We can’t say enough wonderful things about Alan and his band! We booked them before we had all of our details planned out for the big day, but they were very understanding and accommodating. Alan was the easiest vendor we worked with throughout our whole planning process (which says a lot bc they were all great). We had one or two songs in particular we wanted for the processional, but weren’t sure what other songs we’d like and honestly didn’t have the time to come up with options on our own. We told Alan the vibe we were after and he picked out music accordingly — and he absolutely nailed it all. From the ceremony musicians to the reception band and mc’ing, this group did an incredible job. So many guests came up to us throughout the night to tell us how great all of the music had been. Like we said, can’t say enough great things about this group. Thank you again for making our day even more special.

Amazing Experience & Great Communication - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
We had the absolute pleasure of working with Alan Retamozo and his team at Live Oak Music for our November 9th wedding at The Greenhouse at Driftwood, and they were incredible from start to finish.
We booked the String Trio with guitar for both the ceremony and cocktail hour, along with the audio add-on and it was 100% worth it. We had previously attended a wedding where we couldn’t hear the vows, so having clear, professional sound (especially on a very windy day) made a huge difference. Every word was heard perfectly.
Alan guided us through the entire music planning process, from selecting songs for the procession and recession to dialing in timing. He even created a custom bridal processional for us—something not already in their portfolio—at no additional cost. That level of care and flexibility meant so much.
He was also incredibly accommodating when we had to change our wedding plans from a larger event to a more intimate partial elopement with about 20 guests. As you can imagine, vendors book up quickly, and his willingness to make our new date work meant everything. We were very stressed during the transition, but he made the entire process feel effortless and gave us complete confidence.
On the day of, everything was executed flawlessly. The timing of each musical moment was perfect, and the live music created such a romantic, intimate atmosphere. Guests loved it from ceremony through cocktail hour. Their portfolio is also incredibly diverse, with unique pieces (a dream if you love LOTR like I do!).
Watching our ceremony video afterward, the music elevated the entire experience even more.
If you’re considering live music for your wedding, this is absolutely one of those “worth it” investments. You will not regret it. My only regret is not booking them for the reception!

Does Great JAZZ!
We hired the Jazz musicians from Live Oak for our wedding. They were amazing. They played our ceremony and cocktail hour. It was wonderful. The jazz gave it a really happy party vibe. The entrance to the jazz music was exactly what I dreamed it would be. They were wonderful to work with in the planning and really a great choice.

The extra magic a wedding needs
Having the live strings at our wedding ceremony was absolutely lovely. Alan was so responsive and they did such a wonderful job with our custom song arrangement request. They also have such a wide repertoire to choose from! On the day of, they had to move to be in a covered area in case of rain (luckily we didn't have any!) and it didn't affect the quality at all. They were so professional, and the music made the day that much more magical.

Perfect string quartet and jazz trio for our wedding!
We hired Live Oak strings for our ceremony and a jazz trio for cocktail hour, and both ensembles did amazingly. The strings did a great job for the songs we requested for the ceremony and the jazz. Trio was full of fun and creative playing. It was very easy, coordinating all the details prior to the event and on the day of we didn’t have to worry about anything and it all went smoothly. I would highly recommend Live Oak to anyone looking for live music at their event and would definitely use them again.

Violinist for Wedding
My husband and I wanted to add a personal touch to our wedding and decided to book a violinist. Live Oaks had tons of songs to choose for our ceremony and Alan was very friendly throughout the coordination process. Our violinist, Camille, was wonderful. So many of our guests came up to us throughout the night to tell us how much they enjoyed listening to her music. From the initial e-mails to the wedding day I am so happy with the professionalism/quick responses/and communication with this company. I spoke primarily with Alan via e-mails to set up logistics and everything went smoothly and as expected! He is very quick to respond, pleasant and professional. We had a pianist and violinist for the ceremony and cocktail hour who were great and the company even helped to create an arrangement for my bridal entrance song just as I wanted it! It rained and was freezing on our wedding day and the musicians handled it with professionalism and still played beautifully. Would highly recommend!

