For starters, Liz is phenomenal. My wife and I were at our wit's end when looking for a wedding photographer. We knew we were in good hands when we found Liz and had our first video conference call with her. The wedding pictures were so fantastic that they rekindled our experience and made us wish we could relive them. She helped to make this memory all the more special for us. But this is just the end result.
Liz is the right choice for you if you are very flexible and appreciate natural settings instead of rigid cues and poses! She noted this in our first meeting, and my wife and I breathed a sigh of relief. Capturing the natural moments helped us to envision the experience with our family and friends, considering that we lost precious loved ones before our wedding date. All in all, the process was lovely. Liz was absolutely prepared, with her assistant, to cover every angle and capture beautiful moments that we would not have anticipated. It was incredible to see how structured she is with planning and worked with us every step of the way with the timeline, shot list, special requests, and speed in which the online gallery was made available to us. In fact, speaking about responsiveness, there isn't a day when we would send an email and she would not get back to us within hours or a little later but within the same day.
And, I must talk about our engagement session. My wife and I had a private engagement years ago. However, we decided to have this session added to our package and are glad we did it. The pictures of our family, including our little ones, were stunning! Thank you, Liz Stewart Photography, for capturing our memories and allowing us to recall our wedding experience beautifully.

We could not have asked for a better photographer than Liz Stewart. Weddings come with countless stressors, but our photos were certainly not one of them. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Her direction is as fantastic as it is laid back. She did a fantastic job of making us feel comfortable and confident as her camera clicked away. She made putting together a shot list wonderfully easy, listening to every moment we wanted to capture as well as suggesting plenty of shots we had not considered. My mom made the wedding bouquets and table arrangements – so getting those details pictures was important to my husband and I. Even her knowing to get the details of the church and ceremony really makes our wedding photos so special. She made sure to familiarize herself with the Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony to make sure she captured the key moments. The variety of pictures we got for both our engagement and wedding was great – there were so many excellent shots that picking favorites for an album was nearly impossible! We were quite pleased to have this “problem.” Her eye for the best shots is clear in her work. The online gallery she uses is great for viewing, marking favorites, and is easy for sharing with others. We cannot recommend Liz Stewart enough. She captured the happiest and most important day of my husband’s and my life with beauty second only to the experience itself. -

Liz is an incredible photographer, and wonderful person to have on your team as you plan your wedding. She was so supportive when our plans began to change due to the coronavirus pandemic. Liz is professional and prompt, and did an excellent job keeping our wedding on schedule and capturing every meaningful moment.
Liz also took our engagement photos at the tidal basin during peak bloom of the cherry blossoms. She captured the natural beauty of that area so perfectly, and made us feel very comfortable in front of her camera. We will cherish those photos for many years to come.
I truly cannot say enough nice things about Liz, and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer that they can trust and depend on to not only deliver incredible photos, but to also make sure that your wedding day is everything you imagined and more. -

We had a wonderful day with Liz for our small wedding ceremony. She was so fun and professional and made sure we got all the shots we could have ever wanted! She kept us moving and was so very flexible in our changing plans. I cannot say enough great things about Liz. We heard about Liz by attending a friends' wedding last year, and she was the photographer. We had an initial facetime conversation with her and could tell immediately that we wanted to work with her; not-to-mention, she offered us a free engagement photo session to get to know each other in preparation for the big day. She sends you this step-by-step guide to help you throughout the process as I had no clue of all that was involved, and that goes into planning a wedding (from the photo timeline to the shot list and so much more). I was nervous about the timeline, and Liz helped to calm my fears by offering several suggestions based on her many years of experience. Unfortunately, on our wedding day, our timeline was thrown off by one mishap, and it ended up delaying the rest of the nights' events. What I love most about Liz is, despite the absolute chaos of that day, she remained perfectly calm. It takes a truly talented artist to capture candid photos as she did even though we were incredibly behind schedule. In the words of Aaron Siskind, "Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever..It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything." This is exactly what Liz did for us that day, and we can both look back at these images and remember that day exactly as it was. I would recommend her a million times over! -

