We discussed some minor changes to my hair and makeup to do during the wedding and she was able to take those considerations and make everything just how I wanted it! She did a great job with my bridesmaids hair and makeup as well. We were given lipstick touch up kits to use as well, which was a nice touch! We appreciated her calm demeanor and professionalism. She truly represents the company well and I highly recommend her! -

Allison, Kiala, and Lydia did an amazing job! I had to move my wedding date due to COVID-19 and Allison did everything she could to make sure I still got a hair and make-up trial before the big day. She took so much time with me to make sure I loved my look and even offered to come in the next day if I wanted to change anything.
She and the girls were extremely professional and efficient on my wedding day. They took such good care of my bridesmaids and we all left loving their work! I cannot thank them enough for the peace of mind they gave me, knowing that all my bridesmaids were happy. They also did such a good job listening to what WE wanted and making our vision come alive. They are absolutely a gem for hair and make up and I will definitely go back in the future for other services!

I tried two other stylists for trials and they were both disasters. I booked Locks and Lashes at the last minute and was so thankful it worked out. Overall, I would recommend Locks & Lashes to a bride looking for hair and makeup for a wedding. I had my makeup done by an assistant for my engagement photos as a "trial run" and it went off without a hitch. She was sweet, traveled to me, and our pictures turned out great.
For the wedding, Allison and a different assistant did beautiful hair and makeup for me (bride), my 3 bridesmaids, and 3 mothers/mother figures on my wedding day. Allison was happy to accommodate me as my list of people needing services grew between initial hire and the wedding date. I did a trial run of both hair and makeup with Allison and had a few changes I wanted to make, and Allison was very capable in executing the changes I envisioned without needing a second trial. I felt stunning on my wedding day, and my bridesmaids and moms/mother figures all looked amazing. The makeup read beautifully in our pictures, and my makeup lasted easily past the end of the reception.
My only negative aspect of the review was around responsiveness/professionalism. I believe Locks & Lashes upgraded their communication system between my initial contact and the wedding, and there were a few messages that took longer than expected to get responses, sometimes needing to send follow-up messages if I didn't hear back. We began using email then switched over to the website. When both went without responses (sometimes), we eventually landed at just texting each other. This worked best for us, and responses were generally consistent after that point. I prefer email or a hosted site to keep track of all the messages, but other brides may feel more comfortable with keeping in contact via text, and it is definitely nice to have a phone number day-of in case something comes up.
We had one issue that centered around scheduling. We scheduled an appointment for a trial run that got written in wrong on Allison's end, leading to a misunderstanding between us. I don't think that it was handled very professionally, at first, but once the misunderstanding was cleared up, Allison was quick to make it right.
All in all, the work was beautiful and lasted all night. The communication issues were a bit of a headache, but you may not have the same experience (or preferences) as I did.Locks & Lashes's reply:

Love her!!
Allison was amazing to work with for my engagement session! She did my hair and my makeup to basically what I was envisioning. It was my first time hiring a hair and makeup person, and I chose her out of like 10 people because she is super down to earth, responsive to messages/emails, and has decent prices.
When she did everything, I felt like she communicated well what she was going to do in case I had any concerns.
The wind was bad that day so my hair kinda came loose, but her makeup stayed on the whole day without any splotchiness :).
I totally recommend her services since they are fairly priced, she spends a lot of time making you feel perfect & beautiful, and is easy to talk with! Thanks so much Allison! I can’t wait to have you also for my wedding day :) -

Allison and her friend served as the hair and makeup artists for my wedding. I wish that I could give them a higher review, but I was not impressed with their day of service. They arrived late and finished 2 hours behind schedule. We had to rush to start taking pictures of the bridal and groom crew. When they arrived, I could tell that they were in a bad mood. They seemed exhausted and I questioned whether they were hungover or not. I wanted the hair and makeup environment to set the stage with a positive attitude and good customer service. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and the entire bridal party felt the same way. Allison and her assistant acted like they did not want to be there, and it was very apparent based on their negative attitudes. Very disappointing. Additionally, one of my bridesmaids is a woman of color. Her makeup did not match her skin tone and was MUCH lighter. She expressed her discomfort with being shades lighter than her natural color, and they did not seem to regard her complaint as valid. This is awful customer service and really made my friend feel uncomfortable. My friend ended up re-doing her own makeup upstairs after they failed to listen to what she wanted and would not take responsibility for their mistake. Overall, I would not recommend these two for hair and makeup based on their lack of professionalism and maturity. I would choose another company with more experience and perhaps who are older and more professional.Locks & Lashes's reply:

I am sorry to hear that you were unsatisfied with your services. We arrived only 15 minutes late due to getting lost with no service where your venue was. Upon arrival, myself and my assistant were both car sick from the curvy roads. I appreciate the time your mom took to check in on me as I was extremely sick after the ride. I am sorry your experience wasn’t great and you felt that we were unhappy to be there. We were super happy to be there however, just got very sick on the drive there. In regards to your bridesmaid , we have worked with darker skin tones before and matched her to her neck color. When she was dissatisfied, we did offer and did perform the service using her own personal foundation.
Once again we are sorry that things beyond our control occurred - the winding roads, and lack of service causing us to be 15 minutes late. I would have been happy to make this right with you if you would like to reach out personally.