Live Oak Strings were a wonderful addition to both our ceremony and cocktail hour. We had the string duo play for the ceremony and the jazz trio play for our cocktail hour. They have an extensive repertoire of songs they can play. We handpicked a couple songs for the ceremony, but otherwise wanted them to pick songs that they felt would be fitting for the ceremony and it was perfect! Alan and the musicians at Live Oak Trio are a joy to work with. Not only are they talented individuals with a broad repertoire to meet every style and preference, they are communicative and so friendly. We decided on the strings trio for our ceremony and jazz quartet for cocktail hour.
My (now) husband requested a song for the processional that wasn't on their list, and they played it beautifully. Recorded music just wouldn't have created the sophisticated, lively atmosphere that we wanted for our intimate wedding at Justine's Secret House. Our guests absolutely loved it, and I will certainly keep Live Oak Trio in mind for future events. If you're on the fence, just go for it. You won't regret it!

Amazing! 10/10 recommend.
We loved having Live Oak Trio play for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour! They played so many beautiful songs and let us pick from their large repertoire in addition to learning three additional songs we requested for our ceremony. They are true professionals and I can’t recommend them enough!

Great addition to our wedding mass!
Hiring Live Oak Trio was a breeze and a great decision!!! The communication with Alan was easy and fast, and overall the service was excellent.
My wedding ceremony was at a Catholic church so there were several transitions and parts of the mass that the trio needed to play. Not only that, but Live Oak Trio had to coordinate all the songs and transitions with the Church cantor and pianist! Alan made sure to hear all my concerns and address those on different calls. Additionally, he made sure to have a call with the wedding cantor and pianist prior to the event, and even rehearse it to make sure everything went well.
At the end of the day, our ceremony was beautiful and everything worked out flawlessly!! I would highly recommend Live Oak Trio for brides that would like to have an extra "touch" to their ceremony!

Wonderful live music entertainment
The whole process with Alan was so smooth. He did an outstanding job and our guests had a wonderful time. We had a particular genre/ vibe we were going for and he nailed it. The music he provided really made for a great atmosphere. The contracting process was seamless and very helpful. When you are planning a wedding that's just what you need. LOVED our experience
Live Oak Trio was such an amazing addition to our wedding day and I'm so glad we decided to work with them! Alan and his team were easy to work with—quick to respond and helpful via email—and I loved that they were excited to accommodate our specific requests. They made my husband's processional dreams come to life by creating a mashup of Canon in D and the Jurassic Park theme song—a big hit with our guests who recognized the transition as I walked up the aisle. Later on, the band did a second line that paraded guests from the cocktail area to the dinner area—everyone got super into it and it really set the tone for the rest of the evening. Overall, Live Oak Trio added a wonderful touch to our wedding and created an amazing ambiance throughout the day—we received so many compliments about the music from our guests and would absolutely recommend them!!

With only a month to plan our wedding, LiveOak was not only quick to respond, Alan was amazing. The trio learned songs for our intimate ceremony, communicated throughout the 4 week clearly and directly, were amazing the Day of and timely! Beautiful Performance, Professional & Simple To Work With
Live Oak Trio's music for our ceremony was lovely and exactly what we were looking for! Working with them was super easy as they clearly laid out what their services entailed, and responded to any communication promptly. It was a lot of fun going through their list of song options which included takes on a lot of modern songs. Amazing group!
As a bride, although I didn't get to hear most of the music due to getting ready... I have to say that ALL of my family and friends were raving about Live Oak Trio! Our experience was amazing! Alan was very responsive and communicative throughout the entire time leading up to our event. He was always in touch with the planning of the music and details. I even had to add a microphone system close to the event because the venue did not have a system and Alan was right on it! He and his fellow musicians were very professional and talented. What a magical experience
We found Live Oak Trio because they played for our friend’s wedding back in 2017. Their music stood out because I recognized modern artists such as Borns and they played beautifully during that ceremony. We were eager to work with them when we became engaged and I locked them in for our date. It was so much fun to pick out key music we wanted in the ceremony—you can pick almost anything you’d like and they have a repertoire to play for the rest of the time so you don’t have to worry about choosing all these details. They played for both our ceremony and cocktail hour and we utilized their PA system and mics for the ceremony as well. Their communication throughout the whole year leading up to the wedding was on point and pricing was super fair. Don’t hesitate to book them for your event before someone else does!