We love Liz Stewart Photography and would hire her again in a minute.
Liz Stewart creates magic! She brings joy, energy and authenticity to her work that brings out the best in the bride, groom, wedding party and guests.
Our photos are so beautiful, and they reflect the time and thoughtfulness Liz invested getting to know the bride and groom before the wedding itself. Liz spent time with our daughter and son in law before they married to get to know their style and their dreams for the perfect wedding. She visited our various venues to check out lighting and other conditions. She shot a breath-taking sequence of engagement photos at the Washington Canoe Club that completely captured the happy couple, their smiles, their love and their devotion. Despite the cold wet weather, the engagement pictures are perfect. She managed to capture just the right balance of the happy couple, the spectacular scenery, and the colorful and funky vibe of the boat house and canoes.
Likewise, the wedding photos are stunning and encapsulate every happy memory. We had a complicated agenda- preparations at a home in Georgetown, formal pictures in the Bishop’s Garden at Washington National Cathedral, the wedding itself at Georgetown Presbyterian Church, then on to Decatur House for the reception. Liz was cheerful and flexible throughout, as was her partner, and thanks to Liz’s skilled planning and suggested scheduling, it all went off like clockwork. Our minister even commented on how professional Liz was, and she has recommended Liz to other brides!
Liz does a great job of asking beforehand what photos to capture, and true to her word, she got every shot requested, and then some! The formal pictures will be family keepsakes for years. And the spontaneous shots will always make us smile and remember the warmth and love of that big day. Her follow up was reliable and true to her commitment. Selecting photos was tough because there were so many great ones, but her recommendations made it easier. The final picture book was elegant, evocative and an absolutely perfect keepsake of a perfect day.
On a personal note, Liz is delightful to work with. She is smart, responsive, organized, on time, thoughtful, experienced, and kind. She understands and appreciates the importance of these special moments, and what they cost, and she will give her all to make the photography experience positive. Liz Stewart Photography will capture the beauty, energy and love of your event so that you will remember every wonderful detail for the rest of your life!

I hired Liz for my DC wedding in August 2018. Liz is extremely responsive, professional, personable, and produces the highest quality photography. I had no idea how much planning goes into the photography portion of the wedding (timeline, shot list, backup weather plans, transportation timing, etc.) and I am so lucky to have had Liz help guide me through this process – she was always a phone call away whenever I needed to run something by her. Liz first did our engagement shoot –Liz was extremely accommodating and rescheduled multiple times to try and catch the DC cherry blossoms at their peak. I am so happy we did the engagement shoot with her first – this allowed us to get to know one another and get used to posing. I’d say it was most important for my now husband who isn’t one to want to take lots of photos – he loved Liz and I felt like he could have kept going with the pictures all day. Now on to the wedding day photos – I’m overwhelmed with which photos to choose for my wedding album because I love them all; she also provides every photo in both color and B&W. Liz made everyone feel comfortable – my family, friends, etc. during the formal shoots outside in front of the Capitol. Whenever I’d start to worry about timeline, Liz eased my nerves and told me that was not my concern and we are on track. Having Liz by my side all day ended up being more beneficial/comforting than my day of coordinator – she even helped us figure out how to bustle my dress when we were struggling. Liz was on a mission to make sure we got all of the photos I requested in my shot list and yet Liz & her assistant photographer were hardly noticeable during the ceremony and reception (which is the way it should be!). I was worried about the reception pictures since it was outside at night with dim lighting but the pictures came out clear and bright. Liz provides first look engagement and wedding photos within a few weeks after the shoot and then full photos a few weeks later – she was never late on any date she told me she would have the photos by. Her online album to view the photos is great and makes it easy to share with others and download the photos in different resolutions. If you are looking for a photographer that takes pride in their work, has a sense of humor, takes the time to get to know you and customize the experience to what is most important to you, and of course – produces stunning high quality photography at a reasonable price– then Liz is your girl. -

Liz Stewart Photography Review
Liz has been amazing! From our first meeting to our wedding day she has been wonderful to work with and made us feel so comfortable. Our engagement pictures at the monuments are exactly what I dreamed of, every vision I had, she made come true. On our wedding day Liz and her assistant photographer were there for every moment and extremely helpful and patient. They kept our day on schedule and captured all our special moments. I highly recommend booking her ASAP! :) -

We chose Liz as our photographer for our wedding as she came highly recommended by our planner. She was so nice and easy to work with and our photos came out beautiful. We are so happy that we chose her. We didn't really know what we wanted from our photography, and Liz was able to walk us through our options and help us decide when and where to take certain pictures, and she was also very accommodating for anything that we did know we wanted. Additionally she was able to help us with our poses which we needed some help with as well.
A big positive was that she insisted that we do a photo shoot with her before the wedding. This helped us get comfortable with her and her process, which in retrospect was one less thing we had to worry about on the big day.
Also it is worth noting that we had a covid cancellation and we had no issues with her in terms of rescheduling.
Our photos came out fantastic, and we were so pleased with the quality and outcome. There are quite a few hanging around our living room at the moment. Overall Liz was professional, knowledgable, kind, and a joy to work with. I highly recommend her for wedding photography, especially if you don't know exactly what shots you want for your wedding and you want someone who can help direct you through it like we did. -

Working with Liz was such a pleasure, she shot our engagement and wedding photos and did our wedding album. Both photo sets turned out amazingly, we couldn't be happier with the results. Liz is also so easy to work with and makes you feel very comfortable. -