A Wonderful Addition
Working with Alan and the Live Oak Trio was a delight from the very beginning. Not only was communication simple and efficient but Alan is also very kind and truly wanted to assist in any way that he could.
We were going for a lounge-y, cocktail vibe at our smaller, 35 person wedding and the Live Oak Trio could not have been a better addition to the evening. We got comments all night from our friends and family about how lovely it was to have a live jazz band and how cozy it made the event feel.
If you're considering booking them, absolutely go for it. You won't regret it!

Perfect soundtrack to our Laguna Gloria wedding!

Their combination of an extensive repertoire and their eagerness to learn our special (and pretty obscure!) requests was incredible and just what we needed. This is our second wedding with Live Oak Trio and once again they did not disappoint us! At our first daughter's wedding we requested they perform a Led Zeppelin song, that I believe was not on their song list, but it should be now as it was just beautiful. We did not hesitate to have the Trio perform at our second wedding. The Trio performed at both ceremonies and the cocktail hours and were so helpful with our music selections. Magical Wedding music
Live Oak Trio sounded wonderful at my daughter's wedding! First rate musicians. They had a great list of music in their repertoire, AND they were happy to learn the new pieces my daughter requested. Absolutely MADE our wedding day!
We really, really loved working with Live Oak – They were a breeze to communicate with leading up to the wedding, and knew all the musicians my husband referenced as his favorite. They were super flexible and accommodating and laid back, which was just all so calming!
We felt like we could count on them all the way through. We had a complicated set up for the music for our wedding – Live Oak played for a cocktail hour before dinner, and then a dessert cocktail hour after the dancing. They stuck around with no complaints, and both sets were perfect. They really made the vibe of the day just everything we imagined and dreamt of and more.
Everyone commented on how our wedding was the most beautiful one they'd been to. When we looked on IG after, so many of the videos were of Live Oak playing in the background. I just know they made the day feel so special and magical. Set the vibe perfectly!
10/10 recommend.

Alan and his team helped make our wedding so beautiful (we went with cello and classical guitar). They were able to play every song that we requested, even ones that weren’t on the repertoire. They were fantastic!
We had planned an entirely outdoor ceremony and reception which got rained out in a torrential downpour so we had to improvise and completely re-imagine our setup. The musicians were so flexible and the music was essential to creating the atmosphere that we wanted despite the rain! They learned a new song for the processional and it was absolutely perfect and just what we wanted. Definitely hire these guys for your wedding!

You need to book Live Oak Trio!
Live Oak Trio was an incredible addition to our wedding. When we first planned our wedding, we were so excited at the idea of a string trio- upon searching, we found Live Oak and honestly we were blown away. They are so incredibly talented. With covid, our plans changed and we were able to extend our booking to also have them play during our "cocktail" hour. From pre-ceremony, my walk down the aisle, to the post ceremony, Live Oak selected the perfect songs and melodies to play. Looking back, we are SO glad we booked Live Oak Trio, and you will be too! :)

They also prepared a special aisle song that was outside of their repertoire - and I bawled the whole way down the aisle (they played it so beautifully)! This trio was amazing. Super easy to work with, everything played was fantastic. We also had a special request for Johnny Cash & June Carter’s song “ Jackson” and they added it to their repertoire for us. Amazing group completely recommend.

Live Oak Trio was so kind, responsive and accomodating! We planned a very small family wedding, very last minute. I sent the whole "set" list of songs for our original big wedding ceremong to Live Oak Trio five days before the ceremony and they played so many of them and even learned a new song in this short amount of time. Beautiful and memorable!
We had Live Oak’s guitar and cello duo play at our wedding ceremony. They were extremely accommodating and even offered to play a song that was not on their repertoire. Unforgettable Touch to My Ceremony
Alan and Camille played for my June 20th wedding at Hill Country Casitas in Dripping Springs. Alan was such a joy to work with as we chose music for my ceremony and cocktail hour. I was surprised to find out they specialize in more contemporary music since my husband and I really wanted to have a Queen song play for our recessional. OMG! When I heard the first few chords toward the end of my ceremony of “Don’t Stop Me Know” on the violin my heart skipped a beat and if you see in the picture the music added a second layer of excitement and joy! What a beautiful moment. They played for my family during cocktail hour and to this day they cannot stop talking about what a nice touch it was to have Alan and Camille play the guitar and violin. Multi-talented Musicians
We needed traditional soft string music for our ceremony and also wanted lively upbeat jazz for the reception. Live Oak Trio was able to do both, transitioning from one group to the second. They also added requested music into the program and we heard nothing but compliments from our guests.

Oh my gosh words can’t express how happy we were to have the Live Oak Trio!! Alan and his musicians are FANTASTIC!! Not only do they have such an epic list of their own musical repertoire, they even did two custom songs for us no charge!! We got to have a strings version of the Zelda theme song, AND Castlevania. How cool is that?! With 239 guests we were worried maybe there would be some guests who wouldn’t be able to hear and enjoy the music with it being outside, but the professional way the set up and prepared for our wedding EVERY single individual got to enjoy it!! We had guests and family members coming up to us after their performance raving about how cool it was that they could recognize the songs and how skilled they were executing the music in such a beautiful way!! I’m telling you as a bride and groom you should one HUNDRED percent hire these guys for your special day. It creates such an awesome ambiance and really seems to impress your attendees 😋 Their skill is unmatched (we actually had hired a group the year before for a party we threw from another company and had quite a few issues and were not impressed) but the Live Oak Trio—I would recommend them to anyone!! Working with Live Oak Trio was a wonderful experience for us. Not only did they have a great song selection for our ceremony, but they learned an entirely new song for me. Hearing the opening notes of "Concerning Hobbits" drifting through the courtyard and walking down the aisle as it played is a memory that will bring tears to my eyes for the rest of my life. Wedding Ceremony and Cocktail Hour Magic!
Live Oak Trio performed at our November 2019 wedding ceremony and entertained our guests at our reception cocktail hour. The music was beautiful and we received many compliments on their music. The traditional ceremony music was enchanting and atmospheric, but the true highlight was Live Oak's perfect instrumental rendition of Led Zeppelin's 'Going to California' for my bridal processional. It was such a unique and emotional moment to walk down the aisle to my father and mine's favorite artist - a memory I will cherish forever. At the cocktail hour, Live Oak played a fun, eclectic mix that I kept stopping during pictures to listen to and think "I love that song!". The group was amazing and I would highly recommend them for any occasion!

Great Trio!
Alan and team were great to work with throughout the planning process, and were able to learn songs that we wanted to have be played which was really cool.
We used the Trio for our ceremony and reception dinner, then utilized their sound system for a spotify playlist since we didn't really like the idea of a DJ vibe. They also played during a slideshow we had post-dinner, before the dances began.
I thought they did a great job in all aspects, and would highly recommend them for your wedding; especially if you'd like specific songs to be played live by them, they put in the time and effort to learn them.

We used the Live Oak Trio for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. They were very responsive to every question that we had. They were also very accommodating to specific song requests. They have a great repertoire of instrumental versions of more contemporary indie/pop songs, classic rock songs, as well as more traditional classical wedding songs. We had them play a mixture of both for us. My only regret is that I wasn't able to hear them play more during my wedding day, since I was busy getting married! We got lots of compliments from our guests regarding Live Oak. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced string ensemble of excellent musicians.

We used the Live Oak Trio for our wedding day cocktail hour, dinner reception and first dance. From the start, the Live Oak Trio was a pleasure to work with. They were very responsive to our requests and were able to accommodate to the specific logistics and musical needs of our reception. Many of our guests commented on how great and elegant their music was and really loved hearing their favorite modern songs played in strings. We even had them play our first dance song along with our friend who sang the song. The trio and our friend were able to easily connect and coordinate to have our first song played to perfection. Highly recommend!!

Hiring Live Oak was such an amazing decision. We reached out to a few musicians for our ceremony and Live Oak was not only the most responsive, they were also extremely flexible and open to our unique musical requests. They learned and perfectly played 4 songs that probably aren't heard in a wedding ceremony. It was one of the best moments - hearing our songs played before the ceremony and at the end!
